Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A “nova” Cidade Velha: arquiteturas e percepções no entorno do centro histórico de Belém, Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-04-04) COSTA FILHO, Sidney Pery da Silva; MIRANDA, Cybelle SalvadorThe Cidade Velha neighborhood, which gave rise to the city of Belém, is commonly related to the “old” due to its history and the fact that it shelters buildings and sites of interest to preservation. However, there is a section of the neighborhood that compounds the surroundings of the Historic Center of Belém and that can be considered as the "new" Cidade Velha for having characteristics that differ from the “patrimonial” Cidade Velha, as an occupation that relates to a period after the foundation of the initial nucleus and the fact that, above all, the renovation architectures, which in its place a new construction is allowed by the law, predominate in there. Thus, motivated by the fact that the author and researcher is a resident of the neighborhood, the main objective of the dissertation is to analyze the "new" Cidade Velha and understand how the materiality that refers to the existing architecture and the different perceptions that the individuals have about this area contribute to construct the identity of an area located within a neighborhood in which the predicate “old” usually defines it as a whole. The present research also addresses the themes of the search for a regionality and rescue of Amazonian roots and the relationship of individuals with architectural heritage, which implies the existence of particular memories and values attributed to places and buildings in the neighborhood. Through the ethnographic method, especially the variant of street ethnography, it was possible to establish a dialogue with residents and visitors of the area. In addition, the dialogue with heritage agents also contributed to the final result of the research, which intends to highlight an understudied area of that continues to be transformed, contributing to make Cidade Velha a unique and complex neighborhood.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O palácio dos governadores sob anacronias e traduções: percepções etnovisuais e vivências no antigo Palácio de Landi restaurado por la Rocque(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-08-27) SILVA, Vithória Carvalho da; MIRANDA, Cybelle Salvador; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3254198738703536; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5913-989XThe dissertation comprises studies on the Palácio dos Governadores, in Belém do Pará, from the analysis of the monument in 250 years of history, as well as its current relevance to the society of Pará. Thus, the analysis is segmented into three main periods to be addressed: the legacy of its architect creator Antônio José Landi in the construction of the Palace, in 1771, as Residence and Governmental Office; the restoration intervention operated by Roberto de La Rocque Soares in 1972 with the aim of recovering part of the original essence of the work; and the effects of such actions in contemporaneity, given that the space currently houses the Museum of the State of Pará (MEP), with fixed and temporary exhibitions, which shows not only art and architecture, but the history of Pará manifested in its ambience, receiving daily visitors experiencing the monument. About this, the argument is built from two main questions, which discuss how the translation of Landi by La Rocque was made during the restoration, and how this translation is perceived by the public that currently visits the Palace. For this, the ethnographic method together with the anachronistic review of the Palace's historiography served as a guide for the development of the research, pointing out ethnovisual perceptions from the author's view to that of the museum's visiting public, as well as producing new debates on the relevance of La Rocque as translator of Landi's original work during the restoration.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Quando o olhar abraça: um flâneur experienciando as ambiencias do comércio informal de Belém do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-07-01) SOUZA, Everton Ronniery Tavares; SILVA, Luiz de Jesus Dias da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1834457786441101; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9037-5081The existing dynamics in the urban space results from diversified historical, social and economic transformations, which are intertwined with informality. In this sense, it was not only the affective relationships and social proximity that had abrupt changes over time, but a whole commercial and social collective that induced such dynamics. This research aims, then, to reflect about the informal work more traditionally known, from the concepts of perception and subjectivity, in one of the main corridors of popular commerce in the city of Belém: Conselheiro João Alfredo and Santo Antônio Streets. Based on this essence, the research presents a historical evolutionary line, highlighting the origins of informal commerce, as well as presenting ethnographic and perceptive incursions regarding the built environment, the informal work protagonist and his reality, culminating with reflections about the meaning that informality has for the city, accompanied by the sensitive map of the lived ambiences.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Residências Art Déco no bairro do Reduto em Belém-PA: entre a modernização e o tradicionalismo (1930-1950)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-11-09) GOMES, Lúcio Mozart Oliveira; VIDAL, Celma de Nazaré Chaves de Souza Pont; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0782346426511704; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3437-3844The diffusion of art deco architecture, from the 1920s onwards, as an architecture that represents the development of industrial society is accepted in much of the western world by various groups and social classes as a possible path to modernization, however it is still an architecture which has strong links with the historicist past of the 19th century. Its interlocution with industrial and manufacturing activities is evident as these productive organizations gain strength. In Belém, the advance of a productive system aimed at the factory economy from the second quarter of the 20th century onwards made the style, more consistent with this type of production, increasingly present in the neighborhood of Reduto, where , in the first half of the 20th century, a large number of factories and commercial enterprises were concentrated, contributing to the intensification of deco architecture in the neighborhood. Conceiving the relationship between art deco architecture and industrial development, this research seeks to study the characteristics, whether modern or traditional, of the art deco culture expressed in homes in the neighborhood of Reduto, in Belém, between the 1930s and 1950s through the typological series developed by the architect Marina Waisman (1972).Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Manaus (AM): história, patrimônio e significância cultural(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-05-05) SILVA, Camyla Lorena Torres; MIRANDA, Cybelle Salvador; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3254198738703536; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5913-989XThe Santa Casa de Misericórdia of Manaus / AM is one of the oldest public hospitals in Amazonas and its assistance and health activities are linked to the long tradition of the Misericórdias. His building is part of an area recognized as a Brazilian cultural heritage and a representative example of the historical period of rubber and eclectic architecture. After 140 years of providing health and charity services, the Santa Casa de Manaus has closed its doors in the midst of a serious financial crisis and its building has gradually suffered damage caused by abandonment, lack of maintenance and, subsequently, depredations. Through its patrimonial character and its important contribution in the history of the city, this work aims to contribute to the identification of the values denominated to its building for the understanding of its significant cultural understanding. From documentary and bibliographic research, from the ethnographic research method and from the application of the perception form, the existence of complementary and contrasting values, which when articulated, confer a high degree of significance at Santa Casa de Misericórdia architectural complex the key element for a composition of its meaning. In this way, a preliminary model of declaration of significance of faith elaborated, to contribute to the conservation actions that maintain their meaning and that can guide public policies for the management of this cultural heritage.
