| Abstract: | We analyze the biography of Kátia Tapety - the first transsexual to hold political office in Brazil - and, based on the seminal texts of Peter Fry, outline some questions about the systems of representations of sexuality in Brazil and the peculiar ways in which sexuality and gender are (or not) linked. |
