Through government incentives, this artcraft production won public recognition, contributing to a national project survival started in the Imperial period, which recommended the creation of a Brazilian identity supported in the Indigenous’s image as an outstanding referent. Reflecting about the construction of identities from a material object of a popular culture, involves asking questions and reflections about concepts such as tradition, culture, identity, multiculturalism, cultural circularity, heterogeneity or hybridization. These concepts whose theoretical informations are found in the Canclini, Ginzburg, Milton Santos, Ulpiano Meneses and Marcos Areválo’s works contribute to the development of a new understanding about the identity of the people in Pará from their material culture: the traditional ceramic from Icoaraci.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Arte na TV: reflexões sobre matérias de arte em telejornais paraenses(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011) ANDRADE, Ana Paula Dias; SILVA, Joel Cardoso da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6918547599708778Art and communication, two areas of knowledge that can contribute with reflections and questions about human reality, and still need to be more approximated. Does the TV news value, encourage and give visibility to the guidelines on art, primarily the local art? In attempting to answer this and other questions, we plunged into a theoretical literature addressing issues related to language of the arts and of the television, the critic of the art and cultural journalism, raising pillars for the understanding of how the TV, as mass media, must act to make a correct the mediation of artistic information. From theoretical approach, it is observed in practice, news reports broadcasted on the TV news stations in open channels from Pará: Liberal TV (Globo) TV RBA (BAND) and TV Cultura do Pará (public broadcaster), chosen for this content analysis. In the survey, the subjects bring artistic themes, part of the contemporary scene. Collect material on distinct channels contributes to the observation of how the information of art is addressed in each one, if visibility is given to the issue, valuing it, and if there is incentive, motivation or collaboration with the formation of a public of art.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O vocabulário ornamental de Antônio José Landi: um álbum de desenhos para o Grão Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-02-09) OLIVEIRA, Domingos Sávio de Castro; SOUZA, José Afonso Medeiros; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6045766440369156The architecture of the city of Belém, in Pará, in the second half of century XVIII is marked by the works of the Italian architect Antônio José Landi responsible for the project and construction, or remodels, of buildings that mark the landscape of the city until the current days. Issues such as the various identities that cause doubts in the current society and the multiculturalism, typical in the process of cultural hybridization that is presented in the Amazon, are treated under an ethnomusicological look.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O fazer arte (são) de Guilherme Augusto dos Santos Júnior: interfaces artesanato, design e arte(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-02-28) ANTUNES, Isis de Melo Molinari; MALHEIROS, Ubiraelcio da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1918222033161849This study is a view at Craftwork as an important cultural manifestation to reflect upon the relations between converging knowledges in contemporary society: Design and Art. We discuss ethnographically the craftsmanship production of Guilherme Augusto dos Santos Junior, a contemporary artisan from Pará-Brazil, and this debate is illustrated with examples of his “art(isan) making”, which shows that the boundaries between the mentioned fields are increasingly tenuous constructions. The approach was to make interviews at his home, which is also his workplace, so we could get to know his life and creative process. The theory that sustains the research derives from Cultural Studies, because it shows greater flexibility to address the interrelations between the cultures in which the craftsman is immersed, which are, therefore, the pillars of his hybrid identity. From this theoretical support we were able to discuss his creative process, one that follows a project methodology similar t o the artist and designer, but as yet has an empirical character that continues to be discriminated at academic circles. This study has been divided into three chapters: Life story of the artisan Guilherme Augusto dos Santos Junior; Paths of Creation and Crafts, Design and Art. The conclusion points out to a break in the traditional concepts of Craftwork, calling into question the validity of the hierarchical divisions assigned to the field of Art and Design.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Desdobrando a dança imanente: imanência, organicidade e técnica na construção de uma poética cênica(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-02-28) SOUZA, Luíza Monteiro e; ALENCAR, Cesário Augusto Pimentel de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0024366223698692The present research brings in its core notes referring to the continuity of the theoretical and practical aproaches concerning the work developed by Companhia Moderno de Dança (CMD). Aiming at unwinding of the matters treated on Ana Flávia Mendes’ doctorate thesis, artistic director of the group, it has been observed, then, the poetic construction of CMD from other aspects related to the research object. The focus resides on the chaining of three keyconcepts which guide the reflexions and analysis prepared during the investigation process. This triad, composed by the notions of immanence, organicity and technique, sustained the development of experimentations with the CMD dancers in order to verify the possibilities of investigation and research in dance, whose process had as a starting point the subjectivities of the dancers intertwined in it. The conceptual interrelation between these notions was the basis for the development of artistic experimentarions based on immanence as first stimulus for the application of experimentental laboratories for practical and theoretical purposes, in order to promove an activation of different states of the body, given the implications of these corporal states with the results raised in the process.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Helena Nobre: uma musicista paraense da primeira metade do século XX(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-03-01) MAIA, Gilda Helena Gomes; BARROS, Líliam Cristina da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0286644614789784Helena Couto Nobre (1888-1965) is part of the third generation Nobre Family, who, as her ancestors and siblings, had a career in music, excelling in the art of opera singing, playing, composing, and also giving private lessons. She had the opportunity to go on stage with several of her relatives, especially with her brother Ulysses Nobre – a pair of singers who today is remembered under the title Nobre Brothers. With Ulysses, Helena shared not only his career but also the stigma of leprosy: even cured, there were the consequences; even singing, they were cloistered at home on Campos Sales Street, which was baptized by the Society of Para as the Golden Cage, for keeping the Uirapurus from Para. Helena became known as the Nightingale from Para in several Brazilian cities and in Europe, through music programs broadcast by Pará Radio Club - PRC-5 – that she took part. Not yet had the career of this woman investigated, who, even with the stigma of the disease, had the courage to expose and take profession of a singer. The current tendency of the historian is to reconstruct its historical object from the representations on it. So in this sense, the following master’s research - Helena Nobre: a paraense musician in of the first half of the twentieth century – aimed to investigate the history of Helena Nobre and her musical activity, building, from the biographical method and the social representations, her intellect and musical biography. This research also sought to address the interpretive and compositional repertoire of Helena Nobre and the major artistic events that she took part, realizing her presence on the musical scene of her time. The social representations of the society of her time were taken from historical sources – oral, documentary and literature – through interviews with relatives and friends of the singer and through a systematic reviews of the literature on public and private collections of Belém, in sources such as: photos, newspapers, magazines, letters, musical scores, concert programs, scrapbooks, personal belongings, paintings, poetry, posthumous tributes. To support this research, it was sought an approach with the theoretical studies about: historical musicology, gender relations, cultural heritage and living memory. The aim is to expand the musical historiography of Pará, taking the silence that has hovered over the history of life, music education and performance of Helena Nobre.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Por onde se vê: a performance na dança na cena contemporânea(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-03-02) GOMES, Erika Silva; ALENCAR, Cesário Augusto Pimentel de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0024366223698692Instigated for the new artistic productions, especially experienced at the dance universe , I throwed myself at the challenge to research which ways these artists have been tracking, what work instruments they have been using and mostly what the ideas that make them search for transformations look like. In this direction, I choose as study object the spectacle “Por onde se vê” from the Waldete Brito Experimental Dance Company of which I am part, and for which have danced on its first version. Therefore I included myself as objetc of study too. My inquire in this resarch aims to analyze the language of the performance in this spectacle, - whose theoretical referencial is based in the thoughts of authors as Renato Cohen and Roselee Godlberg - where it had as hypothesis that the use of this language could be a track in what the construction of these unusual and instigating artistic productions is closely concerned. The text points out some contributions brought from this border art so as to extend the creative universe in the scene. The used methodology was based on a descriptive qualitative boarding, by means of the data collected during interviews standardized and structuralized with the director and the interpreters on the process of creation and the accomplishment of the four versions of the spectacle, as well as the reports of the spectators envolved into it.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Era tão bonito... conflitos de sensibilidade musical e o desaparecimento de um Cordão de Pássaro(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-03-02) LUZ, Jefferson Aloysio de Melo; BARROS, Líliam Cristina da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0286644614789784This work aims the investigation and the discussion of the conflict of musical sensibilities among different generations of residents of communities that lie between the 21 and the 23 kilometers of the PA136 road, near the municipality of Terra Alta, Pará, Brazil, as an important factor in the non-ressurection process of Cordão de Azulão. This is an ethnomusicological work of ethnographic character, in which the theme is developed from the discourses of these residents about a Cordão de Pássaro called Cordão do Azulão that used to happen in those neighborhoods, and that have disappeared forty years ago. The nature of the musical sensibility is discussed mainly from the writings of John Blacking, while the musical ethnography work is based on what Clifford Geertz calls a Dense Ethnography. The study reveals that the social, economic, religious, political, and environmental changes that occurred in the surveyed communities had directly affected its residents lifestyle, which favors that the traditional cultural values, that grant sense to musical expressions like the Cordão do Azulão, to cease to be apprehended by the new generation of residents, making this Cordão to exist only in the memory of the oldest.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) (Des)territórios da Arte contemporânea: multiterritorialidades na produção artística paraense(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-03-02) COSTA, Gil Vieira; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522This research analyzes the establishment of territorialities in the contemporary art, observing art practices developed specifically from the second half of the twentieth century. I apply the concept of multi-territoriality for contemporary art, studying how conventional and unconventional spaces are used in artistic practices analyzed. Some examples are mentioned to explain the processes of deterritorialization, reterritorialization and multiterritorialization, in contemporary art, focusing on artistic practices developed in the state of Pará.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) As transformações do panorama artístico de Belém – 1960 e as repercussões nas obras de Valdir Sarubbi e Branco de Melo(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-03-03) SANTOS, Ilton Ribeiro dos; FARIAS, Edison da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4500138216841766This research addresses the transformations occurring in the artistic panorama of the city of Belem in the 60's, to highlight both the works and the series Xumucuís Lumens, respectively of Valdir Melo Sarubbi and Branco de Melo when they were selected for XI Biennial in 1971. The objective of this research is, from this approach, categorize and analyze the processes and contradictions that occurred in the thinking of artistic subjects, in the city and the region where is located the Amazonian metropolis. Using the treadmill theoretical BERMAN (1986), BENJAMIN (1991, 1995) and CANCLINE (2003), the study demonstrates that these works had an important participation in the cultural field of visual arts, specifically in Belem, and, by extension, contribute to the understanding of the impact of modern artistic production in Latin America.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A estética da media art: as obras de Christa Sommerer e Laurent Mignonneau(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-03-04) RABELLO, Rafaelle Ribeiro; SAMPAIO, Valzeli Figueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6142863342585522The theoretical trends and creation activities intended to somehow walk sideby- side with the discoveries and tecno-scientific developments. The contemporary scientific and technological thoughts wide and transform material basis and the aesthetics's production mode potentials. Such transformations can be observed in the Media Art field, an attributive manifestation to the contemporary context, which the main artistic investigations are focused on Computational Art, Tele-presence Art, Iimmersion, Virtual Reality, Transgenic Art and Genetic Art. Therefore, this master thesis has the objective to investigate the Aesthetic Theories which emerge from the Media Art context and have foundations on the idea of interactivity and interface, such as the Christa Sommerer's and Laurent Mignonneau's aesthetic results idealized based on the scientific, technological and artistics' thoughts. Broadly, the notion of the “Art as a live system” is adopted in order to comprehend the interative process as a set of chained elements, subject to constant intervection.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Trânsitos (in) visíveis diálogos na arte contemporânea paraense(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-03-10) COUSTON JUNIOR, John Fletcher; SOUZA, José Afonso Medeiros; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6045766440369156The following research aims to propose a critical and theoretical reflection towards examples of contemporary art exposed in exhibitions and museums in the city of Belém, Pará. This visual guide map will make possible a comprehension look related to the anthropological signals that art has in a fluid, hybrid and interconnected world. So in this sense, the discussion will be guided by the concept of Dialogism proposed by Mikhail Bakhtin and his research group on a way that it can also be renewed to our context through intersemiotics and intertextuality operations. The mentioned operations, on a philosophical and conceptual relation, will try to provide a route to understand the cultural processes of the contemporary societies. Associated to the discussion there is the role that the cultural processes perform on the Latin America societies, not intending to pave a uniform and continuous path, but a rizomatic net of appropriations, ephemerons loyalties and visual concepts.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Ritual em Artaud: considerações e reconsiderações por uma poética da crueldade(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-03-18) SILVA, Edson Fernando Santos da; ALENCAR, Cesário Augusto Pimentel de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0024366223698692This dissertation analyses the propositions of French visionary Antonin Artaud, concerning his thoughts and accomplishments of ritual theatre in close connection with his lifetime. In this sense, Artaud is categorized as a liminal figure, insofar as he takes out, from his own life, relevant elements which justify the re-sacralization of the stage. From the etymological definition of „rite‟, this research allocates Artaud´s theatrical project the realm of religious rites, into which some of his concepts such as Double, Cruelty, Metaphysical, Magic and Sacred will be revealed. Also, the formula „pnp equals i in the pc context‟, applied during theatrical experimental montage of Quando a música terminar…, points out boundaries and possibilities of accomplishing ritual theatre as a liminoid activity.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A gambiarra na cena: uma poética de iluminação para ativação de obras de arte em Belém do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-03-18) SOUZA, Iara Regina da Silva; LIMA, Wladilene de Sousa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4769018199137074; MANESCHY, Orlando Franco; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6198572031091761The object of this research is the reflection about the appropriation of the gambiarra lights to the scene exhibition.
