The discussion comes from fieldwork conducted in 2010 and the first half of 2011, with a group of twelve interlocutors, two prison guards and two policemen who were interviewed in order to highlight the different relationships established from life in prison. In this perspective, the data for research allude to the fact that the women's prison is not a simple space where the interlocutors are the obligation of the sentence, it is reworked and remeaning daily, marking the changes of values, ideas and behaviors of women sentenced, making certainties of life in prison prior to recurring questions and also create opportunities for new social arrangements.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) A cidade vista através do porto: múltiplas identidades urbanas e imagem da cidade na orla fluvial de Belém (PA)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2006) SILVA, Marcos Alexandre Pimentel da; CAMPELO, Marilu Marcia; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8338592541775616This dissertation focuses the constrution/mark of multiples urban identities in the context of Belém city in state of Pará, considering the different trajectories realized trough of Porto da Palha, localized in the south portion of the fluvial riverside of that city. The objective is to understand this phenomenon through the analysis of marriage records from 2376, where he studied the structure and profile of marriages that occurred in Belém, between 1995 and 2006. Seeking thus to evaluate the profiles of the spouses against the backdrop of social changes through which passed the Western societies in recent centuries, whose emergence of romantic literature, individualism as a value and different models of family arrangements, had a profound influence on the kind of choice affective-sexual individuals, and thus the ideal type of partner with whom they want / should marry. Methodologically the work is developed based on a review of anthropological literature that addresses the issue of marital school in social sciences, with emphasis on studies that support their historical and conceptual development; as well as a detailed analysis of the procedure of choice in the work of three British novelist Jane Austen ("Pride and Prejudice”, “Sense and Sensibility”, and “Emma”). It also highlights my research along the course of Groom of the Parish of Nossa Senhora de Nazaré, in Belém-PA, where I looked through the speech of its users, the experience of choice and sense of being chosen as a spouse. My proposal with this is trying to understand not only the selection profiles andspeeches about the spouse preference, but why they chose to view the conjugal union.Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Entre o precário e o (in)sustentável: discursos de sustentabilidade e o cotidiano em projetos habitacionais do Programa de Aceleração do Crescimento para remoção urbana, em Belém e Ananindeua(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-11-26) CASTRO, Marlon D'Oliveira; MERCÊS, Simaia do Socorro Sales das; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8905447990410938This thesis discusses the presence of sustainability speeches in the production of urban space promoted by the Growth Acceleration Program (PAC), in its Urbanization of Precarious Settlements (UAP) line, for the urban removal of families at socio-environmental risk (resettlement and relocation). Its objectives are to analyze the state's use of urban sustainability discourses; analyze the influence of change of residence processes on aspects related to the material life of families; analyze the links and connections between sustainability discourses and the conceptual contribution of housing of Brazilian social interest; and to analyze the relationship between sustainability discourses present in the formulation and execution of PTTS for housing interventions for urban removal. To this end, the theoretical development of the discussions in the last decades on sustainable development and the qualitative adaptation imposed on the concept were made to become, at present, urban sustainability or simply sustainability. Based on a qualitative methodology supported by historical-dialectical materialism, four case studies were carried out on PAC interventions, based on its Technical Social Work Projects (PTTS), housing projects aimed at removing families occupying vulnerable environmental spaces and socially, in two municipalities in the Metropolitan Region of Belém (RMB): the Taboquinha Community, in the Icoaraci District, in Belém; the Faith in God Community, in the Tenoné neighborhood, in Belém; the Jardim Jader Barbalho Community, in the Aurá neighborhood, in Ananindeua; and the Pantanal Community, in the Mangueirão neighborhood, in Belém. From the use of Discourse Analysis and the approach of three essential categories for daily analysis, according to Lefebvre (1980), - family, leisure and work - the analysis expressed, from the perspective of the agents involved and the trajectory of the subjects in the transition between spaces and their daily lives, the distance between the implementation of the policy and sustainability in the environmental, social and economic perspectives, intended in the heart of the Program, demonstrating that: it is not possible to think of peripheral housing estates to remove families detached from reality and the economic system that produces it and the implications that this production brings with it for space and society; there are weaknesses in the conceptual use of sustainability as rhetoric for a new proposal for urban regulation; PTTS disregard the needs of families and the material and substantive experiences of the subjects served, ignoring their needs and daily practices in these spaces produced in an abstract way, which since their formulation denied the experiences of the population served, via the absence of leisure spaces, disconnection with the world of work, permanence of risks, which opposes them to fully social spaces and distances them from a perspective of the right to the city, being interpreted as (un) sustainable spaces from the socio-environmental point of view.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Justiça marginal: sociabilidades complexas subjacentes às práticas de linchamento(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-08-30) PAVÃO, Bruna H. S. Menezes; BARP, Wilson José; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6546508090587542The communication to follow results of the bibliographical research and field concerning the practical ones of lynching in Belém of Pará, in this aspect the first initiative was leaned over on the historiography of the act, that would supply support posterior problematization of the same while question of eminently social matrix. In this direction, after all the source of information harvested in such a way of books as of popular periodicals, we enter in the mined field of the lynchings, ideamos launching in them without mooring cables in the world of the people, places of where happen the modalities staggering of the wild use of the rude force, the social actors in this universe elaborate its proper forms of confrontation of the crime and at the same time of maintenance of communitarian social bows and for in such a way they launch hand in such a way of legal artifices as well for the illegality. The visualization of one form of sociability gestated for the fear and the violence the one that had been always submitted corroborates so that the answers violent crime is equally using itself of the rude force, the sociação between the innumerable known individuals or not, victims or same viewers of some form of crime are capable to stimulate the arbitrary decision to cut with a scythe the life of a criminal eventual contumacious person or, the ressignifica lynching if while modality of collective revenge is thus a form averse of popular application of justice, where visualize the violence as last resource the popular reach that it supplies to immediate reply a perpetrated trespass, the degree of belonging of the actors social authors of these crimes, some involved social representations, the absence of accountability of its participants, the belief of that had reacted to a cruel event. Thus, our sociological intuition directed in them for the understanding of the same having as starting point the places of where the same ones emanate and the social actors who supply to the lynchings conditions of existence and maintenance in the present time.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Museus e colonialidade: uma análise da exposição de longa duração o Museu do Estado do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-09-15) LEÃO, Andrey Manoel Leão de; BRITTO, Rosângela Marques de; FIGUEIREDO, Silvio José de Lima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2578700144404800; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6810-1639The work seeks to discuss how colonization in the state of Para established various narratives about the region, placing groups of European origins and their lifestyles at the center, and all other groups on the margin. This was maintained throughout the state's history from the colonial period until the time known as the Belle Époque, the period of economic boom in the region that, seeking local urban development, based on its public policies on an ideal of life in European cities. Therefore, I discuss how these visions are posted in the Museum of the State of Pará, which is coined as a historical museum, and therefore, aims to tell the history of the state. This hierarchization of cultures and peoples at the expense of others, based on the idea of race, that is maintained even with the independence of countries or with decolonization is known as coloniality. Thus, the analysis takes place critically on the museum's long-term exhibition, seeing who is in the spotlight, who is not, how cultural groups are shown, what is shown, how sensitization is made, etc. These actions are made to show how coloniality is posted in the museum's representations. The work also points out as follows are certain representations to combat these colonializing perspectives, based on the notion of decoloniality as a way of undoing a perspective of cultural construct hierarchization. For this, the new museological perspectives point out that museums, especially stories that play the role of legitimizing what is the truth, must have a social role that seeks to solve current problems, mainly discursive ones, which historically gave unilaterally and have high coercive power over society. Finally, when there is no discursive equivalence and when colonizing perspectives are transported to the region's current times, by not discussing or linking them to local problems, the museum sometimes ends up being a reinforcer of these hierarchical and prejudiced perspectives.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Organização de lideranças no bairro da Vilinha, Imperatriz-MA, uma área de ocupação(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2005-12-10) COSTA, Raimundo Nonato Barbosa; SIMONIAN, Ligia Terezinha Lopes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6620574987436911This work has as objective to present an analysis on the urban problem in an occupation area in the neighborhood of the Villa, municipal district of Empress, highlighting the organization forms and performance of leaderships with relationship to the conquests and improvements of the population, tends as base an analysis of the associative in the Vila and its invigoration in Brazil after the 1980. As theoretical foundation was approached the classic in the investigation of the phenomenon of the cities and urbanization process, like Weber, Castells, Rodrigues, Acevedo, Simonian and others. During the research, mobilizations were identified in the neighborhood towards better life conditions as the politics of health, education and safety, showing the impasses at the same time among the inhabitants and between these and the public power, in the conquest of improvements for the neighborhood. Another aspect that stands out in this analysis is the relationships of the popular movement in the Villa with the municipal public power and until Federal, standing out the negotiations with INFRAERO for the liberation of the area for the definitive territorial formation of the neighborhood and at the same time the presence of the woman's performance as pioneer leaderships in the organization of representative movements of the neighborhood. It is concluded finally that the popular movement developed an important work, but a lot of times gone back to the attendance, mainly developed by the performance of the Churches so that they didn't contribute to help in the conscience citizen's formation, what could be explained the reason of so much difficulties, that the neighborhood today mainly, as the infrastructure basic.Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) “Pelas ruas de Belém...”: produção de sentido e dinâmica cultural nos arrastões do Pavulagem em Belém do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-04-01) CHAGAS JUNIOR, Edgar Monteiro; RODRIGUES, Carmem Izabel; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5924616509771424Recent demands by groups of residents from large Brazilian urban centers for some cultural manifestations understood as traditional – approached according to a model of cultural representation whose dimension of identity value has been increasingly activated – has permitted some reflections that surpass the conditions of use and appropriation of urban public spaces that elaborate and institute different forms of artistic- cultural expression without necessarily following the consolidated standards for large events where distance from the artist and the public prevails. During the last two decades, there has been a resuming of actions of pedagogical nature on knowledge whose origin are in old popular dances that started to provide a referential for production of discourses by urban cultural activists who became known for their appeal to “degradation” of identities in a world economically globalized, redirecting participation and consumption of the socalled cultural assets and providing a form of public mobilization that began to (re) assume the streets as referential in the sense of socialization and experimentation as driving energy of accomplishment of a cultural action performatically ritualized. Therefore, this study aims to collaborate with these discussions anchored in the possibility of intermingling among the notions of heritage, ritual and performance motivated by observations of a cultural movement called Arrastão do Pavulagem, which has been performing for the last twenty eight years, and has been consolidated in the annual cultural schedule of Belém do Pará as a moment of esthetic and symbolic (re) creation of the festivity based on performance of musicians, dancers, actors, producers who carry out their actions in an environment, that suggests that it is institutionalized from a sense of participation and experimentation of the place as one of the fundaments of this movement mobilized by different interests, but that, when meeting at this environment, intermingle and performatically elaborate discourses and visualities that operate in the possibility of (re) interpretation of the urban landscape of the Historical Center of Belém do Pará.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Percepção de qualidade de vida urbana em Cametá-PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-07-04) CABRAL, Cleiton Lopes; MERCÊS, Simaia do Socorro Sales das; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8905447990410938The research carried out in the downtown neighborhoods and outskirts of the city of Cametá highlights the importance of establishing relationships between urbanization studies and quality of life from the resident’s perception. It was aimed to analyze the perception of quality of life for urban residents in traditional Amazonian town. The theoretical framework adopted shows that city residents are continuously exposed to a series of characteristics of the urban space, which can produce feelings of satisfaction, aversion or indifference to the place. Based on the form applied to young men and women, adults and elderly it can be seen that the concept of quality of life shows differences in the levels of needs and aspirations. It is evidenced that the perception of residents from both downtown and outskirts neighborhoods have strong relationship with the satisfaction of needs, whether of material or immaterial nature. With the application of the form to the number of persons determined by the sampling plan and submitting the data to statistical treatment of factor analysis and a multivariate extension of ANOVA, called MANOVA, which enabled to compare opinions and find averages, the results showed that the residents from Cidade Nova and Jardim Primavera Neighborhoods are dissatisfied with the material conditions of the place and at São João Batista the residents expressed that they are partially satisfiedDissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Políticas públicas e as pequenas empresas no cenário da mineração: o setor de gemas e jóias de Belém(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-04-30) CHAVES, Débora Almeida; MATHIS, Armin; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8365078023155571This study has as its object the state intervention through public policies, for one of the sectors of mineral Pará state economy. Taking as empiric cutting gems and jewelry sector that develops in Bethlehem, because of present with the best organization and structure for the research. Thus was formulated as a problem: How State intervention, through their public policies, impact on gems and jewelry Bethlehem and how this rebate in favor of endogenous regional development sector? Since it would fall to this sector contribute to changes as the scenario of the state's mineral economy through vertical integration of production of precious metals and gems found in Pará underground. As a general objective was to analyze how and how public policies (developed and implemented by the state) approach to development of the Gems and Jewellery sector of Belém. To reach that goal this methodology based from a systemic approach, as this approach provides operationalize the research problem situations and forms of interventions to improve such situations. Also guided on the methodology from the perspective of Social Systems Theory of Niklas Luhmann, emphasizing a) autorrefenciados / autopoietic systems; b) observer 2nd order. As for the method it has been qualitative, with research strategy adopted was a case study. (Intrinsic case study), also employed to search and Document Analysis. And as data collection technique: semi structured interviews and questionnaire (with contingent questions). The results show that even the state of Pará featuring a sectoral public policy for the promotion of development of the gems and jewelry sector, such still can not realize the seminal idea of verticalization of mineral production and that public policy is presented as a vicious cycle not being able also to generate effectiveness of its actionsDissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Uso e controle da força pela polícia: ações de reintegrações de posse urbana na Região Metropolitana de Belém (1990-2002)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2006-07-28) CHARLET, Ronaldo Braga; ACEVEDO MARIN, Rosa Elizabeth; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0087693866786684Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Violência e transgressão na periferia de Belém: sociabilidade e os arranjos criminosos no espaço de ocupação Riacho Doce(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2008) MARRA, Maria Lúcia Martins Pedrosa; BARP, Wilson José; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6546508090587542This study propose itself to investigate the context of the transgression and violence in the area of Occupation Riacho Doce and its implications in the social context. Onit, we search to demonstrate a series of arrangements that result in the multiple sociabilitie that favour criminal actions between local transgressors and Public Security Agents. Besides these precise aspects, the same displays some theoretical discussions about essential concepts to the comprehension of the violence phenomenon as all. Amongst them, poverty and social exclusion, stigma and fear, global risk society, urban violence, human rights, crime and power relations. Sticking out further, the historical trajectory of the Public Security Institutions, emphasizing to Brazilian and Pará Military Police and theirs respective characteristics, in intention to demonstrate that the conjunctions of all presented elements has favored a lucrative local commerce of drugs and consequently increased criminality with somepliceman participation that used to do practical illicit, local adolescent and criminals.Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Violência otélica: a agressão masculina nas relações conjugais(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2007) SOUZA, Jaime Luiz Cunha de; BRITO, Daniel Chaves de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4547584911539063This paper is about violence on conjugal and affective relations; more precisely, on occurrences when man is the aggressor and women the victim. The main focus of our discussion is the aggressors’ motivation from the point of view of men involved in this type of violation. Our analysis concentrates on police investigation considered as domestic violence, after the approval of Maria da Penha bill . We tried to explain the social factors involved in the logical construction guiding the actions of the aggressor. Initially, we found that there is not an exact correspondence on the terms commonly used to denominate aggressions perpetrated against women and girls by husbands and boyfriends, which restricts the understanding of the real dimension of the problem. The results suggest that violence has a rationality which is given by its relation with tradition; as a result, it is tolerated and repeated with common sense knowledge, acting as a language resource through which all informal codes which serve as parameter for conjugal life are constantly being reaffirmed. It was found that there is a relation of completeness between the one who perpetrates the aggression and the person who suffers from it, specially in those cases in which violence has been installed as a routine; It was also verified that men’s aggression against wives are always related to values and roles traditionally established as: suspicion of conjugal infidelity, domestic hierarchy and social spaces.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Violências e seus efeitos no bairro do PAAR, Ananindeua/Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-06-28) COSTA, Fernando Augusto Ribeiro; ACEVEDO MARIN, Rosa Elizabeth; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0087693866786684; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7509-3884We aimed, through the use of ethnographic procedures, to investigate, analyze and reflect on the effects of violence on how living and coexistence are established, organized and reproduced in the daily lives of individuals who live in the midst of it, especially in its subjective sense, especially in PAAR, a neighborhood on the outskirts of the Metropolitan Region of Belém, capital of the State of Pará. It is observed that in these relations there are elements of a coexistence based on mutual support and understanding, since the subjects have to live in the same side of coexistence and that, even for families whose members were considered suspects of illicit acts and barbarically exterminated, such attitudes do not disappear, but are reinforced. Conducting this reflection led us to seek to understand the nuances of a theme worked on under the most diverse aspects, which is always a task impregnated with the challenge of proposing a different look, an innovative analysis, or a conception so new that it can even respond to the longing to give ready-made answers to situations that are quite complex. Thus, numerous authors warn about the risk of aprioristic views and biases of thought that end up directing the analysis and, consequently, the conclusions. One such author is Slavoj Žižek. By working on the notions of subjective violence and objective violence, from a perspective of search and not of definitions, this author helps in the understanding of the multiplicity of visions and points of view while provoking the research to go in search of the confrontation of a reality full of symbolism in detriment of a Real full of Ideology.
