Data analysis generated two categories: discourses on Sustainable Development from the perspective of economic development presente in the media and the discourses of sustainable development in the exploitation of natural resources. The discourses presented link the concept of economic development to the capitalist logic of economic development.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Contribuição da geração solar fotovoltaica na certificação de edificações públicas pelo RTQ-C e em edifícios de energia zero: laboratório de ensino da Universidade Federal do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020) SILVA, Hosaías Alves dos Prazeres; TOSTES, Maria Emília de Lima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4197618044519148This work presents the contribution of solar photovoltaic generation as a renewable source in the methodology for obtaining Level A Label in Energy Efficiency certification and for the transformation into a Zero Energy Building, being applicable to buildings and public teaching laboratories. The methodology step-by-step essentially consists of two stages: the first, through an energetic diagnosis of the building analyzed, following the guidelines established in the Technical Regulation on Quality in Commercial, Service and Public Buildings - RTQ-C (in portuguese), resulting in a proposal of energetic, financial and environmental improvement processed with the aid of the RETScreen® software; and the second, dimensioning a photovoltaic solar generation system, based on local measurement data and the Meteonorm® software, as a bonus for obtaining the Level A Label of the RTQ-C levels and with energy production capacity that makes the energetic balance of the building as positive, making it a Zero Energy Building. In order to contextualize the relevance of the work and update the reader in the state of the art applicable to the methodology, a bibliographic review is presented, directed to the benefits of Energy Efficiency in public buildings and to the RTQ-C; to the current scenario, application and contribution of Solar Photovoltaic Energy in sustainable development, in obtaining nationally and internationally recognized classifications for public buildings; and the concepts currently used by the academic community to characterize Zero Energy Buildings. The bibliographic review and methodology were applied in a case study of the Laboratory of Electrical and Computer Engineering – LEEC (in portuguese), located at the Campus Guamá of the Federal University of Pará, with presentation of the energetic, financial and environmental results, showing that it is a solution to be applied in public institutions and buildings that have available space and similar infrastructure to that of the LEEC.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) O desenvolvimento sustentável e a implementação de políticas públicas na Amazônia(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-09) MOREIRA, Carla Siqueira; RIBEIRO, Tânia GuimarãesThe objective of this work is to analyze the discourse that involves the category sustainable development, especially when linked to economic growth, for this we start from the contribution of authors of critical theory, as well as other critical authors of the concept, to analyze the idea of sustainable development that consolidates itself, mainly from the 1980s, and translates into the formulation and implementation of public policies aimed at the Brazilian Amazon, marked by the ambiguity of economic growth combined with environmental conservation.Artigo de Evento Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estruturação de um planejamento estratégico para aplicação do desenvolvimento sustentável na Amazônia paraense(Universidade Regional do Cariri, 2014-11) CARVALHO, André Cutrim; SERRA, Maurício Aguiar; SILVEIRA, José Maria Ferreira Jardim da; CASTRO, Auristela CorreaThis article seeks to justify the establish ment of hypothetical growth rates of the economy of the State of Pará, also known as the Amazon of Pará GD Pin the coming years, and the amount of investment needed tocarry out implementation of a state wide project of sustainable development.Toinsert this sustainable development project at the same time socio-economic and socio-environmental, it is necessary to break with the archaicvicious circle of poverty and the destruction of nature, substituting the virtuous circle of growth within come distribution and environmental preservation. The results obtained by the method of deterministic simulation, using theHarrod-Domarmodel, which can identify the product by deducting the economy, investment and capital stock variation, it is possible to determine the sum of consumer spendingand private investmentand public between 2007-2010, within the budget constraints of the Amazon Pará, there fore Pará economytogrow, and changeits production structure should investin economic sectorsthat have the potential to form clusters of small sustainablebasis.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Um estudo de caso a respeito da práxis da Educação Ambiental na E.M.E.I.F. "Dr. Ulysses Guimarães", Altamira/PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-10-03) RABELLO, Wendell Robério Damasceno; GODOY, Sara Gurfinkel Marques de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3676165040937391Environmental problems and social inequality have been growing at a frenetic pace, mainly as a result of the destruction of the environment and its disorderly exploitation by man. And schools can, in a way, contribute to the implementation of strategies or tools that help people understand a new mentality about preserving the environment, since the school environment in itself is characterized by the ethical and civic training of students, through awareness-raising work. In this sense, the aim of this research is to understand how Environmental Education has been worked on in the school environment at “Dr. Ulysses Guimarães” elementary school, located in the municipality of Altamira-Pa. The research methodology will be based on a bibliographical survey of official data and theories specific to Environmental Education; data collection, through the application of questionnaires directed at students, teachers and school management; analysis of the data collected. As a result of the research, an educational product entitled "Environmental Education Primer for young environmental agents" will be developed, focusing on the environmental training of students so that in the future they can play the role of collaborators and reproducers of actions for the protection of the environment, working on sensitization, environmental education, citizenship and awareness. The Educational Product was tested for five days in the Year 8 A class, and after the application period it was evaluated by four teachers so that it could be validated. The evaluation took place using a Validation Form distributed to each evaluating teacher. At the end, the Educational Product received an E (Excellent) grade and was unanimously approved. There was an increase in the interest of both students and teachers in environmental issues after the application of the educational product. It was a stimulus for both teachers and students, and both committed themselves to building other models of educational products that can help in the classroom and in the teaching-learning process.Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Gestão e política de sustentabilidade nas universidades públicas: o caso de duas Universidades Federais do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-11-18) SILVA, Keila Paiva da; BAHIA, Mirleide Chaar; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6052323981745384; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7168-2019This thesis developed an analysis of sustainability management and policies in Federal Public Universities, whose main objective was to analyze how the management of federal universities in the Amazon region (UFPA and UFRA) are implementing sustainability policies on their campuses, based on the perception of the academic community (students, servers and managers). In theoretical-methodological terms, this study was based on the theoretical bases of interdisciplinarity, covering concepts from theoreticians of Sustainability, Public Policies, Public Management, Budget Resources, among others. Qualitative in nature, this research was carried out based on exploratory studies, through a combination of bibliographic survey, document analysis and field research, with interviews and directive questionnaires. For data analysis, we used the content analysis technique based on Bardin (2006). Through exploratory studies, it was possible to observe that sustainability policies are being implemented in the universities surveyed, in a gradual way, due to several factors such as the lack of specific public resources for socio environmental actions, economic policy of resources constraints for education, deficiency in the dissemination of the PLS and lack of educational actions.Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Impactos socioambientais da implantação de grandes projetos na Amazônia: uma análise da percepção ambiental no município de Barcarena (Pará, Brasil)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-06-28) ALMEIDA, Raimundo da Costa; SILVA, Christian Nunes da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4284396736118279; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7753-5394The present project proposes to carry out a study of environmental perception on the large mining enterprises in the Municipality of Barcarena, in the State of Pará. The study will be carried out based on the hierarchy of needs proposed by Abraham Maslow (2014), sustainable development variables and large mining projects in the Amazon. The research will seek to answer the following question: How does the implementation of large projects in the Amazon affect the environmental perception of the population of the municipality of Barcarena (Pará, Brazil), considering the socio-environmental impacts resulting from these projects? The main hypothesis for this question considers that: the implementation of large projects in the Amazon has caused significant socio-environmental impacts in the municipality of Barcarena (Pará, Brazil), which affect the environmental perception of the local population. And it will have as its general objective: To understand, from the perception of society in the Municipality of Barcarena, how the variables of sustainable development (social, economic, spatial, environmental, cultural and political) are impacted by large mining projects in the Amazon. The specific objectives will be: to examine whether political leaders, representatives of organized civil society and the population of the Municipality of Barcarena, through their perceptions, relate the negative externalities that impact the Municipality to large mining enterprises; assess whether large mining projects are implemented in a Top Down manner; and analyze, based on official data, how mining projects in the municipality of Barcarena have impacted on sustainable development. The product generated by the research will be a manual for claiming, monitoring and controlling the implementation of mitigation measures for large projects in the Amazon. The survey will be carried out with the application of online questionnaires to the population and in person to a sample of the target audience of the online survey, with the aim of carrying out the reambulation of the online survey. A social cartographic survey will also be carried out, with the traditional population impacted by mining projects.Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Metodologia de análise de risco de investimento em projetos de eficiência energética com aplicação no aproveitamento da biomassa residual do dendê na Amazônia(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-02-10) OLIVEIRA, Rosana Cavalcante de; TOSTES, Maria Emília de Lima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4197618044519148The promotion of renewable energies in search of strategies to mitigate climate change is a major global challenge, especially for developing countries like Brazil looking to diversify its energy mix from renewable sources, but has an investment cost constraints. In this context, we need tools that measure the risks of investing in alternative energy sources projects. This work contributes to the sustainable development of the Amazon through the development of a risk analysis methodology of investment in energy efficiency projects applied the use of biomass from palm oil. The increasing production of palm oil in the Amazon region to generate food and biodiesel is generating a large volume of biomass. It was found that the use of the residue of the oil palm biomass for power generation and trading in the market increases its economic value, for both identified the criteria and indicators (C & I) of sustainable palm oil chain grouping them into: economic , environmental, social and technical. Qualifying and quantifying the risks affecting the identified indicators. This procedure was analyzed in three future scenarios for economic growth in Brazil that were built in the scenarios marked present in the National Energy Plan 2030.Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Metodologia para avaliação do grau de sustentabilidade utilizando a lógica fuzzy: aplicação na indústria madeireira(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-05) LEAL, Maria de Fatima Mendes; MONTENEGRO, André Augusto Azevedo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1135221873341973; MANESCHY, Carlos Edilson de Almeida; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3638082762153871The economic needs of industries as well as the necessity of preservation of the environment require a development of its activities in a way that is environmentally responsible and, consequently, with the proper use of natural resources. The economy of the state of Pará is based on agriculture, livestock and vegetable and mineral extraction being the last one represented, mainly by wood. Certainly, it will contribute to the sustainable use of forest resources, an assessment that quantifies the subsystems environmental, economic and social, that are the basis of sustainability. Studying the segment of improvement and exportation of wood it was used fuzzy logic in a proposed methodology for determining the degree of sustainability that, in this study, may vary on a scale from 0 to 10, quantifying not only the condition of sustainability itself, but also indicating which subsystems or components need to be improved. The determination of public policy for the forestry sector can be performed using the same methodology, since that the necessary legal adjustments are made.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Miriti: o Açaí do Inverno? extrativismo, comercialização e consumo de frutos de Mauritia flexuosa L.f. no Estuário Amazônico(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016) SOUSA, Fagner Freires de; Silva, Camila Vieira da; BARROS, Flávio Bezerra; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4706140805254262; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6155-0511To analyze the potential of miriti fruit extraction to riverine social reproduction and front biodiversity conservation to "açaização" of family production units (UPFs) the Amazon estuary, we undertook field research with 22 riverine families in Sirituba island Abaetetuba - PA, where the miriti extraction is still recurring. In search of driving used the case study as a methodological strategy, using the participant observation, application of semi-structured questionnaires, non-directive interviews and daily production during the 2015 harvest season (January-May), which made it possible to apprehend the practices used in this system, the social division of labor, the formation of marketing channels and the use of miriti in the daily diet. In order to know the eating of the fruit uses in Abaetetuba, we conducted interviews with mingauleiros of miriti and participant observation in the food court of the last two editions of Miriti Fest. The results revealed a vast knowledge on the part of riverine on miriti and the existence of a relationship of reciprocity between men and palm trees, which point to the conservation of the species. In the production aspect, we found the intense family participation in work with miriti which is held collectively, providing opportunities for the intergenerational exchange of knowledge, which favors the strengthening of tradition about the extraction of the palm. The economic potential of the activity was also evident, with strong demand for the fruit and its derivatives in Abaetetuba, the main market accessed by Sirituba extractive, are commercialized about 125 t. per month, short marketing circuits highlighting (for sale at the fair and on demand), which make possible an average monthly income above the minimum wage and average revenue per crop similar to the açai extraction. The food uses of fruit were recorded both in the rural context, which includes all meals significantly contribute to food security and sovereignty, as in the urban context, where it is consumed on a day-to- day, mostly in the form of porridge and reinterpreted makes if “party food” during Miriti Fest. Thus, we conclude that the miriti extraction is a traditional productive activity with the potential to ensure the riverine reproduction during the açai off season and contribute to biodiversity conservation if done sustainably. We add also the need for investments in public policies to encourage this practice and to strengthen the productive chain of miriti.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Modelo de gestão de resíduos sólidos por meio da economia circular: uma proposta para os supermercados da Região metropolitana de Belém-Pará.(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-07-17) DANTAS, Werllem Valente Rodrigues; CARMO, Annibal José Roris Rodriguez Scavarda do Carmo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6070280268935110; SCHIMITH, Cristiano Descovi; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7017921569470426; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2545-942XThe world's demographic growth and the change in people's standard of living have led to an increase in demand for production and consumer goods, mainly single-use products and goods with planned obsolescence. Thus, it has become necessary to search for solutions capable of changing the current economic model, represented by the “linear economy”, so that a sustainable production method can be achieved. Among the alternatives to this format, there is the circular economy, object of this research, which had as a research problem to investigate how the solid waste management of supermarkets in the metropolitan region of Belém occurs, bringing in its scope the objective of proposing, to supermarkets, a solid waste management model through the Circular Economy. This research, based on a literature review, built a theoretical framework on the Circular Economy, which served as the basis for the elaboration of the data collection instrument and, later, the collected data and the framework were used to build the model of solid waste management. The research revealed that supermarkets carry out sustainable actions, but that they are isolated practices. As a solution, this research presents the solid waste management model for supermarkets to implement the Circular Economy.Artigo de Evento Acesso aberto (Open Access) Planejamento estratégico para o desenvolvimento sustentável na economia do Pará(Universidade da Amazônia, 2013-11) CARVALHO, André Cutrim; CARVALHO, David Ferreira; CARVALHO, Renata Baleixo da Silva CutrimThis article seeks to justify the establishment of the hypothetical rates of GDP growth in the economy of the state of Pará for the next year and the amount of investment required to carry out implementation of the project state of sustainable development. To insert this sustainable development project, at the same time socio-economic and socio environmental, it is necessary to break with the archaic vicious circle of poverty and the destruction of nature, replacing it with the virtuous circle of growth with income distribution and environmental preservation. The results obtained by the method of using the deterministic simulation model Harrod-Domar able to identify that deducting the product of the economy, investment and capital stock variation, it is possible to determine the sum of consumer spending and private and public investment between 2007 -2010, within the budget constraints of the state of Pará. The main conclusion is that the economy of Pará to grow and change their production structure should invest in economic sectors that have the potential to form Local Production of sustainable basis.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Serviços ecossistêmicos por sistemas agroflorestais na Amazônia: uma análise bibliométrica(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-06-28) CONCEIÇÃO, Thayná Karina da Silva; VASCONCELOS, Steel Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0719395243841543; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2364-8822Over the last few decades, ecological concepts and evolutionary biological theory have influenced proposals in the environmental movement. In this context, AFS agroforestry systems gain notoriety as an agroecological alternative, due to their socioeconomic benefits and the generation of ecosystem services. Following this reasoning, the objective of this study was to measure in qualitative values the contribution of SAFs to the nature of these services with a focus on sustainability, and on other benefits, also aligned with the broader socioeconomic context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), of the 2030 agenda of the United Nations Organizations (UN). The studies aimed to qualitatively analyze aspects in which the SAFs were inserted. From the bibliographical survey with the use of research terms in the Web of Science database, then the curation of these data was carried out, presenting bibliometric metrics, such as maps, graphs and tables. With a total of 409 publications, and taking into account region and topic criteria, we reached a reduced number of articles of 134. These results show that interest in research in the agroforestry field has improved, but in a gradual and heterogeneous way. The most frequent ecosystem services were Support and Provision. This study can increase opportunities for future research, and suggest a qualitative analysis of the benefits of AFS that can contribute to generating ecosystem services in the Brazilian Amazon.
