Such issue is very marked in the poem “Oitava Elegia” by Rainer Maria Rilke and brought many ideas to Martin Heidegger’s philosophy. In his work Parmenides, the german philosopher shows how the Greeks understand the opening as the essence of truth and with this insight he makes a parallel with Rilke’s poem. Paulo Plínio was a translator of Rilke’s works and incorporated the opening in his own poems, in the work of truth, however in a singular way. This presented study concerns about how each of the authors cited above show the opening issue, focusing in Paulo Plínio’s works. He uses the opening issue by the hearing of night images, the travel, the angel and the death present in his work Poesia.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Alteridade e morte em "Páramo", de Guimarães Rosa(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-02-03) PEREIRA JÚNIOR, José Antônio Braga; HOLANDA, Sílvio Augusto de Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0928175455054278This dissertation aims to investigate the relation between the themes of otherness and death in “Páramo”, by João Guimarães Rosa, based on Hall (2006), Bhabha (1998), both about the concept of otherness, and Ariès (2012) and Levinas (2000), both about the concept of death. Published in Estas Estórias (1969), “Páramo” is a singular writing among the works of Guimarães Rosa, because it is the most autobiographic text of the author and is set on a urban space of a foreing city. In this tale, a brazilian ambassador is sent to an andean city where he has to execute a diplomatic service, but after to be shoked by extreme otherness of that place he begins feeling a process of decentering of his identity, that culminates with premonition of his death and a need of renovation of Being. The relevance of this research is that it brings new discussions about the inevitable relation between Me, Other and death in the text of “Páramo”, so that we can reflete about the philosofical and cultural outspread of this relation. This research is divide into three parts: the first part of this study will deal with the concepts of otherness and death acordding the authors related above. In the second part of this study we will launch a reflection about the philosofical and cultural problems based on the intertwined relation between otherness and death on the text of “Páramo”, accomplishing a dialogue with the concepts and categories of Being, Other and the Stranger. In the third and last part of this research, we will realize a dialogue between the conceptions presented in this research and the perspectives presented in most relevant works published about “Páramo”, as studies from Hector Olea Galaviz (1987), Maria Thereza Scher Pereira (2007 e 2009), Bairón Escallón (2011, 2012 e 2013), Luciano Antônio (2013), Gisálio Cerqueira Filho (2013), Betina Cunha (2014), Maria Magnabosco (2003), Edson Oliveira (2010) e Paulo Moreira (2013), aiming to contribute to studies dedicated to this narrative of João Guimarães Rosa.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) A aventura histórico-literária: uma leitura de “O Tetraneto Del-Rei” de Haroldo Maranhão(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-08-05) MUNIZ, Aline de Souza; CASTILO, Luís Heleno Montoril del; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3519128535996125O Tetraneto Del-Rei is masterpiece that blend languages, genders and discourses and weave, in this tangled thread, na original text, that recreate part of our colonial period destructively questioning the cristalized discourse bi the history and even by texts that compound our literary Canon. The texts used in the work of the paraense Haroldo Maranhão are reconstructed in a tone, especially ironic, revealing another viwe of the Colonization Process. With this, stating from literary production of countries with colonization similar to our, I begin the lecture considering some Works like Silviano Santiago, Antonio Candido and Roberto Schwarz. Besides that, we have to considerate historical and social aspects of the portuguese contract and of the speech constructed about the recent discovered lands and its inhabitants, speeches that will be reafirmed and reconstructed by the literary text. In this sense, there going to be utilized some XV sicle texts that will help to demonstrate the aspects of the colonial speech and sistematize them with base in Eni Orlandi, Homi Bhabha and Michel de Certau. Used as a reference, the cultural manifestations of African origin represented in the book in accordance with the theories guided under an optical connection-oriented between literary subjectivity and objectivity in history, supported on the concepts of social history proposed by Peter Burke, on the idea of culture of Terry Eagleton and cultural identity of Stuart Hall. These instruments allow observation of the African presence as an element of the composition of a cultural identity in the Amazon, in three aspects: the first, related to the lyricism, demonstrating especially in the s poems “Mãe Preta” and “Pai João”; the second directed to musicality, observed in poems like “Batuque” and “Alma e ritmo da raça” and the third concerns the religiosity, presented in poems like “Toiá Verequête” and “Oração da Cabra Preta”. These three aspects, what else arouse our attention was the religiosity, especially regarding the relationship between the sacred and the profane and the vision of good and evil, very evident in the work. The results obtained give us the idea that by reading the narrative memory of the author and its relation to the environment in which he lived, the environmental influences on the artistic creation of the poet and the production of a work focused on the cultural manifestations contribute significantly, for better understanding of the black people, present in the Brazilian culture.Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Benedito Nunes e a moderna crítica literária brasileira (1946-1969)(Universidade Estadual de Campinas, 2012-02-28) NASCIMENTO, Maria de Fátima do; KOCH, Ingedore Grunfeld VillaçaThis dissertation, about the literary criticism of Benedito Nunes, divided in two parts, is based on a variety of textual genres (attempts to write novels, poems, aphorisms, chronicles on science, poetry and philosophy, interviews, criticism on poetry and novels). In other words, this study is about Nunes‟ first texts on some newspapers of Belém do Pará: “Supplement of Art and Literature”, on the newspaper Folha do Norte (1946-1951), in which the author starts his career as a literary critic, also writing on magazines such as Encontro (1948) and Norte (1952). This study is also based on Benedito Nunes‟ writings on other newspapers of Brazil, such as the “Sunday Supplement” of Jornal do Brasil and on the supplements of journals like O Estado de São Paulo and O Estado de Minas Gerais (texts containing analysis of poems, novels and philosophy); and, still, Nunes‟ first books: O mundo de Clarice Lispector (1966) and O dorso do tigre (1969). The latter causes the writer to be considered one of the exponents of modern literary criticism in the second half of the twentieth century in Brazil, mainly of the works of art of writers who published from the decade of 1940 on, namely, Clarice Lispector, Guimarães Rosa and João Cabral de Melo Neto, just to name a few. The compilation of the texts published on journals, besides enabling the identification of the main readings of Benedito Nunes, which were incorporated to the conception of his criticism, considering some Christian philosophers as Saint Thomas Aquinas, Pascal, and, particularly, a precursor of existentialism, Kierkegaard, which will be constant in the analysis of the Brazilian author, makes it possible to trace the intellectual path followed by Benedito Nunes, specially as a literary critic. The writer will, lately, add the ideas of Sartre and Heidegger to his analysis. Specifically considering Heidegger, who Nunes studies throughout his whole life, it is possible to see the ontological conception of artistic creation by verbal language, which, to the German philosopher, corresponds to the foundation of the self by the word. Regarding the division of this study, the first part contains the intellectual path Benedito Nunes followed, as well as analysis of the material compiled from the newspapers and from the two books of this Brazilian critic. The second part contains a sample of the material which was compiled.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Candunga: fissuras do presente ressignificando uma certa Amazônia e um certo nordeste no romance de Bruno de Menezes(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009-08-28) WANZELER, Rodrigo de Souza; CASTILO, Luís Heleno Montoril del; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5839293025434267Since the 60’s of the last century, the studies about culture become more explored like tool of observation in many areas. The culture, in this sense, is so complexified by it be a result of a contact between different social groups and, so, to necessity of a deep study about its formation. The literature, in this context, reflects this cultural complexity. In this aspect, the literature, used like history and culture forms, is a great reference of information that can expose many mysteries about the cultural formation in different levels, from local to global. The conjuncture of a biggest intercultural contact reaches the Amazon area, being reflected, mainly, by the migratory aspect after the top of commercialization of rubber, the called boom of rubber, during the second part of 19th century and the first part of 20th century. The Bruno de Menezes’ literature, in Candunga, makes references to this reality linked to humans displacements, more directly gives focus to Railroad Belém-Bragança. In this sense, our focus of study will be the relation established between migrants northeastern and the Amazon caboclos, this last represented by the voice of Candunga’s narrator, detainer of a cultural discourse favorable to Amazon man of bragantina zone. We’ll perceive that occurs a cultural and identity conflict in many parts of Candunga by the emergency of differences between caboclos and northeastern. We’ll note an affirmation discourse, by the narrator, of Amazon culture in detriment of northeastern culture. But, we’ll don’t forget to emphasize the cultural hybridization present in the Bruno de Menezes’s novel.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) O cangaço em “Fogo morto” e em “Os Desvalidos”(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-10-29) MENESES, Antonio Alan Dantas de; FURTADO, Marli Tereza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2382303554607592This study aims to establish a comparative analysis between novels of the twentieth century Brazilian literature, regarding the approach taken by the works of social and historical phenomenon of the cangaço. The works Fogo Morto of José Lins do Rego and the Os Desvalidos of Francisco Dantas represent two different moments of northeast fictional production. The first work is inserted into the fiction of the '30s and '40s. The Fogo Morto consists in the tenth novel of the writer represented by character Jose Amaro, saddler that turns into helper outlaw Antonio Silvino. The second works published in 1993 represents regional fiction. The novel is based in the point of view of character Coriolano that unlike Jose Amaro he demonstrates hatred by cangaço represented by Lampião. The comparative analysis of the work was preceded by a historical study of the cangaço, as well as, the ambiguous characterization of the “cangaçeiro” presents in the northeast popular imagination. Indeed, the cangaceiro is represented as hero and sometimes seen as outlaw. The contradictory point of view appears in the two novels analyzed in this work. The historical approach of the cangaço is made from studies of authors such as Facó Rui (1983), Maria Isaura Pereira de Queiroz (1977) and Luis Bernardo Pericás (2010). It was also essential a brief survey of Camara Cascudo (2005) which helps to understand the cangaceiro as a regional folk hero. Finally, for the comparative study between of Fogo Morto and Os Desvalidos were used works of authors such as José Paulo Paes (1995) and Sonia Lucia Ramalho de Farias (2006), which supply important elements to relation between works of nature regionalist produced by writers from the Northeast.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Cartas literárias: cartografia sócio-literária de pessoas e paisagens de Belém a partir da poesia de Bruno de Menezes(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-11-29) SANTOS, Joice Freitas dos; FERNANDES, José Guilherme dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7023812449790431; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9946-4961This study proposes a new perspective on the intersection of Geography and Literature: a socio literary cartography of the poetry of Bruno de Menezes, taking into account the presence of people and landscapes in the space of Belém do Pará. The guiding question of this work was to demonstrate that Bruno de Menezes was a poet-cartographer, elucidating the relationship between fiction and cartography; investigating how spaces influenced the stylistics of his poetry; and establishing a comparison between the mentioned spaces as they are today and how they were at the time of his writings. In this sense, it contributes to the academic community by advancing studies on this black, peripheral, self-taught poet, who was a precursor of Modernism in the capital of Pará, in addition to continuing research on Literary Cartography, which, as we have shown, is still in a phase of deepening. As methodology, we utilized the main theories of literary cartography, synthesizing them into a table based on the Malha de Saberes created by Fernandes et al. (2021), presenting maps according to the theories of Moretti (2003) for spatial analysis, and classifying spatiality in the poems using the postulates of Ozíris (2007). The outcome of this research was a correlation between visual and textual elements, featuring maps and tables that synthesize the author's ability to portray the city in poetry. The reader will observe that the most recurring spaces in the poems were the neighborhoods of Jurunas, Cidade Velha, Campina, Umarizal, Telégrafo, Pedreira, and Sacramenta (Nazaré and Guamá appear a few times), with individuals who existed in the periphery of Belém during the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, yet whose existence was not recorded in official documents. This is the beginning of what we hope will be a return to society through the provision of maps and other technological resources for the public. Thus, this work aimed to show that the spaces of Belém have memory, narrating a portion of the history of the occupation of these places.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) A cartografia de Irene na trilogia de Lindanor Celina(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2008-06-25) PENHA, Maria das Neves de Oliveira; SILVA, Joel Cardoso da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6918547599708778This search is inserted in the thematic axle literature and culture to investigate the trilogy’s protagonist of the writer Lindanor Celina, composed by the works: Menina Que Vem de Itaiara, Estradas do Tempo-foi and Eram Seis Assinalados. Therefore, we investigated the body imagery in art history from Modernity, highlighting the intense surrealist influence and outstanding dehumanization of modern work of art, which undertakes man as artistic experience, promoting their stylization; thus we observe how these influences are projected in the poet collages. Faced with some theoretical approaches about the history of art, fragmentation and body, we consider the interpretation of Ernest Gombrich (1978), Eliane de Moraes (2010), Ortega Y Gasset (1999) and Viviane Matesco (2009). For the intertextual relations in the collages, we use the texts of Antoine Compagnon (2007), Affonso Romano de Sant'Anna (1983), Diana Barros, José Fiorin (1994) and Linda Hutcheon (1985) that support this argument.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) A crítica literária aos romances “Chove nos Campos de cachoeira”, “Marajó” e “Três casas e um rio” na imprensa do Rio de Janeiro(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-03-11) MOREIRA, Alex Santos; FURTADO, Marli Tereza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2382303554607592Discredited as a critical model, impressionistic criticism until the first half of the twentieth century dominated the literary debate in Brazil and its performance was hegemonic in the literary supplements of newspapers, magazines and weeklies. Thus, this paper studies the literary criticism in the press of the city of Rio de Janeiro on the first three novels of Pará Dalcídio Jurandir writer (1909-1979). Naming the introductory pages of this novel as Preface even more interesting than the novel , Josué de Castro stretches, going back in a time already considered anachronistic, the habit by prefatory writing, the conception of paratext amplified by Gerard Genette (1930), in Palimpsestes (1982). Introducing the hunger for childhood memories that he has, the author excites the readership's will to be closer to his seemingly childish naive, and also to his "inexperienced" thoughts of a fiction writer, the macrocosm of memories of hunger that served to him as port of departure for creating a playful and ravenous microcosm, in which the imagination and inability to complete re-presentation of the living language, rearrange the reality of the human condition, reinventing it for the dramatic articulation of formal elements, especially temporary space, narrator and character. Fiction sets in fragmented pace of adventures and misadventures assumed from the gaps of memory. Summaries will be the mnemonic studies, assessments of Henri Bergson in Matéria e memória (1896), Jacques Le Goff in História e memória (1924) and Maurice Halbwachs, the posthumous publication of A memória coletiva (1950), in the face of being subsidiaries sources the rapprochement between memory studies and literary activity. Hunger that is, since the molding character, which causes the dialogue of this research with the mode of apprehension which is given by Angela Faria, the dissertation Homens e caranguejos: uma trama interdisciplinar. However, his contact with the universe literate is not restricted to his fictional creation, the writer held intense activity in the press in general and the Communist press in particular. This last, due to his involvement with the Brazilian Communist Party (PCB), which was substantial for the grounds of thought "dalcidiano", both as regards the way to see the reality and its operation, as when targeting their artistic creation. In a poetic and vibrant way, the writer‟s short stories present the search for love and its failure, as weel as delineate man‟s anxieties, tensions and frustrations, which come from the experience of living and relating their feelings to other people. To develop this hypothesis, eight tales were analyzed, being divided into four tracks: love-incommunicability-loneliness, love-estrangement-fragmentation, love-selfishness-blame, love-degradation-death. In our reading, these tracks delineate and interlace the (mis)direction or (un)plots of romantic relationships in Lygia‟s tales and make it possible to analyze the social, ideological, philosophical and psychological values invested and/or virtualized in the narrative fabric, in order to examine and question the representations of love (des)constructed in the fictional universe of the writer.
