Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A cobertura de ciência em três jornais paraenses: um estudo longitudinal(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-12) CARVALHO, Vanessa Brasil de; MASSARANI, Luisa Medeiros; SEIXAS, Netília Silva dos AnjosItem Acesso aberto (Open Access) La representación de la violencia policial en las manifestaciones de junio de 2013: un análisis crítico del discurso de las editoriales de los diarios Folha de São Paulo y O Liberal(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-11-14) PERDOMO, Fernando Iván Ruiz; DELUCHEY, Jean-François Yves; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2530487459645226Despite the bombastic declared end of history in the version of liberal democracy and the capitalist system, the end of ideologies and the class struggle, the supposed consensus of humanity on human rights and progress as the north of societies and its governments in this second decade of the twenty-first century, what we witness is the irruption of varied and novel processes of political action that have shaken the world, such as the Arab Spring, the Occupy Wall Street demonstrations of Ferguson against police violence in the United States, environmental protests in Turkey, Chilean students, Colombian peasants and the Free Pass Movement in Brazil. Although their contexts and motivations are varied, each one of them represented moments of strong tension within their countries, as a result of the clashes of violence and the struggle of speeches. In this international context of social unrest, the present investigation, centered on the Brazilian case, forms part of the demonstrations of June 2013 that triggered the increase in the passage of public transport in several cities, protests that had high doses of violence and repression, with the use not only of the truculence of armed bodies destined to preserve public order, but also of the judicial system, government speeches, mass media, among others. Concomitant with the occupation of forces in the streets between demonstrators and institutional armed forces, the symbolic struggle was fought, the clash of speeches, on the one hand, legitimizing discourses of the police order and the legitimate use of force used for its preservation, for the another, discourses that question the police order that resituate the force used by the armed bodies intended to preserve public order in the context of domination, to strip it of its legitimacy and justify its actions in response to institutional violence. From the perspective of the Critical Analysis of the Discourse we will analyze the editorials of the newspapers O Liberal and Folha de São Paulo that directly or indirectly, report the police violence against the demonstrators. The reflection on the texts in context will be based on the analysis of one category and two relations, with respect to the first one, the (de) construction of the "other" will be observed through the revision of the lexicon used by the newspapers, to describe the manifestations and demonstrators, as well as the force deployed by the armed forces responsible for controlling the June demonstrations in the cities of Belém and São Paulo, if it is considered violence or law enforcement, and the justification or condemnation of it . As for relations, the nexus between the discourses and the intensity of the force exerted for the control of the manifestations, and between the discourses and relations of power produced in that context, will be analyzed.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Nem eu, nem o outro; qualquer coisa de intermédio: estudo exploratório de formas simbólicas sobre o plebiscito para a criação dos estados de Carajás e de Tapajós(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-03-26) BRAGA, Thaís Luciana Corrêa; COSTA, Alda Cristina Silva da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2403055637349630In December 11th, 2011, the referendum proposed the creation of the Carajás and Tapajós States from the territorial division of the State of Pará. The total of 66% of Pará voters who attended the public consultation voted contrary to both proposals, while 33% of them voted in favor of the creation of two states. From this historic event for the Pará population, the research aims to understand the meanings produced by the newspapers O Liberal and Diário do Pará about the referendum in Pará from the definition of symbolic forms. I use the methodological framework of depth in hermeneutics (DH), proposed by J. B. Thompson, combined with techniques of historical analysis and content analysis. The survey sample consists of 135 issues, 57 of O Liberal and 78 of Diário do Pará. For the sample, I considered all editions of two newspapers published in June, July, November and December of 2011. However I selected only those containing some information about the referendum, regardless of journalistic genre. The development begins with the historical and geographical characterization of the territories of Carajás and Tapajós to put the proposal of Pará division over time. Then I reflect about the communication character of journalism: the correlation established between the self and the other makes the whole information a potential communication. The other is both whom the self addressed, as the third who are spoken. Mass communication, although in a mediated way, resorts this dimension and that’s why is capable of contacting distant lines. The symbolic power of mass communication is to visualize or silence those lines. Interpretations/re-interpretations of what the newspapers produced about the referendum in Pará, identified in the research, finalize the exploratory study. Some of them are: the referendum was treated as party elections, ensuring victory to "No" and defeat the "Yes", when, in fact, it was a popular consultation; Carajás and Tapajós united in opposition to Belém, however the two territories had different reasons for the division; the image associated with the Carajás and Tapajós are the male politicians; both newspapers saw the referendum as breaking, splitting, cropping and economic loss, mainly.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Percepções de jornalistas sobre ironia no jornalismo impresso(Associação Nacional dos Programas de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação, 2015-06) SEIXAS, Netília Silva dos AnjosThe study addresses the perception of journalists about the use of irony in their everyday professional enunciations. This is an initial incursion into this discussion, as from information of journalists who work in the editorial room of the daily newspaper O Liberal, from Belém, Pará, one of the oldest in circulation in the Brazilian Amazon, founded in 1946. In journalistic enunciation, language plays significant role on the modes of say and the provision of meaning effects possibilities, including the ironic. In print journalism, the irony eminently plays a critical role, with multiple resources of use, and not is situated, necessarily, as a category of humor. The research has showed that professionals hold that knowledge about the irony and use it as a strategic discursive resource in their journalistic constructions, counting on the reader's sagacity to perceive them or create them. After all, the irony depends on the interlocutors to be established.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Trilha das letras no Pará: o caminho percorrido pela literatura no jornalismo paraense(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-03-14) SILVA, Lívea Pereira Colares da; SEIXAS, Netília Silva dos Anjos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2301685130625189This study wants to understand how the newspapers Folha do Norte (1896 - 1974) and O Liberal (1946 - present) make their journalistic coverage about the nacional and regional literature. The research is a Content Analysis, an exploratory analyze on 110 years of journalistic production of these journals, from 1896 until 2006, with cutouts for ten years, and only in January and July. That analysis will observe the origin of the books and the way how journalism acts in the routine. The survey resulted in a corpus of 588 newspaper articles about literature, and 201 published by Folha do Norte and 387 belonging to the Liberal. The protocol resulted in datas, this datas was analyzed by the historical context of the periods studied. These contexts were understood from the studies by authors such as Geraldo Martires Coelho, Vicente Salles, Nelson Werneck Sodre and Marialva Barbosa. To interpret the aspects of the journalism, such as the notion of event and genres used by the press, the research brings the study authors as Adriano Duarte Rodrigues, Jorge Pedro Sousa, Nelson Traquina, Mauro Wolf and José Marques de Melo.
