The article tells about the experience of limits and challenges of online research in the
portal Portal.periodicos.Capes knowledge in the area of Social Sciences / Education, in
order to socialize with graduate students the importance of adopting, as a
methodological research strategies online the database of theses and dissertations, and
periodicals available on the portal. It is an exploratory study using a theoretical and
methodological approach of qualitative research. It was possible to see the need on the
part of graduate students of specificc knowledge and mastery of languages
communication, as well as the interfaces in online environments to gain access to the
collection of information essential to the academic researcher provided by Portal Capes.
