Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Batuque: reverberação da memória na vidência de identidades afro-amazônicas(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-01-24) PEREIRA, Edvaldo Santos; SIMÕES, Maria do Perpétuo Socorro Galvão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0672011058049782This dissertation is the product of an analytical study of the book of poems Batuque, of Bruno de Menezes with a focus on narratives of memory. Used as a reference, the cultural manifestations of African origin represented in the book in accordance with the theories guided under an optical connection-oriented between literary subjectivity and objectivity in history, supported on the concepts of social history proposed by Peter Burke, on the idea of culture of Terry Eagleton and cultural identity of Stuart Hall. These instruments allow observation of the African presence as an element of the composition of a cultural identity in the Amazon, in three aspects: the first, related to the lyricism, demonstrating especially in the s poems “Mãe Preta” and “Pai João”; the second directed to musicality, observed in poems like “Batuque” and “Alma e ritmo da raça” and the third concerns the religiosity, presented in poems like “Toiá Verequête” and “Oração da Cabra Preta”. These three aspects, what else arouse our attention was the religiosity, especially regarding the relationship between the sacred and the profane and the vision of good and evil, very evident in the work. The results obtained give us the idea that by reading the narrative memory of the author and its relation to the environment in which he lived, the environmental influences on the artistic creation of the poet and the production of a work focused on the cultural manifestations contribute significantly, for better understanding of the black people, present in the Brazilian culture.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A cartografia de Irene na trilogia de Lindanor Celina(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2008-06-25) PENHA, Maria das Neves de Oliveira; SILVA, Joel Cardoso da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6918547599708778This search is inserted in the thematic axle literature and culture to investigate the trilogy’s protagonist of the writer Lindanor Celina, composed by the works: Menina Que Vem de Itaiara, Estradas do Tempo-foi and Eram Seis Assinalados. This work emphasizes the metaphor which makes the title of the book and the critical emancipation process verified in his main character being semantically closed. The dialectical stages of this work are: anti-thesis and synthesis which are verified in the main character, Alfredo, in his process of self-realization. These stages are processed in a continuous chain: ideological illusion, deception about Urbs and self-realization on his new way opposed to Urbs.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Dalcídio Jurandir: um cronista de O Estado do Pará e de Diretrizes(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-06-02) BARBOSA, Tayana Andreza de Sousa; FURTADO, Marli Tereza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2382303554607592The writer Dalcídio Jurandir (1909-1979) had a long and useful literary production, which resulted in ten novels with Amazon setting and Linha do Parque of Communist orientation. However, his contact with the universe literate is not restricted to his fictional creation, the writer held intense activity in the press in general and the Communist press in particular. This last, due to his involvement with the Brazilian Communist Party (PCB), which was substantial for the grounds of thought "dalcidiano", both as regards the way to see the reality and its operation, as when targeting their artistic creation. Two important journals for which Dalcídio collaborated in the cities in which he resided were the O Estado do Pará and Diretrizes, both of leftist policy orientations although not organically connected to the PCB. These two journals, it is possible to terms with another face of the novelist, who in addition to writing his novels, he ventured down the path of Chronicles. Thus, aim, with this work, do a study of these chronicles, in two newspapers, spanning the years from 1937 to 1944, in order to publicize these texts from writer marajoara and understand how he behaved in the creation of another literary genre.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) De Cachoeira a Belém: a inflexão das ilusões de Alfredo(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2008-03-28) FERREIRA, Paulo Jorge de Morais; FURTADO, Marli Tereza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2382303554607592This paper tries to demonstrate, through the journey made character Alfred, along the itineraty that goes from Cachoeira to Belém city, in a dalcidiana creation, the process of gradual disalienation of a boy who little by little becomes a young man. The building of his personality is through a very suffering process, wich in this heros life leads him to a necessary shock caused by some disillusions. Confronting with am bivalent feelings, with stages indecisions and indefiniteness, Alfred goes making his own way through the labyrinth of his being as the city also represents a not less challenging labyrinth. In this integration process, the final aim is the rescue of humain dignity which is not limited by the being of a hero; Alfred embraces a large political projet which is sought as a popular alternative.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Dona Cecé: um feminino singular, em passagem dos inocentes, Dalcídio Jurandir(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2005-05-23) SANTOS, Neilci do Socorro Coelho dos; FURTADO, Marli Tereza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2382303554607592Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A ética e a estética em Marajó, de Dalcídio Jurandir(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-04-26) MENDONÇA, Gerson de Sousa; FURTADO, Marli Tereza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2382303554607592Dalcídio Jurandir was born in Ponta de Pedras, Pará State, Brazil. His ten-novel series called ―Ciclo do Extremo Norte‖ (Cycle of the Extreme North) is a literary journey in which he presents several sociocultural aspects of the lifestyle in the Marajó archipelago, in the city of Belém and in the Lower Amazon River. The novel Marajó is the object of this study (apparently apart from the life trajectory of Alfredo, a character who appears in the other nine novels of the Cycle). It takes place in the first decades of the twentieth century and presents various features of the Amazonian culture. The objective of this dissertation is to show Dalcídio Jurandir‘s work as a critical and ethical journalist committed to the spatial and temporal reality of the Marajó archipelago, his native land, through newspaper and magazine articles, and his position in the current panorama of the Brazilian Literature, as well as to analyze the novel Marajó under prism of ethics, and especially, of esthetics, in its language, its social approach and the use of various parallel stories as its elements of composition, based on the theories of scholars such as Alfredo Bosi, Afrânio Coutinho, Marli Furtado, Junito Brandão, Massaud Moisés, among others.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O hibridismo de gêneros nos contos de Maria Lúcia Medeiros(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011) ALCÂNTARA, Lídia Carla Holanda; CHAVES, Lília Silvestre; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4273510661737259The idea of the present work came from a study of Maria Lúcia Medeiros‟ short stories (two of them, precisely: “Miss Doris” and “Mentiras e Verdades no Mesmo Chão”). We believe that Maria Lúcia is a writer of a time when the literary genres‟ characteristics have overcome limits and rules: her short stories are multi-characterized, written in a type of lyric prose or even dramatic-lyric prose. Therefore, we intend, with this work, to do primarily a historic of the literary genres, studying their evolution as a theoretical concept since the first studies about literary texts – since Plato, Aristotle, Horatio, Victor Hugo – until those from the contemporary historical context – such as Käte Hamburger, Northrop Frye, Emil Staiger. We will approach the genres‟ role in the study of (non-traditional) short-stories, such as the ones written by Maria Lúcia Medeiros. We raised, therefore, some question that guided this work: what is understood by literary genres hybridism? Are Maria Lúcia Medeiros‟ short stories hybrid? In what way this hybridism happens? What is a short-story? How are Maria Lúcia‟s short stories built? We understand that this writer‟s short stories are hybrid, because they share diverse literary genres‟ characteristics in addition to dialoguing with others literary texts and with other arts. We will do, in this work, a reading of two Maria Lúcia‟s short stories – besides small readings of three of her books (Zeus ou a menina e os óculos, Velas. Por quem? and Céu Caótico). It is valid to point out that besides existing for many decades, the subject in matter here (the literary genres) cannot be considered concluded. Because there still is a lot of discussion surrounding this them, it is pertinent to develop a study about it, especially in the texts of a priceless writer: Maria Lúcia Medeiros.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Identidade e história: Belém do Grão-Pará como narrativa da nacionalidade(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2005-10-05) FIGUEIREDO, Elielson de Souza; FURTADO, Marli Tereza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2382303554607592This work admits the allegory concept presented by Fredric Jameson as Possibility for reading speech of the history through Brazilian poetic speech, especially the Dalcidio Jurandirs novel, Belém do Grão-Pará. The beginning of the twentieth century is read through circumstances lived by the protagonist Alfredo, starting from his move from Cachoeira do Arari to Belém. Using the Marxist dialectic premises, little by little we analyzed the meaning of anthropophagi as sort of decisive political attitude to rupture with the idea of Brazilian culture submission front to the external cultures, specifically Europes. The new dimension given to the European vanguard in cultural and esthetic Brazilian means, as well the intellectual argument between the revolutionary sections of the national art and the academic eighteenth century tradition, were essentials to the statement of a very peculiar place to Brazilian literature in Latin-American and global context, especially. Alfredo's migration, central character in the play, from country-side to the city although he finds out a Belém ruined because of the economical climax of rubber exploitation, its read, allegorically as kind of crossing between the cosmopolitan way of national elites and the cultural roots which popular sections of the country-side are linked. Instruments of this historical debate between the elites and the people, were in the movies and newspapers, also mentioned by the novel. In a glance on post-modernity and the appearance of global society, under the tutelage of cultural industry, It insists on the possibility of a Brazilian national identity despite of strong differences among areas, social classes and ethnic.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Leituras intertextuais de O Tetraneto del-rei de Haroldo Maranhão(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-03-25) POMPEU, Thaís do Socorro Pereira; CASTILO, Luís Heleno Montoril del; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3519128535996125This work focuses on researching Haroldo Maranhão‟s writing, trying to comprehend the aspects that influenced this autor, as well as the particularity of his writing, full of scholar features, in parallel with its obscene phrases and expressions of popular value. For accomplishing that, this work was based on an analysis of his great work Tetraneto Del-Rei, which presents issues related to our colonization period with a wealth of details, however under a different and reinterpretive prism from the various signs and elements manifested in the work of Haroldo. The image of the character Torto converges to the reinterpretive character, a Portuguese colonizer who stars moments of weakness, anxiety, fears and desires, feelings which are not included in previous works which have spread the imaginary of a hero in prose and verse. As a conceptual and literary allowance, we present precursors authors when compared to Haroldo Maranhão, seeking its relations with the style of those previous authors. Finally, this study aimed to demonstrate the presence of three intertextual elements in Tetraneto Del-Rei: new readings of the colonization process, the hat significance and the obscene possible interpretations.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Memórias de uma velha cidade: a representação histórico-social de Belém pós-Belle Époque em crônicas de De Campos Ribeiro(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-04-11) CASTRO, Maria das Neves Rocha de; FERNANDES, José Guilherme dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7023812449790431Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Negritude e crioulização em Bruno de Menezes(2010-12) FERNANDES, José Guilherme dos SantosThis article aims to recognize the work of paraense poet Bruno de Menezes as forecasting of the concepts of blackness and creoulezation, these concepts created by Aimé Cesaire and Edouard Glissant, which qualify the modernity of this paraense poet. Then we will be analyze poems from Bruno de Menezes wrote in his book called Batuque (1931), considering the style and both social/ historical production conditions. Conclusively, we highlight that the non-recognition of poetry from Menezes, in local and national canon, it was much more social factors problems than the quality of his work.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Por uma história da recepção da obra de Max Martins(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-01-16) QUEIROZ, José Francisco da Silva; PRESSLER, Gunter Karl; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0100053541433805This paper seeks to understand the critical reception of Max Martins’ poetry over 50 years of artistic activity. It proposes investigate, by utilizing an aesthetic recepcional approach, how the successive readings of journalists and critics established the acceptance of Max Martins’ production and the insertion of this writer into the respective local and national literary scene. Based theoretically on Aesthetic Reception, this study attempts to understand diachronically the effect caused by the Max Martins’ production in his immediate readers, and therefore make out a story of his reception. The approach of the assumptions made by H. R. Jauss (in The History of Literature as Provocation to Literary Theory) - such as the term "horizon of expectation" - will direct us as regards historicity of Max Martins’ poetic production, explaining why some misreadings of his works perpetuate until the present. Therefore by reconstructing the "horizon of expectation" it will be possible to understand which demand or question the Max Martins’ work attended at the time of its publication, furthermore to ascertain how the publishing of his works (G. Genette, 2009) influenced his reading over time, thereby updating their critical understanding and revealing some persistent inconsistencies in contemporary academic studies.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Safra, retratos da vida e do homem amazônico na produção da castanha(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-11-03) FARIAS, Gilson da Conceição Vitor; FURTADO, Marli Tereza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2382303554607592This dissertation analyzes the social aspects of the novel Safra (1937) wrote by Abguar Bastos on the economy of Brazilian nut in Amazonia in the beginning of 20th Century. This moment was very important to the region, once the seed was one of the few alternatives to producers after the bust of the rubber economy. The situation of the people from the Coari village reveals a work characterized by denunciation and reflections on human being, on power and its consequences. This novel presents three related aspects. The first is the historical context when both products, rubber and Brazilian nuts, were the main sources of income to the population and how the substitution from one to another happened. The second presents the novel as a regionalist of the 2nd modernist generation in Brazil; for this reason the writer career is presented in order to observe his trajectory, the ideas of the movement as well as the political position presented in his work. The third part is the study of the novel wherein is seen the way how the people was portrayed in the book, the characteristics of protagonist and what the speeches are hidden in the narrative.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Tra[D]ição e o jogo da diferença em Marajó, de Dalcídio Jurandir(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2006-10-24) SANTOS JÚNIOR, Luiz Guilherme dos; FURTADO, Marli Tereza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2382303554607592Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Três faces de Haroldo Maranhão: o leitor, o jornalista, o escritor(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-08-27) MEDINA, Maria Juliana da Silva; AUGUSTI, Valéria; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6970953321235328The aim of this dissertation is to discuss part of the trajectory of the writer Haroldo Maranhão (1927-2004) through documents found in his personal archives. The study is organized according to three perspectives: Haroldo Maranhão as a reader, owner of a large bibliographic collection; Haroldo Maranhão as a journalist, member of a family that for 50 years led one of the most influential newspapers of the State of Para (Brazil), the Folha do Norte, and Haroldo Maranhão as a writer, in his constant struggles against the consolidated editorial practices.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Vida literária na Belém oitocentista: a contribuição do Diário de Belém para o desenvolvimento das Letras na capital paraense (1882-1889)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-11-08) SILVA, Alan Victor Flor da; SALES, Germana Maria Araújo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8723885160615840From the research we have carried out in several literary histories, we find that the only writers of prose fiction born in the province of Pará during the nineteenth century mentioned in these works are Inglês de Sousa, Marques de Carvalho and José Veríssimo. However, the study carried out in dictionaries, encyclopaedias and anthologies revealed that Inglês de Sousa left the region where he was born at the age of eleven and never returned to his native land, just as the research in literary histories made José Veríssimo as a critical and historian of literature and Marques de Carvalho, on the other hand, as a naturalist writer without any importance for the development of literary production in the province of Pará neither for the evolution of Brazilian literature. The cataloguing of dictionaries, encyclopaedias and anthologies also showed a slightly more expressive number of authors settled in the province of Pará during the nineteenth century, who dedicated themselves to periodical press and literary production. However, these writers did not obtain national visibility neither did they attain a place in the canon of Brazilian literature. In the same way, the research in the nineteenth century periodical press in Belém carried out by members of the Group of Studies in History of Literature (GEHIL), coordinated by Profa. Dr. Germana Maria Araújo Sales, has also demonstrated a considerable number of writers collaborating with productions written both in verse and fiction prose for periodicals that circulated in the capital of Pará during the last decades of the nineteenth century. We are not referring, therefore, to publications translated or extracted from periodicals coming from other provinces of Brazil, but to original publications prepared to be first published in newspapers that circulated in the city of Belém. The dissertations originating from the research carried out by GEHIL members in periodicals of Belém from the nineteenth century, however, have sought to study the circulation of translated versions of fictional prose signed by foreign writers or of productions extracted from periodicals of other provinces of the country signed by Brazilian writers. Due to the few studies on writers who have established themselves from original publications for the periodical press of Belém, we sought to promote a work that was dedicated to walking a path on the circulation and production of prose fiction signed by writers who settled in the capital of the province of Pará during the nineteenth century and contributed to the periodical press in Belém that century. Our aim, therefore, is not put on evidence authors whose productions were translated or extracted from other periodicals that circulated from other distinct places of Brazil, but writers who were located in the province capital and wrote original fictional narratives for the periodical press from Belém in the nineteenth century. To develop the research, we selected as the main periodical to be studied the Diário de Belém (1868-1892), because this newspaper circulated on a daily basis in the capital of Pará, it lasted for more than a decade in circulation and was the first to offer opportunity and space for writers settled in Belém to ventured themselves by the literary production. From the considerations that we weave, we aim, with this thesis, demonstrate how writers and journalists involved in the periodical press of Belém in the nineteenth century interpreted some subjects, for example, associated with the (in) existence of a literature in the Amazon or in the province of Pará, the publication of works signed by writers established in Belém, literary schools of the nineteenth century, as well as Romanticism, Realism and Naturalism, among others. In addition, we aim to trace a profile of prose fiction published in the Diário de Belém, signed by writers settled in the capital of Pará.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A voz do silêncio na poesia de Max Martins(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-03-17) BARBOSA, Thiago de Melo; FERRAZ, Antônio Máximo von Sohsten Gomes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5982898787473373This paper interprets the poetry of Max Martins, focusing, mainly, the opening that it offers to happen the silent of language. It is thought here in the silence as a question that speaks, and is confused with the question of the essence of language and therefore also with the essence of the poetic. Thus, the dissertation unfolds in poetic-philosophical discussions, articulating these two creative spheres in various dimensions in which the work Martiniana manifests the silence: in language, in dialogue with Eastern thought and poetry, eroticism and verbivocovisuality. Search up listening to the "voice of silence", as it appears in the title of the work. In this journey, important to say, reflections implemented by the German philosopher Martin Heidegger on language, as well as his ideas about poetic hermeneutics, are of great value. Indeed, beyond Heidegger, there are other thinkers whose names echo through this work, but the German is noteworthy, because the comprehension of the essence of language as silent speech finds shelter both in his philosophy as in the poetic work of Max Martins. Doing a dialogue between poetry and philosophy on what they have in common — the thought of questions —, here was not applied a previous theory to the happening of art. It was attempted, instead, take along this interpretive journey the listening of poetic that the martinianos texts puts in work.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Vozes da Cabanagem: os discursos da literatura e da história na construção de “O Rebelde"(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-03-08) CUNHA, Livia Sousa da; FERNANDES, José Guilherme dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7023812449790431The short story "O Rebelde", from Inglês de Souza‘s Contos Amazônicos (1893), presents in its plot a fact of the history of Pará, the Cabanagem. In this narrative the characters experience the first manifestations of the rebels in 1832. The research was developed based on the evidence of this historical fact in the short story, observing the interaction between real and fictional, that is, how the historical fact has been recreated in the fictional universe of the author. This way, the discourses of the history were observed, from the 19th and 20th centuries, in the books Motins Políticos (1865-1890) by Domingos Antônio Raiol, Cabanagem: o povo no poder (1984) by Julio José Chiavenato, and Cabanagem: a revolução popular da Amazônia (1985) by Pasquale Di Paolo, as well as the discourse of the literature, in "O Rebelde" from the 19th century, in the construction of versions of the Cabanagem, in order to verify how each historian and writer has positioned in relation to the Cabanagem, electing victims, villains and heroes. We also aimed at verifying how the voices of the characters and the narrator of the short story condemn or justify the Cabanagem. The discussion presents the theoretical assumptions based on Paul Ricoeur (1999), Jacques Le Goff (2005), Beatriz Sarlo (2007) and Umberto Eco (2004).
