Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Com quantos enunciados se produz o mau aluno?(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018) BASTOS, Sandra Nazaré Dias; CHAVES, Sílvia NogueiraNumerous daily acts in schools are subtle expressions of important power relations that are naturalized by time and actors in this scenario. Within this context, we have brought to discussion two situations in which the speech delivered by the teacher functions as an element of power, truth and subjectivation. We act as a tool for our problematizations the thought of Michel Foucault, which points to the productive effects of the discourse, that is materialized in the organization of the relations between individuals and institutions establishing hierarchies and distinctions. Instituted by discursive and non-discursive practices the established relationship between these two actors entangles situations of authority and submission in which the teacher has the voice of truth and wisdom and the students the role of accepting and internalizing this voice as a practice to be incorporated as true not only in the pedagogical universe but also in social life.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Currículos e saberes: os discursos que fabricam professores de biologia(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-12) BASTOS, Sandra Nazaré Dias; CHAVES, Sílvia NogueiraThe purpose of this work is to reflect on how discursive processes influence the ways of being a biology teacher. Our attention was focused on the discursive and non-discursive practices that are currently being publicized and institutionalized in the curriculum of the Degree in Biological Sciences of the Campus of Bragança and influence the construction of the subject Biology Teacher. We took as empirical corpus the Catalog of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies from the Center of Biological Sciences of UFPA, a document that brings together course plans of the curriculum that ran from 1997 to 2004. Our analyzes show a curriculum basically focused on the health area, even if it was intended for teacher training. The omnipresence of contents and practices from the field of Medicine silences training components that are intended to prepare for teaching. The result is the development of a vision that enunciates teaching as a side effect, of what is presumed to be a good training in the "scientific" area. The effects of these practices reverberate in the formation of a professional who desires and values specific knowledge, minimizing the other knowledge, especially those of the pedagogical field. The hierarchy of knowledge produces a professional teacher who wishes to live the "glamorous" side of Biology, usually related to conducting research in specific areas such as Genetics and Ecology, as an alternative to the "monotonous" life inside the classroom.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Desnaturalizando os gêneros: uma análise dos discursos biológicos(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-12) FREITAS, Lilliane Miranda; CHAVES, Sílvia NogueiraThis research investigated reports in the magazine Superinteressante, how gender identity is constituted in the biological/ scientific discourse, and social productivity of these discourses. It is based on the theoretical fields of Michel Foucault and the Cultural Studies, in order to consider the connection between power/knowledge of production of gender through biological discourse published in the cultural pedagogies. In this investigation, evidence indicated that the biological discourses predominantly justify and naturalize the masculinity and femininity as biological evidence, which eventually produces and legitimizes supposedly natural ways of being male or female and socially behaviors expected. However, the genders are understood as socio-historical and cultural constructions, born from power-knowledge relationships, and where femininity and masculinity are not only constituted by biological characteristics.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Epistemologia, ética e política na formação de professores de ciências(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009-12) SILVA, Paulo Sérgio Araújo da; CHAVES, Sílvia NogueiraThis work is about the investigation developed during the process of continual formation of science teachers (from the subjects of Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Primary School's Sciences) in a public University. This work consists in a research in wich we try to understand the relations between epistemological refletion and teacher formation. We investigate, particularly, what kind of reflections the science teachers have built from the discussions about the process of production and social appropriation of science and the relations that they establish with the stories of their professional forming and performance. The analysis of this material pointed that among all the aspects in wich the epistemological debate simulated reflections the ethical-political dimension of science is always present. Such reflections led them to review their formative processes establishing relations between scientific production and social criterions of validation of science, as well as they accepted to analyse their own educative practices to these criterions.
