    This thesis analyzes the weak participation of young people in the shared management of a coastal protected area – Extractive Reserve - in Bragança municipality, Pará State (Brazil). It focuses on the question: if the Reserve is a public policy aimed at the environmental sustainability of the territory, how to ensure this goal without meaningful participation of young residents and users? The research data derive from interviews with eighty young residents of two villages within the Reserve jurisdiction, as well as with the leaders and managers. It found that the youngsters do engage in communitarian practices without, however, entering the arenas of the territory management, especially local committees and councils. Actually, they more often ignore the policy from which they benefit. Besides, there is no consistent capacity building in view of the new commitments regarding the Reserve management. They face the dilemma of staying or leaving the communities, as there are few opportunities to work and study. Their life projects are thought away from fishing, crabs collection and small farming within the boundaries of their communities. It is therefore necessary to invest in socializing means to involve young dwellers in the formal spaces of management, in ways that encourage their creative potential and cooperation. The end is to foster local livelihoods and culture, backing the identity of their territory in its new social and political structure.

    Pensando com a educação crítica para crítica da educação ambiental na reserva extrativista Ipaú-Anilzinho

    This study had as object the Environmental Education (E.A) from Anilzinho and Joana Peres EMEIF. This formulation sought to answer the following questions: What is an evident context about the socio-educational reality of Anilzinho EMEIF and Joana Peres EMEF for an Environmental Education by critical bias? What Environmental Educational propositions have been thought for EMEIF context from Anilzinho and EMEIF from Joana Peres as E.A practices? How does E.A present itself at EMEIF from Anilzinho and at EMEF from Joana Peres, having as context traditional communities and the institutionalization of RESEX? It was sought to make an analysis about the present E.A in the perception of educator subjects and in the context of EMEIF from Anilzinho and EMEF from Joana Peres as an instrument of pedagogical mediation and environmental sociability. The methodology was produced by bibliographical review and semi-structured interview, using as reference method historical-dialectical materialism and, as a technique of interpretation, content analysis. The study came up to some conclusions: The schools’ subjects and contexts have little institutionalization knowledge of the National Policy of Environmental Education and although the E.A came to be part of the social conscience of the school educator subjects, these have not promoted theory-practicing, pedagogical organization, discusses among schools and RESEX, between traditional and scientific knowledge, school articulation, policy and community, as well as, formation, understanding on RESEX, E.A and other resources to produce advances over Socio-environmental schools reality from Anilzinho and Joana Peres.

    As possibilidades da inserção da Educação ambiental em unidades de conservação: o caso da reserva extrativista “Ipaú-Anilzinho” na Amazônia tocantina

    This work presents the issue about Environmental Education in Protected Area (extractive reserve) which holds the Conservation Units of the National System (CUNS, Law 9.985, July 18th, 2000). The lócus of research were Joana Peres and Anilzinho Communities which holds Ipaú-Anilzinho Extractive Reserve located in Baião/Pa Municipality in the Northeast of Pará. It had as fact the environmental education actions developed by ICMBio at RESEX Ipaú-Anilzinho and the matter listed as question of how actions of environmental education as public politics in sense of conservation unit are related with RESEX management and how they contribute to the local development of the communities. The environmental education analysis field was not stuck on schooling formal education but on informal and non-formal education that presents the actions target developed by ICMBio and the populations’ activities from RESEX. In this research it was used historical-speech materialism with theory perspective, and qualitative approach, that permits to the qualitative supervisors understand their methods in historical context. We supported the discussion of critical theory as theoretical field foundation and the analysis was made through Marxism method which guides the research considering Marxism elements inserted into speech, history and mediation. By the method substantiation we thought about environmental incursion directed to: environmental crisis, environmental protection space constitution, as well as their environmental education of institution processes as mediator of actions in this area for environmental sustainability construction, involving traditional communities and public force which manage these spaces. Advance and backspace were identified and at the content analysis we identify that besides the difficulties undertaken as public force as traditional populations, there were advances with the creation of extractive reserve, we also identify that the Environmental Education National Politic is present on ICMBio actions through Environmental Education National Program and the actions of the managing body have effects and contribute to the development of the reserve, in addition other situations have surfaced and need to be remedied as, the conflicts that make difficult the management of the UC by situations that go from the illegal extraction of wood, absence of reserve's parent association, the division of the reserve into poles (North and South), resistance to ICMBio's presence and actions by a portion of residents, absence of a pedagogical proposal in the school that considers the reserve area, management plan not approved, permanence of settlements and non-traditional populations in the RESEX, among other situations pointed out in the work. The research made possible understanding of the duality of man / nature and will certainly contribute in new perspectives to help in the construction of possible proposals of intervention of environmental education for more efficient management of the UC.
