Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Discurso político, mídia e ação parlamentar: a Amazônia no Congresso Nacional(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-12-04) CUNHA, Elaide Martins da; CASTRO, Edna Maria Ramos de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4702941668727146This research paper, with an interdisciplinary approach, transits through both political and media fields in order to display the content of the discourses of the propositions, actions and interviews of the members of the Amazon, National Integration and Regional Development Committee (CAINDR), of the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies. By indicating whether ‘Development’ and ‘Sustainability’ themes are embedded or not in public policies constructed in this forum, this thesis main purpose is to identify which kind of development this Committee stands up for and how The Amazon is portraited by its members. Through a detailed survey of projects, applications, documents, speeches and actions of lawmakers who formed the committee at the 52nd Legislature (2003-2006), as well as the relevant media production related to certain actions and propositions presented at CAINDR, went for the Speech Analysis. More than a methodological tool, Speech Analysis constitutes a theoretical and methodological approach, essentially interdisciplinary, that enables the understanding of discursive strategies in a particular social field. Analyzing the meanings of speeches, marks or clues left in the production of senses, as well as elucidate the social place of production (relations) and the voices convened by the speeches in this forum, allow identifying what is their priority and how they portray the Amazon – result that is even more interesting when you come across the news in question, placing the relation between the political and the media fields. In this sense, the Social Field Theory was adopted as a theoretical reference for this research, not only by seeking to understand relations and representations of the social world. In this sense, adopting the Social Field Theory as a theoretical reference has confirmed itself as the best choice for this research, not only by seeking to understand relations and representations of the social world, but also by helping locate, in dispute for symbolic power, the central thrust of interests and strategies of actors from the studied social field. The result of this research was rewarding and allowed confirming its central point: that development model defended by CAINDR prioritizes the progress of frontiers and markets over the environmental issues – continuing the exploitative and concentrator model which rules for such a long time in the Brazilian Amazon.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Medidas memoriais e usos políticos da ditadura civil-militar brasileira na era FHC (1995-2002)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-06) KLASSMANN, Júlia BologniniThe present text investigates the political uses of the Brazilian civil-military dictatorship under Fernando Henrique Cardoso’s presidency (1995-2002), analyzing the memorial measures undertaken by his government (such as the Law of the Disappeared, the first implemented during the New Republic), and the signing of the Decree 4.553, which reinforces secrecy of State documents. Also analyzed are the official mentions of the military regime in his presidential speeches, mainly on occasions of commemorative celebrations or of the launching related policies. The research comes from the understanding that these, as well as the presidential speeches, represent a state effort to stabilize the battles of memory through the institutionalization of a unique narrative about the past. This survey points out that FHC, although presenting relatively progressive management of the dictatorial past for the Latin American context of the time, maintains the conciliatory pact that shaped the political transition in the late 1980s and instrumentalizes the memory of authoritarianism favoring his liberal economic project.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) A transitividade em textos da propaganda política eleitoral gratuita televisionada: uma abordagem funcional(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2005-03-23) DUARTE, Raimunda Dias; MACÊDO, Célia Maria Macêdo de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6785761329285276This study analyses fifty speeches produced for television during Horário Político Eleitoral Gratuito (HPEG) of the elections of 2002 in the state of Pará. The theoretical background lays on the Systemic-Functional Grammar of Halliday (1994) and the study about the Communicative Style of the HPEG of Albuquerque (1999). The research investigates the lexico-grammatical choices made in the transitivity system to uncover how the speaker´s world experiences are construed in the texts produced. It also investigates how the kinds of messages of the Communicative Style of the HPEG are expressed in the texts. The results show that Material and Relational processes are the two main processes most used by politicians. These choices are used as persuasive strategies as they express what the candidate has done and/or will do in case he is elected. They also tell the community that the candidate has the qualities and abilities desired in a politician.
