Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A cidade e as águas: os impactos da expansão urbana na bacia do rio Tabocal, Melgaço, Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-10-10) MONTE, Marilene Costa Viegas do; MANESCHY, Rosana Quaresma; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5914095913079907; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4432-7331; SOARES, Daniel Araújo Sombra; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6446474471044694; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5208-2429Urban expansion along water courses has generated socio-environmental impacts related to forms of occupation and use of natural resources. The study aimed to analyze the socio-environmental impacts on the affected population in the municipality of Melgaço, in the state of Pará, to support the Participatory Municipal Master Plan, with technical information, for more efficient management of local public authorities. Melgaço, is located at the joint mouth of the Amazon River basin and the Tocantins River basin. The dissertation was organized in the following chapter format: Chapter 2, presents the theoretical framework, adopted in the research with the concepts mobilized to understand the theme studied - Cities and rivers in the Amazon a history of denial, concepts of anthropocene, political ecology, justice environmental and territorial, right to the city, sustainable city, environmental policies, environmental management and local development. Chapter 3 presents the geoenvironmental characterization of the area under study - Characteristics of the Tabocal River Basin, (altimetry, drainage, geology, slope, geomorphology, pedology and land use), geographic location, historical formation and participatory cartography. Chapter 4 explains the city's relations over and under water - The paradox of the city and water, urban expansion, socio-environmental impacts, reports from residents, and public authorities' views on the city's environmental management. And in Chapter 5, alternatives and proposals for local management are represented, providing greater sustainability to actions developed in urban space - The city and waters, sustainable cities, diagnosis and prognosis for mitigating negative impacts. The research was carried out from 2022 to 2023. The main relevant results: reports from interviewees, photographs, aerial images, participatory cartography workshop, production of maps through geoprocessing, technical note as a subsidy for the preparation of the Coastal Management Plan for Melgaço, based on SDGs 06 and 11. It is concluded that this study allows reflections, a path to new horizons, providing positive subsidies for mitigating impacts. Understanding a rethinking with environmental wisdom and social justice, built based on endogenous needs, in partnership with local public authorities, development aimed at sustainability.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Conflito e gestão ambiental na zona costeira amazônica: o caso da vila do Camará, reserva extrativista (RESEX) marinha mestre lucindo, Marapanim - Pará - Amazônia - Brasil(Revistas Brasileiras Publicações de Periódicos e Editora Ltda., 2020-03) SANTOS, Márcia Cristina; LOPES, Luís Otávio do Canto; BASTOS, Rodolpho Zahluth; FENZL, Norbert; MERLIN, Lise Vieira da Costa Tupiassu; SOARES, Daniel Araújo SombraThe present study identified the existing socio-environmental conflicts and the main problems of environmental management in Vila de Camará, in the Marine Ext activist Reserve (RESEX) “Mestre Lucindo”. In this perspective, the relevance of this work consists of analyzing a community within a recently established Amazon Conservation Unit (UC) situation, which shares a great natural resources wealth. Considering that RESEX is in the management initial stages, the reflection on the existence of such conflicts and the measures taken by the managing body, in the figure of ICMBio, as well as the proposal of strategies capable of reducing such conflicts, make this study still more important. The methodological steps carried out were: bibliographic / documentary review and field visits. The main socioenvironmental conflicts verified at the site were: extremely conflicting land distribution; environmental degradation at Lembe Beach and overfishing. When focusing on Lembe Beach, two conflicts stand out: the irregular construction of tents (bars and restaurants) and the disposal of their waste directly in the sea / mangrove.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Correlação entre índice de qualidade da água e usos múltiplos na bacia hidrográfica do igarapé da Prata, Capitão Poço/PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-02-06) RODRIGUES, Rodrigo Silvano Silva; FERNANDES, Lindemberg Lima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4641468846318922Water quality indicators are important tools for the summary and generation of solid foundations about water resources degradation. The Water Quality Index of the Environmental Company of the State of São Paulo (WQI-CETESB) is the main water quality index used in Brazil. In relation between water quality and degradation in drainage basins, it is common to associate multiple uses of soil and water. This research correlates the WQI-CETESB to multiple uses of water and soil at three collection sites in the Prata catchment, located in the municipality of Capitão Poço / PA, about 154 km east of Belém / PA. It is a rural area in northeast Pará with intense agricultural activities. It was carried out eighteen campaigns with twenty-three collections, being that are twelve ones in the rainy season and eleven ones in the less rainy season. The index was calculated from the analysis of its nine parameters: turbidity, dissolved oxygen (DO), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), total nitrogen, total phosphorus, total solids, pH, temperature and thermotolerant coliforms. The descriptive statistics was applied to synthesize the obtained data. The morphometry of the drainage areas of the collection sites was analyzed in order to understand the influence of these physical characteristics on the water quantity and quality. Soil use and coverage were mapped using georeferencing tools. The association between WQI-CETESB results and multiple uses was verified by checking the variables with the greatest influence on the value obtained for the index. Based on the WQI-CETESB, the water quality in the Prata catchment ranges between the categories Fair and Good. The values obtained in the majority did not present significant variations for the different periods (rainy and less rainy). The descriptive statistics proved to be efficient for the analysis of the results obtained from WQI-CETESB. The morphometric analysis of the drainage areas showed that the shape and the topography are not factors that impact the water quantity and quality in the catchment. The mapping of soil use and coverage and activities related to multiple uses of water, showed to be efficient as an aid in the visualization of local dynamics. The variables that most influenced the results were thermotolerant coliforms, pH, DO, BOD and total phosphorus, with representativeness associated to the three collection sites studied. The main sources of pollution raised by the mapping are strongly related to the results obtained. Targets for quality improvement and mitigation measures should be established with the aim of reducing local water degradation.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Governança ambiental: demonstrativo para unidades de conservação no município de Ananindeua/PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-12-06) SANTOS, Fernanda Gabrielle Filiphina Paixão dos; SIMONIAN, Ligia Terezinha Lopes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6620574987436911; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6690-7244The research sought to develop a specific instrument to support the participation of the population in decisions that affect well-being in conservation units (UC), having as their ambit the municipal conservation units Parque Ambiental Antônio Danúbio and Museu Parque do Seringal, both located in Ananindeua-Pará-Brazil. The results of the research are aimed at verifying the governance structure existing in the municipal conservation units of Ananindeua; develop a protocol with the necessary requirements to highlight the UC's heritage; and test the applicability of the instrument to the municipal conservation units of Ananindeua. With the qualitative approach and the hybridism resulting from the use of dialectic and deductive methods, the work brought together a set of research techniques and varied sources of evidence. The techniques used were bibliographic, field research, image production and study, multiple cases and Likert scale. The sources of evi dence we re documents, records in archives, interviews, direct observation and physical artifacts. As research products, two cartographic maps of the two UC were elaborated; organization and execution of an improvement course for UC's employees and other interested parties; development of an assessment protocol for environmental and social wealth, considering non- economic-financial aspects; and development of the Social and Environmental Statement for Conservation Units (DSAUC). In addition, DSAUC underwent interdisciplinary technical analysis for validation as an instrument. Of the validators, 71.4% agreed that the DSAUC can be an instrument for measuring environmental and social wealth in UC. Of the respondents, 85.7% confirm the need for a specific statement to inform environmental and social issues in UC. Of the respondents, 42.9% are not satisfied with the traditional accounting statements to inform environmental and social issues. DSAUC proved to be easy to understand regar ding env ironmental and social wealth, corresponding to 85.7% of the validators. The instrument also proved to be a stimulus to increase the number of visitors in the UC, since 100% of the validators were interested in visiting or returning to the Parque Ambiental Antônio Danúbio and/or the Museu Parque do Parque do Seringal.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Impactos das mudanças de uso da terra nas áreas prioritárias para conservação da biodiversidade no nordeste do estado do Pará, Brasil(Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi, 2018-04) COELHO, Andréa dos Santos; TOLEDO, Peter Mann de; VIEIRA, Ima Célia Guimarães; LOPES, Luís Otávio do Canto; ADAMI, Marcos; GOMES, Alessandra Rodrigues; NARVAES, Igor da SilvaThe Northeastern region of Pará (MNP) has 56.4% of its deforested territory. However, the region has great ecological importance, which can be demonstrated by the identification of 28 Priority Areas for Conservation (CPA) within the scope of the Project for the Conservation and Use of Brazilian Biological Diversity (PROBIO). The objective of this work was to identify and quantify the vegetation cover and land use in the MNP and compare it with the priority areas for biodiversity conservation. To fulfill the objectives, we used vector land use and land cover data with the APC and protected areas of the region. The results show that only 3% of the CPA are under some protection. Areas identified as ‘extremely high’ priority have already lost 55.6% of their original forest cover, while ‘very high’ priority areas have lost its original forest cover by 49%. It is essential to expand the environmental protection system in the region.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O Processo de municipalização da gestão ambiental em municípios do sudeste do Pará: desafios, estratégias e benéficos para a Gestão Pública Municipal(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-06-22) BARROS, Paulo Antônio Martins Pereira; SILVA, Fábio Carlos da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3704903975084467; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5266-9935The state of Pará, currently, carries out an intense policy of decentralizing its environmental management, granting responsibilities and competences, once centralized in the hands of state power, to the municipalities of Pará. It is a notorious fact that the municipal sphere has historically always suffered from a lack of good work structures, managerial deficiencies, political influences and the lack of trained human capital to meet local demands. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the institutional capacity of environmental management in the municipalities of Marabá, Redenção and Parauapebas, from the analysis of the aspects of infrastructure, human resources, financial management and cooperative management, thus describing the current moment of municipalization of environmental management in these municipalities and their current performance. The survey of the main environmental theories as well as the legal legal foundations in the area of the environment were carried out through documentary analysis and the legal framework. Considering that municipalized environmental management is a federative commitment, since the municipality is inserted in a shared and decentralized management system with the Union, the States and the Federal District, theoretical contributions of the decentralization of public policies in their social dimension were also used . The methodology used in this dissertation used a questionnaire applied to local managers, covering themes of 5 variables (current legislation, basic infrastructure, human resources, social participation and financial management) that run through the structural, financial and cooperative segments, which together form the institutional capacity concept. After collecting such information, an individual analysis of each municipality object of this study was carried out, presenting, in a direct and holistic way, a portrait of each municipal environment secretariat in terms of operational, organizational and institutional aspects. Following the analysis, a comparative and integrated study of the three chosen environmental departments was then carried out, as a way of presenting the reader with the strengths and weaknesses, challenges, strategies, difficulties and benefits that environmental management brings with it at the moment when the municipality assumes its ownership. With this perception and analyzing the results, this study found certain deficiencies exposed in the municipalized environmental management and as a way to eradicate them or mitigate their harmful effects, presented proposals for guidelines to optimize the municipalization of environmental management in the State of ParáItem Acesso aberto (Open Access) Segurança de barragens de rejeitos e impactos ambientais: uma revisão sobre a mineração de caulim em uma região amazônica(Instituto Tocantinense de Educação Superior e Pesquisa, 2023-12) SILVA, Matheus Cavalcante; MOREIRA, Debora Dias Costa; ISHIHARA, Júnior Hiroyuki; MONTE, Christiane do Nascimento; SELFE, Ana Cristina Cavalcante; SOUZA, Jadelene Ramos de; FRANÇA, Carlos David VeigaIn Brazil, the state of Pará has received attention, especially for the production and processing of kaolin. On the other hand, the demand for such mineral inputs has led to the growth of tailings production, which represents risks, which can be evidenced in recent disasters involving mining dams. This study consists of a systematic bibliographical review and aimed at discussing related methods of processing, kaolin storage and numerous incidents involving waste leaks, in order to support actions to detect the most impacted areas. The results demonstrated that the processing of kaolin ore in the study area is carried out via the wet process. Kaolin tailings storage systems in Barcarena-PA are more unsafe in relation to alternative disposal systems, resulting in events of kaolin tailings leaking into regional water bodies and spreading areas used for bathing.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Terminologia aplicada à produção científica sobre gestão ambiental: diretrizes à elaboração de um microtesauro(Escola de Ciência da Informação da UFMG, 2017-03) MAIA, Paulo Cesar Chagas; VASCONCELLOS SOBRINHO, Mário; CONDURÚ, Marise TelesThe article provides an overview about the debate on environmental management in the Amazon in the light of the terminology used in the scientific production of the Postgraduate Programs (PPGs) authorized by the Federal agency called CAPES. It takes as reference the Interdisciplinary and Environmental Science thematic areas. Particularly, the article shows an example of the key terms and concepts used in the construction of the regional knowledge from the Postgraduate researches in Amazon. The theoretical study framework is grounded in the literature on environmental management, terminology, indexing language and thesaurus. Methodologically, the work follows a qualitative method using paper source. The data were collected by the analysis of 332 master dissertations and 43 PhD theses. It was used a terminological form to deal with the documents and then to collect, extract and to standard the environmental terms (concepts) used in the scientific production of the PPGs. The assessed terminology allows to organize and systematize the terms and concepts used, thus building a micro-thesaurus. The construction of this micro-thesaurus with its terminological relationships and environmental management specificities contributes to recover environmental information and also for its proper use in the knowledge management.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Zoneamento geoambiental a partir das unidades de conservação: subsídios para a gestão integrada da zona costeira paraense - Brasil(Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, 2020) ABREU, Walber Lopes de; ROCHA, Gilberto de Miranda; FLORES, Maria do Socorro Almeida; RIBEIRO, Érika Renata Farias; TAMASAUSKAS, Carlos Eduardo Pereira; GASS, Sidnei Luís BohnStudies and the legal framework on the coastal zone in Brazil point to the need to develop the territorial planning of their occupation and ordering through the Economic-Ecological Zoning (ZEE) with a view to promoting the integrated management of natural resources with their preservation and conservation. In the Brazilian Amazon, the Protected Areas or Conservation Units (UC) are known as instruments of environmental management and were established for the purpose of conserving and preserving both inland and coastal environmental resources. In the Paraense Coastal Zone (ZCPA), UCs still suffer the effects of the absence of instruments that do not allow their effectiveness in the constitution of new protected scenarios. This article aims to present a proposal for ZCPA Geoenvironmental Zoning from the UCs established as a subsidy and contribution to environmental planning, having as analysis methodology the zoning proposed from the Hierarchical Analytical Process - AHP and the DPSIR model (Força, Pressure, State, Impact, Response). The Zoning presented can be used as an environmental diagnosis for the exercise of management and use of the territory as a starting point for the implementation of a territorial planning policy for the Coastal Zone of Pará (ZCPA).
