This dissertation aims to investigate the relation between the themes of otherness and death in “Páramo”, by João Guimarães Rosa, based on Hall (2006), Bhabha (1998), both about the concept of otherness, and Ariès (2012) and Levinas (2000), both about the concept of death. Published in Estas Estórias (1969), “Páramo” is a singular writing among the works of Guimarães Rosa, because it is the most autobiographic text of the author and is set on a urban space of a foreing city. In this tale, a brazilian ambassador is sent to an andean city where he has to execute a diplomatic service, but after to be shoked by extreme otherness of that place he begins feeling a process of decentering of his identity, that culminates with premonition of his death and a need of renovation of Being. The relevance of this research is that it brings new discussions about the inevitable relation between Me, Other and death in the text of “Páramo”, so that we can reflete about the philosofical and cultural outspread of this relation. This research is divide into three parts: the first part of this study will deal with the concepts of otherness and death acordding the authors related above. In the second part of this study we will launch a reflection about the philosofical and cultural problems based on the intertwined relation between otherness and death on the text of “Páramo”, accomplishing a dialogue with the concepts and categories of Being, Other and the Stranger. In the third and last part of this research, we will realize a dialogue between the conceptions presented in this research and the perspectives presented in most relevant works published about “Páramo”, as studies from Hector Olea Galaviz (1987), Maria Thereza Scher Pereira (2007 e 2009), Bairón Escallón (2011, 2012 e 2013), Luciano Antônio (2013), Gisálio Cerqueira Filho (2013), Betina Cunha (2014), Maria Magnabosco (2003), Edson Oliveira (2010) e Paulo Moreira (2013), aiming to contribute to studies dedicated to this narrative of João Guimarães Rosa.

This text does not aim to discuss about all different readings that have been done on Dalcídio Jurandir books over the years. instead, it intends, at least, to present a proposal of reading the novel Passagem dos Inocentes based on the Dialetical Historical Materialism perspective. This work emphasizes the metaphor which makes the title of the book and the critical emancipation process verified in his main character being semantically closed. The dialectical stages of this work are: anti-thesis and synthesis which are verified in the main character, Alfredo, in his process of self-realization. These stages are processed in a continuous chain: ideological illusion, deception about Urbs and self-realization on his new way opposed to Urbs.

A crítica literária aos romances “Chove nos Campos de cachoeira”, “Marajó” e “Três casas e um rio” na imprensa do Rio de Janeiro
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-03-11) MOREIRA, Alex Santos; FURTADO, Marli Tereza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2382303554607592
Discredited as a critical model, impressionistic criticism until the first half of the twentieth century dominated the literary debate in Brazil and its performance was hegemonic in the literary supplements of newspapers, magazines and weeklies. It is known that for a long time, it was the main source of readers’ guidance, revealing reading keys, clearing plots, playing characters and most of all it was also the living bond responsible for the link between the work and the reader and between literature and everyday life. Thus, this paper studies the literary criticism in the press of the city of Rio de Janeiro on the first three novels of Pará Dalcídio Jurandir writer (1909-1979). Show how Chove nos Campos de Cachoeira (1941), Marajó (1947) and Três Casas e um Rio (1958), in its immediate context of publication, were read by critics considered Impressionist. We intend to recognize how consolidated the meanings of these books, elucidate the critical procedures of the first assessors Dalcídio Jurandir and raise new hypotheses that help the new readings of these novels to go beyond what is laid by the current critical system.

A cultura e a sociedade manauara em "Dois irmãos", de Milton Hautom: o contexto desprivilegiado de Domingas
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-04) MANTOVANI, Antonio Aparecido; KRAESKI, Gisele Cristina
Understanding the symbolic meaning of the literary work consists of analyzing the various elements present in context. Milton Hatoum's work Two Brothers is permeated by these elements, which help us to understand the manauara society in its formation process. Through this work, we seek to analyze, in the context of the work and the time described, the personage Domingas, seen like native acculturated and that occupies a servile position in relation to the other personages, and which has its identity deconstructed, as it is inserted in this situation of servitude. Building on the work of Rama and Candido, we use researchers from the work of Hatoum, as Mantovani, Alves and Borges. We could conclude that the work of Milton Hatoum presents us with reflections on life, social conflicts and the culture of the underprivileged populations of the Brazilian Amazon in its formation process.

Os (des)enredos do amor: a narrativa do fracasso amoroso em contos de Lygia Fagundes Telles
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-11-29) VIANA, Maria José Amaral; FURTADO, Marli Tereza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2382303554607592
This study assumes that the love-themed tales from Lygia Fagundes Telles can be read as narratives of love failure. In a poetic and vibrant way, the writer‟s short stories present the search for love and its failure, as weel as delineate man‟s anxieties, tensions and frustrations, which come from the experience of living and relating their feelings to other people. To develop this hypothesis, eight tales were analyzed, being divided into four tracks: love-incommunicability-loneliness, love-estrangement-fragmentation, love-selfishness-blame, love-degradation-death. In our reading, these tracks delineate and interlace the (mis)direction or (un)plots of romantic relationships in Lygia‟s tales and make it possible to analyze the social, ideological, philosophical and psychological values invested and/or virtualized in the narrative fabric, in order to examine and question the representations of love (des)constructed in the fictional universe of the writer.

Figurações do pobre em Dalcídio Jurandir: do chalé à rua das palhas em “Chove nos Campos de Cachoeira"
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-05-29) HAGE, José Elias Pereira; FURTADO, Marli Tereza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2382303554607592
This study aims to make a study on the poor representation in Dalcídio Jurandir literature (1909-1979), in the book Chove nos Campos de Cachoeira (1941). The study's aim is to bring a new look at the fictional production of the writer, based on the social relationship of characters and know, through fiction, the reality of the underprivileged who live in the Amazon region. In ten novels published between 1941 and 1978, the Pará writer has built the Extremo Norte cycle in which it was proposed reveal a history of the Amazon through the eyes of a strong and full of humanity people. In Chove nos Campos de Cachoeira, the first work cycle, we encounter two protagonists characters: Alfredo and Eutanázio, that in the course of the novel are involved with several characteristic types of the Amazon poverty, and it is because of that, even the present work You chose to accompany the poor reality from the different perspective of these two characters. Both conflict internally in various situations by lack of money. While Eutanázio, with nearly 40 years, stricken with a fatal disease, begins and ends his career in this first work, Alfredo 10 years is starting its way and become the protagonist of eight works of the cycle. Dalcídio Jurandir refracts the reality of the lack of things in his novels. There is a lack of essential goods and services; the lack of economic resources; as well as social deprivation, which deals with social exclusion, which is the inability to participate in society, evidenced by the prejudiced attitude toward upstate Caboclo. Eutanázio complains and suffers from lack of money. That complaint repercurte in character and reverberates in the works of Dalcídio Jurandir explaining also in other characters due to the poverty of different situations. In Chove nos Campos de Cachoeira in several parts, it is as if poverty that the tone of all, displayed around and internal lucubrations of the characters. The study is the methodology to research and literature review and had the theoretical work of scholars in the literature analysis line and society as Antonio Candido and Roberto Schwarz, among others, as well as scholars of social reality as Fabio Castro and Eugenio Giovenardi, among others. The notion of poverty that will guide all the work will be based on two fundamental principles: the notion of subsistence and social sense.

O hibridismo de gêneros nos contos de Maria Lúcia Medeiros
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011) ALCÂNTARA, Lídia Carla Holanda; CHAVES, Lília Silvestre; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4273510661737259
The idea of the present work came from a study of Maria Lúcia Medeiros‟ short stories (two of them, precisely: “Miss Doris” and “Mentiras e Verdades no Mesmo Chão”). We believe that Maria Lúcia is a writer of a time when the literary genres‟ characteristics have overcome limits and rules: her short stories are multi-characterized, written in a type of lyric prose or even dramatic-lyric prose. Therefore, we intend, with this work, to do primarily a historic of the literary genres, studying their evolution as a theoretical concept since the first studies about literary texts – since Plato, Aristotle, Horatio, Victor Hugo – until those from the contemporary historical context – such as Käte Hamburger, Northrop Frye, Emil Staiger. We will approach the genres‟ role in the study of (non-traditional) short-stories, such as the ones written by Maria Lúcia Medeiros. We raised, therefore, some question that guided this work: what is understood by literary genres hybridism? Are Maria Lúcia Medeiros‟ short stories hybrid? In what way this hybridism happens? What is a short-story? How are Maria Lúcia‟s short stories built? We understand that this writer‟s short stories are hybrid, because they share diverse literary genres‟ characteristics in addition to dialoguing with others literary texts and with other arts. We will do, in this work, a reading of two Maria Lúcia‟s short stories – besides small readings of three of her books (Zeus ou a menina e os óculos, Velas. Por quem? and Céu Caótico). It is valid to point out that besides existing for many decades, the subject in matter here (the literary genres) cannot be considered concluded. Because there still is a lot of discussion surrounding this them, it is pertinent to develop a study about it, especially in the texts of a priceless writer: Maria Lúcia Medeiros.

This work admits the allegory concept presented by Fredric Jameson as Possibility for reading speech of the history through Brazilian poetic speech, especially the Dalcidio Jurandirs novel, Belém do Grão-Pará. The beginning of the twentieth century is read through circumstances lived by the protagonist Alfredo, starting from his move from Cachoeira do Arari to Belém. Using the Marxist dialectic premises, little by little we analyzed the meaning of anthropophagi as sort of decisive political attitude to rupture with the idea of Brazilian culture submission front to the external cultures, specifically Europes. The new dimension given to the European vanguard in cultural and esthetic Brazilian means, as well the intellectual argument between the revolutionary sections of the national art and the academic eighteenth century tradition, were essentials to the statement of a very peculiar place to Brazilian literature in Latin-American and global context, especially. Alfredo's migration, central character in the play, from country-side to the city although he finds out a Belém ruined because of the economical climax of rubber exploitation, its read, allegorically as kind of crossing between the cosmopolitan way of national elites and the cultural roots which popular sections of the country-side are linked. Instruments of this historical debate between the elites and the people, were in the movies and newspapers, also mentioned by the novel. In a glance on post-modernity and the appearance of global society, under the tutelage of cultural industry, It insists on the possibility of a Brazilian national identity despite of strong differences among areas, social classes and ethnic.

O interlúdio de Eros e Thánatos na poesia de Max Martins
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-02-17) RIBEIRO, Natália Lima; FERRAZ, Antônio Máximo von Sohsten Gomes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5982898787473373
This study aims to find which way Eros and Thánatos appear in the poetic work of Max Martins, on the assumption that these ontological experiences articulate in interlude (a game in between). Thus, this search intend to embraces new ways of thinking Love and Death out of a metaphysical tradition, or out of the paradigms which form used to these phenomenons that exceed the man in the work of the martiniana poetry. In the work of Max Martins, we can see a break with the metaphysical constructions that happen in modernity, given that his poetry is permeated by the constant question, from a thought about the events surrounding the existence. For the poet, the man is that one who takes care of things, makes his existential trajectory by questioning, experiencing Love and Death originating, not categorizes them into segments. In other words, in the work of Max Martins human being travels the existence in the ontological game Eros and Thánatos. In his works, both phenomenons appear in different forms and ways, as Max Martins is not related to an expression, but his experiences in poetic language of Eros and Thánatos all over nearly fifty years of poetry. In this sense, through a hermeneutic approach, the proposal presented here raises the development of an interpretive route around the poetics of Max Martins in the works include the collection Poemas Reunidos 1952 - 2001 and Para ter onde ir, with authors dialogue as Martin Heidegger, Octavio Paz, Manuel Antônio Castro, George Bataille and Plato, in order to foster discussion about the relationship between Love and Death diverges opposition usually employed in our time, but there is a match between these two instances that guiding life.

The dissemination of research in newspapers of the nineteenth century becomes increasingly necessary as it contributes to a better understanding of the process of production, circulation and formation of the Brazilian Literary History. In this paper, we analyze one of the leading newspapers of the nineteenth century press Para-The Journal of Pará (1862-1878) - which has earmarked several areas for literary publication and remained stable periodic dialogues with other states, such as printed Carioca Journal of Families - Produced and directed by the Company under the Garnier line conservative journal Para. That newspaper family were extracted from translating the works by renowned authors such as Machado de Assis. These placeholders for conversation between the journals show that Para was not part of the conjecture of his time, but also participated actively in the scene who helped form the Brazilian Literature.

This dissertation aims at analyzing media adaptations of writer Machado de Assis‘s three short story, before that, will make a brief history about the author as short story writer, his publications and the great importance to Brazilian literature. Will make also an analyse of plots of following short story ―A cartomante‖, ―Pai contra mãe‖ e ―Conto de escola‖. This study is based on theoretical presuppositions of researchers like (BOSI, 1980), (COSSON, 2006), (COSTA, 2013) and (VERGUEIRO, 2006; 2013) among others. In perspective of this study, is interesting verify how is the Classic Literature and the Comics (Sequential Art), will discuss how the authors use the comics code to detach details of the stories as also to check which pieces of the comics can provide to adaptations, how both interact, because we understand that as the reading original short story as much adapted to Sequential art can be made independently of an order, we defend that both reading can help us to compare each other, allowing new ways of understanding, becoming rich our analyses. This way, adaptations to literature texts to comics appear not as a definite resolution or something extraordinary, but a methodological strategy to approximate students of literary texts. As suggestion to develop this proposal we will use a didactic sequence because it presents a more organized structure and at same time dynamic, it can provide to the educator possibilities of including activities in according to their own observations, considering each student‘s linguistic capacity, their previous knowledge and cultural experience.

Necronarrativas em três romances contemporâneos brasileiros
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-07-30) AUTIELLO, Sheila Lopes Maués; RUSSO, Vincenzo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4108882812232683; CASTILO, Luís Heleno Montoril del; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3519128535996125; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2507-5346
This thesis deals with the occurrence of necronarratives in Contemporary Brazilian Literature from the novels Pssica (2015), by Edyr Augusto; Enterre seus mortos (2018), by Ana Paula Maia and A Morte e o Meteoro (2019) by Joca Reiners Terron. The objective is to analyze, from an analytical-comparative approach, how the narratives fictionalize the necropolitical processes of Brazilian society in the last five years. The research proposes the analysis of the novels from three critical axes: the first corresponds to the expendable bodies, which will be based on the concepts of naked life, by Giorgio Agamben (2002) and precarious life, by Judith Butler (2019); the second, concerns the predatory presence of "Gore" businesses, which is based on the studies on "Gore" Capitalism, by Sayak Valencia (2010) and, finally, the third, which relates to the recurrence of the image of the undead or zombie, having as its reading key the studies of Deleuze and Guattari (2010) and Leo Barros (2020). The study focuses on the thematic analysis of the works, despite making brief incursions into other narrative elements. It is concluded that the novels studied are part of a structuring force of Romanesque composition, which aesthetically represents the Brazilian necropolitical processes, which I called necronarrative. Therefore, it is understood that the works analyzed, are part of an excerpt from the Brazilian novel that is concerned with aesthetically problematizing life starting from the necropolitics (MBEMBE, 2018). The characterization of necronarratives occurs, above all, by the representations of the precariousness of contemporary bodies; the emergence of criminal markets that flourish in groups subjected to deadly conditions and the initiation of symbolic processes of social zombification. It is, however, a study that identifies a trend and not a generalization.

“Novo porvir”: literatura e cooperativismo em candunga e outros escritos de Bruno de Menezes
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-08-03) FELIX, Renan Brigido Nascimento; NUNES, Francivaldo Alves; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4125313573133140
The present dissertation aims to understand Literature and Cooperativism as two fundamental aspects of the social experience of the literate Bento Bruno de Menezes Costa (1893-1963). In this sense, his engagement in the field of arts was used as a starting point to the perception of a social subject who had made of the constitutive experiences of his works a huge space to reflect the condition of parense people. It is not merely an ornament what he expressed on the fictional texts and cultural reflexions, so the retraction many of his poetries dynamized and told about the confluence of a poet who made from his accumulated life experiences on his wanderings present issues in terms of a subject who not only went to the people, but was people himself. Therefore, when we analyse the cooperativist production of Bruno Menezes, we researched abundant sparse texts, even by the sequence of the years – first half of XX century, especially the 50´s – thru the deployment of his public activities commanding S.A.C. (Service of Assistance to Cooperativism) organ created by Para State Government in which he worked for ten years, from 1945 to 1955. We also consider that the work Candunga, published in 1954, constitutes an important space to the diffusion of Cooperativism doctrine once a fictional reflection has been conceded to such theme. The creation of “Colonia Novo Porvir1” by the end of the storyline established a different horizon to the peasants from Bragantine Zone in the Northeast of Para State through fomenting agricultural associacionism among them. Thus, when working with the execution of projects in this matter, he added ingredients such as political experience and perceptions about nature, considering important the historical changes in Amazonian spaces. The specialization grade he detained about this theme helped him to multiply the cooperativist actions, and then, to present practical results to Paraense society.
