Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Competitividade inter-regional de sistemas de produção de bovinocultura de corte(2013-08) OAIGEN, Ricardo Pedroso; BARCELLOS, Júlio Otávio Jardim; CANOZZI, Maria Eugênia Andrighetto; SOARES, Jean Carlos dos Reis; CANELLAS, Leonardo Canali; ALVES, Carine Oliveira; TAVARES, Héliton Ribeiro; COSTA, Fabrício Martins daThis paper presents a methodology for evaluating production systems by measuring the intern competitiveness of in beef cattle. During the first quarter of 2010, questionnaires were administered to 65 farmers, 36 interviews in the Southern Region (State of Rio Grande do Sul) and 29 in the Northern Region (States of Pará and Rondônia). Defined the key drivers that affect the international competitiveness - technology, management, market relations and institutional environment, an specific weight was assigned to each in order to get the index of competitiveness. The results were statistically analyzed by the item response theory and the correspondence analysis (ANACOR) with the SPSS® software. The South was more competitive than the North. Regardless of region, the critical factors of competitiveness were: crop-livestock integration, strategic planning, calculation of financial indicators, beef pricing, access to technological innovations and organization of farmers.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Competitividade interna na bovinocultura de corte no Estado do Rio Grande do Sul(2011-06) OAIGEN, Ricardo Pedroso; BARCELLOS, Júlio Otávio Jardim; CANOZZI, Maria Eugênia Andrighetto; CHRISTOFARI, Luciana Fagundes; SOARES, Jean Carlos dos Reis; ALVES, Carine OliveiraThe present research aimed to identify the main internal factors (costs, income, techno-economic feasibility and technologic innovation use) which affect the beef cattle activity competitiveness in a complete cycle production system in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The data was collected during the year of 2008 based on monthly meetings between the months of January and December. Later the data was analyzed in eletronic spreadsheets. The costs were subdivided in disbursed, operating and total costs and the income in category and total. Among the evaluated costs, the land opportunity cost, labor force and animal supplementation with values of 19.9%, 18.3%, 13.6% respectively, can be pointed out in relation to total cost. The main financial and technical indicators commonly used in production systems analysis were calculated. The economic margins (gross, operating and net), as well as the profitability over the net worth were positive which show economic feasibility in the activity. At the same time, technical indicators as the output rate and the productivity/ha showed satisfactory values. Thus it can be concluded that the evaluated internal factors were very competitive for the studied system.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Enfermidades em bovinos associadas ao consumo de resíduos de cervejaria(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-12) BRUST, Luís Armando Calvão; ARAGÃO, Ana Paula; BEZERRA JÚNIOR, Pedro Soares; GALVÃO, Alexandre; FRANÇA, Ticiana do Nascimento; GRAÇA, Flávio Augusto Soares; PEIXOTO, Paulo VargasThe use of brewery by-products in cattle feed has grown in recent years as an excellent alternative for maintenance or increase in cattle productivity especially in Southeastern Brazil. Among the most employed by-products are malted barley waste and brewer's yeast, a liquid by-product that contains alcohol and is widely used in the State of Rio de Janeiro. Careless or incorrect use of these products, as well as inadequate storage, can cause ethanol poisoning, neurotoxicosis by Aspergillus clavatus, ruminal acidosis and botulism. This paper highlights the importance of these conditions as causes of severe economic losses to livestock, and provides support for the establishment of diagnosis, differential diagnosis and prophylaxis.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Pecuária bovina de corte no Estado do Pará: água, impactos ambientais e sustentabilidade ambiental(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-09-28) PEREIRA, Sueli de Lima; ALVES, Rui Guilherme Cavaleiro de Macedo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1902384822911246; MACHADO, Luiza Carla Girard Teixeira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9773700229115395The beef chain in Brazil occupies a prominent position in the context of rural Brazilian economy, occupying large areas of national territory and accounting for the generation of jobs and rent of millions of Brazilians. But with the growth of this activity was accompanied by possible negative environmental impacts that opposes the dynamic balance of sustainability. Thus it was necessary to characterize these negative environmental impacts related to water resources in the stages of the production chain of beef: Cattle and slaughterhouses/ refrigerators. In the research were emphasized water consumption and generation of bovine tailings causing potential pollution of water resources defined in geographical areas of the mesoregions in the state of Pará. The methodology was used for qualitative and quantitative bibliographic data and statistics research, with the collaboration of the federal and state institutions and the data analysis was presented through graphs and tables and the estimation of some indicators of pollution. The results confirm the great pollution to water resources generated receptors tailings cattle with large increase of BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) both in Cattle and slaughterhouses/ refrigerators activity, where it generated a large amount of organic matter. It was concluded the importance of using sustainable production measures such as reusing byproducts of cattles laughterhouse and the use of strategies Cleaner Production.
