Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A Contribuição dos Núcleos de Estudos em Agroecologia (NEAs) para o ensino, Pesquisa e Extensão em Instituições no Nordeste Paraense(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-06-07) PINHEIRO, Maria José Brito; ASSIS, William Santos de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0188412611746531This study aims to reflect on the contribution of the study nuclei in agroecology in the state of Pará to the teaching-research-extension processes in teaching and research institutions in northeast of Pará. We based our study on principles of agroecology, sustainable development, the construction of agroecological knowledge and the indissociability between teaching-research-extension. We conducted the research in four nuclei of agroecology studies: NEA IFPA-Castanhal, NEA Ajuri-UFPA Belém, NEA UFRA-Capitão Poço and NEA Puxirum Agroecological-Embrapa Eastern Amazon. We carried out the research in four nuclei of studies in agroecology, using a qualitative approach supported by bibliographical research, documentary research, field research, semi-structured interviews and the use of the questionnaire. As a result, we inferred that the nuclei of studies in agroecology have been developing relevant actions around the process of construction of agroecological knowledge in northeastern Pará, reflecting also in other territories of the state. The nuclei of studies in agroecology present significant efforts to carry out the inseparable processes between teaching, research and extension. With different institutional characteristics, the nuclei of studies in agroecology are constituted in spaces of debate on the principles of agroecology and they function as important tools for the articulation between academic scientific knowledge and the knowledge of the communities and peoples of the field.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Deslocamento compulsório de agricultores familiares por empresas mineradoras: o caso do Projeto Onça Puma no Município de Ourilândia do Norte- Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-08-28) GUEDES, Lucilei Martins; ASSIS, William Santos de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0188412611746531This study aims to analyze the environmental conflict between farmers and mining companies in the municipality of North Ourilândia Southeast of Pará. The conflict was triggered from the application of part of the area desafetação Settlement Project Campos Altos , for the purpose of installing a unit of extraction and processing of nickel laterite. The Canadian company Canico / Ounce Puma filed three applications for the INCRA desafetação an area of nearly 15.000 ha, impacting directly or indirectly more than 500 families. The central concern of the study was the analysis of conflict and negotiation process that was established between the mining company and the farmers resulting from requests for settlers desafetação. The methodology used was based on a qualitative approach using techniques such as literature search, analysis, documentation, semi-structured interviews with social actors involved and participating in meetings. The notions of environmental conflict were used for the analyzes of the central object of study. The study showed that the level of organization of families settled, with the support of civil society organizations, influenced the outcome of negotiations. Despite the progress achieved in the negotiation process, the achievement of agreements between mining company and settled families, depends on a constant mobilization of families.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Entre a vila e o assentamento: conexões que dinamizam a agricultura familiar na Amazônia Oriental(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-02-28) SILVA, Danielle Wagner; ASSIS, William Santos de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0188412611746531The purpose of this dissertation is to understand the influence from the village Santa Fé on the municipality Marabá on the social reproduction of the farmers families assettled at its surrounding. The field research was realized at the months June and August of 2010 through interviews with the farmers families, local storekeepers and public employers. The results show that the occupation and transformation process which is passing the region of the village Santa Fé reflect the dynamics from the region Marabá as a frontier region in stabilization. Its formation and consolidation as nucleus of povoation occurred in middle of regional transformations which stimulated the migration of a great number of people to the countryside of the municipality. As the same time in which the village passed to exist on occasion of the areas occupation, it passed to influence the social reproduction of the family farmers of its surrounding too, performing functions like the business, leisure places and that one of access to public services. These characteristics had generated dynamics and simbiotic processes which constituted the village and the regional family agriculture. We observed that along the time the village turn into a fundamental social and structural space of the lifestyle of the family farmers from its surrounding. On this box of changes the families have adopted various productive and social strategy types to achieve their objectives. These strategies have been also a structural factor of the relations lived by the families considering different spaces: the village, the city of Marabá and the assettlement projects. The emergency of new forms of sociability, of work relations and productive ativitivities has contributed for the remaining of relations which marked the construction of the local society as a society of interknowing, such as confidence, reciprocity and clientelism.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O extrativismo da andiroba (Carapa guianensis Aubl.) como foco mobilizador do Grupo de Trabalhadoras Artesanais e Extrativistas (GTAE) no sudeste do estado do Pará: motivações, estratégias, decisões e ações(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015) PEREIRA, Camila Maciel de Souza; SÁ, Tatiana Deane de Abreu; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2118741911414853; ASSIS, William Santos de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0188412611746531The Amazon’ biome represents a multifaceted challenge today. Many proposals were and will be developed aiming at its conservation. The creation of differentiated Settlement’s projects such as the Agro-extractive Projects – PAE’s, present themselves as a possibility to articulate the presence of populations and the environmental preservation. This research had as main objective to understand the importance of the andiroba’s (Carapa guianensis Aubl.) extraction for the appearance and operation of the Artisanal and Extractivist Working Group (GTAE) of the PAE Praialta Piranheira, considering the environmental, economic and social dimensions. Even in front of intense conflicts generated by different interests of opposition groups, they developed several initiatives seeking the use of Non Timber Forest Products of the PAE, in order to value the standing forest. In this context, the GTAE's experience shows that it is possible to combine the management of Non Timber Forest Products to preserve the biodiversity, increasing the family’s income and valuing the woman's work.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Papel social do jovem na unidade familiar: influência da experiência pedagógica da Casa Familiar Rural de Santa Maria das Barreiras - Pará - Brasil(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009-08-31) SILVA, Maria Célia Vieira da; ASSIS, William Santos de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0188412611746531This article analyze how the pedagogic experience of the familiar rural house (“CFR”) from Santa Maria das Barreiras-Pará influences the comprehention of the youth‟s role on the familiar peasants unities.Based on the qualitative aproach the research joins the speaches of the youths, parents, monitors and direction from the “CFR”, leaderships of the social and unions movements and assessors. The collective actors and the parents had different expectatives in relation to the function that the “CFR” should execute. On the side of the collective actors predominated an expectative for a forming of disseminators youth and militant youth. The expectatives of the most of the parents were stringly related with the strategies of the family for their recomposition, reproduction, empowering and protection of their members. The pedagogic experience reduced the afective and decision dependence from the youth in relation with their parents‟ opinion. That occurs in paralel with a more automny of circulation. In relation to the work on the familiar unity the changes on the agriculture practices were established speciallywhen the children and the parents were involved with the pedagogic dynamic of the “CFR”. On political and ideologic field the pedagogic experience allowed a dynamic of selfrecognyzing of the youth about their identity as farmers and a valorization of the rural area and of the parents‟ knowledge. The perspectives of the youth sometimes are articulated with the project of this study or with the project of the land. But these projects are shown incert because not all of them have condition to make them available. The analysis of the reports revealed that the particularity of the pedagogic experience of the “CFR” on the formation from the youth its the main tension point between the actors: the technic formation, either the social and policies one veiculated by the presence and orientation of the group. We identify signs of redimension of the youth‟s role which isn‟t only for they are inserted in the “CFR” but it is inserted in a dynamic of generational changeItem Acesso aberto (Open Access) Para além do alimento: inovações sociais em torno do açaí na comunidade ribeirinha Santo Ezequiel Moreno em Portel, Arquipélago do Marajó, Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-08-28) MORAES, Lucivando Barbosa de; SÁ, Tatiana Deane de Abreu; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2118741911414853; ASSIS, William Santos de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0188412611746531The dissertation addresses social innovations related to açaí agroextractivism in the riverside community Santo Ezequiel Moreno (SEM), municipality of Portel, Marajó archipelago, state of Pará. The objective of this research was to identify and analyze the main social innovations resulting from the agroextractivism of açaí in the SEM community, as well as their interrelations. The method used was the case study method, and the data were collected with the participation of the riverside populations following stages of the research and had qualitative and quantitative analyses described in the form of systematization. Four social innovations were identified in the SEM community according to the cut-off proposed in the research, which are interconnected through mutual help from the community facilitated by the self-management of all of them, in addition, they present the Acai Solidarity Fund (FSA) as a basic social innovation due to the construction process that aroused greater organization and cooperation among the Community. The food profile of the community is common to the identity of riverines in the region, but deserves special attention to curb the insertion of industrialized and superprocessed foods that have been incorporated into the diet, due to the increase in income, associated with açaí, and the continuous access to the urban context of the city of Portel, opposing the local food culture and affecting , thus the food sovereignty of the community.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Trajetórias e concepções do cooperativismo camponês no nordeste paraense(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-05-06) ROCHA, André Carlos de Oliveira; SABLAYROLLES, Philippe Jean Louis; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7201576326250482; ASSIS, William Santos de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0188412611746531The cooperativism emerged as an alternative to capitalism. In Brazil, two trends have developed, one traditional/business and one popular/solidarity.It is asked: what factors influence the trajectory of a peasant cooperative, its conceptions, contradictions and novelties, considering whether they tend towards a logic of traditional cooperativism or popular cooperativism? The general objective was to analyze the conceptions, contradictions and novelties of the peasant cooperative movement. The research was of the quantitative and qualitative type, with an inductive approach, with a quantitative study of 14 cooperatives and deepened in the case study of three of them, analyzing the categories: work, management, solidarity and emancipation. As instruments of data collection, there are historical interviews, semi-structured interviews, objective questionnaire, timeline, direct observation, documentary and bibliographic research and photographs. Data analysis was carried out by systematization and horizontal and vertical analysis of the interviews, based on hermeneutics-dialectics. In Pará, the impetus for cooperativism took place during the military dictatorship. During the 1990s, NGOs took up work with popular cooperatives, and OCB had a focus on credit unions and the metropolitan region of Belém, only after 2015 to focus on the agricultural sector and cooperatives linked to family farming. The diagnosis made shows that peasant cooperatives in the studied regions present the majority of cooperatives without salaried workers, half have agribusiness, more than half participate in fairs and marketing networks, more than three quarters of them trade with non-members, all it holds a general assembly and board meetings, solidarity actions with communities are not prioritized, intercooperation is carried out by almost all cooperatives. nd in the agribusiness, by the working partners. It is concluded that the cooperatives in the region are designed to solve an economic problem, of income improvement from the commercialization of agricultural products. When linked to the union struggle, a class debate is added. Contradictions appear in their practices, either in relation to the exchange value of work overlapping its use value, or in representative democracy taking the place of the participation of the partners, or even, in the erasure of the value of solidarity.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Transição agroecológica: reflexões a partir de agroecossistemas de camponeses agroextrativistas na Amazônia numa perspectiva política(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-02-26) AZEVEDO, Hueliton Pereira; SOUSA, Romier da Paixão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4322101637185188; ASSIS, William Santos de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0188412611746531This dissertation deals with the agroecological transition in the context of agroecosystems of agroextractivist peasants in the Amazon. This issue has generated academic controversies and important political challenges for the agroecological movement. The research sought to contribute to the deepening of this debate through the analysis of agroecosystems based on the contributions of political agroecology based on the articulation between political ecology, common resources theory and the systemic approach. The results reveal the necessity of the agroecological transition due to the crisis of the traditional management of the agroecosystems of the agroextractivist peasants.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A última peça do mosaico das unidades de conservação da Terra do Meio - Pará- Brasil: o processo de criação da Reserva Extrativista do Médio Xingu(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009) SILVA, Tarcísio Feitosa da; ASSIS, William Santos de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0188412611746531In recent decades, the Amazon region has been drawing attention for its biodiversity potential and for the presence of traditional populations that use natural resources with a low impact on the ecosystem. Because of the importance of biodiversity, the rise in deforestation, and the encroachment on public lands (including "land-grabbing"), the government supported by NGOs, has proposed the creation of conservation units in large blocks. A study on the process of creating the Extractive Reserve of Rio Xingu, in Altamira, Pará is addressing the occupation of the Xingu River basin, colonization, the presence of indigenous peoples, "land grabbing" of public lands, and the description of non-governmental and governmental work for the creation of extractive reserves and protected territories for the traditional population. Conflicts between the government and the riparian (traditional river-dwelling) communities arise because the governmentadjudicates protected areas that are used by riparian communities for their livelihoods . The results of the research indicate that there is a need to generate knowledge and a constant dialogue with local communities before proposing an ecological intervention. The study also shows that ecological intervention reduces land grabbing, deforestation and violence against local communities. Lastly, the study proposes the creation of a mechanism to protect territories where there is a presence of traditional populations, which guarantees the population the use of natural resources for an indefinite period until the government designates the land for a particular use. The studies were conducted in a Masters Program in Family Farming and Sustainable Development at the Amazon Center for Agrarian Sciences and Rural Development at the Federal University of Pará.
