Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Ativação do potencial bioeconômico das plantas medicinais amazônicas: uma proposta para Marapanim-PA à luz das experiências coletivas da etnofarmácia(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-05-19) PINHEIRO, Ailton Castro; VASCONCELLOS SOBRINHO, Mário; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7843288526039148; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6489-219X; BARBOSA, Wagner Luiz Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1372405563294070; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2421-8245The objective of this work is to participate in actions in the area of phytotherapy in Marapanim- PA, to help project the structuring of the Local Productive Arrangement of Phytotherapy, provided for in the Municipal Phytotherapy Law of the municipality and, with this, contribute to the development of Bioeconomy in Pará Amazon, in the perspective of sustainable territorial development. For this, the following starting question was adopted: how to structure a bioeconomic APL of herbal medicines in Marapanim-PA to improve the quality of life of social actors? As a starting theoretical approach, sustainable territorial development was chosen, specifically, the relationship between territorial heritage and specific resource that, when confronted with the empirical dynamics of Marapanim-PA, needed new interdisciplinary connections, until it was consolidated in the proposition of the concept system: Territorial Social Innovation. The research has an interdisciplinary theoretical approach and is classified as an action research. Data collection took place through bibliographic research, documentary research and participant observation. Data were analyzed using the analytical instruments derived from the analysis model: a diagnosis and two projections. The results of the analytical process indicate that the heritage of Marapanim-PA has potential factors for structuring a bioeconomic cluster of herbal medicines; however, the biggest obstacle is the lack of participation of local actors in the collective action of territorial development conducted by Ethnopharmacy. This immobilization of local actors occurs due to the existence of territorial liabilities in the territorial heritage, such as little confidence and fiscal problems. As a technological result, the thesis generated two products: a pilot project to assist in structuring the APL and a pilot action plan to contribute to the activation process.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Boas práticas na produção de fitoterápicos artesanais: estudo de caso no grupo erva vida de Marapanim, estado do Pará-br.(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-12-14) LEAL, Felipe Salomão Valente; LOPES, Luis Otávio do Canto; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1013147545099173; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6209-9646; BARBOSA, Wagner Luiz Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1372405563294070; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2421-8245In a multicultural country like Brazil, with an extensive and diverse flora, different specific human groups still prepare artisanal herbal medicines based on predominantly empirical knowledge such groups are considered to possess the necessary wisdom for this purpose. These communities apply this wisdom as an effective and accessible alternative to treat their illnesses, associating it with medicinal plants. Despite being ancient, phytotherapy is still actively expanding in modern society, considering the significant need for more accessible therapeutic options. However, to guarantee the quality and safety of these herbal medicines produced by hand, procedures that reflect Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are necessary. Thus, the general objective of this work was to understand the regulation of herbal medicine production to propose adequate and appropriate operational procedures for the qualified production of artisanal herbal medicines by community organizations. To this end, a case study was carried out with the Erva Vida group in Marapanim/PA to understand the knowledge involved in the artisanal production of herbal medicines. Bibliographical research was performed to understand, analyze, and interpret the official regulations and to evaluate the elements contained in the regulatory instruments for good production practices that can be introduced in the manufacture of herbal medicines by the community adapting it without distorting the artisanal nature of the process. After these steps and, based on the results obtained, two technological products were developed and proposed as guidance instruments: the “Roadmap for evaluating the hygienic-sanitary conditions of good manufacturing practices in the artisanal production of herbal medicines” more technical, and the “Printbook for the application of Good Manufacturing Practices in artisanal production establishments of artisanal herbal medicines” with more didactic characteristics. The first product was applied to the Erva Vida group, and the results were quantified and subsequently analyzed qualitatively to construct the second product. Finally, implementing elements of good manufacturing practices is proposed to contribute to the continuity and traditionality of this production, incorporating elements that can make its products safer and more effective without eroding the cultural characteristics of the artisanal production group.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Conhecimento e uso de plantas medicinais nas comunidades de uma unidade de conservação: uma contribuição para a gestão da APA Algodoal-Maiandeua(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-08-24) MONTEIRO, Márcia Joana Souza; BARBOSA, Wagner Luiz Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1372405563294070This work aims at the proposal to contribute for the environmental management of Environmental Protection Area Algodoal-Maiandeua, by cultural record and appreciation of the local knowledge. This consideration is in order to provide systematic information on the uses and knowledge of medicinal plants for inclusion in the management plan and encourage sustainable use of natural resources by emphasizing the importance of recognizing these practices, as well as in official inclusion of medicinal plants for health care the local population and in the same direction for suggesting Policy of Medicinal Plants and Herbal Medicines (PNPMF) in such place. So, data collection focused qualitative methodology, because the quest for knowledge about man and his life was thus adopted a methodology informed by a theory about the very nature of man. Data collection emphasizes the qualitative methodology because the pursuit of knowledge about man and his life to take into account a certain methodology consistent with its nature. Moreover, several methods are adopted, with emphasis on observation and interview, the latter aiming to combine a degree of quantification from observation. As a tool was used semi-structured forms, applied by the Community Health Agents (CHA), activity implemented after training on ethnopharmacy and involving the active participation of communities. Literature searches were also performed in order to obtain the medicinal species already cataloged in previous surveys. The survey was conducted involving the four villages that form the APA Algodoal-Maiandeua (Algodoal, Camboinha, Fortalezinha and Mocooca). The answers lead to the achievement of objectives, providing information on medicinal plants and local knowledge related with them, and offering contributions regarding the management of conservation units for sustainable use.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Desenvolvimento local sustentável como liberdade: uma experiência de planejamento estratégico do Grupo de Mulheres Erva Vida(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-07-25) SILVA, Cleber Gomes da; BARBOSA, Wagner Luiz Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1372405563294070This dissertation titled Sustainable Local Development as Freedom: A Strategic Planning Experience of women group Herb Life has as main objective to analyze the prospections arising freedom in the process of local sustainable development. Underpins the theory is the appropriation of the concept of Instrumental Freedoms (FI's), discussed by Amartya Sen (2000). Are both the end and the middle of the development process. Intertwine and become stronger as they are reached. These instrumental freedoms were called political freedom, economic facilities, social opportunities; transparency and Guarantees and Measures ensurig social protection and security. To achieve the results of this research, we observed the internal and external aspects of a social organization and analysis of the prospects of removing restrictions on such freedoms, from an experience of strategic planning conducted by the group of women Herb Life in Marapanim (PA). The group was selected from an action of solidarity economy, developed by Etnofarmácia laboratory, the Center for Environment UFPa with a women's quiet neighborhood in the district of Marudá in Marapanim (PA) involved in the production of medicines craft. Considering the results of this research, the products are direct from the drafting of the strategic planning group and produce a guidance manual for facilitators of local planning. These products may contribute indirectly to improving public policies to local sustainable development in the Amazon region, contributing, in general, directly in the tools for formulating proposals for natural resource management.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Diretrizes para a criação de um arranjo produtivo local de plantas medicinais e fitoterápicos em Marapanim-PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-04-04) PINHEIRO, Ailton Castro; VASCONCELLOS SOBRINHO, Mário; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7843288526039148; BARBOSA, Wagner Luiz Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1372405563294070In 2006, Brazil started its national policy of medicinal plants and phytomedicines, which includes 17 guidelines to rule actions in different segments of the phytotherapy. In 2008, to implement this policy a program was organized, which links four of these guidelines to specific actions in phytotherapy, based on traditional and popular knowledge and familiar agriculture, to determine that the Ministries involved develop actions in an integrated way, in order to enable production, and marketing, by the community itself. In 2012, the Health Ministry (HS) begun financing the pharmaceutical assistance with medicinal plants and phytomedicines, being the Local Productive Arrangement (LPA) one of the available instruments. In Amazonian State Pará, from 2012 to 2017, only four municipalities applied, and have approved, such projects by the Ministry of Health. The Municipality of Marapanim (PA) has a great ethnopharmaceutical potential, with emphasis on the work of a group of women, who practice the popular phytotherapy for more than 20 years, based on the knowledge of their ancestors. They produce handcrafted remedies combining popular knowledge with technical knowledge, in partnership with the Laboratory of Ethnopharmacy of the Nucleus of Environment of the Federal University of Pará (LAEF/ NUMA/UFPA). In this context, the aim of this work is to elaborate, and propose, guidelines to build a Local Productive Arrangement in Marapanim that can allow the insertion of phytomedicines used in folk phytotherapy in the institutional market, after a technical adequation, and thereby contributing to the territorial and endogenous development of the municipality. In order to reach this objective, a bibliographic survey was carried out based on dissertations written by members of the LAEF/NUMA/UFPA, whose set compose an important diagnosis of the reality of local herbal phytotherapy. This bibliographic survey was complemented by a documentary research in the Transparency Portal of the municipality; interviews with the Marapanim healers and participation in LAEF/NUMA/UFPA actions in favor of the valorization of local phytotherapy; study about some APL experiences, financed by MS and the analysis of the technical regulation and as well of the financial suport destined to phytotherapy. The analysis of these data was performed using the theoretical framework of territorial and endogenous development, of the National Policy and National Program of Medicinal Plants and Phytomedicine, and of the traditional and popular knowledge. As a result, this work proposes eleven guidelines for building an APL involving: initial articulation for the construction of an APL project; articulation along the implementation of the APL, training; sowing of medicinal plants, production of phytomedicine; public -private partnership for marketing in the institutional market; marketing in the private market; dispensing in the SUS; planning and budget execution of fund-to-fund resource; institutionalization of a municipal phytotherapy program, and proposal of a flow chart for APL governance. The following products were also generated: a project model to obtain resource from MS for financing an APL and a new redaction of the administrative regulation of MS nº 1,555 / 2013.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O espaço de produção de remédios artesanais, a relação das erveiras com ele e seu melhoramento: uma experiência do Grupo “Erva Vida”(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-12-28) CARDOSO, Ana Celia Penaforte; MENDES, Ronaldo Lopes Rodrigues; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3384080521072847; BARBOSA, Wagner Luiz Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1372405563294070This work presents an architectural proposal for the adaptation of the “Erva Vida” Space, located in the Bairro do Sossego in Marapanim, Pará, where handmade herbal remedies are produced. The proposal aims to improve building facilities, the organization and systematization of handling activities, with the aim of obtaining handmade phytomedicines with better quality, from the preparation of the ingredients to the final product, and commercialization. The work was developed between 2018 and 2020, based on field research, when conversations, photographic records and measurements of the built spaces were performed, and sought to listen and consider the opinion, and observe the needs of the herbalist women who produce the handmade medicines. Along this path, tales and life stories were collected, which enabled the insertion into the universe that makes up the work of these women, and thus, it was possible to better understand the productive chain of handmade phytomedicines and the relationship that herbalist women establish with the house, as well as the significant role of the group for their work and for their lives, which use ancestral knowledge to carry out their work. Following the defined methodological path, the bibliography and documentation on the Policy on Medicinal Plants and Phytotherapics, established by Resolution of the Collegiate Board nº 13/2013 - ANVISA / MS, and the respective Program were analyzed. These documents provide guidelines and criteria for preparing herbal medicines, observing the Good Manufacturing Practices for Traditional Herbal Products, regulated by RDC nº 301/2019, which was changed by RDC nº 388/2020. The theoretical perspective of the research was based on the reflections of Buarque (2008), Vasconcellos (2013) and Diegues (1996), who discuss community development and local development, with historical information on the ancient botanicals, developed by Edler (2006). The discussion in the scope of architecture was based on the reflections of Bestetti (2014), on the concept of ambience and Yi-fu Tuan (2013), which conceptualizes space and place. Finally, an architectural adaptation project was developed for the “Erva Vida” Space, a building built twenty-three (23) years ago, undergoing rare renovations in this period. The proposed architectural adaptation project therefore provided improvements in the production space, which includes the laboratory, the herb drying and the manipulation rooms. This work seeks to contribute for discussions and reflections on architecture and the activities developed by the “Erva vida” Group as a form of cultural resistance, financial independence, and local development.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Etnofarmácia na ilha de Cotijuba(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-11-04) MAIA, Fernando Luiz Costa; BARBOSA, Wagner Luiz Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1372405563294070The growing use of herbal and home remedies can take place through technological advances and the obvious growing search for less aggressive therapies. This paper reflects on the safe and effective herbal and home remedies that represent real alternatives to lack of access to so-called synthetic allopathic drugs are not available, and especially the role that compliance with pharmaceutical care to these populations in order to better understand its use as a cultural trait ingrained in their daily lives, beliefs and experiences. Discusses the importance of Etnopharmacy because it allows us to access ancient knowledge about medicinal plants, learning about the relationships that develop between people or social groups with home remedies. And yet, as it provides the necessary correlation between the use of home remedies and their possible intoxications and side effects, the prospect of moving to pharmacovigilance. The survey etnofarmacêutico, with users of SUS on the island of Cotijuba, takes place through semi-structured interviews, to determine the disease profile of territory, from the data collection, selection of ACS, and systematic preparation of interviewers and data analysis. During the survey the users cited about 170 plant species used for a variety of problems. Of these 10 species stands out as being the most cited, according to the relative frequency of alleged use of each species for a given offense (FRAPS). With this enabled it to build a proposed phytotherapeutic memento of the island. The paper finally discusses the consolidation of PNPMF and PNPIC as well as the need to implement the PEPMF, the importance of the Internal Commission of Pharmacy and Phytotherapy and the possibility of preparing a business plan for the island, on degraded or degradation.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Fitoterapia popular do bairro do Sossego distrito de Marudá-Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-03-07) FLOR, Alessandra Simone Santos de Oliveira; BARBOSA, Wagner Luiz Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1372405563294070In the Amazon medicinal plants are a mare resource for the treatment of various diseases, given the cultural context, access, reliability and low cost compared to industrial medicine. This context, is the Marudá District, in the municipality of Marapanim distant 160 km from the Belém state of Pará, where it is common to use medicinal plants to treat health problems. In Brazil has shown several surveys of plant species used in folk phytotherapy of a human group, applying methodologies such as ethnobotany and etnopharmacy to inventory the plant species. This work aims to investigate the practice of folk herbal medicine by the residents of the Quiet neighborhood, including a group of women called Herb Life Marudá District state of Pará, highlighting the importance of medicinal plants for this human group in cultural, economic and environmental terms. For this we carried out in the ethnopharmaceutical survey medicinal plants used by local people. To perform the work of 18 popular herbal medicine practitioners who were nominated by the community’s itself in Quiet Neighborhood (holders of knowledge about medicinal plants people) were interviewed following the "Snow Ball" technique. Women's Group Life Herb, being also in possession of knowledge on medicinal plants were also interviewed. Were cited 96 ethnospecies for medical, according to informants, they are distributed in 44 families, highlighting the Lamiaceae with 11 ethnospecies (11,70%) and Asteraceae, with 7 ethnospecies (7,44%). The most cited grievance is fever, treated with Anador plant having the highest relative frequency of use claim (FRAPS), 100% of the votes, followed with 88% of rue to treat headache. These two plants have potential for more drug to validate their claims folk usage studies. This paper reports the popular wisdom about folk herbal medicine practiced in Quiet neighborhood, Marudá - Marapanim, PA and provides insights for future projects for the development of place productive arrangements with herbal medicines and the use of drugs prepared by Herb Life Group at attention basic health thus inducing the District Place Development in Marudá.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Fitoterapia popular: uma abordagem sobre a etnotoxicologia das práticas fitoterápicas no distrito de Marudá – Marapanim/Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-11-25) OLIVEIRA, Nayana Véras Jardim de; BARBOSA, Wagner Luiz Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1372405563294070The dissertation propose the expansion of the existent theoretical outline about the medicinal plants amid the Amazon regional context, from the social actors’ perception related to the phytotherapy practice in the studied area, Marudá’s District (Marapanim – Pará). Specifically, it discusses the proposal of a new approach, the ethnotoxicology, for the capture and evaluation of data related to the undesired effects attributed to the use of the phytotherapic. The specific goals were: to raise ethnotoxicological data related to phytoterapy’s practice, to systematize the information related to medicinal plants, which were mentioned by the interviewed groups, to describe the security profile for the phytotherapy that is practiced in Marudá from the Ethnotoxicology and to elaborate a VadeMecum to the referred medicinal plants, in conjunction with previous academic productions. The information was collected from field interviews made with a group of 10 people shared three groups: local nurses, herb women from the group Life’s Herb and local users and tourists. In this work, the guiding proposal points a real analysis, by a relatively new side, which interlines the data collect in the phytotherapy practitioner’s perception, taking in consideration the reality in which each individual is inserted. The dissertation emerges the interviewed group perception about the associated risks to the indiscriminated phytotherapy practice, in order to contribute to the expansion of the theoretical outline related to the theme, consolidation of a safe praxis and action’s effectuation, within the public politics of health attention, with respect to the use of plants as a therapeutic resource; therefore promoting the safe phytotherapy development not only in Marudá’s area, but also in other communities that develop similar activities.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Fitoterapia solidária - Uma proposta sustentável para a atenção básica em saúde e o desenvolvimento local(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-10-11) SILVA JÚNIOR, Miguel Rodrigues da; BARBOSA, Wagner Luiz Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1372405563294070According to the World Health Organization (WHO), medications are essential tools for health care. This importance is recognized by the Brazilian government, which in Law 8080 stipulates that ensure integrated care, including pharmaceuticals, composes an explicit function of the Unified Health System (SUS). However, although they constitute the greatest advance in health, access to medicines is extremely polarized due to multiple factors, among which we emphasize in this study the high prices charged by the pharmaceutical industry - which anchored the capitalist paradigm of "development", focuses medicines according to economic power of individuals and nations. As a way to overcome this problem that affects all countries, especially developing ones, WHO, since the Alma-Ata in 1978, has strongly recommended the inclusion of herbal medicine systems health officials of its member members, in order to increase people's access to resources pharmacists effective, safe and quality. In this sense, among other initiatives, the Brazilian government implemented the National Policy on Medicinal Plants and Herbs (PNPMF), which, in our view, search, basically, increase access to medicinal plants and herbal medicines from the increased production of these treatment options, and current pharmaceutical capitalists as a driving force in this process. However, this study highlights that increase the production of medicinal plants and herbal medicines does not necessarily guarantee increased access in a perspective of universality, comprehensiveness and equity, so little is that production is concentrated in existing pharmaceutical companies private, whether they national or international. Thus, while pointing out some of the possible socio-economic impacts related to the production of medicinal plants and herbal medicines primarily in capitalist ventures, this study back to discuss the production of these therapeutic options, too, on developments that integrate the Solidarity Economy - that by the way, originated the term Phytotherapy Solidarity, coined in this study - as an alternative aimed to provide both increased access to medicinal plants and herbal medicines, as the Local Development, pointing to local actors not only as suppliers of raw materials for larger pharmaceutical companies, as advocates implicitly PNPMF, but also finished products to the NHS and to the general population - in a perspective of achieving more affordable. Finally, take as an example the city of Para-Igarapé Miri as potential for the development of herbal products (initially, herbal tampered with) in accordance with the ideals of solidarity phytotherapy - highlighting the advantages and obstacles presented by this municipality, well as possible ways to mitigate them. So, ultimately, this paper aims to contribute in the process of decision making of public managers and other professionals involved with PNPMF regarding sustainable development chain and production arrangements of medicinal plants and herbal medicines, as well as the insertion process these therapeutic options in SUS, to harmonize national economic interests with the therapeutic needs of the brazilian population.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A influência da utilização de plantas medicinais nos custos do tratamento de agravos atendidos pela assistência farmacêutica básica(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-10-26) RÉCIO, Eveline de Jesus Pereira; BARBOSA, Wagner Luiz Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1372405563294070The use of medicinal plants for the treatment of the ailments of health is disseminated not only in the rural areas but also in the urban areas of the Brazilian territory. The economic meaning of these medicinal plants, used in the attendance of the basic health needs, for the home economics of the socially vulnerable part of the population, is still poorly investigated. Many plant’s species are commercialized in the city of Belem by herbalists in markets and open fairs of the city. This article has as objective analyze in what extent the insertion of the use of medicinal plant minimizes the costs of the treatments of injuries treated by the Assistencia Farmaceutica na Atencao Basica (Pharmaceutical Assistance in the Basic Attention). To achieve this objective, it was realized a study, of exploratory nature, by means of application of questionnaires, using the method of sampling, defined by non-probabilistic criteria, in the district of Jurunas, with support in the Unidade de Saude Radional II (Health Unit Radional II), located in the metropolitan region of Belem, Para. It was made a survey of informations regarding the focus of this study in the Centro de Referencia de Tratamento Natural (Natural Treatment Reference Center - CRTN), located in the city of Macapa, that already utilizes the medicinal plants as a therapeutic resource. In the result of the field research in the district of Jurunas it was verified that approximately 50% of the interviewed practice the self-medication with medicinal plants, listed in the RDC nº 10/ANVISA, been needed, however, correct orientation for its growth and therapeutic use. The comparison between expenses with synthetic medicines in the treatment of the symptoms of five diseases that frequently occur in district of Jurunas and those resultants of the use of medicinal plants, for the same symptoms, reveals a reduction in the expenses for treatments based on medicinal plants. In conclusion, it can be inferred that this reduction represents a saving of resources that the user and the system leave to expend when utilizes the medicinal plants.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Metodologias ativas sobre a fitoterapia popular para a educação ambiental: aplicação em escolas de Igarapé Miri-PA(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-03-30) MACIEL, Raimunda Gomes; MANESCHY, Rosana Quaresma; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5914095913079907; BARBOSA, Wagner Luiz Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1372405563294070The use of home remedies prepared with medicinal plants is common among traditional communities, especially in regions of low economic development or in rural areas, where the population's difficulty in accessing industrialized medicines, determines the treatment of their diseases using medicinal herbal preparations. An example of these applications is the use of herbal teas, a common practice in indigenous, cabocla, riverside, rubber tappers, quilombola, fishing communities, small farmers and extractivistas. However, it is essential that the use of these resources and associated knowledge takes place in a safe and sustainable way. In Brazil, environmental education has been implemented in the school curricula of the Ministry of Education since 2012, at all educational levels. This work aims to develop instruments of active methodology, in the form of accessible and low-cost materials, to encourage students to discuss medicinal plants and, based on the discussion, promote the valorization of popular knowledge about the use of medicinal plants in human health care and the environment. After applying questionnaires to the research participants, including students and residents, it was observed that 85% of them have a cell phone, which will facilitate the learning, use and dissemination of these methodological instruments. The majority (70%) of the interviewed students are in the age group of 20 and 30 years, which can contribute to arouse interest in the application. With the interviews, it can be seen that the use of medicinal plants is more frequent among people of advanced adult age, having received a strong influence from ancient customs and traditions. Among the interviewees who reported having knowledge about medicinal plants, it was possible to observe that the majority are female, since they are responsible for the preparation of food and home remedies and for the care of vegetable gardens. It was emphasized that the practice of active methodologies within schools, requires the involvement not only of teachers, with students, but also the participation of the entire community around the school environment. The methodological instruments developed (card games, gymkhana, vegetable gardens and a specific application) were donated to public elementary and high schools in the riverside region of the municipality of Igarapé Miri.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Papel das plantas medicinais na questão de gênero dentre as mulheres pescadoras-erveiras do espaço Erva Vida Sossego/Marudá/Marapanim(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-06-22) MONTEIRO, Maurícia Melo; BARBOSA, Wagner Luiz Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1372405563294070Work from the perspective of the deployment option of herbal therapy in the Health System in the village of Marudá, Marapanim municipality on the northeast coast of Pará, from experience in ethnopharmacy and ethnomedicine of women's group Herb Life, formed by women that before working with phytotherapeutic products were artisanal fishers, discerned a universe that pervades through the constraints imposed by the gender issue, by persistence, despite the limitations, of if remaining united until achieve autonomy, that whether configured in the production and marketing of medicines produced with medicinal plants, based on popular knowledge ancestrally transmitted by oral tradition and was revitalized by these women. With the endorsement, enthusiasm and cooperation of the herbalists-fishers, the experience of group Herb Life was worked as a case study, using qualitative survey techniques such as participant observation and chatting groups during the field research that lasted for 15 months. It was Traced a bias, that converses with the situation of fisherwoman (artisanal fishing) and the popular knowledge about use medicinal plants as medicine. Theoretical reference sought to pay tribute to the good bibliography the authors of de Amazon on the thematic protagonists, that it was possible observed that gender issue in artisanal fisheries bothers and has being studied by the Academy, therefore, as is clear in reading the work done in the Amazon that the use of medicinal plants is a learning alive and linked to riverside or coastal communities Amazonian. Conclusion of the dissertation went to meet the proposed goal know the experience of herbalists-fishers of the group herb life with medicinal plants by generating sufficient information to compose a phytotherapic mementum, necessary for the inclusion of the medicinal plants as therapy option in the SUS of Marudá and understand the process of emancipation of women herbalists-fishers, coming from the knowledge appropriate about the handling and use of medicinal plants.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Plantas medicinais e fitoterápicos no município de Marapanim-PA: qualificação da atenção básica e desenvolvimento local(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-08-28) SANTOS JÚNIOR, Roque Flor dos; BARBOSA, Wagner Luiz Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1372405563294070Medicinal plants in the Amazon have always had an important role, because they are used as one of the major therapeutic resources in disease treatments. The city of Marapanim-PA is 161 Km from the State capital of Pará and is characterized by presenting, through information obtained by its inhabitants, great affinity with the use of medicinal plants as a therapeutic option. In Brazil, there are several consolidated experiences of municipal programs and projects of use of medicinal plants as a complementary practice in the Unified National Health System (SUS), however in Marapanim-PA, still no program for insertion of this therapeutic resource in the basic attention in health. This work aims to outline the profile of the users of the basic attention to health, noting the frequency of use of medicinal plants and their claims, in addition to emphasizing the importance of medicinal plants while local resource of community health. This work consisted on information survey in two phases: the first held interviews with healthcare professionals in primary care, ending with interviews with users. Were collected informations from groups, transformed into data, charts and tables, summarizing the opinion of 185 people, being 150 users and 35 health professionals. The results of the interviews revealed that all users were in favour of the inclusion of medicinal plants in the primary health care units, this confirmation was also retrieved from health professionals, with the exception of dentists due to their lack of knowledge about herbal medicines, their effectiveness and toxicity. Another important work is the expectation of all respondents for the implementation of a Municipal Program of Medicinal Plants and Phytotherapeutics. This work revealed that medicinal plants are relevant in the daily lives of users of public health services as a therapeutic resource. This work brings as a contribution to the process a procedures booklet with guidelines that will serve as an initial step for the development of a productive chain in the field of medicinal plants in the city.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Plantas medicinais e tecnologias sociais para o desenvolvimento local na Amazônia: a experiência do estado do Amapá(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-08-25) SOUZA, Armando Eduardo de; VASCONCELLOS SOBRINHO, Mário; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7843288526039148; BARBOSA, Wagner Luiz Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1372405563294070This paper aims to point out the social, economic and environmental influences of Medicinal Plants and Herbal Medicine, while Social Technologies, to local development in the Amazon from local experiences of the Amapá State. The hypothesis of the research is based on the premise that the Medicinal Plants and Herbal Medicine not only contribute to the solution of problems related to health, but also improve the economic, social and environmental conditions of local communities in the Amazon. In the pharmaceutical industry, technological advancement has achieved good results in the prevention and treatment of various diseases contributing to the reduction of problems related to health in many countries, on the other hand, some local communities are not getting all the benefits from advances in pharmaceutical industry . In this sense, the World Health Organization has encouraged countries to develop public policies to the use of traditional medicine and other traditional practices in health as a treatment option in the public system.
