The hepatitis B virus belongs to the genus Orthohepdnavirus and Hepadnaviridae family, comprising a DNA virus capable of infecting mammalian hepatotropic. Classified into 10 genotypes (A-J) and many different subgenotypes, studies suggest that they may influence the severity of the disease, response to treatment and vaccine response. Genotypes and subgenotypes HBV has a wide distribution, some being restricted to certain geographic regions, while others show a worldwide distribution. It is found in different regions of Brazil with prevalence of genotypes A, D and F. This study aimed to identify genotypes and subgenotypes of hepatitis B virus among patients treated at the Tropical Medicine Center - UFPA, in the city of Belém, state Pará, from January 2011 to December 2015. A total of 1274 patients treated at the NMT-UFPA in the period, were selected for the study 222 patients of both sexes, with positive serology for HBsAg and / or anti-HBc. The samples were subjected to molecular biology, PCR "in house" and multiplex PCR to detect viral DNA and genotyping, and then the sequencing for confirmation and determination of viral subgenotypes. In 65 of the 222 samples was detected the presence of HBV DNA, but only 63 samples were satisfactory after the result of sequencing, which were identified the presence of genotypes A (46/63), especially the subgenotype A1 (36/46) followed by subgenotype A2 (10/46), and genotype F (17/63) and only detected subgenotype F2 (17/17) circulating in this population. The average age of the patients was 38 years, predominantly male, and most natural state of Pará patients. Some risk factors have been identified among the population studied, and not using a condom during sex the most predominant. Comparing the presence of viral DNA with serology for HBsAg marker is shown a picture that suggests the presence of occult hepatitis among the patients treated. The results found in this study are consistent with what is reported in other studies in Brazil.

Varicella zoster virus (VZV) can cause chickenpox during primary infection, subsequently establishing a latent infection. In case of reactivation of the virus, the herpes zoster may occur. Analysis of the presence of IgG and IgM is critical to determine the prevalence of this virus in the Metropolitan Region of Belém. The study of specific nucleotide polymorphisms is used to define the genotypes of VZV. Analysis of ORFs 22, 38 and 54 identified genotypes of VZV according to the classification established in conference July 25, 2008 in Whitechapel, London / UK, where the strains of VZV detected and characterized by sequencing of SNPs were grouped into classes 1 through 5. To evaluate the prevalence of antibodies and describe the circulating genotypes was the aim of this study. The frequency of IgM and IgG antibodies in cases of chickenpox was 68.2% and 48.2%, respectively. Cases of herpes zoster showed prevalence of anti-VZV IgG and IgM of 87.5% and 12.5%, respectively. The genotypes 1 or 3 and 5 were present in 13 samples sequenced, and the European strain (class 1 or 3) was found in samples from all the cities studied. The identification of strains circulating VZV is extremely important because of the association of specific genotypes with clinical harshest and to assess the implementation of the vaccine in the National Immunization Program.

Characterization of the Fruit Pulp of Camu-Camu (Myrciaria dubia) of Seven Different Genotypes and Their Rankings Using Statistical Methods PCA and HCA
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-10) FREITAS, Camila Auad Beltrao de ; SILVA, Antonio dos Santos; ALVES, Claudio Nahum; NASCIMENTO, Walnice Maria Oliveira do; LOPES, Alessandra Santos; LIMA, Marcelo de Oliveira; MÜLLER, Regina Celi Sarkis
Due to the economic potential of camu-camu, considering its high concentration of vitamin C, the aim of this work was to evaluate the quality and genetic variability seven accessions of camu-camu conserved in genebank (BAG) of Embrapa Amazônia Oriental, in the state of Pará, Amazon region, Brazil. The fruits of camucamuzeiro were analyzed for physicochemical characterization (standard methodologies) and mineral composition. The data were subjected to multivariate statistical analysis, using the techniques of cluster analysis and principal component analysis. The formation of different groups for each genotype, which shows the genetic variability and the dissimilarity of the genotypes in the species data, may be used to guide the selection of promising genotypes to enrich the programs of genetic improvement of the camucamuzeiro. Ascorbic acid showed levels above 1000 mg 100 g-1, however, genotypes 4, 1 and 2 show the highest potential and the most promising nutritional capacity, but genotype 4 showed good characteristics for the moisture, acidity, carbohydrates, Cu and Zn and differs totally from others about the total soluble solids (TSS) and flavon-3-ol, features that make it the most promising genotype. It was possible to separate the seven different genotypes using multivariate analysis (hierarchical cluster analysis-HCA and principal component analysis-PCA).
