Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise da gestão de resíduos sólidos urbanos no município de Concórdia do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-04-29) BAIA, Carivaldo Antônio Macedo; MENDES, Ronaldo Lopes Rodrigues; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3384080521072847; FLORES, Maria do Socorro Almeida; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8875436559577793The problem around solid waste is common in most Brazilian urban centers, which is intensified with the lack of public management planning. Solid waste when improperly packaged has a high potential for impact on the environment, becoming a potential threat to public health and local ecosystems. In view of this, the federal government regulated the National Solid Waste Policy as a way to combat possible deficiencies in waste management, presenting in the form of legislation the guidelines and rules for proper management of solid waste, and also provides for the implementation of selective collection by municipalities. In this context, the present research sought to understand the processes related to the disposal of solid waste in Concórdia do Pará, and to propose actions that assist the municipal public power in the management of urban solid waste generated in the municipality. The methodology followed an exploratory and descriptive study model, with bibliographic survey, on-site observation, interviews with public managers and the application of a questionnaire to residents. The research showed that the municipality of Concórdia do Pará has many problems associated with the management of urban solid waste, caused mainly by the low infrastructure, which makes it impossible to meet the current demand correctly. However, the municipality has the potential for practices aimed at optimizing waste management, thus, the work suggests alternatives that can be used to manage urban solid waste in an environmentally correct manner. With the information gathered, an informative guide on the contextualization of urban solid waste generated in the municipality was prepared as the final product. This guide will be made available as teaching material in municipal schools, the city hall and the Municipal Environment Secretariat, in addition to serving as a database for the Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan in Concórdia of Pará, which is under preparation.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Animais silvestres na feira de Abaetetuba-PA: uma análise à luz da regulamentação ambiental como um instrumento de “conscientização”(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-06-30) FERREIRA, Hellen Rosalva da Silva; CONDURÚ, Marise Teles; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6085807397296909; FLORES, Maria do Socorro Almeida; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8875436559577793This work provides information on the presence of wild animals at the AbaetetubaPará Fair, proposes an analysis of environmental legal regulations, related to the meaning of the presence and exposure of these live and slaughtered animals at the fair, given their current understanding as environmental goods, as national heritage, as elements of biodiversity and as goods outside trade and environmental governance actions that involve public, municipal, state and federal agencies. The objective of this work is to offer a contribution to the effective protection of biodiversity, through a booklet with information on the preservation and sustainability of wild animals, in order to produce an instrument of "awareness". The methodology has a qualitative approach, with an analytical and exploratory character. The techniques of bibliographic and documentary research are used to survey theoreticalconceptual and normative materials. The collection of information was carried out through empirical observation and with the application of questionnaires which made it possible to map the attributions and competencies of the agencies in accordance with the environmental legislation in the protection of biodiversity and the locations of capture of the animals. As a preliminary result, the population was unaware of the illegality of the activity involving wild animals. There was a lack of public power management in the protection of wild animals, even with the existence of legislation, such practices continue to occur. As a product, a booklet was created, a work that presents mechanisms of environmental education, in order to raise awareness about the need for the preservation and sustainability of these animals and about the actions of public agencies, schools and society in general in the application of protection policies environmental.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Controle ambiental de empreendimentos hidrelétricos de pequeno porte na Amazônia: análise do licenciamento e monitoramento no estado do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-03-23) CRISTINO, Alex Ruffeil; ROCHA, Gilberto de Miranda; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2436176783315749; FLORES, Maria do Socorro Almeida; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8875436559577793The present work aims to analyze if the biotic components and standards adopted in the TR's, in order to evaluate the impacts caused by the implementation of SHPs in the state of Para, are demonstrating the compatibility of the altered environment and its capacity of recomposition to the balance of the environment. Initially, a process analysis of the small hydroelectric plants in operation in the state of Para was carried out to identify which components and standards were defined in these processes. Subsequently, research was carried out to identify the available literature (technical and legal), which indicate selected biological components and standards in the elaboration of TR's for licensing and monitoring of SHPs. In addition, standards and legal doctrines were consulted to understand the protection of biological resources in the scope of environmental licensing and monitoring in Brazil and what legal good to be protected by the environmental standard. The licensing and monitoring processes of the SHPs in operation in the state of Para did not present formal guidelines on the process of resilience of the transformed environment, which makes the environmental analysis of these SHPs impracticable, hindering the police power of the environmental agency.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Descarte inadequado de resíduos sólidos - análise de competências, riscos e possibilidades de transformação em insumos produtivos: caso na Vila de Algodoal-PA, Brasil(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-06-30) PIRES JÚNIOR, José Alberto; LOPES, Luís Otávio do Canto; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1013147545099173; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6209-9646; FLORES, Maria do Socorro Almeida; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8875436559577793; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9154-6938One of the major concerns observed today is the generation, allocation and inadequate disposal of waste and waste. The evidence that the use of fire in its territory, the consequences of which may have a significant negative impact on the municipality's cattle ranching, are the support for the choice of location. In this sense, through bibliographic research, documentary, interviews and analyzes, three main maps were constructed. The first was the Forest Fire Hazard Map, in which it was verified which areas would be most likely to suffer from forest fires. The second was the Socioeconomic Assessment Map, whose purpose was to measure the possible demographic, social, cultural, and economic impacts resulting from forest fires in the municipality. The last one was the Forest Fire Disaster Risk Map, which is the product of an algebra of the first two maps. Thus, in the actions of environmental risk management for the municipality, the mapping done will help in the decision making by the managers. Also, the way the mapping was done provides the basis for the formation of a manual that can be used by the Pará Military Fire Brigade in other municipalities.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O sistema da bioeconomia do açaí no contexto amazônico de Abaetetuba/PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-09-03) QUEIROZ, Luiz Fernando Paes de; SOBRINHO, Mário Vasconcellos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7843288526039148; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6489-219X; FLORES, Maria do Socorro Almeida; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8875436559577793; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9154-6938The concept of bioeconomy has undergone continuous transformations since its earliest mentions, expanding in scope and application. To deepen the understanding of its origins and evolution, this research approaches bioeconomy from academic, political-institutional, and Amazonian perspectives. This conceptual basis enabled the identification of the foundational elements of the Amazonian bioeconomy and, more specifically, the structure of the açaí bioeconomy. This product, essential to the diet of riverine populations, has become a global commodity, driving an economic activity that generates employment and income for thousands of families in the region. Pará is the largest açaí producer in Brazil, and the municipality of Abaetetuba, the focus of this study, holds the third-largest production in the state, establishing itself as an important hub of goods and services in the Baixo Tocantins region. However, this activity faces political-institutional, economic, social, technological, and environmental challenges involving traditional communities, government institutions, and business sectors. In this context, the primary objective of this research is to demonstrate how the açaí bioeconomy is structured within the Amazonian context of Abaetetuba/PA, proposing a systemic model with its core elements. Through a literature review, document analysis, and interviews with key actors in the production chain, it was possible to develop an analytical model in diagrams, representing both the Amazon Bioeconomy System and the Açaí Bioeconomy System. These models provide an integrated view of the interactions among their different components, allowing a systemic understanding of the challenges and opportunities involved. As a result, the analysis revealed both strengths and weaknesses of this complex system, indicating that açaí production cannot be understood in isolation or linearly but rather as part of a living system, in which multiple factors mutually influence final outcomes. Furthermore, the research highlighted the importance of public policies that encourage the formalization of the production chain, access to credit, technical assistance, and the implementation of sustainable management practices. Based on the issues identified throughout the research, contributory proposals were developed to improve governance strategies. These proposals are directly aligned with the study's findings, addressing observed demands and gaps while strengthening the articulation among the various actors, processes, and activities involved.
