Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Comunicação, neoconservadorismo e reconhecimento: tensões, contradições e disputas acerca das noções de família no Brasil em ambientes de visibilidade ampliada(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-09-29) SEREJO, Elias Santos; LAGE, Danila Gentil Rodriguez Cal; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4593992869253877; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3243-8368The democratic crises and political ruptures marked by the 2016 coup, which polarized the public debate in Brazil, showed us that the notions of family have guided contemporary discussions, especially when tensioned from the advances in the struggles for recognition taken up by the LGBTQIA+ populations and of women, through the feminist gender debate. In different spaces, we were able to witness the mobilization of the concept of traditional, or nuclear, family, as a resource for coping with social changes arising from the visibility of other relationships and ways of being and living. At the same time, we also see in debate arenas the assertion that, as a historical-social construct, the family entity is mutable and diverse. In this context, we ask ourselves: what arguments are put forward in the public sphere to defend one or another way of dealing with the issue? And how do the media act in this context? These questions instigated this research. Our general objective in this work is to understand how the notions of family guide the contemporary political debate from the tensions arising from the action of social movements and the meanings produced about the family category in the media. Specifically, we want to a) Identify which senses/notions and arguments about family emerge in different communicational contexts; b) Identify which contemporary landmarks are decisive for the debate on families in the political agenda; c) Understand what notion of politics or democracy underlies discourses about families and what elements/characteristics/aspects of the family entity are in dispute; f) Understand how social movements from different political spectrums (conservatives and progressives) build their political agendas around the family category. For this, we focus on a theoretical framework to understand the elements that led to the rise of the extreme right in western democracies, the convenient partnership between neoconservatives and fundamentalist Christians, especially evangelicals, and the strength of neoliberalism operating as rationality in social relations. In addition, we seek to understand the role of the media in inserting themes for discussion in the public sphere and how social movements appropriate environments of increased visibility to reverberate their agendas. The corpus of analysis consists of texts published on the news portals O Globo and Estadão; and the content of progressive (ABRAFH and Aliança LGBTI+) and conservative (Instituto Plínio Corrêa Oliveira and Movimento de Defesa da Família) sites. To answer our questions, we developed a Content Analysis with technological support from the Iramuteq software, which helped us to systematize the data. For each dimension, we established categories based on the Descending Hierarchical Classification (CHD) derived from the Reinert Method, produced by the software. The categorization allowed us to understand the available arguments about families that deal with the defense of a rigid structure, which contributes to the maintenance of traditionality and an expanded notion of family.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Desenvolvimento de aplicativos usando reconhecimento e síntese de voz(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2006-08-30) SAMPAIO NETO, Nelson Cruz; KLAUTAU JÚNIOR, Aldebaro Barreto da Rocha; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1596629769697284Speech is a natural mechanism for human-machine interaction. Speech (or voice) technology is a well-developed field when one considers the international community. There is a wide variety of academic and industrial software. The majority of them assumes a recognizer or synthesizer is available, and can be programmed through an API. In contrast, there are no such resources in public domain for Brazilian Portuguese. This work discusses some of these issues and compares SAPI and JSAPI, which are APIs promoted by Microsoft and Sun, respectively. We also present two examples: a CALL application using SAPI-based speech synthesis in English and Portuguese, recognition in English, and visual agents; and a JSAPI-based software that incorporates speech synthesis and recognition to IRC through Java APIs.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Luta por reconhecimento: uma análise intersubjetiva das histórias de vida de catadoras de materiais recicláveis(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-08-30) CORTEZ, Flávia Celeira; AMARAL FILHO, Otacílio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2605877670235703The recycled garbage pickers as a labor category constitute a social phenomenon in the global south and expresses economic, social and environmental contradictions in the dynamics of global capitalism. In Latin America, this category is organized through the Latin American and Caribbean Network of Recyclers - RedLacre, on a national scale by the National Movement of Gabage Pickers - MNCR, and in Pará through the networks: Rede Recicla Pará, Rede CataPará and Rede CentPará, composed of several cooperatives and associations in the Metropolitan Region and interiors. Throughout the research, it is clear that the struggle for recognition is the statement that unites both the discourse of the social movement and the history of life and subjectivity of these people, the major theme on which work and life are based. Based on this perception, the aim of this research was to understand how the relationship between the dimensions of the Fighting to be Recognition proposed by Axel Honneth (2009) dialogues and makes explicit the relations of Coloniality of Power (Quijano, 2005) from the narratives of life stories of garbage pickers. The research presents in chapter 1 the contextualization of garbage pickers today within cooperatives and associations based on research carried out at the Federal University of Pará, and discusses research potentialities within this context. Chapter 2 deals with the coloniality of power from Quijano and Mignolo (2005) to understand other perspectives for interpreting the subjective and material complexities in Latin America. Chapter 3 presents the concept of Fighting to be Recognition in Honneth (2009) from the dimensions of love, law and social esteem, as concepts for analyzing the life stories of recyclable pickers from a perspective of how these statements they approach the fighting to be recognition and permeate the construction of subjectivities in coloniality.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Pescadoras: subordinação de gênero e empoderamento(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-12) MANESCHY, Maria Cristina Alves; SIQUEIRA, Deis Elucy; ÁLVARES, Maria Luzia MirandaSince the last decade, studies on the fishing sector from a gender perspective have been growing, perceiving the ways gender constructions influence on how women and men work and face the risks linked to the recent changes that have been affecting the fishing activity. However, the related policies remain gender blind. This article discusses two main arguments. First, the silence about the women roles and places in fishing correlates to the vulnerability of many coastal communities in northern and southern countries. Second, fisherwomen movements have contributed to disrupt the status quo and to provide them access to empowerment policies, notably in relation to spaces and social rights. At the same time, their social movements aim to foster the local communities' capacities to manage their common resources, to adapt to social and environmental complexities and to promote gender equity. Empowerment process is complex and contradictory.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Segregação racial na orla de Belém: os portos públicos da Estrada Nova e o Ver-o-Peso(Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi, 2016-12) PEIXOTO, Rodrigo Corrêa Diniz; SILVA, Jakson Silva daThe municipal government, through urban developments, plans to gentrify public spaces in Belém´s waterfront. Gentrification here means to transform public spaces into consumption places, leading to the removal of people and, with them, the sociability that gives identity to these places. Public spaces focused here are the ports of Palha and Açaí and the Ver-o-Peso market. They are important places for popular life in Belém, mostly for the black people who use them. Thousands of people comute daily between these places in the continent and the many islands on the other side of the river. Gentrification tends to remove these people, most of them poor, and their activities to more distant areas. As the popular saying goes, ‘poverty has a color’. People resist urban developments that exclude black people. Nevertheless, racial factor isn’t acknowledged as contributing to segregation nor the racial argument is present in resistance discourse. Put together the cultural dimension and the racial factor recognized they would add significant weight to the capacity of resistance and insurgence among this population affected by the changes. This is a point the article raises.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Terra de ninguém! o que será do pae santo afonso com a implantação do terminal portuário de uso privado – tup Abaetetuba?(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-11-23) VASCONCELOS, Tatiane Rodrigues de; TRECCANI, Girolamo Domenico; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4319696853704535; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4639-9881The research has as a reference the recognition of the right to territory for traditional peoples and communities in the Santo Afonso Agroextractivist Project, located in the Xingu Island, in the municipality of Abaetetetuba/Pa, in the scope of the National Program of Agrarian Reform through the National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform-Incra in partnership with the Secretary of the Union Patrimony.
