Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A Análise da implementação do teletrabalho nas instituições federais de ensino superior do estado do Pará sob a perspectiva da Teoria da Estruturação Adaptativa(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-08-01) BRAGA, Ana Claudia Melo; SCHIMITH, Cristiano Descovi; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7017921569470426; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2545-942XTelework is a type of work carried out at a distance, allowing employees to perform their activities outside the organization's headquarters. This model, considered innovative in the public service, uses Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to improve administrative processes and increase bureaucratic flexibility, generating better results. In addition, the Theory of Adaptive Structuring (ASD) explains the implementation and use of Information Systems as a social construction by the technological appropriation of the members of the organization. Thus, the objective of this research is to analyze the implementation of telework in the servers of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Pará (IFPA) and the Federal University of South and Southeast of Pará (UNIFESSPA) from the perspective of ASD. The research is of an applied nature, with exploratory purposes, and uses a qualitative and quantitative approach of descriptive character, with a survey as a strategy. The non-probabilistic convenience sample used Multiple Regression analysis to interpret the data. The results show that the variables Communication, Technological Infrastructure, Autonomy, Organizational Adaptation and Impact on Quality of Life influence the implementation of telework, and the most interesting thing is that what is significant for one institution was not for the other. In addition, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used to verify whether the respondents' profile influences the results. The insights gained are crucial for other institutions considering adopting telecommuting, providing an evidence-based guide to a successful transition. In addition to the practical and empirical impact, this research is also of great relevance in the academic context, as it contributes to the advancement of knowledge about the adaptation and use of technologies in the public sector. The analysis from the perspective of ASD offers a new perspective to understand how different factors interact in the organizational context, which can serve as a basis for future studies and academic debates on the implementation of technological innovations in public and private organizations.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Análise da relação entre qualidade de vida no trabalho, comprometimento organizacional e a intenção de permanecer na organização a partir da percepção dos servidores de uma instituição de ensino superior pública(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-03-28) CARDOSO, Lídia Maria Begot Bento; MARTINS, Harley dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3094067019584624The multidimensional needs of employees can directly impact their choice to stay or leave the organization they are a part of; therefore, investing in quality of work life has become an advantageous strategy to improve working conditions, retain employees, and foster the expected organizational performance. The present study aimed to analyze the perception of employees in a public higher education institution (HEI) regarding "Quality of Work Life" (QWL) and its relationship with "Intention to Stay in the Organization" (IS), with this relationship mediated by "Organizational Commitment" (OC). A theoretical study was carried out on the selected constructs, with the creation of research hypotheses. Methodologically, the research has a descriptive and quantitative approach, with path analysis through structural equation modeling. Data were obtained from a questionnaire composed of 45 items, with 148 respondents. The results confirmed only 4 out of 15 formulated hypotheses, namely that only the QWL dimensions of "Training and Development" and "Job Satisfaction" demonstrated significant value in predicting the intention to stay, with the mediation of organizational commitment in the relationship also confirmed. Thus, it is concluded that employees who perceive quality of life in the work environment are more likely to stay in the organization, which can positively affect organizational performance. This study contributes academically to the Brazilian literature that has a shortage of investigations of these variables through structural equation modeling, and practically to strategic management by highlighting the importance of quality of work life and organizational commitment in talent retention. The main limitations of this study include the use of a convenience sample and a low response rate.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Barreiras no uso dos serviços do governo eletrônico do Brasil por idosos à luz da Teoria da Resistência à Inovação(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-08-28) ALBERNAZ, Suellen Patrícia Silvestre Ribeiro; POLETO, Thiago; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2623462990819090; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7100-2319Electronic government (e-Gov) uses digital technologies to modernize and optimize public services, promoting greater transparency and accessibility. However, there are gaps in understanding the factors that affect the intention to continue using these services, particularly among elderly users. The objective of this research is to analyze how image barriers, tradition barriers, digital skills, and the quality of internet access contribute to the resistance of elderly users to the continuous use of Brazilian government services. To test and validate the proposed conceptual model, structural equation modeling was used with data from questionnaires of 426 respondents. The research results reveal effects among the evaluated constructs, with the two barriers highlighted by the Innovation Resistance Theory, tradition and image, demonstrating statistical significance. Additionally, the quality of internet access and digital skills also emerge as factors that predict the intention to continue using the services. The application of this model showed that Image Barriers, Tradition Barriers, and Digital Skills explain 47.8% of the variance in the respondents' Intention to Continue Using (ICU). Therefore, this study advances the discussion on technology acceptance in Brazilian e-Gov services.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Cultura organizacional, compartilhamento do conhecimento, habilidades profissionais e seus efeitos no desempenho organizacional em uma IFES(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-03-28) NOGUEIRA, Nathalia Maciel; MARTINS, Harley dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3094067019584624; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1400-0939This study started from a literature review to examine the relationship between Organizational Culture, Tacit and Explicit Knowledge Sharing, and Professional Soft Skills and Hard Skills, investigating their impacts on Organizational Performance, proposing a conceptual model that evidences the relationship that was empirically tested in a federal institution of public higher education of reference, using the path analysis model. The analysis validated the hypotheses formulated and demonstrated that tacit knowledge sharing has a partial mediating effect on the relationship between organizational culture and performance. This study will contribute theoretically with a little-explored approach on the connection between knowledge sharing and professional skills, with a proposition of the concept of skill, and with the strengthening of the approach to building a culture of knowledge sharing in organizations. Its managerial implications, on the other hand, consist of management's investment in knowledge-sharing strategies and practices for the success of organizational performance.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Dimensionamento da força de trabalho em organizações públicas: incorporando competências ao modelo(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-04-24) ROCHA, Thiago Almeida da; RAMOS, Camila Carvalho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4681656913940932This study aims to present a Workforce Dimensioning (WD) method that allows Brazilian public organizations to identify and integrate the professional profile based on competences into their WD processes. The research involved collecting data related to the work routine of 111 units of a public institution of the Brazilian judiciary system, such as productivity, quantity and duration. The results indicated the professional profile required by each of the 111 participating units and pointed out a deficit of 98 civil servants. Based on this, the applied methodology can indicate to the researched institution, in a technical way, how to raise and attract the appropriate number of personnel based on the profile of necessary servants. It is expected that this approach can help the studied organization to achieve a more efficient management of its workforce and, consequently, improve its personnel practices.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O efeito do status do consumo sustentável no engajamento e no boca a boca na categoria de consumo moderado pelo tipo de comunicação no ambiente online(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2025-02-07) CARDOSO, Diego Tavares; ARRUDA FILHO, Emilio Jose Montero; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9895428179606886; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1574-8332The status of sustainable consumption has emerged as a differentiation capable of generating demand for environmentally friendly products, which is why several studies have dedicated themselves to better understanding this positioning phenomenon in the context of sustainable consumption. Thus, this research sought to understand the effects of this status of sustainable consumption on engagement and, consequently, on word of mouth when moderated by the type of communication in the virtual environment (rational x emotional). To this end, three quantitative studies were developed, in which statistical techniques were applied using SPSS 23 and PROCESS 4.3 software to analyze the data obtained and achieve a greater understanding of the phenomenon studied. Among the findings of this research, the moderating effect of emotional communication on the relationship between status and engagement stands out, in addition to status with word of mouth. Furthermore, we identified that engagement acts as a mediator in the relationship between status and word of mouth. This study makes significant contributions to the literature and to marketers, offering insights into the most effective type of communication for sustainable products with high or low status appeal, as well as suggesting directions for future research. The literature highlights the adoption and use of digital competence for the development of educational services in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), but it's still necessary to understand its influence on the innovative behavior of the public official. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of digital competence, based on the predictors’ infrastructure, integration, and digital management, on innovative work behaviors. The research was applied to 540 public employees of a Federal Institution of Higher Education (IFES) in northern Brazil. The response rate for this study was 33.5%. For data analysis, the Structural Equation Modeling approach by Partial Least Squares (PLS-SEM) was used. The results confirm hypotheses H1, H2 and H3 and indicate that public emplo yees with a high level of perception of digital competence more often develop challenging work to generate new innovative behaviors at work. Adherence to infrastructure, integration and digital management can help the institution to obtain behaviors aimed at innovation, thus, it is up to university public management to conduct them effectively. This research was limited to investigating the influence of digital competence on innovative work behaviors of public employees of a Brazilian IFES. Future studies may address other contextual factors in this relationship. One of the managerial implications is the need for Educational managers to support the construction of guidelines for educational and technological innovation to expand innovative behavior at work.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estilos de liderança e clima organizacional: um estudo comparativo(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-02-14) SILVA, Gesuino Carlos Caninde; RAMOS, Camila Carvalho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4681656913940932Analyzes of organizational behavior involving leadership and organizational climate provide benefits when performed in both private and public organizations. In this premise, leaders emerge in the management process, influencing their subordinates and contributing to the feeling of a collaborative climate that encourages individuals. Thus, this study investigated the perception of 129 servants working in Institutes that bring together 22 Faculties of a Higher Education Institution (HEI), regarding aspects related to leadership and the organizational climate. The specific objectives of the research were to identify leadership styles; assess the organizational climate; and relate the leadership style with the assessment of the climate. Methodologically, it was a quantitative research, of a descriptive nature, applied to IES servers, through two questionnaires adapted from previous research. To assess leadership, a questionnaire consisting of ten questions with three statements each was used, based on the leadership styles: Autocratic, Democratic and Liberal. In the climate assessment, the Support from Management factor was applied, which comprises 9 statements on a five-point Likert scale, ranging from (1) totally disagree to (5) totally agree. To relate the leadership style with the climate assessment, the Spearman Correlation Coefficient was used. As a result of the study, the Democratic leadership style was predominant (70.54%), with a positively perceived organizational climate. In the correlation between styles and climate, there was no association for the Autocratic leader; there are positive and moderate correlations for the Democratic leader; and a decline in the assessment of climate variables for the Liberal style. In conclusion, the study provides public managers with a better understanding of leadership styles and how much they can reflect, under the perception of public servants, on the organizational climate.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Fatores da intenção de adoção de aplicativos de saúde móvel (MHEALTH) na Amazônia brasileira: uma análise na perspectiva do usuário(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-07-10) NOBRE, Maria Bezerra; BRANTES, Jorge Ferreira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0457680155949405; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9579-4477; POLETO, Thiago; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2623462990819090; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7100-2319MHealth technology has been disseminated as a technological solution for digitizing health services in contexts of low diffusion and technological development. However, there are gaps in the understanding of factors that affect intentions to use and adopt this technology, especially considering more experienced users of mobile application technology. The research aims to investigate technology acceptance in order to assess the determinants of mHealth adoption in the Amazon. To test and validate the proposed conceptual model, structural equation modeling was used with questionnaire data from 352 participants. The results obtained from the research indicate significant relationships between the constructs evaluated and that perceived privacy mediates the effect between trust and behavioral intentions to adopt mHealth applications, as well as indirect influences such as self-efficacy and direct effects such as perceived usefulness and attitude. The use of this model, with four potential antecedents, made it possible to explain 58% of the variance in respondents' behavioral intention to use. In this way, this study provides advances in the debate on the acceptance of technology in mHealth services.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Governança relacional na terceirização de tecnologia da informação: o papel da Teoria da Autodeterminação e o efeito mediador do controle percebido pelos gestores públicos(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-12-09) FRIAES, Ligiane Cristina Braga de Oliveira; POLETO, Thiago; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2623462990819090; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7100-2319Researchers in the field recognize the importance of the relationship between contractor and contractee in the process of Information Technology (IT) outsourcing. However, little is known about the impact of the manager's profile in this process. Thus, the objective of this research was to analyze the impact of the perception of competence, autonomy and relationship of public managers on Relational Governance (RG), as well as, to identify the effect of perceived control in this relationship. Design/methodology/approach: This study uses a quantitative approach to investigate the impact of the behavioral characteristics of IT managers from the Self-Determination Theory (SDT). The data were collected in Brazilian public institutions active in the areas of education, finance, statistics, and technology, and the hypotheses were identified and evaluated using the technique of Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Findings: The results identified that managers' selfdetermination is related to the perception of control, which consequently this impacts the RG by providing feelings of competence and autonomy capable of building a beneficial relationship with the IT provider. Practical implications: This study, promotes the understanding that upper management needs to support the autonomy of managers to increase their levels of intrinsic motivation when managing supplier deliveries. Originality/value: The application of Self-Determination Theory, to the IT Outsourcing context, provides new insights into the mediation of perceived control by explaining the relationship between managers' expectations and motivations as an important driver for RG.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Impacto das iniciativas institucionais sobre o comportamento ambiental em universidades federais(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2025-04-08) NERES, Lilaine de Sousa; SCHIMITH, Cristiano Descovi; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7017921569470426; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2545-942XSustainable development in universities has become a common practice, as shared knowledge and the training of new professionals influence societal behavior. The aim of this study is to analyze the relationship between environmental initiatives and organizational citizenship behavior for the environment (OCB-E) in federal universities. This is a descriptive and quantitative study with canonical correlation analysis conducted with staff from the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) and the Federal Rural University of the Amazon (UFRA). The applied questionnaire utilized the Environmental Initiatives Scale and the OCB-E Scale. The results indicated that environmental initiatives have a positive influence on OCB-E, with emphasis on environmental policy and eco-initiative, while civic eco-engagement showed a moderate relationship. The study contributes to expanding knowledge about institutional factors that encourage sustainable practices in the university environment and provides support for managers in developing strategies aimed at sustainability and environmental engagement of public servants in line with Sustainable Development Goals 4, 11 and 12, which provide for quality education, sustainable cities and communities, and responsible consumption and production, respectively.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Indicadores de desempenho como instrumento de transparência e gestão organizacional(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-04-27) MARQUES, Gisele Cristiane Andrade; RAMOS, Camila Carvalho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4681656913940932The present study was to investigate the perception of public managers about the use of indicators to evaluate and monitor the performance of those who work in public organizations, as well as to increase the transparency of the public institution results. For that end, a descriptive study was carried out, guided by a quantitative approach, with the application of questionnaires with 72 managers of the participating institution. The behavioral decomposition technique was used to create indicators, in which 27 competencies were decomposed into 97 performance indicators. The results showed that m anagers were able to relate the indicators to their respective competences and recognized their contributions to increasing the transparency of the institution's results. Therefore, this study innovates by presenting a methodology capable of creating performance indicators to make the performance evaluation process carried out in Brazilian public institutions more objective and transparent, thus avoiding conflicts and contradictions in the process.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Indicadores de valor social: perspectiva dos usuários do Projeto Usina da Paz(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2025-03-31) BARBOSA, Mônica Barreto; MARTINS, Harley dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3094067019584624; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1400-0939The literature on social value indicates that managers do not possess the necessary skills to incorporate social values into decision-making processes or to adequately evaluate them. Furthermore, there is no unified method to measure social value, and the existing methods use financial and monetary metrics. Thus, the need arose to identify qualitative indicators of social value, which represent the real impacts of projects and their social complexity in a nonmonetary way, based on the perspectives of the project’s main stakeholders: the users. The aim was also to identify the SDGs practiced by the project and the relationships between them and social value. To this end, research was carried out, characterized as an exploratory case study with a qualitative approach, using semi-structured interviews involving 34 users of the Usina da Paz Project, located in the metropolitan region of Belém. The interview script was adapted based on factors identified in the literature review. Data analysis was conducted through Bardin’s thematic content analysis, using ATLAS.ti software to assist in the analysis, storage, and management of data. The findings suggest that the Usina da Paz Project addresses 12 of the 17 existing SDGs, with greater activity in SDG 4 (Quality Education) with 144 mentions and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) with 72 mentions, while 5 SDGs were not addressed by the interviewees. Accordingly, 17 social value indicators were identified, represented qualitatively, showing that social value is present in the project and is directly linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Based on the identified indicators, the 17 codes were grouped into 6 categories, according to key themes for better understanding. SDG 4 (Quality Education) presents a strong relationship with the social value indicators of the Usina da Paz Project, especially education and training (coefficient 0.50), equality and opportunities (coefficient 0.14), and culture and personal enrichment (coefficient 0.17). This suggests that the project is on the right path to contributing to the UN 2030 Agenda. Finally, it was found that users have a positive perception regarding their interaction with other stakeholders in the project; however, there is room to improve user participation in decision-making processes.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Indústria 4.0: a inteligência artificial aliada aos cuidados com a saúde no atendimento ao paciente em hospitais universitários federais no âmbito da Amazônia Legal(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-07-17) NOGUEIRA, Vanessa Letícia de Vasconcelos; CARMO, Annibal José Roris Rodriguez Scavarda do; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6070280268935110; SCHIMITH, Cristiano Descovi; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7017921569470426; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2545-942XResearch into the subject of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has grown over the last five years as a result of an event known as the 4th Industrial Revolution, or also known as Industry 4.0. Artificial intelligence is playing an increasingly important role in the treatment of patients in various areas of medicine. The aim of this research was to identify how the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has contributed to patient care. To this end, a literature review was carried out in order to research the theoretical framework that underpins the construction of the research. A framework was then drawn up based on the main theoretical approaches in the current literature. In conjunction, field research was carried out, which included an empirical investigation in the place where the phenomenon occurs, using a semi-structured interview script with health professionals working in Federal University Hospitals (HUFs) located in the Legal Amazon region. The research is justified by the need to improve patient care in the HUFs, with the aim of contributing to new models of service provision. The data obtained from the interviews with professionals at these hospitals was compared with the results from the literature review, and the empirical characteristics of the research brought out positive and negative points in relation to their use of AI in patient care. As a solution, this research presents a model to support patient care with the insertion of AI in HUFS, considering the concept of mimetic isomorphism, in which this practice tends to be homogenized or standardized imminently through its consolidation in the market.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Influências do uso de sistemas interoperáveis no setor público(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-06-25) CASTRO, Hudson Augusto Silva de; SCHIMITH, Cristiano Descovi; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7017921569470426; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2545-942XPurpose: Interoperability is the ability of a system to communicate with others. In the Brazilian public sector, at the federal level, the interoperability of systems becomes mandatory through Law Nº. 14,129, of March 29, 2021. Thus, research aimed at identifying influences on the interoperability of systems in the public sector is urgent and necessary. Design/Methodology/Approach: This research uses the qualitative-quantitative approach to investigate the effects of the barriers brought by the Semiotic Interoperability Theory in the use of interoperable systems, as well as to investigate the influence of such systems on the quality of shared information and engagement at work. As the object of the research, the SIG System used at the Federal University of Pará was chosen. Data were obtained through a survey. After data collection, the data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Originality: This research contributes to the literature by expanding the debate on the interoperability of systems in the public sector in an intra-organizational way, since research on the subject is still scarce. In addition, it offers practical perspectives by analyzing the barriers and influences of the intra-organizational process of system interoperation in the Brazilian public sector. Findings: As a result, it was observed that the variables of the Se-miotic Interoperability Theory are able to explain the use of systems that are in intra-organizational interoperation. In addition, it was possible to identify that the use of interoperable systems has a positive and significant relationship both in the quality of the information provided and in the engagement at work.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Integrando a teoria do comportamento planejado e o oportunismo para prever os efeitos na intenção de renovação contratual de serviços contínuos na administração pública(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-12-18) SÁ, Najla Andrade Massoud de; POLETO, Thiago; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2623462990819090; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7100-2319Purpose: This study explores the integration between the theory of planned behavior and the concept of opportunism to analyze contract renewal intentions in continuous services in public administration. Originality: The research advances the academic field by applying this theoretical combination to understand the decisions of public managers regarding contract renewal. The study highlights the relevance of cognitive elements in managers' decisions regarding contract renewal. This theoretical approach deepens the understanding of public sector decision-making processes and converges with external assessments related to contractors' pportunism. Approach: The quantitative methodology examined the responses of 198 public managers in charge of continuous service contracts. The method used to analyze the results is Partial Least Squares (PLS), based on SmartPLS 4.0 software. Conclusions: The results indicate that the variables of the theory of planned behavior (subjective norms, attitudes, and perceived behavioral control) exert a positive influence on contract renewal intention. However, opportunism had a negative effect on contract renewal intention. Furthermore, opportunism positively moderated the relationship between attitude and intention, while there was no moderation between subjective norms and perceived behavior control. Practical implications: It is proposed that managers adopt negotiation strategies that prioritize transparent dialogue, which is essential to establish trust between the parties. Furthermore, public administration should invest in improving managerial capacity in order to implement appropriate solutions for contract management.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Liderança feminina na Polícia Militar: um estudo na Região Norte do Brasil(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-12-03) NEGRÃO, Íris Alves Miranda; POLETO, Thiago; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2623462990819090; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7100-2319This dissertation investigates female leadership in the Military Police of the Northern Region of Brazil. The aim of the study is to understand the new competencies developed by women in leadership positions within this institution, with a focus on shared leadership. To this end, the aspects that stimulate the effect of the privacy paradox and influence the perception of prestige, concern with privacy and access to new Social Media were identified, as well as the analysis of trust as a antecedent variable to adoption, constituting a mediation between the concern for privacy and the adoption of these Media. The examination of the data showed that trust acts as a mediator of the effect of concern for privacy in the adoption of new Social Media and prestige, when associated with brands of companies with consolidated reputations, motivates the reduction of concern for privacy in consumers, considering the unique opportunities offered by Social Media in the content of perceived prestige, increasing its adoption.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Motivação e engajamento no trabalho: uma pesquisa com servidores da educação superior(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-05-11) RODRIGUES, Rômulo Augusto Parente; MATTOS, Carlos André Corrêa de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3337808570398709; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3027-7479Motivation is a construct that has been studied for decades and is characterized as a driving force that boosts people to make personal efforts to achieve something. Engagement at work, on the other hand, concerns the worker's immersion in his organizational role, when expressing himself physically, cognitively, and emotionally throughout his work activity. Thus, motivation and engagement at work stand out for organizational performance. Considering this aspect, this yresearch aims to analyze the motivation and engagement of public education workers in Federal Institutions of Higher Education (IFES, Brazilian acronym) in the Pará State, Brazil, and to identify the connection of constructs. For this purpose, the Work Preference Inventory (WPI) scale was used to measure motivation, and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) was used to measure work engagement. The survey method with treatment of quantitative data used the Structural Equation Modeling. The questionnaire was applied using the SurveyMonkey® digital platform. The results confirmed the study's hypotheses that there was an influence of extrinsic motivation on intrinsic motivation and of extrinsic and intrinsic motivation on engagement at work, showing that workers motivated by both internal and external reasons are more engaged in their work activities and that organizational strategies that encourage worker motivation are beneficial at both the individual and organizational levels.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Prevalência da síndrome de Burnout entre entregadores ciclistas de aplicativo(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-03-04) SILVA, Ayara Letícia Bentes da; RAMOS, Camila Carvalho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4681656913940932Changes in the labor market, combined with the intensification of competition and the relaxation of labor laws, have brought new risks to workers' health and organizational productivity. This competitive and dynamic environment can often lead to professional illness with psychological illnesses such as: depression, panic syndrome, anxiety disorders and Burnout Syndrome (BS). In this era of technological advancement, a work arrangement that is emerging as a trend in society is the “Gig Economy”. There is a focus of research on this economy that investigates how service provision works based on digital platform commands, with a lack of studies focusing on the health and quality of life of these workers. This scenario, added to the high number of professionals away from their work suffering from Burnout Syndrome, makes a study opportune to investigate the prevalence of the Syndrome in app cyclist delivery drivers, which is one of the professional categories present in this economy. The present study was developed through quantitative research with 159 cyclist delivery drivers who work through food and perishables apps. In this study, multiple linear regression analysis made it possible to examine the relationship between a dependent variable (Burnout) and five independent variables (age, daily working hours, lack of delivery driver training, lack of a place to rest and number of work accidents). It was found that the variables working hours per day and work accidents are predictors of Burnout Syndrome.
