Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Antes a gente tinha um rio, agora a gente tem um lago: a construção do território ribeirinho às margens do reservatório do CHE Belo Monte(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-03-27) GRAÇA, Denise da Silva; SANTOS, Sônia Maria Simões Barbosa Magalhães; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2136454393021407The construction of hydroelectric power plants causes a process of deterritorialization and reterritorialization of traditional communities. This work aims to analyse the construction of the riverside territory, i.e., the ways used to reconstruct living in a destroying environment, post-installation of CHE Belo Monte. Therefore, a case study was carried out in the locality of Palhal, on the banks of the main reservoir, in the municipality of Altamira, in Pará, using participant observation and interviews. Riverside families have been through a violent process of compulsory displacement, full of human rights violations. Thus, the families were looking for ways to denounce and to recover the traditional way of life and that starts a movement which culminated in the creation of the riverside territory. The beginning of construction of the new territory has been marked, mainly, by the new attribution of meanings to the space; by the updates of traditional knowledge to appropriate the new environment; by the for the reconstruction of parentage networks and reciprocity; and by the use of moral values to regulate access to the scarce natural resources.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) As Cadeias de valor alimentar inclusivas e sustentáveis do açaí e do peixe: o caso de Abaetetuba, PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-01-15) SALGADO, Mayany Soares; SANTANA, Antônio Cordeiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2532279040491194; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4324-9178The inclusive and sustainable food value chains of assai and fish are activities that generate income, employment, foreign exchange, with exports to Brazilian and international markets, as well as being fundamental to supplying the local market and preserving the natural stocks of assai trees in floodplains and fish in regional rivers in the territory of influence of the city of Abaetetuba. Due to the importance of these products in functional food, demand has been growing faster than supply, causing pressure on the stocks of these natural assets and generating environmental externalities in all links of these chains. In this context, the general objective of the thesis was to analyze the configuration of the assai fruit and fish value chains and the interaction between extractivism and the consumer market, taking into account the agents that act and define the peasant territoriality of the municipality of Abaetetuba. The methodology includes descriptive and interpretive analyses of the literature review and of the primary and secondary data collected. The field research, for the collection of primary data, contemplated the qualitative approach, with the use of the in-depth interview technique, aiming to capture the dynamics of the riverside peasants in their survival, based on the exploitation of natural resource stocks, and the quantitative approach, from the application of questionnaires, for the analysis of market information, via specification of consumer demands for assai and fish. The representative sample included 342 interviewees, with a confidence level of 95% and a sampling error of 5.4%. The results showed the lack of commitment of the agents that operate in the processing and marketing links of the products with the preservation of the floodplain in Abaetetetubense, due to their lack of knowledge and experience of the dynamics and preservation needs of the natural ecosystems of the floodplains, and because they only aim at short-term economic results. Consumers of fish and assai extractivism on the islands of Abaetetuba are willing to pay R$ 58.20 and R$ 98.74 per family per month to maintain the preservation of natural stocks of assai and fish, in order to ensure market supply and provide families with a healthy food consumption pattern of 43.12 l of assai and 30.27 kg of fish, respectively. It is concluded that the riverside territoriality, composed of peasants and local intermediaries, showed a high conception of the importance of the environment, related to its existence in the floodplain, from the practice of fishing and assai extraction carried out with the use of techniques of sustainable bases and by the family unit, which provided greater scope for the inclusion of this link in the chain. The main contribution of this thesis was to show the interconnected configuration of the economic, social and environmental dimensions of the assai and fish chains, from significant results, to potentiate local development, from the stimulation of social organization and vertical integration of the production of riverside peasants with the agroindustry of functional foods in the territory of Abaetetuba.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Guitarra e tambor: territorialidade e expressões do carimbó em Belém-PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-03-01) BENITEZ, Bruno Daniel das Neves; TAVARES, Maria Goretti da Costa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7796891525258446This paper seeks to discuss how Carimbó's territoriality is manifested today in the city of Belém-PA, addressing its areas of activity, the influence of the urban environment and the production of symbols, which characterize this musical rhythm as an integral element of the regional and as cultural heritage. The focus of the research is to discuss the processes and ways in which Carimbó expresses its territoriality in Belém, analyzing how the symbolic content of this culture contributes to the formation of a regional identity, expressed in places where the Carimbó is present in the city. We will also address the relationship with the urban environment, the different uses of Carimbó, external influences and the process of patrimonialization of the rhythm. The research used the following methodological procedures: a) bibliographic review of themes related to popular culture, cultural geography and urban geography, seeking to discuss the presence of popular culture in the urban environment and its forms of action; b) bibliographic review of concepts and themes such as territory, territoriality, cultural identity, cultural heritage and symbolic production; c) bibliographical and documentary review related to Carimbó; d) Semi-structured interviews that took place during the fieldwork, carried out with the following agents selected for the research: musicians, dancers, luthiers, spectators and entrepreneurs who use Carimbó f) field observation and photographic record of Carimbó's locations in Belém and events related to this cultural event; g) analysis and systematization of the information and results obtained and writing of the dissertation. As a result, we realize that Carimbó in Belém today manifests a mobile territoriality, supported by the performance of cultural spaces and collective groups that work directly with popular culture. Contexts such as the reframing of regional music that occurred in the 1990s in Belém, and the process of patrimonialization of Carimbó contributed to the current scenario of appreciation of Carimbó in Belém, focus of this researchItem Acesso aberto (Open Access) Na “beira” do cais, o centro englobador em risco: perspectivas e possibilidade de reordenamento da orla de Abaetetuba/PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-05-30) SILVA, Dalgisa da Conceição Araújo da; SOUZA, Alexandre Augusto Cals e; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2652815221358066; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1424-5055This work proposes to analyze the process of transformation that has been developing along the urban riverfront of the municipality of Abaetetuba/PA, occupations in the Amazonian landscape, in areas protected by the course of tides and riparian forests in areas that should be protected. These occupations constitute areas of vulnerability, where the risks are present in the houses built in areas of water courses, in areas of erosive soil, in a caused way and without protection infrastructure, a fact that culminated in a disaster that occurred in 2014 in the São João neighborhood: a landfill collapse destroyed 13 (thirteen) houses and, as a result, 51 (fifty one) families were supported by the disaster. In a similar way, this occupation process also affected other areas of the riverside, mainly the commercial side, which I call here the encompassing center, as it is a historic neighborhood with economic and cultural potential, where one of the largest open-air fairs in the region. I followed this accident while working at the Municipal Civil Defense Coordination, and I was able to see firsthand the suffering of people who had losses of all kinds, and who were no longer able to return to their homes. This fact motivated me to question how to rearrange risk areas in already consolidated urban spaces, in order to prevent new disasters from occurring. The risk scenario takes place in Abaetetuba, in areas of different land uses and occupations, areas of social vulnerability, environmental protection, commercial flow, concentration of urban equipment and an area of historical memory. In this way, I analyze the process of transformation of the riverside neighborhoods of Abaetetuba as the formation of risk areas for the development of a proposal and planning that considers the risks and vulnerabilities present in these territories. Based on the research results, it was found that, despite the history of disasters in these places, the existing urban structure and the lack of a risk management plan that protects the riverfront contributed to the risk scenario that is presented. In this way, it is necessary to take into account the possibilities of public intervention based on improvements in existing planning instruments and the elaboration of new ones, which include the diagnosis of the areas, monitoring and a differentiated treatment for the risk areas in which the population participates. of the process. The research was carried out through data collection and application of semi-structured questionnaires with public sector agents and civil society to enable a more efficient planning proposal. The research was conceived in a multidisciplinary analysis in which contributions from municipal plans and scholars from the areas of geography, environment, social sciences and urban policy are articulated.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Territorialidad y representación del patronato rural paraense (1965-2016)(Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, 2020-12-04) SILVA JÚNIOR, Aluísio Fernandes da; GUERRA, Gutemberg Armando Diniz; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4262726973211880; HOSCMAN, Luiz DanielThe main objective of this thesis is to develop a study on economic activities considered commodities spatialized in different mesoregions of Pará, Brazil, from 1965 to 2016. Despite advances in public policy on the environment and territorial planning, implemented based on guaranteeing the constitutional right to quilombo remnants, with the State of Pará preceding all others in recognizing the first quilombo in Brazil, in 1995, the study observed the decrease in the issuance of titles after the approval of the ecological-economic zoning for oil palm, starting in 2010. The theoretical framework of the research was outlined based on the literature on territorial management, quilombos territory and territoriality, territorial planning and conflicts environmental. Methodologically, the work followed a case study, as a strategy to understand questions of “how” and “why” the contemporary social phenomenon under study develops. The lengthy titling process is part of the context of the specific case analyzed, with the exposure of the problems faced by the quilombos community, located on the banks of the Acará River, on the border of the municipalities of Acará and Thailand, in the search for recognition and titling of the area in question. Dispute with palm oil company, which exemplifies the perennial conflicts in the Amazon between environmental public policies and economic development.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Territorialidade e representação do patronato rural paraense(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2008) SILVA JÚNIOR, Aluisio Fernandes da; GUERRA, Gutemberg Armando Diniz; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4262726973211880The research refers to the study of rural ownership in the state of Pará. It aims to understand the complexity of territorial and representational social category through a descriptive approach. It has been mandatory the elaboration of a chapter didactically distributed regarding the development of the research proposing the debate of the course taken in Rural Ownership Organization in the state of Pará and the most representative ones in the country. Following, it has studied the Agriculture and Agrarian Federation of State of Pará - FAEPA. The crucial object of research and main source of data and information; the composition of their directories and its regionalization through Nucleus and Unions essential to approach the territoriality present in the agrarian dynamics, as well as the representation of ownership in the State. The study has shown a shifting in the shepherding activity throughout the years in the state – through cartography representation – observing a sharp increase in number of Unions associating to the Federation in the past years, the strategy of use and domain of territory through organization and ownership events and the complex web of relations present in the daily habits of rural ownership that is essential to characterize and establish a social profile of Pará's ownership and its several representations linked to the Agriculture and Agrarian Federation of the State of Pará - FAEPA. Therefore, it demonstrates with this study some projection towards the dynamics in ownership organization through investment directed to the agribusiness and trade among these organizations.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Território em transformação: conflitos na pesca artesanal – Araguari, Porto Grande, Amapá, Amazônia(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-03-25) LIMA, Laís Melo; PAULA, Cristiano Quaresma de; SILVA, Christian Nunes da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4284396736118279The main objective of this study is to discuss the factors that contributed to the changes in the territoriality of artisanal fishermen on the Araguari-Amapá River. Located in the middle of the basin, artisanal fishermen from Porto Grande are part of the group affected by the hydroelectric projects installed in the last decade. With the installation, artisanal fishermen from Araguari started to report changes in the fisheries' reproduction cycle, and consequently loss of fishing territoriality and fishing areas – occurring greater pressure on new areas and insecurity of trafficability in previously used fishing grounds. With the new use, they begin to report the occurrence of conflicts and disputes over the resource. In this way, we resort to the panorama of policies implemented over the Amazonian space to understand the strategies of use and appropriation conferred at different times by different agents, as well as the respective resistances of the fishing activity.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Território, territorialidade e fronteira: o problema dos limites municipais e seus desdobramentos em Belém/PA(Programa de Pós-Graduação em Gestão Urbana/ Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná, 2017-04) SILVA, Marlon Lima da; TOURINHO, Helena Lúcia ZaguryThis paper discusses the problem of city limits of Belém to the concepts of territory and territoriality border. It shows that inaccuracies and inadequacies in the laws establishing the border limits of Belém with other cities have resulted in conflicts of maps, public management, beyond the division of occupations/housing, causing several problems to cities managers, and especially to residents of conflicting areas. By analyzing studies conducted by public authorities with the aim of redefining the limits, we reveal that such studies are incomplete and fail not to consider aspects concerning territoriality of the groups involved in the issue. Assuming that the definition of boundaries is much more than a matter of mapping technique, although this is important, argues that the proposition of new municipal limits should consider the concepts of territory and territoriality and border present the methodology developed by the paper’s authors whom are technicians of the City Development Company of Belém.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Territórios e territorialidades de comunidades extrativistas na dinâmica de apropriação e uso do patrimônio natural no interior e entorno do parque ambiental de Mosqueiro-PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-03-23) DINIZ, Francisco Perpetuo Santos; TAVARES, Maria Goretti da Costa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7796891525258446This is a research that analyzes the territorial control strategies by different subjects involved in the dynamics of the formation of territories and territorialities of the natural heritage in the context of the interior and surroundings of the Municipal Environmental Park of Mosqueiro. The relevance of this research lies in the fact that it constitutes a subaltern thesis as a result of the literature on the subject being mostly focused on the problematization of cultural heritage, as it is the first thesis on natural heritage that deals with the contexts of traditional populations in Amazonia and for presenting a dissonant discussion of official and hegemonic perspectives in technical and academic circles. This research was supported by the spatial dialectic of destructive construction by considering socio-spatial conflicts and contradictions that involve the appropriation and use of natural heritage. It has a qualitative character, involved bibliographical, documentary and exploratory research with the accomplishment of field work with monitoring of cultural practices and nature management in the Extractive Communities Caruarú, Tucumandeu and Tamanduá, Pratiquara and Rio Murubira localities. Data were analyzed using discourse and content analysis techniques. The research problem was supported by the understanding of tensions, conflicts and socio-spatial practices that resulted from the institutionalization of the Mosqueiro Environmental Park. The central question of the research revolved around the understanding of how islanders appropriated and used the natural heritage mediated by the promotion of territories and territorialities. The guiding questions asked which agents were involved in the appropriation and use of natural heritage within and around the Park and how did they exercise territorial control? What were the territorialities that were configured in natural heritage control practices and how were they related and conflicted? How did the appropriation of nature occur in the extractive communities and localities of Mosqueiro and how were they configured in alternative strategies for the possession of natural heritage in a utopian and territorial perspective? The general objective sought to analyze the dynamics of appropriation and use of nature in the non-urbanized part of Mosqueiro (Parque), which was configured as a process and formation of territories and territorialities of natural heritage. The specific objectives intended to identify and map which agents were involved in the appropriation and use of natural heritage inside and around the Park and analyzing how they exercised territorial control; Identify and discuss which territorialities were configured in natural heritage control practices and how they related and conflicted. To verify and analyze the appropriation and use of nature in the extractive communities and localities of Mosqueiro and how they were configured in alternative strategies of possession of the natural heritage in a utopian and territorial perspective. The central thesis of the research is based on the understanding that natural heritage results from socio-spatial practices that involve the territorialization of power resulting from social, historical and spatial conditions permeated by the management of nature. Therefore, it has no innate value and does not express the gathering of natural elements dissociated from the socio-spatial whole.
