Artitas visuais e vídeos mapping: narrativas audiovisuais produzindo sentidos na Amazônia paraense
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-11-16) BREMGARTNER, Jean Lucas Teixeira; COSTA, Vânia Maria Torres; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7517564393392394
In this research, we seek to understand the use and concept of video mapping beyond its technical dimension, as it can be considered a new form of expression and contemporary interaction. At the same time, we focus on the analysis of the productions and experiences of four local visual artists, whose main characteristics are that they come from the Amazon region of Pará and express themselves through media art technology. For this, interviews were conducted with each of them so that we could observe how they understand their experiences, how they see themselves as Amazonians and how their productions facilitate (or not) a connection between art and communication, through the interaction generated between the artist and art through the created projections. In this process, we entered the audiovisual universe seeking understanding about how the connection between art, artist and technology occurs, how the use of narratives occurs in this context, and which narratives are constructed. As a methodological procedure, we used interviews with visual artists in order to get to know their creations and productions of meanings. We emphasize that the audiovisual we deal with here, video mapping, is an audiovisual expanded beyond the screens of the cinematographic circuit, which is an art and communication tool that generates connection with/among people, strengthening the cultural environment, in constant movement for the middle of the images.

In 1983, in the city of Belém-PA, the death of a homosexual known as Klaus Keller took over the pages of the Pará press, a death that would be revisited throughout the 80s. This narrative would be exposed in the pages of newspapers during the period of the "second wave" of the Brazilian homosexual movement and in the context of the process of re-democratization of the Brazilian state, after the Civil-Military Dictatorship (1964-1985). This led to a more critical press, with judgments condemning the actions of the police in the case, as well as explicit judgments about the victim's sexuality. However, on the other hand, there was a demand for the case to be solved, considering that Klaus was a homosexual of explicit sexuality and well-known in Belém. The Província do Pará, O Liberal and Diário do Pará were the main press outlets in Pará that wrote his story. In order to understand this publication, I used the concepts of popular and/or sensationalist press, both to understand the ways in which they disseminated news and the way in which they sold it. In addition, it was noted that this story could lead to a debate on bio-politics and necropolitics, considering state control and micro-powers over the sexual and racial identities present in the narratives. That said, this dissertation started from the present by traveling to the past, and found similar ends there. In other words, the deaths of homosexuals in the present turned out to be similar. In other words, the deaths of homosexuals in the present were similar to those in the past. In this work with press sources, it was found that the discourse has changed little, and the murders as well.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-02-28) FERREIRA, Erika Mourão; COSTA, Vânia Maria Torres; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7517564393392394
The main objective of this dissertation is to understand the interactions, narratives and resistance practices of the residents of the Ponta da Sofia community, in Salinópolis (PA), in the face of the violation of their territory for the installation of tourist developments. The study will look at the daily life of this community, its productions of meaning about history, place, environmental preservation and relationships of affection, exploring the residents' narratives, their interactions and the processes of resistance in their social and cultural practices. The methodological procedures adopted are based on qualitative research, based on data analysis through interviews (MOTTA, 2013); (GOMES, 2007), supported by ethnographic practice as defined by Rocha and Eckert (2008), and interviews. The main authors used to support the understanding of narratives and social practices include Ferdinand Tonnies (1973), Martin Buber (1987), Filho and Mendes (2014), Krenak (2021), Medeiros and Ido (2018), Gudynas (2019) and Santos (2023). The result of this investigation highlights not only the adversities faced by the residents of Ponta da Sofia, but also the resilience and depth of their connections, especially their care for the environment, since they understand the intrinsic interdependence with the ecosystem they consider their home.

This article problematizes the meanings and interactions of social subjects, following the route of the former Belém-Bragança Railroad (EFB), deactivated by the military government in 1965. The train, as a means of communication, instigates us to reflect on the relations, clusters and cities that have emerged from their travels and displacements, as well as the family nuclei that formed near the railroad. The memorable narratives about this railroad will serve as an initial symbolic map to problematize the relations between communication, culture and identities in the paraense Amazon. Books, photos, maps, blogs and videos are clues to search for traces of the Bragança train and its passengers through their narratives. One can perceive how these texts produce in time the totality of this experience that has crossed lives in times dated as an event remembered in search of self-construction from the collective memory.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-04) COSTA, Roseli Araújo Barros; GONÇALVES, Tadeu Oliver
This article presents some “looks” on the teachers’ life history. In order to do so, we tried to define the notion of memory and collective memory, as well as differ it from history and narrative. When searching for this definition, the text shows that memory is a living thing and, when it is told, past and present get mixed in the present time. The narrative stories help us to bring order and coherence to our experience and give meaning to the events of our lives. History is the way we organize and reveal to the others what we recognize in our memory. The text indicates that it is important to take a look at the experiences the teachers go through in order to know more about their life history. Doing such a reflection, we might find answers and detect ways to support and obstacles aiming to achieve the professional development.

A present thesis analyzed the narrative constructions that the residentes of Belém create about themselves, the other and Belém. Considering the imaginary constructions that are established among the residents of the capital of Pará, fear constitutes one of the tensions in the fabric of the narratives. The question was asked in the analysis: How does the cartography of Belém allow us to observe the communicative processes of constructing the self, the other and the city? The question instigated the search to find out how the residents of Belém understand themselves in a relationship between the self and the other. In contemporary times, understanding this I-Thou relationship is justified because this relationship has been configured as calculating, to the extent that it makes the other an It, and not the externalized self that is decisive in understanding human action. As a methodological approach, a communicative cartography was developed in order to weave together the meanings attributed by individuals to themselves and to others, as well as to the spaces they experience. Cartography was understood as a relationship of power, tensions and force in the negotiation of meanings and the control of space as a product of social practices and relationships. In this construction, 15 narrative interviews were conducted with residents of 14 neighborhoods in Belém, from January to October 2022. The analyzes of such interviews were inspired by the theoretical-methodological openings: Ricoeur's narrative-hermeneutics, and his explanations of the unfolding of mimesis I, II and III; Deleuze and Guattari's cartography; Buber's ontological dimension of the I-Thou relationship; and Lévinas' ethical dimension of the faceto-face relationship. From the interlocutors' stories about and from Belém, we identified how a general frame was formed, called the "affective frame", with ramifications in other frames: urban, socio-cultural and security. In the affective frame, residents map the city of Belém in an affective and personal way. In all the frames, Communicative experiences emerged that were categorized into three dimensions: a) in the city center - a strong relationship of communication as possibility or miscommunication; b) in the periphery, communication as dialogue; and c) in Belém as a whole - communication as a relationship of otherness. The results of the research pointed to a cartography of the relationships, affections, intensities, conflicts, disputes over meanings, resistance, territoriality, deterritoriality and reterritoriality, which the residentes of Belém live create daily to make the city a place of possibility, as this same place holds, at the same time, a feeling of security and danger, where there is wealth and poverty. Despite these problems, the residentes of Belém strive, through cultural manifestations, to vibrate together around the city.

    A Narrativa documental diegética
(Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul, 2015) CASTRO, Fábio Fonseca de
The article discusses the ethos of interpretive action in carrying out ethnographic film and, from it, the nature of work with images in social research. Understanding this interpretive action as a diegetic process, it seeks to reflect on the validity of the interpretive method, on the political relationship this method has with reality and with its own effectiveness. In general, the article oposes diegetic narrative to the dialetic one. The first one plays a hermeneutic, or better, understanding and interpretive narrative pattern. The second, meanwhile, is focused on the requirement of an epistemological surveillance of the image, a requirement of the order of description, necessarily objectivist.

Narrativas e mídia: discussões e proposta
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-12) CAVALCANTI, Larissa de Pinho
Since the 1960s we have witnessed the rising in scientific interest and speculation regarding narratives, their structure and functions. Taking oral, written and visual forms, narrative events contribute to the development, legitimation or rejection of attitudes and values for particular contexts, that is, they connect the subject to their culture. Our paper approaches visual narratives, in particular the ones produced by mass media, in order to define and characterize visual narratives as well as relate them to the anthropologic research. We have reviewed literature and, at the end, offer a brief analysis of TV series names The Night Shift as cultural artifact and the articulation of the ‘soldier’ and ‘doctor’ elements of identity regarding the main character. We have resourced to Bamberg (2010), Cihodariu (2012), Hartmann (2004, 2005), Labov (1997), Ochs (2004), Ochs e Capss (1996), Pimenta e Poovaiah (2010) and Travancas (2008)

The present study seeks to reflect narrativity as a human action, linked and intrinsically related to discourse along time, and, therefore, along history and literature. Literature, History, and the history of literature are so intertwined that we can say that historians do not have any access to past events, but to narratives that have come to them, attributing them meaning. The literature historian is a narrator who, in the composition of a narrative, incorporates other contexts of other instances. The narratives of the nineteenth century that presented the title of "history of literature", for example, did not present elements that we notice nowadays as pertaining to the "history of narratives", namely: the narrative feature, the events which happened in period of time and space and, above all, the organization of such elements in order to the narrative make sense. To that end, we will bring the contributions of Wellek and Warren(19--), Pensavento (2003), Culler (1999), Vodicka (1978), and Jauss (1994), among others.

This paper has the purpose of assessing the role of narrativity in Ronald Dworkin’s theory of law. The research question is to know whether Dworkin’s theory of law can be considered a narrative theory of law. By narrative theory, we mean a theory that is based on a heuristic characterization of plots, narrative genres, characters etc.Dworkin introduces six theses in order to link literature and law, in his classic “How law is like literature”: (1) law, as a practice of identifying valid legal propositions, can be better understood whencompared to the practice of literature (synechist methodology thesis); (2) the compression of the practice of law always involves a descriptive and valuative dimension (normative theory thesis); (3) every judgment about art presupposes a theory about whatart is(aesthetical hypothesis); (4) every judgment about valid legal propositions presupposes the determination of what law is (political hypothesis); (5) the political hypothesis of law depends on understanding the intentionality of the political community (chain novel); and (6) The chain novel depends on understanding the institutional history of the political community (institutional history thesis). This paper’s conclusion is that Dworkin’s theory must be seen as a narrative theory, and thatwithout such narrative aspect, his theory would simply be a legal naturalistic theory, since the purpose or value of the law would thus become absolute.

Relatório de estágio: a formação do professor de língua portuguesa no modo de narrar a aula
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-02-12) MORAES, Dione Márcia Alves de; FAIRCHILD, Thomas Massao; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1771292039081039
We started a research on the writing of reports in the supervised teaching practice, at the Universidade Federal do Pará, campi Marajó-Breves, Belém, and Castanhal, and the interrelationships between the writing process and the production of knowledge, specifically when dealing with the form in which the students narrate the class. In the reports, the student teacher makes images over the events of the class through writing. In this study, one of the hypotheses that we make is that it is possible that the form in which the student teacher narrates produces a polyphonic discourse (discourses that structure the teaching field) that highlights points of views that make clear forms of knowledge upon the role of the participating subjects in the supervised teaching practice, the school and the teaching. Such knowledge is manifested bt the selection or concealment of a term, and expression, the organization of an utterance, and so forth. Considering that the report is a predominantly narrative text, we propose to analyze it both in the sphere of the narration, where the speaker builds images of such interactions through writing, and on the sphere of the narrative, where the interactions experienced in class appears as the object of the report. In both, "action" is an accentuated element. We set up the notions of the spheres of both narration and narrative based on the studies of Todorov (2008); our base for the concept of polyphonic discourse is in the works of Bakhtin (2008), Ducrot (1987), and Authier-Revuz (2004). The concept for "action" is build based on Bakhtin/Volochínov (2010) and Geraldi (2013). Finally, we approach the way that the actions in the narrative sphere are linguistically materialized (and their relationship with the empirical status of these actions) based on the works of Castilho (1968), Travaglia (2016), Ducrot (1987), and Austin (1990). Our general goal is to understand how the report, as essentially narrative text, presents to us indications of the formation process of the teacher and how the knowledge, incorporated by the student teacher in its formative process, is characterized. To achieve this goal, we arranged the analysis of three reports of the conducting sections in two moments. In the first moment, starting from the narrative sphere, we discuss the action attributed to the students of the class and to the student teachers, and the report about either the content or the methodology used in the classroom. In the second moment, starting from the narration sphere, we discuss the ways in which the student teachers exhibit the actions in the sphere of the narrative in producing a text in which they describe those things. With this study, we answered two questions that we raiste. The first one being "when can we say that a report gives us clues of a process of knowledge growth?". We notice that, although as reports they are full of generalizations and concealments, they shows that produces knowledge about the conceptions of the teaching practice that guides the student teacher. The second question is "what can be considered as a 'good' report?", that we also answered. We conclude that a "good" report must fulfill at least two goals: a detailed and reflective writing, and a writing that undermines preconceived knowledge. The first goal is important to the student teacher to revisit his text and surpass his initial positions, reflecting on his data from the conceptions learned during the undergraduate course. The second goal concerns that the report needs to be understood as a practice in which the student teacher undermines his preconceived options, often "archaic and authoritarian", that he has about the subjects who take part in the class, about the school, and about the teaching process.

This dissertation discusses about time and narrative, focusing on the intersections between philosophy and Relato de um certo Oriente, by Milton Hatoum. It uses Paul Ricoeur's Temps et Récits as a fundamental guide in the analysis of the proposed dyad. Moreover, the phenomenological character of time provides a key to a qualitative study of the analysis of time in Relato, at the same time a study of narrative, passing through Aristotle's Poetics as an important element for the development of the notion of triple mimese and narrative theory, present in the theoretical work in question. Thinking about the phenomenon of time and its essential aspects for the fabulation of writing is a fundamental element that results in the observation of the experience of writing temporality. In this sense, the writing of this temporality in the account of a certain East re-forms the human experience in time and its forms of producing signs and abstracting meanings, by transposing the artistic recreation of image-time into the world of language.
