Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A ametista de Pau d' Arco e Alto Bonito no Pará e a do Alto Uruguai no Rio Grande do Sul(Universidade Federal do Pará, 1998-03-23) CASSINI, Carlos Tadeu; COSTA, Marcondes Lima da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1639498384851302Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Babaçu livre e queijo serrano: histórias de resistência à legalização da violação a conhecimentos tradicionais(2014-06) PORRO, Noemi Sakiara Miyasaka; MENASCHE, Renata; SHIRAISHI NETO, JoaquimThis article is about experiences carried out by communities whose ways of life generate and sustain traditional knowledge, in contexts of incorporation of international conventions into the Brazilian juridical system. Case studies on babaçu breaker women, in the State of Maranhão, and Serrano Cheese producers, in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, reveal the meanings of the tradition imbued in the knowledge to be protected. Empirical data analyzed under juridical and anthropological perspectives elicit, in spite of the apparent progress in the legislation, threats to multiple dimensions of ways of life grounded on traditional territories. Without effective, immediate and integral application of the ILO Convention 169, current initiatives of implementation of conventions and laws related to traditional knowledge may have opposite results. We conclude that traditional communities resist illegal appropriation of their knowledge, while interested private sectors search for the support of the rule of law to legitimize plundering.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Competitividade interna na bovinocultura de corte no Estado do Rio Grande do Sul(2011-06) OAIGEN, Ricardo Pedroso; BARCELLOS, Júlio Otávio Jardim; CANOZZI, Maria Eugênia Andrighetto; CHRISTOFARI, Luciana Fagundes; SOARES, Jean Carlos dos Reis; ALVES, Carine OliveiraThe present research aimed to identify the main internal factors (costs, income, techno-economic feasibility and technologic innovation use) which affect the beef cattle activity competitiveness in a complete cycle production system in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The data was collected during the year of 2008 based on monthly meetings between the months of January and December. Later the data was analyzed in eletronic spreadsheets. The costs were subdivided in disbursed, operating and total costs and the income in category and total. Among the evaluated costs, the land opportunity cost, labor force and animal supplementation with values of 19.9%, 18.3%, 13.6% respectively, can be pointed out in relation to total cost. The main financial and technical indicators commonly used in production systems analysis were calculated. The economic margins (gross, operating and net), as well as the profitability over the net worth were positive which show economic feasibility in the activity. At the same time, technical indicators as the output rate and the productivity/ha showed satisfactory values. Thus it can be concluded that the evaluated internal factors were very competitive for the studied system.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Composição de espécies de Arctiidae (Lepidoptera) no sul do Brasil: relação entre tipos de vegetação e entre a configuração espacial do hábitat(2009-06) FERRO, Viviane Gianluppi; TESTON, José AugustoWe describe the beta-diversity pattern of the Arctiidae in Rio Grande do Sul State (RS) and assess whether this pattern is related to similarities in vegetation type or geographic distance among areas. We analysed 9420 specimens in 13 scientific collections, as well as two published checklists. Three hundred twenty nine arctiid species were recorded for 55 localities. This richness corresponded to 5.6% of the Neotropical fauna, and 16.5% of the estimated Brazilian fauna. Fifty two species (15.8%) were recorded for the first time in the state. There was no relationship between beta-diversity (Sorensen distance) and geographic distance among the localities, suggesting that the spatial configuration of the habitat did not influence significantly the locomotion of the Arctiidae moths among landscapes. The multivariate analysis suggested that the Arctiidae fauna differ among vegetation types. The composition of the fauna at the Floresta Ombrófila Mista (Araucaria forest) is very distinct from other vegetation type faunas. Species richness was higher on forest habitats than in open habitats.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Efeitos do peso vivo sobre a comercialização de bezerros de corte em leilões(2010-04) CHRISTOFARI, Luciana Fagundes; BARCELLOS, Júlio Otávio Jardim; BRACCINI NETO, José; OAIGEN, Ricardo Pedroso; SANTOS, Angélica Pereira dos; CANOZZI, Maria Eugênia AndrighettoThe effects of the live weight of 1,880 lots of calves marketed in 13 auctions in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, on the value of final sale per unit of weight were evaluated, as well as the frequency of the lots according to the weight class during the autumn and spring seasons, in the period from 2004 to 2006, was characterized. The data were analyzed by frequency histograms, regression, and correlation analyses. The live weight is one of the characteristics that influenced the price of the calves; however, the magnitude of the effect was higher in years of great demand. A negative correlation was observed between price and weight of the calves in spring, which were results of the offer of heavier animals, due to the season effects or the oldest age of the calves compared to those presented in the autumn. The chain conjuncture of the bovine meat and the prices of other categories have great relation with the prices paid. Therefore, the acquisition of highter or heavier animals in the occasion of the business deal may help in the reduction of the costs represented by the replacement in the production.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estudo geoquímico e isotópico dos processos metalogenéticos associados ao depósito de Pb-Zn (Cu-Ag) Santa Maria, região de Caçapava do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-05-11) PEREIRA, David Ramos; MACAMBIRA, Moacir José Buenano; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8489178778254136Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Evolução e reversibilidade das lesões neurológicas e cardíacas em ovinos intoxicados experimentalmente por Ateleia glazioviana e Tetrapterys multiglandulosa(2008-03) ALMEIDA, Milton Begeres de; PRIEBE, Amanda Pantaleão da Silva; RIVERO, Beatriz Riet Correa; CORREA, Gabriela Riet; FISS, Letícia; RAFFI, Margarida Buss; SCHILD, Ana LuciaTo determine the reversibility of neurological and cardiac lesions in Ateleia glazioviana and Tetrapterys multiglandulosa poisoning, 3 groups of four sheep each were fed orally with the plants. In Group 1, 2 and 3, when sheep with nervous signs showed considerable increase of symptoms and risk of death, the plant administration was suspended. Group 4 with two sheep was used as control. Sheep from Group 1, fed 10g/kg during 6 days of fresh A. glazioviana collected in autumn were euthanized 8, 11, 16, and 21 days after the start of the experiment; they had shown regression of nervous signs, but had progressive cardiac lesions. Sheep from Group 2, fed during 8 days the same dose of fresh A. glazioviana collected in spring, were euthanized on days 9, 23, 38 and 68; they had shown regression of nervous signs and had no cardiac lesions. This suggests that the plant is less toxic in spring. Sheep from Group 3, fed 10g/kg during 11 days dry and ground T. multiglandulosa mixed with concentrated food, were euthanized on days 33, 33, 92 and 92; they had shown regression of nervous signs, and cardiac lesions were less severe on day 33 than on day 92. These results indicate that nervous lesions are reversible after the end of feeding, but cardiac lesions are progressive after discontinuation of the plant administration; these can be afterwards reversible if the animals do not anymore show clinical signs or die as a consequence of the poisoning. Results of those and previous experiments show that lesions of the nervous system are induced by lower doses than cardiac lesions and occur within a shorter period, what suggests that in spontaneous cases cardiac signs are always preceded by nervous signs, and that nervous signs can occur in the absence of cardiac lesions.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Memórias de trabalho nas paisagens missioneiras do "antes-tempo"(2013-06) SILVEIRA, Flávio Leonel Abreu daThe present article raises reflections on the thematic of work in the região missioneira gaúcha, a colonial missionary region in the extreme south of Brazil. The study uses as reference the legacy of the jesuítico-guaranismissions and their unfolding today, through the memories of the people who live in that portion of the Rio Grande do Sul State. For this, the article bases itself on field research conducted over approximately one year, which had as one of its ethnographic interests the attempt to understand the processes of landscape transformation in the region through technical-cultural actions related to the work universe.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Methods of inducing conditioned food aversion to Baccharis coridifolia (mio-mio) in cattle(2013-10) ALMEIDA, Milton Begeres de; SCHILD, Ana Lucia; PFISTER, James A.; PIMENTEL, Marcelo; FORSTER, Karine Maciel; CORREA, Franklin RietThree experiments were performed to determine the efficacy of various methods of averting naïve cattle to prevent Baccharis coridifolia poisoning: forced oral administration of 0.5g kg-1 body weight of fresh B. coridifolia; forced inhalation of the smoke from burning B. coridifolia and rubbing the plant on the animals' muzzles and mouths; and introducing the animals into paddocks with low invasion by B. coridifolia. Results demonstrated that cattle forced to ingest low doses become strongly averted if introduced into paddocks 23-26 hours after the aversion. In contrast, cattle introduced into the paddocks between 1-10 hours were not fully averted. Inhalation of B. coridifolia smoke, and rubbing the plant on the animals' muzzles and mouths were not efficient to induce an aversion. The introduction of cattle into paddocks with approximately 1% of B. coridifolia was efficient if the animals remained 5 months in the area, but not if they only remained for 60 hours, as cattle required sufficient time to learn to avoid the plant.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A personagem feminina em “Linha do Parque”, de Dalcídio Jurunadir(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-04-24) SANTOS, Alinnie Oliveira Andrade; FURTADO, Marli Tereza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2382303554607592The writer Dalcidio Jurandir (1909 - 1979) published ten novels that comprise the so-called Ciclo do Extremo Norte, and also contributed to various Belem and Rio de Janeiro periodicals and wrote the book Linha do Parque (1959). This novel, written in the mold of Socialist Realism – the official aesthetic of the Soviet Union (USSR) in that period, which extended also to several other countries, through their communist parties – chronicles the struggles of workers in the Rio Grande city, at Rio Grande do Sul, during the first half of the twentieth century. In this work, the emphasis is noticeable for women working in factories and at meetings of the Workers' Union, which actively participate on equal terms with men. This study therefore aims to analyze the importance of female characters to develop this narrative, emphasizing those who have had great participation in the struggles of the workers described in the novel, also reflecting on the ideological manifestations that are present in the work.
