Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Os açaizais nas ilhas de Abaetetuba - PA: etnoconhecimento e manejo(Universidade Federal de Roraima, 2022-08) NEGRÃO, Antonia do Socorro Silva; MANESCHY, Rosana Quaresma; BARBOSA, Wagner Luiz RamosHuman populations interact with natural ecosystems and develop practices for the use of natural resources and from their daily experiments generate empirical knowledge. The research aimed to systematize the knowledge about the açaí ethnovarieties present in the Abaetetuba Islands PA and the management carried out by riverside dwellers in the floodplain areas with native açaizais to contribute to the dialogue between technical assistance agents and the riverside residents. In the surveyed islands, three black, white and one ethnovarieties were identified. The description of ethnovarieties was carried out based on the ethnodescriptors commonly used by riverside dwellers. The research located the origin of the genetic resources of the three ethnovarieties of açaí and this information can be used by research and technical assistance as an instrument of genetic conservation on farm. It was found that the riverside inhabitants of the main açaí producing islands in the municipality of Abaetetuba are not receiving technical assistance to carry out the management of the açaizais.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) De seringueiro a ribeirinho: um estudo de caso sobre a reprodução do modo de vida beiradeiro na comunidade Bela Vista, reserva extrativista rio Xingu(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-08-23) TORRES, Maria Augusta Martins Rodrigues; NAHUM, João Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9009465125001273This dissertation is a case study on the reproduction of the beiradeiro (riverine) way of life in the middle Xingu river region. The study analyzes three aspects of the way of life that produced this place, from its origin to the present day. The former Belo Horizonte seringal (rubber state), more than 300km distant from Altamira's town, in the state of Pará, was inhabited by non-indigenous migrants since the last years of the 19th century. Today, in this same space, there are riverine families living in the Bela Vista community, which since 2008 has been part of the Rio Xingu Extractive Reserve. The study shows how beiradeiro’s way of life has been reproduced in this place, the dynamics of the use of space, the work involved in the support of families and the social relations existing in the place, comparatively in the “time of the seringais” and in the “community time”.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Etnoconhecimento do manejo de açaizais: a elaboração de material didático para contribuir com o diálogo de saberes entre ribeirinhos e assistência técnica nas Ilhas de Abaetetuba – PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-11-22) NEGRÃO, Antonia do Socorro Silva; BARBOSA, Wagner Luiz Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1372405563294070; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2421-8245; MANESCHY, Rosana Quaresma; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5914095913079907; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4432-7331Didactic material on the management of açaí groves (Euterpe oleracea Mart.) Produced, such as booklets and books; it usually contains illustrations associated with agronomic technical terms. The present product brings the systematization of the knowledge that surrounds the management of native açaí groves and the linguistic variations in the colloquial language used in the Abaetetuba Islands to contribute to the dialogue between technical assistance agents and the riverside residents. The material is composed of an agroecological sheet on the “Management of native açaizal in the islands of Abaetetuba - PA”, the book “Glossary of regional expressions related to the management of açaizais used by riverside dwellers in the islands of Abaetetuba - PA” and the exhibition “Artifacts of the local culture that permeate the extraction of açaí in Abaetetuba - PA ”. The agroecological form provides technical information on the management of açaí groves carried out by riverine people in simple and accessible language. The glossary lists, in alphabetical order, linguistic variations in the colloquial language used by riverine people, related to the management of açaizal, with the definition of these terms. The exhibition complemented the glossary by presenting parts of plants necessary for making the artifacts used from collection to the extraction of açaí, demonstrating the biocultural importance of different species for riverside dwellers.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) A importância da água para a reprodução da comunidade São José do Furo Maracapucu, Abaetetuba – Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-04) LIMA, Walter Chile RodriguesThe aim of this study is to highlight the importance of water for reproduction of São José Community riverside populations of the Maracapucu hole and the relation with the belief, locomotion, productive activities and habits. It aims to investigate the use of açaí in the daily life of the riverine as income generation, food and cultural identity, considering that, despite its full use, its fruits stand out as the most important part used by the population in the economic aspect. To do so, a bibliographic survey was initially conducted, based on Nogueira, Homma, Canto, Lily, Ferrão, Oliveira, Tavares, Figueirêdo, Müller, etc. From this, the methodology was followed with the intention of studying the spatial dynamics of the varzeiros populations. Therefore, the field research used as instruments: observations, photographic records, interviews and semi-structured questionnaires applied to the varzeiros families of the rural zone, focusing on the production, industrialization and commercialization delimiting the theme around the research on the methods and techniques used by the riverside in the cultivation of açaí. The data collection followed the following questions: What are the most significant changes in the varzeiro mode caused by the management of acai in the municipality of Limoeiro do Ajuru; What are the main challenges and opportunities offered by the management of açaí of the floodplains of the municipality. The analysis of the collected data took into consideration the lifestyle bias, which designates the set of actions taken by a particular human group in order to ensure its existence. In other words, it analyzes the concrete condition of the life of a group capable of revealing the essence of its socio- spatial phenomena. Then, a set of reports of riparian-varzeiros was produced, valuing their life stories, related to the time before and after the management of açaí in their localities, thus contributing to the production of scientific knowledge, providing a better understanding about this problem, thus improving the practice of management.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) O “interior” e as águas: entre paisagens, mobilidades e tecnologias de uma vida ribeirinha em São Sebastião da Boa Vista no Marajó-PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-08-20) LIMA, Joicieli Pereira de; BUENO, Michele Escoura; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3126701924384242This research arises from an internal confrontation with my own identity, and so I question whether the people who live in São Sebastião da Boa Vista in Marajó identify themselves as riverside or not. However, upon arriving in the field I realize that people in their daily lives are not using riverside as an identity, except in certain sporadic moments, and what appears constantly is the “interior” category, which in turn will be activated i ) sometimes as something negative and pejorative, considering the entire historical and social process that the word “interior” carries with it, ii) or from the confrontation with the “other”, this category will be one of valorization and reaffirmation. From the practice of people's daily lives, it was possible to notice that they were moving whether through the river, the dry land, the mud, but that within this movement the notion of time and space to refer to what is close and what is far it was being mediated by people's relationship with different landscapes, mainly by the presence or absence of water, understanding it as part of their reality and their way of life, acting in accordance with this connection to their own daily lives. Given this, I try to understand what it means to be from the “interior” for people, and from this I realize that the State reduces what it means to be riverside to a way of life linked only to the river, but that when seen through the practice of life people's daily lives, not only the river matters, but all the waters and their variations will constitute the production of the perception of belonging and their ways of life.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Maré de resistência: a luta do movimento social ribeirinho diante da implantação portuária do agronegócio no Baixo Tocantins(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-04-27) SILVA, João Sérgio Neves da; ACEVEDO MARIN, Rosa Elizabeth; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0087693866786684; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7509-3884Traditional riverside communities in the region of the Abaetetuba islands will be affected by the construction and operation of the port complex of Cargill Agrícola S.A. Ways of life and survival are compromised and threatened by the intense navigation of barges in the Capim watershed. The new social movements are now not only mobilized and organized, in defense of their claims, but also in confrontation with their adversaries, and in the struggle for common rights. This study seeks to assess that riverine social movements are capable of producing political action strategies, in confrontation with the economic power of the company. he articulation of forces that, together with supporting institutions – Cáritas, CPT, STR, FASE, MORIVA, MP, Public Defender's Office of the State – offer a powerful form of organized resistance to the harmful effects of the economic interests of the company Cargill Agrícola SA The information was collected through a documentary survey and field research data, through qualitative methods, with interviews with the leaders of the local social movement, in total (08) and the leaders of the support institutions of six (06). Through a descriptive study of the action strategies and institutionalization mechanisms of the riverside social movement in Baixo Tocantins, it was revealed that the company makes their rights invisible as traditional populations in the territory, initiates a process of expropriation of populations, co-opts leaders, establishes its political and institutional connections with municipal, state and federal entities, for the construction of the TUP Abaetetuba port complex initiates the expropriation process, co-opts leaders, establishes political and institutional connections with municipal, state and federal entities, in order to complete the construction of the TUP Abaetetuba port complex.Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Rios (em) movimentos: mobilidades turísticas nas Ilhas do Combu e de Cotijuba - Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-01-10) MEGUIS, Thiliane Regina Barbosa; ALLIS, Thiago; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8352597486424889; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9070-7928; BAHIA, Mirleide Chaar; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6052323981745384; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7168-2019Understanding that Amazonian cities are formed by urban and riverside characteristics, which make up the mobile social life on the islands of Combu and Cotijuba, is essential to understanding the ways of life, values and habits that are shaped by the river and the forest, not just as a place for the flow of people or passage, goods and survival, but of ideas, singularities and symbols that are part of the riverside way of living. In view of the above, the main objective of this research was to analyze how tourist mobility develops on the islands of Combu and Cotijuba, taking into account the dynamics of displacement and the socioeconomic potential of the symbolic and cultural relationships of different social groups and their relationship with rivers, and as specific objectives: identify and analyze the importance of tourist and leisure activities linked to the dimension and/or experience with rivers in the Amazon; and finally, analyze the role of the landscape for the islands of Combu and Cotijuba in the constitution of tourist activity, in the sense that the experience of the journey can provide contact with the landscape of the destination. Of a qualitative nature, ethnography was used as the guiding thread capable of making me understand the local reality from an inside and outside perspective. From the inside when I, with my riverside roots, let myself be influenced by the experience provided in the field. And from the outside when I observe the phenomenon as a researcher, trying not to let myself be influenced by my roots. It was through the ethnographic approach that I, as a researcher, was able to base field practice, facilitating the interrelationship between myself and local agents and their experiences. Auto ethnography is also used as a technique capable of relating my experiences, with those of the interviewees, in the field of relationships that are constructed and reconstructed during the analysis. Observation and records (field diary, photographs, videos, among others) were able to relate to each other in a combined approach with interviews, conversations and notes. The investigation was also guided by the use of mobile methods, so that I could be together with the research participants and thus understand the phenomena that occur during movement, fundamental to interpreting riverside experiences in the Amazon. It was possible to observe that although movement and moving together is crucial for the research and for each moment chosen by me, such as yoga, the chocolate trail, scheduled visits and moments following groups or individual people, it is worth highlighting that the non movement was also part of the research and it talks a lot about people and their individual and collective experiences. When your body is still and watching the river, it makes you move, as the river continues to flow, carrying stories that are constructed and reconstructed in this dynamic. The boats continue to move, ideas and thoughts continue, little by little, in constant movement.
