In Brazil, the Resolution No. 01/1986 of CONAMA (National Environmental Council) established basic criteria for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Impact Report (RIMA). However, globalization has driven changes in production patterns, leading to the emergence of corporate interests seeking to relax environmental licensing rules. This trend, particularly evident during the administrations of Temer and Bolsonaro, has resulted in policies more favorable to the business sector, including proposals for mineral exploration in indigenous lands. In the Amazon, this translates into a history of Large Projects that often exploit the region to the benefit of other parts of the country, leaving negative socio-environmental impacts. The quality of EIAs for mining enterprises in the state of Amapá is a point of concern, especially considering the dismantling of the environmental licensing process in Brazil since the 1980s. In this sense, this study aims to evaluate the quality of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) of mining ventures in the state of Amapá. The research problem to be addressed is: How have quality standards been implemented in Environmental Impact Assessments conducted by mining enterprises in Amapá? To achieve this, the quality of three mining EIAs for mining projects in the state of Amapá will be assessed using the internationally recognized Lee and Colley Review Package methodology. The results indicate that the studies are “unsatisfactory due to important omissions or inadequate points”.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise do curso de engenharia industrial da UFPA Abaetetuba empregando o método SERVQUAL na percepção discente(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-12) MARTINS, Harley dos santos; LOBATO, Beatriz Cardoso; SANTOS, Ismael Gomes dos; MELO, Andreza Negrão; RODRIGUES, Stefane DiasThe objective of this work is the development of a quantitative research, surveying the expectations and perceptions of students of industrial engineering in relation to the course. In this work, cellulase, pectinase and protease enzymes are used in the aqueous extraction process of cupuassu fat, aiming to obtain a higher extraction yield. Different incubation systems were tested, at a temperature of 60 °C and following extraction kinetics (2 to 8 hours). The samples that obtained the highest fat extraction efficiencies were analyzed: aqueous phase, in terms of phenolic compounds and antioxidant activity, and oily phase (fats) characterized in terms of physicochemical properties, fatty acid profile, oxidative stability, thermal and bioactive compounds. The aqueous phase showed higher concentrations of phenolic compounds and antioxidant activity when compared to the oil phase. The fat samples showed approximate contents of monounsaturated and saturated fatty acids with higher concentrations of oleic and stearic, showed good oxidative stability (about 14 h) and thermal stability (close to 406 oC) and the best yield result (80.86 %) was achieved with the protease enzyme within 6 hours of incubation. The results indicated that cupuassu fats obtained by enzymatic aqueous extraction have potential for use in the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics sectors.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Caracterização de tintas industriais aplicadas na região amazônica a partir de análises físico-químicas, mecânicas e de durabilidade(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-02-28) LUCAS, Mathaus Moraes; SILVA, Alisson Clay Rios da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7389345867032737; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9186-2287In Brazil, the industrial sector of paints and varnishes is among the five largest in the market. The manufacture of paints for various applications, with technology and technical responsibility, equals the most advanced global production centers. The durability of a paint refers to its resistance to weathering. For weathering, a weather-resistant paint is necessary so that fading does not occur on the substrate where it will be used, which can occur among some factors, due to the incidence of sunlight and heavy rains. The North region, with high rainfall, influenced by instability lines, presents significant spatial and seasonal heterogeneity of rainfall and has the highest annual rainfall total. Given this reality, a paint commercially applied in the Amazon region was developed. In the standard formulation, variations of mineral loads (Kaolin, Dolomite and Precipitated Calcium Carbonate) were made and subsequently analyses and tests were carried out to evaluate the performance of this paint, compared with the original formulation, such as abrasion resistance and weathering resistance. The paint production methodology will be according to Castro (2009) using Hare’s technique (1974). The characterization of the paints in the fresh state was carried out through the Viscosity, pH and specific weight tests, while the characterization of the paints in the hardened state was carried out through the abrasion resistance tests, weathering resistance test and Scanning Electron Microscopy. The physico-chemical tests revealed that, in relation to Stormer viscosity, all formulations exceeded the standard (130 KU), with the exception of the paints containing 30% Dolomite, 15% PCC, 15% Dolomite and the ternary combination of 5% Kaolin, 5% Dolomite and 20% PCC. As for the specific weight, the formulation that came closest to the standard was the binary paint with 15% Kaolin and 15% PCC, presenting an average value of 1.43 g/cm³. In terms of pH, all formulations showed alkalinity, with values ranging between 7.5 and 9.6. After a period of exposure of 180 days, none of the mixtures, including the standard formulation, showed the formation of pathologies, demonstrating resistance to weathering. The formulations with 30% Dolomite; 15% PCC and 15% Dolomite; 5% PCC, 5% Kaolin and 20% Dolomite; 10% Kaolin, 10% PCC and 10% Dolomite, exhibited respectively 300, 290, 240, 270 cycles of abrasion resistance, indicating the potential of these paints for a variety of applications, such as floor paints, external paints and road paints.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Fermentação de cacau (Theobroma cacao L.) conduzida com leveduras dos gêneros sacharomycess e pichia: qualidade e perfil aromático das amêndoas(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-10-11) FERREIRA, Osienne de Sousa; LOPES, Alessandra Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8156697119235191; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8584-5859This study aimed to evaluate the effect of Pichia manshurica, Pichia kudriavzevii and Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeasts on the quality and aromatic profile of fermented cocoa seeds from a municipality in Pará state. About 180 kg of cocoa seeds were distributed in four wooden troughs (n = 3), for spontaneous fermentation (without inoculum), with inoculations of P. manshurica, P. kudriavzevii and S. cerevisiae. Cocoa samples were aseptically collected throughout the fermentation and stored properly for microbiological and physicochemical analyzes (centesimal composition, acetic acid, ethanol, sugar profile, phenolic compounds, volatile compounds, cut test and heavy metals). It was observed that inoculations with yeast did not influence the physicochemical composition of fermented and dried seeds. However, during the fermentation process the seeds presented low acidity, especially those obtained from the fermentations inoculated with Pichia manshurica and Pichia kudriavzevii. Among the 34 volatile compounds identified in the samples studied, 5 were considered to be the majority (concentrations ≥ 10%), and 2 compounds (2-heptanol and linalol) were found to be higher in the fermentation inoculated with P. manshurica after the fermentation and drying process. followed by fermentation inoculated with P. kudriavzevii with the compounds benzaldehyde and phenylacetaldehyde. The fermentative performance of ethanol and acetic acid production was superior when fermentation inoculated with Sacharomyces cerevisiae was superior. The application of yeast inoculum influenced several quality parameters for a better standardization of the cocoa fermentation process.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Ferramentas para gestão estratégica da engenharia de manutenção: uma aplicação prática do MASP(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-07-04) SANTOS, Jackson Freitas; DUARTE, André Augusto Azevedo Montenegro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1135221873341973Typically, maintenance programs implemented in companies for generation, transmission and distribution of electricity that seek to avoid failure will cause the removal of equipment from the electrical system, which means large financial losses, either by decreased revenues, either by paying fines the regulatory agency, in addition to decreased system reliability. To avoid these drawbacks, the maintenance engineering makes use of strategic tools for the management of problems and solutions aimed at optimizing along with virtuous cycle of continuous improvement in maintenance processes. This study aims to make an analysis of the Methodology Analysis and Troubleshooting (MASP) as a strategic management tool to find and solve problems within the maintenance engineering. Thus initially presents a lot of information on the management of maintenance as well as the entire framework involving quality and management tools. With the chapter that deals specifically with MASP, have become a better sense of how each tool is required so that we can develop a good job, since it portrays that this methodology is nothing more than the sum of all existing tools placed in an orderly manner. Finally, we present four case studies where we intend to demonstrate the methodology Analysis and Troubleshooting (MASP) and applicability in strategic management vision into results in environmental engineering maintenance on the pillar of scheduled maintenance and autonomous - MP/MA within the Transmission Division Ji-Parana/RO - ADJR, linked to Power Plants in Northern Brazil (Eletronorte). In conclusion, it is a critical analysis of the methodology used in the provision of services, based on the above application.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O processo participativo na construção da política de gerenciamento costeiro do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-09-14) AZEVEDO, Iolene Freitas de; SZLAFSZTEIN, Claudio Fabian; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1348005678649555The coastal zone management process in Brazil considers the integrated model of its shares, with the involvement of all stakeholders in territorial and environmental planning area covering the coastal strip in the country. To do so, requires the incorporation of participatory processes, the presence of society in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of public policies aimed at managing this geographic area, which includes 17 Brazilian coastal states. These determinations were established by Federal Decree, which regulates the rules of use and occupation of the Brazilian coastal zone. However, coastal states began to design and implement public policies aimed at managing its coastline and, consequently, in the state of Para, were developed several actions that resulted in the construction of the Bill for the State Policy on Coastal Management, which occurred in different stages, involving 39 municipalities that make up the Para coastal strip, and several partner institutions in managing this space. The development of the steps was the setting for carrying out an investigation into the quality of participation in the construction of this legal instrument. It is a methodology, based on the strategy of QFD (Quality Function Deployment) which combines the requirements of consumers in the preparation of the product designs and production processes. The lack of knowledge of products or services to be sold is a major (and obvious) reasons for the failure of small retailers and services. In the current level of competitiveness, information is the key to business success and adapt to the market, not only to obtain and collect this information, but also to learn to interpret them and use them properly and in a creative way. The product quality is assessed both in terms of internal (technical) and the external aspect (quality required by customers). Research shows, in addition to the living reality of the industry of ceramics industries, the importance and attributes of quality defined by consumers on the red tiles. The work also shows the application of a methodology for companies in the sector through unfolding of the required quality, the quality is down planned.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Uso metodologia lean seis sigma para diagnóstico da qualidade dos serviços prestados em uma empresa do setor de telecomunicações(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2025-02-08) ARAÚJO, Mateus Araújo de; MARTINS, Harley dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3094067019584624; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1400-0939Growing competitiveness in the telecommunications market and increased demand for internet services have required companies to adopt more effective quality assessment methods, with a focus on continuous service improvement and customer retention. Among the various approaches available is Lean Six Sigma (LSS), a methodology that aims to improve operational performance and service quality. The aim of this research was to carry out a diagnosis of the quality of services provided in a telecommunications company, using the LSS methodology by analyzing cases of customer complaints. In addition, the study seeks to contribute to the scientific literature, given the limited number of studies dealing with the application of LSS in the telecommunications sector. To carry out this research, a case study strategy was adopted, covering all complaints registered throughout 2023. Data collection was based on secondary information extracted from the company's ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system. The data was processed using Microsoft Excel software, enabling detailed analysis of the complaints. It was identified that the company's process was below excellence levels, with a sigma level of 3 and a cost of quality of 25 to 40%, suggesting significant opportunities for improvement. The Pareto diagram revealed that approximately 92% of the complaints were concentrated in two main problems: “slow internet” and “no internet”. Analysis of the Ishikawa diagram showed that the causes of the complaints were multifactorial, covering technical, operational and environmental aspects. The 5W1H and GUT Matrix tools were key to organizing and prioritizing improvement actions efficiently, ensuring that the proposed interventions focused on the most critical problems. The diagnosis provided a detailed overview of the quality of the company's services, serving as the basis for implementing a continuous improvement plan. In addition, the research fills a gap in the literature by addressing the application of LSS in telecommunications companies. The results can serve as a reference for other organizations in the sector seeking to optimize their processes and improve customer satisfaction. However, the research had some limitations, such as the exclusive focus on the 2023 complaints, the absence of a satisfaction survey applied directly to customers and the nonimplementation of the proposed improvements. For future studies, we suggest extending the period of analysis, including positive and neutral customer interactions, applying satisfaction surveys and validating the recommended improvements in practice. These actions will allow for a more comprehensive understanding of service quality and confirmation of the effectiveness of the proposed improvements.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Utilização do ciclo PDCA para melhoria de qualidade e aumento de produtividade em uma multinacional do polo industrial de Manaus(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-11-05) FERREIRA, Francisco do Espírito Santo Rodrigues; MAGALHÃES, Edilson Marques; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1570353513360972In the multinational company in question it was realized that the quality and productivity indicators were not being achieved.
