“Beatriz era mais fêmea que mulher”: feminilidade e masculinidade pela imprensa de Belém (1940)

In this work we will try to analyze the speeches about femininity and masculinity, using the articles from the newspapers from Belém and other capitals, which reported and updated their constituents daily with information about the crimes, imprisonment and death of a woman named Beatriz da Conceição, during 1940s. The society of the time defined spaces and behaviors for women and men, from which they could be in the order or disorder line, according to values and conducts. So, using control mechanisms - medical and legal guidelines - in order to keep an eye on the subjects and their bodies, the speeches about feminine and masculine standards were daily disseminated through the newspapers. It was so important to follow the imposed rules that the newspapers of large or small circulation - Folha Vespertina, Folha do Norte, O Estado do Pará, A Província do Pará, A Vanguarda, and O Liberal - when reporting the proceedings about Beatriz, brought in their narratives partial perspectives, value judgments about what was allowed or condemnable to women and men. And in this discursive dynamics about the standards in the public and private areas - woman of modesty, mother, prostitute, working man, murderer, and others - the complexity of the subjects allowed us to understand the multiple femininities and masculinities, considering the social markers of the individuals, also going through issues related to sexuality, crimes, honor, morality and violence.

Os castanhais do sudeste do Pará: cotidianos e discursos (1930-1964)

The main objective of this research is to show that political factors were fundamental in the formation of the economic structure of Brazil Nut Zones in southeastern Pará, and that their development was marked by the ideologies and the political engagement of three leaders, namely Deodoro Machado de Mendonça, Joaquim de Magalhães Cardoso Barata and Nagib Mutran. With them, the Brazil Nut Zones in southeastern Pará were regulated, and the main period of political partisan intervention was registered between 1930 and 1964. We highlight, initially, the regulations employed in 1930, by the Intervenor of Pará Magalhães Barata, whose attitude contradicted the claims of the of previous Governments, representing the traditional landowner elite, especially Deodoro de Mendonça. At that moment, were born the political disputes that determined the dynamics of the Brazil Nut production in the region, characterized by baratism and antibaratism. This rivalry at state level was transferred to the Brazil Nut Zones of southeastern Pará by the local leader, Nagib Mutran. Thus, the political dispute over the Brazil Nut Zones remained until 1951, when Barata was defeated in the elections for governor of Pará. Since then, the federal projects for the economic valorization of the Amazon region, initiated in 1952, accelerated the appropriations of lands in the southeastern part of the state, which led to the weakening of the extractive economy and the economic collapse of the region's Brazil Nut Zones in the early 1960s. However, the Brazil Nut Zones in southeastern Pará were not confined to discourses and economic projects. Parallel to them, inside the production zones, there were the local Brasil Nut gatherers with their daily actions, peculiar to the environment of the forest. Because the Brazil nut economy is a seasonal activity, these inhabitants of the zones have become accustomed to other activities that, in turn, made part of the daily life in the forest. The inhabitants of the Brazil Nut Zones were not only gatherers, they were also farmers, hunters, fishermen and devotees. These activities, because they were all important and routine, directed the inhabitants of the Brazil Nut Zones to regulate their daily actions with a certain autonomy, not always in accordance with the political decisions.

Concepções de infância e educação nos discursos do periódico a escola – revista official de ensino do pará (1900 a 1905)

Esta investigación tiene como objeto de investigación los discursos sobre niño y educación para la niñez presentes en los textos del periódico "A Escola - Revista Oficial de Enseñanza" que fue publicada en Belém do Pará en los años 1900 a 1905. Siguiendo en las líneas de investigación en Historia de la niñez y en Historia de la Educación en la Primera República, el trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar, discursivamente, la concepción de niño y de educación para la niñez presentes en estos discursos. Para ello, se seleccionaron, para el análisis, textos de los géneros Texto de Opinión y Poema que apuntan a discursos sobre niñez y educación. Se elaboró un inventario - apéndice- que presenta los años de publicación de la revista, los géneros encontrados en las secciones y una descrición de estas. Para un mejor análisis de esos discursos, se crearon cuatro categorías cuyas temáticas se encuentran presentes en las ediciones recogidas y en una mayor ocurrencia: niñez y papeles sociales; la niñez, el patriotismo y la formación ciudadana; la niñez y la familia; y la niñez y la escuela. Fueran seleccionados para la fundamentación teórica sobre História de la niñez y de la educación en la Primera República – contexto en que se pasa esta investigación – teóricos como Ariès (1981), Rizzini (2011), Gondra (2000), Kuhlmann Jr. (1998; 2001; 2002), Saviani (2008), entre otros, y para la fundamentación teórica sobre los impresos educacionales , teóricos como Nóvoa (1997), Caspard (1981), Fernandes (2008) , Chartier (2009) entre otros. Además, esta investigación hizo un análisis del discurso a partir de la perspectiva analítico-discursiva de Mikhail Bakhtin (1997; 2002; 2006) cuyos resultados apuntaran para una concepción de niñez y de educación para la niñez en un momento en que ellas eran vistas como el futuro ciudadano de la sociedad moderna que necesitaba de cuidados.

Estratégias discursivas da Vale S.A. e a construção do pensamento sobre o desenvolvimento da Amazônia

Vale S.A. mining company is a transnational company, present in 30 countries, and one of the largest mining companies in the world. In the Brazilian Amazon, it has operated for more than three decades, mainly with the Grande Carajás Program and recently with the S11D Project, a project to expand iron ore extraction activities in the Serra de Carajás, in the state of Pará. Through Discourse and Enunciation Analysis (VERÓN, 2004), this research examines how the discourses produced on the mining company’s website are constructed in the page entitled “S11D Eliezer Batista Complex”, based on the development ideals disclosed by the company. The S11D is considered by critics in the mining sector to be the continuation of the PGC, now with the prospect of doubled profits. The analysis considered that the mining company contributes to the construction of ideals on development in the Amazon, based on the idea of economic growth, ignoring the discourses that represent the territories and social subjects of the region where it operates.

Kyikatejê: entre o campo e a aldeia

This thesis aims to analyze the discourse on the Indian football team Gavião Kyikatêjê circulating in audiovisual products. Our analysis corpus includes articles published in SporTV Reporter, The League, Spectacular Sport, Sport Tv Reporter is a matter of the UOL website. These productions update a colonial discourse on indigenous societies. The Indian subject stopped in time, living in a remote village without knowledge of techniques used in football and making use only of physical strength and not intellectual strength at the football game are some of recurrences present in these videos that talk about the football indian tema Gaviões Kyikatêjê. For this research, we appropriate the archaeological method proposed by Michel Foucault (2013) to analyze the recurrences and dispersions and memories networks that composes the selected materialities.

O Mestre e o Psicanalista: tecendo laços nas políticas públicas

The psychoanalytic discourse insertion into public health institutions causes some technical and ethical deadlocks for confronting the singularity of “an individual”, that is an aim of psychoanalysis, to the kind of healthcare employed by public policies of attention and care “for all” users of certain categories. This fact has made many psychoanalysts to wonder about important points of this experience, for example the role of subject in healthcare services, whose emergency gets subservient to the master’s discourse, which structures the institutional relations. How to keep the specificity of the psychoanalytical praxis in the institutional context, in which bonds are structured by the master’s discourse? How do agreements and disagreements between discourses of master and psychoanalyst happen? The Psychoanalysis, according to the Freudian-Lacanian orientation, responds to these issues taking into account the analyst's discourse peculiarity and treatment of the subject of the unconscious from what Lacan called psychoanalysis applied to therapy, which makes possible the inclusion of psychoanalysis the institution.

O planejamento de ensino educacional como estratégia de mudança da educação escolar

The present text, based on preliminar reflections, aims to highlight the importance of teaching educational planning in its different levels, and characterize the different conceptions (pedagogical-philosophical trends of teaching planning in the collective construction of schooling change, and how they assume strategic roles in such changes. The reflections are based on bibliographic studies that allow the discussion of discourses constructed on school education planning in different times and spaces. As the goal of greater reach it was possible to highlight the inportance of the new tendencies of the school education planning for the construction of subjectives with political views in cultural discussions and struggles fields

As raízes discursivas da intervenção militar na Amazônia

This article aims to compare the attempts of the military dictatorship in the Amazon and the discourses of the early stages of colonization in the region. It is understood that a fundamental part of the archaeological method is the construction of the image archive with certain knowledge relates. Thus, the military rationality that has the Amazonian issue at its core will be investigated in the light of the discourses presented during the first contacts of Europeans with the region. Emphasis will be given to the records of the first conquerors, as well as those who went to the Amazon in the eighteenth century, the so-called naturalistic travelers. Having some of these historical accounts, some comparisons will be made with what the military dictatorship postulates throughout the 1960s and 1980s. The purpose is to compose the roots of derivation of the discourse established by the military to support their policies; point out their references and accuse the dialogue they establish with other historicities.

“Vergonhosas Saturnais”: a experiência prostibular em Belém do Pará (1900-1945)

In this thesis I analyze the medical, hygienist, legal and police discourses on prostitution in Belém from 1900 to 1945, and how the prostitutes were protagonists and active in the face of these control mechanisms. The prostitutes who circulated in the republican and modern Belém lived in a socio-economic and culturally diverse space, a city of codes, rules and symbols influenced by the Belle Époque, a period in which prostitution gained greater visibility, previously reclusive to private care, the prostitute began to expose herself in the streets, boulevards and cafes. From the discourses on prostitution, I present the cultural changes and the implementation of new codes and rules of behavior. The arrival of foreign and national women in the Amazon. Discussions and narratives about the "white traffic" and the crusade against caftism. Through the crimes of pimping that the owners of pensions and brothels responded, I expose how the brothel world was profitable and contributed to the city's economy. How they acted doctors, hygienists and public authorities in an attempt to implement hygienic and disciplinary measures in the homes of prostitutes. I present the cases of infanticide and abortions committed by prostitutes and how they were judged and their acts displayed to society. an unwanted pregnancy. I discuss the institutionalization of medicine in Belém and what are the medical thoughts about the female body. I describe the arrival of the services of Prophylaxis of Venereal Diseases within the context of sanitarianism. The concern of doctors with the prostitutes defined as the main responsible for the “venereal disease.” Measures to regulate prostitution and initiatives to control to oar and to fix the women in a determined place to only exercise the prostitution there. I approach the moral discourses and how the prostitutes were not intimidated by this resource that tried to stop the sale of sex and their freedom to come and go in the city. I point out that the presence of alcohol and drunkenness was used by the judicial apparatus to incarcerate and control prostitutes. Finally, I tell a little about the affective life of the prostitutes, their loves, passions and the violence they suffered, for not fulfilling the desired model/standard of a woman.
