Strong reason to reuse organic waste and thus help in the ecosystem balance of nature. From that, one of the reasons for developing this research is the need that family farmers have to buy fertilizer monthly, which ends up compromising the economic profitability of some producers, however, the main objective of this work was to produce fertilizer and raise awareness. To properly dispose of organic waste. The research was based on the community of Camurituba-Beira in the municipality of Abaetetuba-Pá, where eight farmers participated, through official theory and practice in the production of fertilizer, with the socioeconomic survey as an instrument of data collection. The results obtained were 90 kg of fertilizer being tested in some crops to check the quality, in addition, the survey showed that the production of fertilizer by farmers can reduce the expenses with the purchase of this compost. Therefore, the research had socio-environmental relevance, since it worked to raise awareness of the correct disposal of waste, as well as pointing out a possible solution for reducing the purchase of fertilizer.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Desenvolvimento local e óleo de palma na Amazônia: interfaces entre o global e o local(Universidade da Amazônia, 2013-11) SILVA, Elielson Pereira daItem Acesso aberto (Open Access) A importância do Projeto de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (PDS) para a criação de novos assentamentos rurais na Amazônia: uma análise para Altamira no estado do Pará(Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária, 2022) FARIAS, Monique Helen Cravo Soares; CARVALHO, André Cutrim; SANTOS, Cleber Assis dos; BELTRÃO, Norma Ely Santos; SILVA JUNIOR, Monaldo Begot daThe rural settlements have become one of the main elements of rural areas in the Legal Ama zon, representing almost a third of used land and almost 74% of rural establishments. The State of Pará concentrates the largest number of settled families in the country, with more than 30% of its area covered by settlements. On the other hand, from a historical point of view, it has been one of the states that most deforests in the region. In the search for effective rural development, it is essential to think about feasi ble and viable productive alternatives that avoid the exodus of small farmers from rural areas, making it necessary to develop and make viable family farming in Pará. One of the practical manifestations of the association of agrarian reform to the environmental issue began with the creation of the settlement model called the Sustainable Development Project (PDS). Thus, the main objective of this article is to analyze the importance of the Sustainable Development Project (PDS) in the municipality of Altamira, Pará, with emphasis on the development of the Brasília PDS, verifying its effectiveness in reconciling productive activity and respect for the environment. The main conclusion is that in relation to PDS Brasília, there is a need for articulation between the actors involved – settlers, public authorities, non-governmental organizations –, which can make it possible to raise awareness of the new necessary production practices, as well as technical support. - financial compatible with the reality of this type of project, thus aiming at sustainable local development.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Mitigação de impactos ambientais em assentamentos rurais: o papel da Universidade na construção do conhecimento agroecológico(Revistas Brasileiras Publicações de Periódicos e Editora Ltda., 2022-05) COSTA, Karolinny Carneiro Guerra; MANESCHY, Rosana Quaresma; QUEIROZ, Jaqueline Fontel de; MELLO, Andréa Hentz deThe objective was to systematize the agroecological practices designed and tested to mitigate environmental impacts in Southeast Pará, as well as the contribution of the Federal University of Pará in the construction of agroecological knowledge in the region. The research had a qualitative approach, based on the analysis of bibliographic and documentary material. He admitted that these funds have contributed to the growth of agricultural production in the region, having a relevant role in food production, as well as in the generation of income and pricing policy in the field. The results revealed that: each State has its own dynamics with regard to the rural sector, with a greater or lesser degree, depending on the agrarian structure and the performance of public policies directed to that segment; some States have low credit demand of FNO/Pronaf for reasons as agrarian conflicts and casting of rural activities arising from laws relating to environmental protection; There are concentration of resources granted for the expansion of the production of the AF held by groups with higher income levels, and only some States specialize in the agricultural sector.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Pastagens arborizadas no projeto de assentamento benfica, município de Itupiranga, Pará, Brasil(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-08) SANTOS, Alessio Moreira dos; MITJA, DanielleIn the microregion of Marabá - Pará, the cattle pastures of the family farmers present a high diversity of trees and palm trees which have an important role in limiting biodiversity degradation and for its utilities. The study was carried out in 26 properties, where 62 cattle pastures were visited with the farmer. In each cattle pasture, it was listed all trees and palm trees present in the area. Seventy-one species were found, belonging to 32 families of which 9 were stood out with the greatest number of species: Caesalpiniaceae (11), Mimosaceae (10), Arecaceae (4), Lecythidaceae (4), Bignoniaceae (3), Fabaceae ( 3), Moraceae (3), Sapotaceae (3) and Sterculiaceae (3); twenty families present one single species. Twenty-four species (34% of total) belonged to 3 Leguminosae families (Fabaceae, Caesalpiniaceae and Mimosaceae). The tree species are held mainly because of the various uses on the property. Out of the 21 species, suitable for afforestation of cattle pasture of farmers of this and other communities, 9 species are particularly recommended because of their fire resistance and for many years of grazing, and because they have two or more uses: Caryocar villosum (Aubl.) Pers., Bertholletia excelsa H. B. K., Attalea speciosa Mart. ex Spreng., Oenocarpus distichus Mart., Astrocaryum tucuma Mart., Swartzia flaemingii Raddi, Apeiba tibourbou Aubl., Cenostigma tocantinum Ducke, Spondias mombin L.
