This is a study about the Initial Remuneration Policies for Teachers of the Municipal Education Network of Belém. The research aimed at apprehending the Remuneration Policies of teachers from the Remuneration changes, which occurred in the period from 1991 to 2013. To guide the investigative process, the following questions were defined: What types of Remuneration Policies are included in the Legislation? Are Compensation Policies that value the Professor? Has there been any progress or setbacks in the construction of the Remuneration Policies for the teachers of the Belém municipal school system, since the approval of the Statute of the Magisterium from 1991 to 2013? The salary tables reveal what is placed in the Statute of the Magisterium ?. In relation to the methodology of the research, dialectical historical materialism was adopted as methodological orientation. The data collection was developed through documents of the Municipal Department of Education of Belém - SEMEC. The research results show, based on the indicators (national minimum wage and minimum wage of the DIEESE), both the salary and the initial remuneration of teachers were valued, albeit in different proportions among teachers. It was also observed that the remuneration policies for teachers with a medium-level education value the fixed part that makes up the remuneration, that is, the salary.
