Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Uma abordagem SDN para virtualização de redes(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-11-25) PINHEIRO, Billy Anderson; ABELÉM, Antônio Jorge Gomes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5376253015721742The virtual SDN networks (vSDNs) have emerged from the association of virtualization and Software-Dened Networking (SDN), providing greater control and better use of network resources. Several studies have already shown the feasibility and benets of this approach. However, the issue still lacks solutions that can virtualize a network in a scalable, intuitive and simplied manner. Thus, this thesis proposes an SDN approach to network virtualization with the aim of reducing the limitations on vSDNs. Therefore, it is suggested to adopt in network virtualization the separation between data plans (distributed) and control (centralized), the global network view and use of ow abstraction to manage the communication between the dierent points. To support our proposition, three solutions were developed: the CIM-SDN (Common Information Model for Software-Dened Networking), to enable the use of formal representation of the new elements of vSDNs; The NVP (Network Virtualization Proxy), to provide greater scalability by separating the control plane into centralized and decentralized parts; And Graph Virtualization Layer (GVL), to provide greater use of abstractions between the hypervisor and controllers, thereby simplifying the understanding and use of the network. Proof of concept tests was carried out for the three proposed solutions, demonstrating the feasibility of the approach.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Aplicação de sensores virtuais na estimação da concentração dos parâmetros físico-químicos e metais em corpos d’água de reservatórios de hidrelétricas: um estudo de caso na Região Amazônica(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-10-23) RIBEIRO NETO, Benedito de Souza; OLIVEIRA, Terezinha Ferreira de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6230804143692945; SILVEIRA, Antônio Morais da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7549503749842625This research introduces the use of virtual sensors to estimate the concentration of physico-chemical parameters and metals in monitoring water quality of reservoirs Amazon through artificial neural networks (ANN) and images of remote sensing. A factor analysis of the variables considered in the study confirmed the relationship of the first factor with Secchi disk, Total Iron, PO4, Total P, TSS and Turbidity on a single factor, as these have a high reflectance and good energy absorption by satellite sensors. These elements were determined by ANN's, producing satisfactory results approach 100% between observed and estimated. The tests resulted in a good approximation, the first band Secchi disk depth, total Fe, STS, and turbidity of the water reservoir. In the specific case of the parameters PO4 and Total P, besides the problem of the small number of sampling stations available data and the variability inherent in the hydrological cycle of the region, it was found, through the interpretation of images, lack of similarities between the data used in training and validation of RNA. Overall, the study demonstrated the effectiveness of the application of virtual sensors in monitoring water quality of reservoirs in the Amazon by satellite imagery, providing a precise and less expensive alternative resources in the process of environmental monitoring.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Aplicação de técnicas estatísticas e de inteligência computacional na classificação de ciclos hidrológicos em reservatórios de água na região amazônica: um estudo de caso(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-05-09) FREIRE, Jean Carlos Arouche; OLIVEIRA, Terezinha Ferreira de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6230804143692945; MORAIS, Jefferson Magalhães de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5219735119295290This study evaluates the quality of the water reservoir of the Hydroelectric Plant Tucuruí according to the regional hydrological cycle and the spatial arrangement of the different sampling sites distributed in areas upstream of the dam in the period 2009-2012 from the amendment of 17 parameters physico-chemical and metals from water extracted of six factors that accounted for 71.01% of total data variability. It was observed that the greatest variations of NO3, NH4, , totalP, PO4 and STS occurred in the period of floods and may be an indication of trophic status in the sampling sites due to the existence of fishing poles or population density in the vicinity these sites. Discriminant analysis, artificial neural networks, k-nearest neighbors, support vector machine with polynomial and radial core and random forest: classification of the hydrological cycle to six classifiers were used. The results indicate that the random forest classifier showed the best performance with a percentage rating of 7.80% of incorrect predictions. While Student t test indicates that random forest and k-nearest neighbors have an average rate of incorrect predictions with equal significance index set at α = 5%.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Aplicação e comparação de técnicas de classificação automática de documentos: um estudo de caso com o dataset do domínio jurídico “Victor”(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-02-01) MARTINS, Victor Simões; SILVA, Cleison Daniel; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1445401605385329; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8280-2928The application of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Brazilian legal context is a rapidly growing area that can alter the way legal professionals work, given the volume of generated text. Among the possible applications of NLP and AI is the automatic classification of documents, which, among other things, can be employed in the automation of the digitization process of Judicial Proceedings that are still in physical form. Therefore, this work applies and compares AI algorithms for the classification of legal documents. The algorithms are divided into two different approaches. The first approach (I) separates the computational representation process of the text from the classifier training itself and applies SVM and Logistic Regression in conjunction with computational representations based on TF-IDF, Word2Vec, FastText, and BERT. The second approach (II) simultaneously performs the computational representation of documents and the training of the classifier, applying Deep Learning algorithms based on recurrent neural networks, specifically ULMFiT (Universal Language Model Fine-tuning), and HAN (Hierarchical Attention Networks). The studied dataset is named VICTOR, composed of documents from the Supreme Federal Court (STF) of Brazil. The research concludes that both approaches can be applied to the classification of legal documents from the employed dataset. Additionally, despite being less computationally expensive, the classification pipelines of Approach I, which use the computational representation of the document with TF-IDF, yield results equivalent to pipelines employing Deep Learning. Furthermore, embedding documents specialization with data from the dataset under study, improves the performance of pipelines that employ Word2Vec, FastText and ULMFiT, compared to pipelines that apply the generic representations of these, i.e., models pre-trained with data from the general context.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Aprendizado em conjunto aplicado à classificação da imagética motora(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2025-01-20) JORGE, Vitor da Silva; SILVA, Cleison Daniel; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1445401605385329; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8280-2928Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) AutoAssemblyD software para submissão e gerenciamento de montagem de genomas a partir de modelos XML(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-01-24) VERAS, Adonney Allan de Oliveira; SILVA, Artur Luiz da Costa da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7642043789034070Technologies for second-generation sequencing provided a major breakthrough of the genome, making its use a landmark that has revolutionized biology. These platforms are characterized by a reduction in sequencing time, high data production and low cost per base sequenced, however, these devices produce data mostly consist of short readings which represents a major challenge for reconstruction of the genome due to this new feature readings of computational tools had to be developed to accomplish the task of assembling their example we Velvet, AllPaths, Abyss, SOAPdenovo2, Edena. However, most of these applications are executed through command lines extended and composed of several parameters must follow the standard syntax to use, because in case of errors in the syntax is the possibility of not obtaining the best result, with the aim of solve this problem we present the AutoAssemblyD that besides providing the use of these assemblers through a graphical interface also enables the management of these executions remotely.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Avaliação da tecnologia femtocell como canal de retorno para TV digital(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-08-26) COSTA, Allan Barbosa; CARDOSO, Diego Lisboa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0507944343674734; CAVALCANTE, Gervásio Protásio dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2265948982068382Traffic measurement on Digital TV interactive applications for fourth generation networks, especially WiMAX and femtocell, has been a challenge to researchers around the world. The traffic pattern of an interactive application on the Brazillian System of Digital TV (SBTVD) was identified. Simulations on a wireless network were carried out using data obtained of traffic analysis. In this work a WiMAX and a femtocell network were chosen to simulate the return channel of a Digital TV application on a WMAN (Wireless Metropolitan Area Network). In order to reduce signal attenuation, femtocell arises as a promising solution, reducing macrocell usage, as femtocells cover indoor environments. The simulations is this work were executed using OPNET software. Through them it is possible to estimate the feasibility of femtocell and WiMAX technologies as return channel for Digital TV.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Avaliação de desempenho de técnicas de localização em ambientes reais aplicadas a redes de sensores sem fio(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-05-26) MACHADO, Leomário Silva; MONTEIRO, Dionne Cavalcante; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4423219093583221; ARAÚJO, Josivaldo de Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8158963767870649The location of wireless sensor networks is a challenge that goes beyond the use of popular GPS through several studies that aim to improve it or even replace it. Given the breadth and capillarity of these problems, studies have been developed to reduce network operating costs of this magnitude, especially regarding the demand for electricity. Therefore, this work proposes a method of resolution of routing problems with high demand. The proposed method is based on bio-inspired algorithms, which combined with other methods, ensure the integrity of the solutions, as well as its proximity to optimum. Nevertheless, such algorithms becomes computationally expensive as the application complexity in question grows and, therefore, multiprocessor environment, like GPU Computing platforms, has being widely used to increase bio-inspired algorithms performance. Thus, this work aims perform tests about the widespread parallelization techniques of these algorithms, intending to make an evaluation of which strategies has better relation with each tested algorithm. In order to do this, the routing problem in WDW optics networks with high demand level was used as a case study, in which it is needed define which are the better routes to demands sent simultaneously. The algorithms that assisted the tests were Genetic Algorithms and Swarm Particle Optimization, which are highly disseminated. The results show that the parallelization strategy to be used depends as much on the platform in which has been implemented, as the problem to be treaty.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) A comunicabilidade da interação do usuário idoso com o aplicativo WhatsApp(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-10-25) OLIVEIRA, Regina Mares de Souza; FÜLBER, Heleno; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5018616409948511; MERLIN, Bruno; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7336467549495208; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7327-9960The advances in digital technologies and the widespread use of smartphones have greatly changed the way people communicate, mainly through social platforms. The centralized control uses the k-means algorithm, responsible for the division of clusters and Fuzzy Logic to elect the Cluster Head and selecting the best route of communication between elected. The results indicate that the proposal offers great advantages, allowing us to select the most suitable nodes for group leaders at each round based on the Fuzzy System values, and also the use of Fuzzy Logic as a decision tool to implement multiple hops between CHs, since it minimizes the power dissipation of the selected CHs more distant from the collection point. The insertion of three levels of heterogeneity, corresponding to normal, advanced and super sensors, contributes considerably to increasing the period of network stability. Another great contribution obtained from the is the use of a central control in base station (BS) with advantages over local information processing in each node, a process usually found in traditional algorithms for electing CHs. The proposed solution proved that the election of the more efficient CH, considering its location and energy levels discrepancies, and also, the inclusion of new heterogeneity levels, allows to increase the networkstability period, ie, the period that the network is fully functional, greatly increasing the useful lifetime in heterogeneous WSN.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Desenvolvimento de um sistema web para auxílio do processo de ensino-aprendizagem de lógica de programação aplicado ao novo ensino médio(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-06-28) MEDEIROS, Ederson José Andrade; ALVES, Elton Rafael; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8408339809247090; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2148-8941Educational technologies have played a crucial role in enhancing the teaching-learning process, offering innovative solutions that contribute to a more dynamic and effective education. Many of these developments have created opportunities that are being considered in the conception of future communication networks. These new possibilities are related to, specially, use the internet to access services and include: mobility, low cost technologies, growth and jobs (over the Internet it is possible to participate in each business process and production) services, education (opportunity for people to grow and thrive), entertainment (virtual worlds for entertainment, shopping and games), a high traffic volume (text, voice, images, video). As a result, the Internet has become, like electricity or water, a public good. With almost 2 billion of users (about 28% of world population), the Internet is becoming, increasingly, a pervasive infrastructure providing anywhere and anytime connectivity and services. This world of the Internet current is the result of successive changes that have occurred since its inception and became the communications infrastructure of critical importance. In terms of communication technologies, mobile wireless systems have a special place because of its exceptional propagation in the last decade and, along with the Internet, has allowed the emergence of smart devices, the introduction of new innovative services and demand for an environment that supports innovation and creativity. However, the various network standards to support, mainly to access to last mile are disadvantages to the user's perspective, because it has to enable these networks (to contract the services) and often to have specific terminals to access them. The idea of a single standard for these networks did not achieve satisfactory results and a solution points for the integration of these networks to provide unique and transparent access to the user. This paper therefore presents an embedded solution for integrating wireless communications standards such heterogeneous IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee, IEEE 802.20 GSM / GPRS and Wi-Fi IEEE 802.2. This heterogeneity of wireless technologies enables a user moving through your local or remote terminal access applications and services in the transparent way. Performance evaluation of the solution was performed using two types of services: home automation and telemedicine. The results indicated that the proposed solution can integrate and provide services with safety and reliability.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estratégias de planejamento para otimização do consumo residencial de energia elétrica: uma abordagem baseada em smart home e sistemas fuzzy(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-08-04) ANDRADE, Sérgio Henrique Monte Santo; FRANCÊS, Carlos Renato Lisboa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7458287841862567Residential energy consumption has grown steadily over the last decades, becoming a problem for companies in the electricity sector, for consumers and for the environment. The traditional measurement systems are not sufficient and have limitations in providing adequate real-time information about consumption. As also, they are not prepared to deal with variable energy costs in the context of a market with dynamic prices that depend on the energy mix. The future of electric grid, called Smart Grid, will not only be designed with measurements based on the residences, but also on the individualized equipment consumption level. From the residential side, consumers generally suffer from a lack of information on the specific equipment energy consumption impact and, consequently, on the required behavior to reduce its consumption. In this context, this work aims on a smartphone monitoring system concept, to control energy using fuzzy logic, in order to provide to the user ways to maintain his energy consumption, through consumption profiles, within the user-defined consumption patterns. The energy reduction demand through the consumption profiles working with habitant dependence degree on the electrical equipment present in the residence, promote a smaller impact on inhabitant well-being and the daily life.Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estratégias evolucionárias para otimização no tratamento de dados ausentes por imputação múltipla de dados(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-02-16) LOBATO, Fábio Manoel França; SANTANA, Ádamo Lima de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4073088744952858The data analysis process includes information acquisition and organization in order to obtain knowledge from them, bringing scientific advances in various fields, as well as providing competitive advantages to corporations. In this context, an ubiquitous problem in the area deserves attention, the missing data, since most of the data analysis techniques can not deal satisfactorily with this problem, which negatively impacts the final results. In order to avoid the harmful effects of missing data, several studies have been proposed in the areas of statistical analysis and machine learning, especially the study of Multiple Data Imputation, which consists in the missing data substitution by plausible values. This methodology can be seen as a combinatorial optimization problem, where the goal is to find candidate values to substitute the missing ones in order to reduce the bias imposed by this issue. Metaheuristics, in particular, methods based in evolutionary computing have been successfully applied in combinatorial optimization problems. Despite the recent advances in this area, it is perceived some shortcomings in the modeling of imputation methods based on evolutionary computing. Aiming to fill these gaps in the literature, this thesis presents a description of multiple data imputation as a combinatorial optimization problem and proposes imputation methods based on evolutionary computing. In addition, due to the limitations found in the methods presented in the recent literature, and the necessity of adoption of different evaluation measures to assess the imputation methods performance, a multi-objective genetic algorithm for data imputation in pattern classification context is also proposed. This method proves to be flexible regarding to data types and avoid the complete-case analysis. Because the flexibility of the proposed approach, it is also possible to use it in other scenarios such as the unsupervised learning, multi-label classification and time series analysis.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Experiência na implementação de um modelo de gestão de PD&I em um grupo de empresas paraenses com o uso de ferramentas digitais e práticas ágeis(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-08-05) OLIVEIRA, Aline Santos de; COSTA, Anderson Jorge Serra da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7707885586024191; REIS, Rodrigo Quites; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9839778710074372; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3657-4175This dissertation explores the implementation of a Innovation management model in a group of companies of the Pará state in Brazil, using digital tools and agile practices. The objective of the research is to evaluate the effectiveness of these approaches in improving innovation processes, an essential factor for the economic growth and competitiveness of organizations. The study focused on the application of a methodology compatible with the Brazilian RD&I Management Model (MGPDI, in Portuguese) in three companies selected through a open competition ruled by a Science and Technology Park. The methodology for this research included a systematic literature review, case study, interviews with investors and project leaders, as well as a qualitative analysis of the data collected. The results reveal that the adoption of digital tools such as Trello, Jira, Ocomon and Taiga, combined with agile practices, provides benefits such as greater adaptability, better collaboration, greater transparency and reduced operational costs. However, it should be noted that the implementation of this management model brings challenges, such as organizational resistance to change and the need for continuous training of teams. Therefore, it must be assumed that the integration of digital tools and agile practices in RD&I management can considerably improve companies' innovation capacity, fostering an organizational culture of adaptability and resilience. Thus, the recommendations generated by this research made it possible to prepare an executive summary, describing how the implementation of the MGPDI contributes to sustainability and competitiveness in the business context of the Pará state.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Fatores críticos para a implantação de melhorias de serviço de TI: um estudo em instituições públicas de ensino superior(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-12-14) MENEZES, Gilberto Fabricio Malheiros; SANTOS, Viviane Almeida dos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1489376127395764; REIS, Rodrigo Quites; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9839778710074372; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3657-4175This research was dedicated to the Information Technology Services Management (GSTI) area, more specifically in the study of the factors that influence the process of implementing improvements in IT service processes, in view of the growth in the service management area. based on Information Technology (IT). Today, associations are required to continually seek to improve IT services, in order to provide them with quality, and to meet internal and external needs. From the above, the objectives of this study are: 1) basic diagnoses of success (FCS) and resistance (FCR) are crucial for the implementation of IT service improvements; 2) identify the degree of promotion of FCS and FCR within public Higher Education Institutions (HEIs); 3) define strategies for overcoming and / or enhancing the FCS and FCR. In order to achieve these objectives, a three-step survey was developed. The first sought, through a systematic mapping of the literature, aimed to identify which are these FCS and FCR. As a result, 41 FCS and 13 FCR were identified. In the second stage, surveys were carried out with 110 IT professionals from 24 public HEIs in the state of Pará and from the Cooperation Network with the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). The results reaffirm a cause of the factors: support from senior management (FCS1); alignment between IT and business (FCS9); well-defined processes (FCS2); lack of technical resources and support (FCR2); lack of knowledge and skills (FCR3). The third stage collected data through classification with 11 managers and former IT managers of public HEIs in the North of Brazil to establish which actions can be developed or improved to face the factors. All the discoveries made by the author resulted in the writing of three scientific papers. The results, in short, point to a common perception within the public HEIs about the importance of the studied factors and that coping is possible by a number of strategies: awareness senior management through the exposure of benefits; carrying out training and qualification activities; cultivation of healthy interpersonal relationshipss; process mapping; resource management; use of specific tools; implementation of management techniques.Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) FOG: função de objetivo genérico para roteamento e alocação de comprimentos de onda em redes ópticas com tráfego de demanda estática(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-04-29) CARDOSO, Afonso Jorge Ferreira; COSTA, João Crisóstomo Weyl Albuquerque; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9622051867672434; FRANCÊS, Carlos Renato Lisboa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7458287841862567This doctoral thesis proposes a mathematical formulation to simulate routing and wavelength assignment in optical networks, without the inclusion of constraints that are not inherent to the basic problem and in order to be applicable to any type of optical network with a static traffic demand. The establishment of a route followed by wavelength assignment is one of the keys to the smooth operation of an optical network, as this influences on how the resources of the network will be managed. Thus, the process of routing and wavelength assignment (RWA) in optical networks, needs a solution that seeks its optimization. However, despite numerous studies aiming to optimize RWA, it is observed that there is no solution, a priori, that could lead to a standardization of RWA process. Whereas consolidating standardization is desirable in the use of any technology, the thesis described in this work is a Generic Objective Function(GOF) that deals with the process of routing and wavelength assignment to establish a basis from which we can develop a standard or several standards for optical networks. The GOF was tested by simulation in the process of wavelength assignment (WA) and the RWA process as a whole. In both cases, tests were performed considering opaque networks, bringing surprising results, considering the simplicity of solution for a non-trivial problem.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Game Serra Pelada: projeto, implementação e avaliação de um jogo educativo para o ensino de geometria para alunos do 9° ano do ensino fundamental(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-01-20) ELIANE SOBRINHO, Maria; RIBEIRO FILHO, Manoel; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9329438229733907This article presents the project, implementation and evaluation of an educational game platform, whose user the geometry concepts the Math Reference Matrix 9th grade elementary school with the subject I space and form.
