Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Memórias literarias de Belém do Pará: o grupo dos novos, 1946-1952(Universidade Estadual de Campinas, 2003) COELHO, Marinilce Oliveira; HARDMAN, Francisco Foot; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6440727019240185The newspaper supplement called “Suplemento Arte Literatura”, was part of the “A Folha do Norte”, issued in Belém, the capital of the state Pará in Brazil, from 1946 to 1951. It was a literature and literature critic exponent and it scooped the called “new generation” of poets, fictionists and local literature critics, besides Brazilian and foreign authors that represented the after-war literature spirit in Brazil. This supplement brought a literature life in the town when it broke up with the cultural isolation in which Belém had always been, compared with the other big cultural urban centers in the country. This is a detailed description and analysis of this supplement, including a description of the cultural environment during the urban expansion in Belém and the arise of a generation of young writers that preceded this period, from 1932 to 1929 and from 1938 to 1942 and, after the “Arte Literária”, the signs of depauperation of this experience.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) A representação alegórica da ditadura militar em “O Minossauro”, de Benedicto Monteiro: fragmentação e montagem(Universidade Estadual de Campinas, 2004-02-26) NASCIMENTO, Maria de Fátima do; SPERBER, Suzi Frankl; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3549874708098615This Dissertation Representação Alegórica da Ditadura Militar em O Minossauro, de Benedicto Monteiro: Fragmentação e Montagem makes an analysis of the allegorical elements characterized by the fragmentation and assembly of the work, the narrative strategies of the author, and the relationship between the work and the social context of military despotism in Brazil in the 1970s. The theoretical studies were complemented by interviews – with Benedicto Monteiro and other informers – that added important information to the enlightenment and systematization of questions relating the author’s life and work. The research found out – in O Minossauro, representative novel of the literary production of the region of Amazonas in the 1970s – Flagrant presence of allegorical elements (fragmentation end assembly) used in the narrative strategies by the writers of this period. These characteristics range the novel of the writer from Pará to his congeners of the 1970s. The importance of this novel is the fact that Benedicto Monteiro dialogued with this shadowy period of the Brazilian history and established a place: the state of Pará as a romantic character of the work, object of this Dissertation.Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Benedito Nunes e a moderna crítica literária brasileira (1946-1969)(Universidade Estadual de Campinas, 2012-02-28) NASCIMENTO, Maria de Fátima do; KOCH, Ingedore Grunfeld VillaçaThis dissertation, about the literary criticism of Benedito Nunes, divided in two parts, is based on a variety of textual genres (attempts to write novels, poems, aphorisms, chronicles on science, poetry and philosophy, interviews, criticism on poetry and novels). In other words, this study is about Nunes‟ first texts on some newspapers of Belém do Pará: “Supplement of Art and Literature”, on the newspaper Folha do Norte (1946-1951), in which the author starts his career as a literary critic, also writing on magazines such as Encontro (1948) and Norte (1952). This study is also based on Benedito Nunes‟ writings on other newspapers of Brazil, such as the “Sunday Supplement” of Jornal do Brasil and on the supplements of journals like O Estado de São Paulo and O Estado de Minas Gerais (texts containing analysis of poems, novels and philosophy); and, still, Nunes‟ first books: O mundo de Clarice Lispector (1966) and O dorso do tigre (1969). The latter causes the writer to be considered one of the exponents of modern literary criticism in the second half of the twentieth century in Brazil, mainly of the works of art of writers who published from the decade of 1940 on, namely, Clarice Lispector, Guimarães Rosa and João Cabral de Melo Neto, just to name a few. The compilation of the texts published on journals, besides enabling the identification of the main readings of Benedito Nunes, which were incorporated to the conception of his criticism, considering some Christian philosophers as Saint Thomas Aquinas, Pascal, and, particularly, a precursor of existentialism, Kierkegaard, which will be constant in the analysis of the Brazilian author, makes it possible to trace the intellectual path followed by Benedito Nunes, specially as a literary critic. The writer will, lately, add the ideas of Sartre and Heidegger to his analysis. Specifically considering Heidegger, who Nunes studies throughout his whole life, it is possible to see the ontological conception of artistic creation by verbal language, which, to the German philosopher, corresponds to the foundation of the self by the word. Regarding the division of this study, the first part contains the intellectual path Benedito Nunes followed, as well as analysis of the material compiled from the newspapers and from the two books of this Brazilian critic. The second part contains a sample of the material which was compiled.
