Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Progresso científico e verdade em Popper(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-08) DIAS, Elizabeth de AssisThis paper aims to show that to solve the question of the possibility of scientific progress, Popper had to introduce the idea of truth into his theory of science. This conception of progress, in terms of the notion of truth, was only outlined in the work Conjectures and Refutations (1963). The idea that the goal of science is truth does not appear in his early works. When Popper wrote his The Logic of Scientific Discovery (1934), science was defined in terms of logic-methodological rules, and not of its goals. Scientific progress was conceived based on the notions of testability and corroboration of theories, logical and methodological requirements for a theory to be considered scientific. Popper did not relate the question of scientific progress to notion of truth in this work, because when he wrote it he did not have a consistent theory of truth. It was only after Tarski had written his article on the semantic conception of truth that Popper, based on this conception of truth, could complement his thesis about the progress of science expounded in The Logic of Scientific Discovery with a theory about the content of truth and the approximation to the truth.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Rousseau Misantropo(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-06-24) CORÔA, Pedro Paulo da CostaThe purpose of this article is to show how Rousseau, in his Letter to D’Alembert, takes up the classic debate between theatre and morals on the same grounds established by Plato. In Rousseau’s work, the debate about theatre has an objectivity that we do not find in D’Alembert’s article. Therefore, what is involved is not a difference of opinion between Rousseau and D’Alembert, but a difference in the philosophical ability to fully understand what concerns both theatre and morality.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Fisiopsicologia e naturalização do conhecimento em Nietzsche(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-06) BARROS, Roberto de Almeida Pereira deNietzsche's reflection about knowledge is inseparable from the positivist context of German universities in the second half of the nineteenth century. Nietzsche assimilates from it a strong naturalistic tendency, which gives him arguments against the metaphysical-rationalist interpretation of knowledge. This article aims to analyze aspects of these assumptions with regard to his consideration of knowledge, that keeps him away from idealism to the naturalist reductionism.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Lessing, um espírito livre. Sobre o aforismo 103 de O Andarilho e sua Sombra(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-06) CHAVES, Ernani PinheiroThis article aims to analyze the aphorism 103 of The wanderer and his shadow, entitled "Lessing", in order to show the confrontation of Nietzsche with the thought of the great essayist, poet and playwright, considered the creator of modern German theater. This confrontation has as its starting point at the aphorism referred above the question of "style", which gives the opportunity to reflect about this question in Nietzsche, in this important moment of his work, turning point, as we know, especially from three other important "characters" to the discussion of this subject: Schopenhauer, Wagner and the French culture.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Crítica científica e modelos interpretativos em Nietzsche(2008) BARROS, Roberto de Almeida Pereira deFrom the denounce of the contradictory presence of dogmatic moral presuppositions in the formulation of scientific activity principles, Nietzsche conceives another notion of science compatible with the hegemonic option for knowledge, which he recognizes as present in occidental culture. This article intends to discuss on which parameters Nietzsche, in the intermediary period of his philosophical production, proposes his interpretation of occidental science and formulates a demystifying critique of it.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Mito e política: notas sobre o conceito de destino no "jovem" Benjamin(1994-01) CHAVES, Ernani PinheiroThe concept of myth is one of the keys to understand the thought of Walter Benjamin. The aim of this paper is to follow its genesis from the first formulations of the concept of "destiny", as presented in Destiny and character, written in 1919. The present paper is divided in two parts. The first reconstructs Benjamin's arguments, showing them tobe within the domain of the theory of rights and their necessary insertion in a "temporality" mode, defined by "repetition"; the second part attempts to demonstrate that Benjamin's positions were closely linked to a political stand: their aim was, in name of an avowed anarchism, to fight against all nationalist "myths" (that brought Germany to war) and the need of "leaders" (Führer) for the people. Examples of this political bias, based on Benjamin's confrontation with Zionism, are presented.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Considerações sobre o ator: uma introdução ao projeto nietzschiano da fisiologia da arte(2007) CHAVES, Ernani PinheiroTogether with the project of revaluation of all values, the schema of a "physiology of art" gains a central role in Nietzsche's last writings. That's a perspective that supposes a defeat both of the "artist's metaphysics" of the initial period and of the critique of romanticism that characterizes a second moment. Taking as a starting point the discussion about the pertinence of utilization of the term physiology in Nietzsche's work, this article intends to present, in general terms, the reaching of this project to the discussion of the relations between art and truth, art and illusion. In conclusion, the intention here is to show the importance of this idea of a physiology of art taking as a reference the figure of the actor.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O trágico, o cômico e a "distância artística": arte e conhecimento n'A Gaia Ciência, de Nietzsche(2005-12) CHAVES, Ernani PinheiroThis reading of The Gay Science intends to show some important elements which, in this book, gravitate around the theme of "distance". Analysing particularly three aphorisms of the book, our goal is to clarify the movement, in the text and in Nietzsche's thought as well, from distance as Ferne, with its romantic source, to distance as Distanz. However, in the end, we intend to show that Nietzsche dislocates the romantic theme of the Ferne, taking it as an "artistic distance", which becomes the distinctive trace between the perspectives of art and knowledge.
