Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) As Casas Bahia não entrarão no Amapá. Consumo, política e intersubjetividade(Universidade Estadual Paulista, 2013-08) CASTRO, Fábio Fonseca deAn unusual subject appeared in the 2010 election campaign in the brazilian state of Amapá: the rumor that, if the candidate Lucas Barreto (PTB) was elected governor, his deputy governor, Jaime Nunes, entrepreneur owner of the largest group of local retail stores Domestilar, will mobilize political conditions to prevent the arriving of new retail groups in the state, particularly the "Casas Bahia", a powerful Brazilian network of retail stores. Bombarded by advertising this group, which is aired on national television, the population converted this subject into a political issue. The article seeks to understand how consumer desire, with its political dimension, is an intersubjective phenomenon in a mediatized society.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Conflito, aventura e misticismo que Amazônia são narradas em filme de ficção(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-12) TAVARES, Lívia Alencar Pacifico; BASTOS, Sandra Nazaré DiasThe present work aims to analyze how the Brazilian Amazon (BA) is represented in fiction films. Faced with a series of titles aimed at the most diverse audiences, we chose Jonathas’ Forest, launched in 2013, a movie aimed at the children and adolescents audience that narrates the romance between Jonathas, a simple boy native to the Amazon and Milly, a foreign (Ukrainian) girl who visits Manaus in search of leisure and adventure. For analysis of the statements, we take the films as pedagogical devices that circulate representations that are capable of producing social effects that translate into a regime of truth that teach us ways to see and say the Amazon, as well as the people that live on it. We seek in Michel the concepts of discourse, power, enunciation, dispersion and subjectivation to sustain our analysis. We could observe, from the object that we have chosen for this study, that in general the Amazon is represented as an inhospitable and far place. To the local inhabitants is a place of imprisonment and for the foreigners, it is seen as a promise of mysticism, beauty and adventure The plot of the film shows the space that is or represented by mysticism (present in female elements such as the forest and Jonatha’s mother) or by its strength and power to punish those that venture there.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Entre a violência e a mídia: percepções dos policiais sobre si(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-03-30) NERES, Priscila de Sousa; COSTA, Alda Cristina Silva daThis paper aims to analyze the relationship between violence, the police and the media from the perspective of police officers, that is, how police officers perceive their self construction and the construction of their performance in the media chanels of the state of Pará. We note that military police officers are the mediators between violence, media and society. They are a main source of information, those who first come to an occurrence, and represent the voice that speaks for the state, the victim and the suspect at the same time. Together, violence, the police, and the media establish a communicative relationship marked by social interactions. In this sense, this paper has as its backbone the theoretical perspectives of symbolic interactionism, which assumes that one's actions are based on the meanings the world offers them; meanings are acquired from social interaction. The qualitative research method was used considering the subjective character of investigations, as well as narrative analysis, to understand the meanings that officers build of themselves and their daily lives. For data collection, we conducted 20 semi-structured interviews with military police officers who hold different positions in the operations department of the Military Police of the state of Pará, in the ostensive policing of the 20th Military Police Battalion, located in the neighborhood of Guamá, in Belém. We found that military police officers perceive the news as being disproportionate, considering the media's privilege to report only the negative aspects of officers’ activities and actions, most frequently appealing to exaggeration and sensationalism in search of audience. They also perceive the news about themselves as exhaustive, generalized and disregarding of their individuality. That is, it dissociates the individual from the professional. For police officers, the excess or systematic repetition of narratives of violence in Pará’s media is harmful because, as they explain, there is a desire for greater police apparatus, more demands, and for the police to take more space in the media’s narratives.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Geopolítica da comunicação na Amazônia(Universidade Metodista de São Paulo, 2012-06) CASTRO, Fábio Fonseca deThis paper brings an overview of media communication systems in the Northern region of Brazil (the Amazon) observing its operational orientations and its strategies of social reproduction. The objective is to establish a typology of private and public organizations, as well as of the several communication agents who work in the Amazon, observing their systemic relations and their role in the local media economy.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) A imagem da negra e do negro em produtos de beleza e a estética do racismo(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-06) SANT'ANA, Jonathas Vilas Boas deThis article has for purpose discuss the representation of the black population, especially black woman, in images of beauty products present at trades of Goias northeast. Becomes evident that the presence of negative stereotypes in these images disseminates racist imagery presented in the form of a racist aesthetic that conceals the exclusion and normalizes the degradation suffered by black people in Brazilian society. The analysis of the imagetical material pointed to the aesthetic devaluation of black people, especially black woman, and an idealization of beauty and whitening to be pursued through use of the products presented. The media-advertising discourse of beauty products remembers and legitimizes the practice of a racist ethics based and active in everyday life. Facing this discussion is suggested that the antiracism work, done in different social spaces, consider using strategies for an "aesthetic decolonization" that empowers the black population by means of its aesthetic value and protagonism in the construction of an ethics of diversity.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Kyikatejê: entre o campo e a aldeia(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-03-30) PINHEIRO, Nathália Maria Cohén; LIMA, Regina Lúcia Alves de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8158415442871989This thesis aims to analyze the discourse on the Indian football team Gavião Kyikatêjê circulating in audiovisual products. In carrying out this study, we sought to bring a new perspective on the subject, given its relevance to the social environment and recognizing that it has already been the subject of other research. The conception that is aimed to be achieved is to deconstruct a negative idea, erroneously disseminated in society, especially regarding the role of the media, in which their real importance is not recognized, identifying them as an obstacle to the correct application of the law by the courts. With this in mind, each system was studied in isolation, distinguishing its binary codes, its elements and the operations that occur internally. And, only from this, we investigated the irritations coming from the media system on the judicial system, verifying how this affects the decisions of the courts and the production of certainty. Thus, it was up to this work to verify whether, in the face of these interferences, there is a structural coupling between the two systems or an intrassystemic corruption of the media system over the judicial system.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) A midiatização da violência escolar: o cenário das produções acadêmicas(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-06) SILVA, Lívia Sousa daThis study contributes to the state of the knowledge concerning the propagation of school violence in the press, and the meanings the latter assigns to school violence. Bibliographic research in works such as theses and dissertations, articles and publications, and academic events, gathered from several databases, made it possible to sense, mainly, the negligence in the field of education with respect to the production of knowledge on the subject in question, given the lack of researchwhich, otherwise, would allow for a better understanding of the kind of influence the media has on the society and the schooll community by means of the proposals of their perception of the phenomenon of violence, and of the latter in relation to the school setting.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) O mundo cor de rosa: as representações de gêneros nas propagandas da Hello Kitty(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-06) CAMÕES, Luciane de Sena; BRÍCIO, Vilma Nonato deThis article is a part of the research themed “The pink world: the gender representation in the Hello Kitty’s propagandas” which had the main objective problematize, specifically the “Hello Kitty Scholl”, as a trademark to little girls. The analyses of the propaganda showed that the children representation oscillate between the consume of the products and the transmission of pattern considered proper to girl, which emphasizes the erotization of the body, because they evidenciate attributes considered feminine, like the preoccupation with the beauty, with the body, with the clothes, of being updated with last fashion tendencies, which is reinforced by the presence of the pink color marking the sentimentalism and the emotions of the girls. The media by its predomination in social and cultural fields needs to be debated in a way the adult and children reflect about their childhood and gender meanings in its transmitted.Tese Acesso aberto (Open Access) Narrativas de Bragança nas vozes do rádio(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-08-05) COSTA, Rafaella Contente Pereira da; SIMÕES, Maria do Perpétuo Socorro Galvão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0672011058049782; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1365-6258The thesis "Bragança's Narratives in Voices of the Radio" seeks to understand how oral narratives were used and appropriated by Rádio Educadora in the decade of its implementation, 1960, in the city of Bragança (PA), showing the role of the station in the process of transferring local traditional knowledge during the radio classes and, of course, in the Educadora's programming. Faced with the concepts of memory and oral narratives, permeated by decolonial theories, I try to show the idea that this radio is inserted in bragantine's memory as an element of representation of the region's oral culture. In this sense, choosing oral narratives as the main source of study aims to assign centrality to the subjects. Individual and collective memories are central resources in maintaining the tradition of peoples, marking, with oral narratives, the presence of knowledge passed down through generations, therefore, in the perpetuation of their ancestral knowledge. The radio, as a communication device, acted in the processes of visibility for Bragantine culture and identity. In this sense, the decolonial vision contributed to the Rádio Educadora being part of the daily lives of Bragança's residents, not as just a broadcaster, but as an institution that is part of the set of elements that characterize the identity of the place, observed in the narratives that circulate in the city and in the towns and communities of the municipality. For this thesis, the concepts of Simões, Halbwachs, Castells, Bosi, Bakhtin, Vygotsky, Walsh, Mignolo e Quijano.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Narrativas e mídia: discussões e proposta(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-12) CAVALCANTI, Larissa de PinhoSince the 1960s we have witnessed the rising in scientific interest and speculation regarding narratives, their structure and functions. Taking oral, written and visual forms, narrative events contribute to the development, legitimation or rejection of attitudes and values for particular contexts, that is, they connect the subject to their culture. Our paper approaches visual narratives, in particular the ones produced by mass media, in order to define and characterize visual narratives as well as relate them to the anthropologic research. We have reviewed literature and, at the end, offer a brief analysis of TV series names The Night Shift as cultural artifact and the articulation of the ‘soldier’ and ‘doctor’ elements of identity regarding the main character. We have resourced to Bamberg (2010), Cihodariu (2012), Hartmann (2004, 2005), Labov (1997), Ochs (2004), Ochs e Capss (1996), Pimenta e Poovaiah (2010) and Travancas (2008)Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Para além do riso: charges, consciência histórica e Ensino de História(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-03-20) SILVA, Neles Maia da; CHARLET, Eliane Cristina Soares; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6000275052016633This work aims to discuss the reading and production of cartoons by primary school students, focusing on the debates around historical consciousness. The problem becomes pertinent, since the images are almost always used as illustration or reinforcement and not as historical sources. In this sense, we seek to understand how students read and analyze images, especially the cartoon and what relations exist between their productions and historical consciousness. We used the workshop-class methodology of Isabel Barca and the theoretical debates of Jörn Rüsen, André Chervel, Juliá Dominique in dialogue with the national historiography of Maria Auxiliadora Schmidt, Circe Bittencourt among others. The sources of our research were various cartoons, school documents, student cartoons, socioeconomic records and texts produced by them. The research was developed at the Guajarina Menezes School in São João de Pirabas-PA, with a 9th grade class from Elementary School. The product of this research was a set of cartoons produced by the students and teacher on different subjects. It was considered at the end of the research that the historical consciousness is not only present in the students, but also presents itself in different ways, in view of their world readings, their thematic choices in producing the cartoons and their experiences. Students were not mere receivers of knowledge, but they also constructed and were subject in this process.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Raiva humana e transmissão do vírus rábico por morcegos: o que sabe e como se informa a população de um município sob risco na Amazônia brasileira(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-07-01) ANDRADE, Etiene Monteiro de; BEZERRA, Isis Abel; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3274919406647242The objective of this study was to verify what the population of Curuçá, a municipality in the Amazon of Pará, in which bat attacks are second in reports of aggression by animals, knows about the transmission, prevention and risks of rabies, especially that transmitted bats, as well as identifying the means of communication used by the population to inform themselves about the disease and news in general. A cross-sectional observational study was carried out, with a sample of 377 city dwellers, randomly selected by means of a proportional stratified sampling, considering the census sectors of Curuçá as strata. These subjects answered a semi-structured questionnaire to assess what they knew about rabies and the means used to obtain this information. As a result, it was found that the majority of respondents (72.9%) stated that they know what rabies is, although they do not know how to indicate aspects such as reservoirs, forms of transmission and symptoms, in addition to not presenting self-care practices for rabies. prevention. It was also found that the bat is the second most present animal in reports of aggressions (24.6%) and that the majority of respondents (67.9%) were unaware of the outbreaks in the state in 2004 and 2005. It was concluded with this study that the knowledge of the population of Curuçá about rabies is limited, obtained mainly in their own circle of coexistence, through personal contacts and as for the mass media, a preference was found to obtain information by means that do not require reading, such as television and radio. This work points out what content needs to be accessible to this population and the means of communication that would be most effective in this socio-geographical and cultural context.Dissertação Acesso aberto (Open Access) Sexualidades dissidentes em prosa: as representações das homossexualidades masculinas e das travestis na década de 1970 nos jornais de Belém/PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-09-28) CASTRO, Alana Albuquerque de; CANCELA, Cristina Donza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8393402118322730The civil-military coup took place in 1964, and it would last until mid-1985, the year which would mark the beginning of a series of social, political, cultural and economic changes. During this period, more specifically in the 70's, homosexuality would rise to a prominent place, not only in Brazil but in the entire world. The gay power movement and the Sexual Revolution would bring to light an entire generation which was tired of hiding and denying its own desires. In this context, Belém was also a stage for great changes. The "Mainstream Media" supported the military regime and all of its "morality". On the other hand, however, Belém's youth was breaking free from its shackles and looking for ways to have their voice heard by society, either through attempts to organize themselves politically or through spaces of sociability. Homosexuality and transvestites were not invisible and these subjects were not willing to remain on the margins of society. With that said, this work seeks to comprehend what was the place of Gay Men and Transvestites in this society going through so many transformations and how these people were portrayed in the journalistic discourses about dissident sexualities made by the mainstream media (A Província do Pará, Folha do Norte/Folha Vespertina e O Liberal) in the 70's. For this, in addition to the newspapers, I conducted interviews with interlocutors who lived the period and all these changes mentioned, broadening my understanding of the dynamics of the period, the sociability, the spaces, the social political movement, the daily practices, behaviors and representations related to homosexuals and transvestites.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) Sistemas de comunicação na Amazônia(Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos, 2012-12) CASTRO, Fábio Fonseca deThis article aims at mapping the different mediatic systems present in northern Brazil. It also seeks to comprehend its operational strategies in the social reproduction. We look for a descriptive and comparative approach to these systems, concluding that with a succinct interpretation, based in the political economy of communications. The article draws a map of the various sub-systems in Amazon: the big media groups; the midsized media groups; religious networks; public networks; government and educational media organizations; popular communication and small companies with local political and economic expression.Artigo de Periódico Acesso aberto (Open Access) A violência escolar em matérias de jornal: um imaginário construído em Belém-PA(Universidade de São Paulo, 2015) SILVA, Livia Sousa da; MENDONÇA, Kátia Marly LeiteWith the intention of investigating the constitution of the imaginary school violence in the media text; believing that the media is full of intentions that construct an imaginary of school violence influencing opinions and decisions, whether in the private or public sphere jurisdiction; participating even in the construction of school violence as an object of study, attention and intervention. That is what we propose in this work, a first incursion into this field of meanings, combining studies of Sociology of Communication and the Imaginary and studies of Comprehensive-Dialogical Hermeneutics, in order to expose a prelude to the framing of this research.
