The study analyzed the participation of family producers in agricultural production in Pará. Because of this, the work is part of the
following problem: How is family farming (PA) in Pará characterized and how has it contributed to rural development in the state of
Pará? The methodology used was quali-quantitative, based on secondary data through database research, such as the Brazilian Institute
of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and specialized bibliography with regard to the theme AF. The results showed that agricultural
production is strongly associated with family farming, which proved to be competitive even with producers of more intense agriculture.
