Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estimativa da produção de uma lavoura através de imagens digitais capturadas por veículo aéreo não tripulado (VANT)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-10-08) SEREJO, Gerson Lima; GOMES, Ana Claudia da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9898138854277399; SANTOS, Viviane Almeida dos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1489376127395764The use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) is becoming an important accessible tool for small to medium sized agribusiness. Its application supports the execution of complex and laborious activities, as well as promotes new studies and challenges for the field to assist the farmer's decision making. The County of Tucuruí, in the State of Pará Brazil, is part of a region that concentrates a great amount of rural properties characterized by being of family agriculture. The objective of this work is to present an exploratory study for applying steps of Digital Image Processing (DIP) and Computational Vision (CV) in images captured by a UAV to obtain the quantification of cassava seedlings and, consequently, harvest of this crop in a farm of the county. The scientific contribution of this study corresponds to the results obtained from the application of 4 vegetation indices: ExG, ExR, (ExG-ExR) and MaxG. The MaxG index presented the best result, counting 91% of the seedlings, in the best case, with an accuracy of 70%. The ExR index was more appropriate for counting the seedlings in initial stages of germination. The index (ExG-ExR) allowed the estimation with unsupervised thresholding, which improves the development of CV systems for this purpose. The ExG index surprised us with the lowest performance for the studied context, counting 58% of the seedlings, in the worst case, with accuracy of 73%. As practical contributions to the farmer, this study made it possible to raise awareness of the importance of forecasting the harvest to better plan the negotiation of production, later plantings and the search for resources to increase the mechanized area of the crop. Further indepth research needs to be conducted to confirm these findings.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Uma abordagem sistêmica para apoio à realização de diagnóstico inicial de avaliação do MPS.BR(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-12-17) BRABO, Silvia Mariana Furtado; OLIVEIRA, Sandro Ronaldo Bezerra; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2080791630485427Organizations that develop software in Brazil are investing more and more in improving their processes. Consequently, a methodology that is beyond the traditional teaching-learning methods is necessary, as students need different strategies that can increase their engagement. In this sense, the use of gamification techniques is a promising alternative to the positive results of their application in various areas, including education. In this scenario, digital games stand out. These can be classified into single and multiuser games. Given the above, this paper aims to compare the impact of the use of gamified environments in the teaching-learning process of computer programming logic between single-user and multi-user context. The study procedures were divided into three moments: systematic literature review, preparation of the experimental environment and performance of the experiments. The selected environment corresponds to the Code Combat game, with a modified version to integrate the multiuser features. The experiments were carried out with 38 students from a technical course integrated with high school. The data suggest an increased engagement of students who made use of the gamified environment that uses multiuser resources, but statistically, no significant learning differences were identified between the use of both types of resources.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Ostara: uma arquitetura de referência para coleta de dados em campo(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019) SOUZA, Marcos Felipe Ferreira Amazonas de; SANTOS, Viviane Almeida dos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1489376127395764Data collection is an important and recurring process for decision making, which is present in different areas. In general, there are several solutions developed to aid field data collection activities. However, such solutions focus on solving specific problems, causing a lack of uniformity in relation to basic characteristics belonging to the domain of data collection. To supply the need for a domain knowledge repository this work proposed the development of a reference architecture (RA) that serves as a model for the construction of systems that bellong to the data collection domain model and the subdomain of mobile data collection. In order to elaborate the proposed reference architecture, the ProSA-RA process was used, this process helps the iterative and incremental development of reference architectures. This process is represented in four steps, which aim to structure the development of reference architectures. After the elaboration of RA using the ProSARA process, we tried to instantiate an architectural prototype to be able to evaluate execution-time qualities belonging to the proposed RA. The architectural prototype was modeled based on the business requirements of the "Banco de Germoplasma" project maintained by the Eletrobras Eletronorte Agency. This project seeks to maintain information regarding animal and botanic species of the Tucuruí - PA region. The instantiated and implemented architectural portion constitutes a tool for phenological monitoring of the botanical species of the project. The evaluation of the architectural prototype performed with the domain experts demonstrated runtime-related qualities such as performance, security, functionality and usability. However, the achievements of further evaluations to obtain quality metrics are necessary, such as the evaluation of development quality elements such as modifiability, portability, integrability and interoperability.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Um modelo bayesiano que auxilia na identificação de alunos com dificuldades na aprendizagem de programação de computadores(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-05-10) CAMPOS, Willys do Socorro Almeida de; TEIXEIRA, Otávio Noura; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5784356232477760; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7860-5996; REIS, Rodrigo Quites; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9839778710074372; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3657-4175The learning of computer programming subjects has always brought challenges to any class of computer students, due to the difficulties linked to its use. This scenario greatly contributes to the demotivation of the student and, thus, the increased dropout of courses. Generally, teachers who work in these disciplines have signs about which students will become good programmers, but it is difficult to detect which need help in the learning process. This article proposes the use of a Bayesian model that helps in the identification of students with difficulties in the computer programming subjects. The research uses a mixed approach, quantitative and qualitative. An experiment, with an informal character, was carried out with students who were studying programming subjects. This set of students was presented to five specialist teachers in order to identify which ones would need help with the learning of programming. The same set was presented to the Bayesian model. The results showed that the model can help in the identification of students who present difficulties, with the potential to contribute to the learning process.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Quimivox mobile 2.0: desenvolvimento de ferramenta no ensino da tabela periódica e distribuição eletrônica aos deficientes visuais utilizando dispositivos móveis(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-05-23) OLIVEIRA, Alex Santos de; FERREIRA, João Elias Vidueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8018691254585785; MERLIN, Bruno; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7336467549495208Technological advancement has helped the integration of the visually impaired by increasing access to education. This paper presents a proposal to update the application Quimivox Mobile, developed for Android devices, which presents a tool accessible to the visually impaired, giving access to periodic table of chemical elements via synthesis of Voice and commanded by global gestures that do not require pointing to specific elements of the interface. In order to enable vident/visually impaired collaboration, the application also provides visual returns. In addition to the numerical and organizational information provided by the periodic table, the Quimivox Mobile provides several explanatory and qualitative information regarding the: family, period, classification and main uses of the element. The application also adds accessible information about the distribution of electrons in layers and energy sublevels, based on the Linus Pauling diagram and analyzing the data obtained through the evaluation of the application. Consequently, the visually impaired may have greater autonomy in the study of the periodic table and the electronic distribution of the chemical elements when using the new application. Thus, a better teaching and learning of chemistry becomes possible, with equality in the use of technologies with accessibility techniques using mobile devices with touch screen and open source operating system.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Proposta e avaliação de um sistema assistivo para auxílio da pessoa com deficiência visual na seleção de produtos(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-05-24) SILVA, Andrei Luiz Demetrio e; MERLIN, Bruno; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7336467549495208; FÜLBER, Heleno; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5018616409948511The act of making purchases is seen as a simple task for most people. However, for someone with visual impairment it can mean something complex or even impossible to realize without the help of others. In order to overcome this barrier and enable the realization of the selection of products in an autonomous way by the visually impaired, the proposed system was developed. Using a microcontroller interconnected to a radio frequency sensor and an audio reproducer, an embedded system (coupled to a glove) was built, which together with a database query service made possible its implantation. Its use was evaluated by two groups of participants through the accomplishment of a case study set in a supermarket. The first group consisted only of visually impaired, while the second group was blind sighted participants, who were blindfolded to simulate newly acquired blindness. With the accomplishment of this work, it was possible for people with visual impairment to perform a product selection process autonomously, reaching a mean assertiveness index of 92.5%.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Protótipo de impressão de PCI usando laser, para prototipagem em laboratório(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-05-27) COSTA, Deriks Karlay Dias; CAVALCANTE, Renato Luz; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3533326577502100; GRANHEN, Ewerton Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7145304044863944In the last two decades the Laser Direct Imaging (LDI) has been extensively studied only with the galvanometric movement system, with focus for the industry. Which faces increasingly complex challenges such as the miniaturization of components and the high density of circuit interconnections. However, in electronics labs, the challenges come down to prototyping a quality printed circuit board (PCB). For this reason, this paper aims to present an alternative to facilitate the transfer of circuit design to PCB. Aiming to assist the prototyping of PCBs in electronics laboratories. For this purpose, an alternative was studied using the LDI with the Cartesian CNC (Computed Numerical Control) system of two axes. To test this alternative, a prototype was built for an exploratory case study, where tests were carried out to test capacities and performance levels. The tests were based on the ABNT NBR IEC 62326-4-1 standard, which is responsible for the detailed PCBs capability specification. The results were able to achieve under optimum conditions the minimum width of 0.082 mm for the track and 0.120 mm for the separation between the tracks. A good result compared to the average minimum width of the tracks manufactured by the national PCBs industries, which is 0.125 mm. With the results obtained with the prototype, it was clear that the use of the LDI with a two-axis Cartesian CNC drive system is effective for the transfer of images. It can support the prototyping and production of PCBs in electronics laboratories.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O uso de chatbots no atendimento de clientes de revenda por catálogo(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-05-28) GADELHA, Igor Bruno Liz; SANTOS, Viviane Almeida dos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1489376127395764; TEIXEIRA, Otávio Noura; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5784356232477760; http://orcid.org/0000-0002-7860-5996Increasingly, the presence of technologies that use artificial intelligence techniques are present in our daily lives, the development of systems and machines increasingly capable of performing tasks once performed by humans is increasingly present. Mapping takes place through the implantation of bands with different colors at strategic points, where each color group identifies the sector in which it is implanted. Once mapped, it will be possible to navigate the nvironment with the support of the cane equipped with an RGB sensor for color collection, a vibration motor for tactile feedback, and a microcontroller with Wi-Fi module to connect to the mobile device. According to the respective set of colors captured by the sensor, the user receives information corresponding to a location, route or object by voice. To verify the applicability, two maps were implanted, one in internal and one external environment. Functional evaluations were performed with the support of a group of volunteers who made the route using the device. As results, qualitative data were presented of the system functionalities, collected during the experiments, through observation of the behavior of the system and application of questionnaires to the users.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Um protótipo de software para simulação de sistemas multiagentes baseados na abordagem de Russell/Norvig e na teoria dos jogos(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-05-30) SANTOS, Adriano Augusto Addario dos; TEIXEIRA, Otávio Noura; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5784356232477760; http://orcid.org/0000-0002-7860-5996The basis for the development of artificial intelligence is based on a primordial concept - intelligent agents. Studying, understanding and improving the behavior of these autonomous entities are some of the motivations of this work. Understanding and improving the behavior of these autonomous entities are some of the motivations of this work, which seeks to present a software prototype, which enables the study of agent behaviors, using the structure proposed by Russell and Norvig and introducing a way of classifying the strategies of behaviors used in Prisoner's Dilemma games. It is used as a basis for Axelrod's computational tournaments in 1984, as well as other tournaments that took place in these more than 30 years of research into the Iterated Prisoner's Dilemma. As an integral part of this work, we used Vincent Knight's library, which features 242 behavior strategies implemented in Python. In addition to the library, 512 more strategies were added, thus forming a base of 754 strategies all implemented in Python. By uniting the field of artificial intelligence with game theory, the aim is to use the best of both areas for application in highly complex problem solving.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Ferramenta baseada em cuckoo filter para remoção de redundância em dados de sequenciadores de segunda geração (NGS - next generation sequencing)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-12-02) GAIA, Antonio Sérgio Cruz; VERAS, Adonney Allan de Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2201652617167877; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7227-0590The second-generation sequencing platforms, also known as NGS – Next Generation Sequencing, produce a great amount of data, which demands high complexity and computational cost in the processing of these data. These platforms generate duplicated reads that come from the preparation of the genomic library and are included in the amplification stage by PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction). This redundancy can increase the computational requirements and processing time of subsequent analyses (for instance, de novo assembly). To reduce the computational cost of theses analyses, it is necessary to remove these reads from the data set of the sequenced organism. In this work, we present the NGSReadsTreatment, a computational tool to remove duplicated reads in paired-end or single-end data sets. The input for NGSReadsTreatment consists of reads from any sequencing platform with same or different read lengths. Its engine uses a Cuckoo Filter probabilistic structure to identify and remove redundant readings. The identification is done by comparing the reads among themselves, this way, not any pre-requisite is necessary besides the reads set. The validation of the tool was carried out by using a set of real and simulated data. To assess the efficiency of the tool, it was compared to other tools of redundancy removal. The results indicate the efficiency of the NGSReadsTreatment, for it produced the best outcome, both in the number of redundancies removed and the use of memory, in all tests done. Developed in JAVA, the NGSReadsTreatment is compatible with UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems and has a version with a graphic interface to facilitate its use.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) T-Tátil: desenvolvimento de uma tecnologia assistiva para auxiliar pessoas com deficiência visual na leitura e interpretação de desenhos táteis(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-12-12) ZAMPROGNO, Leonardo Zani; FERREIRA, João Elias Vidueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8018691254585785; MERLIN, Bruno; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7336467549495208Graphic content, including images, drawings, schematics and maps, is effective in providing a considerable amount of information concentrated in a small space, allowing a better organization of data and information series so that they are easily understood. They are widely used in the teaching process at all levels of education. Naturally, visually impaired people do not have easy access to such contents. Other strategies are used by visually impaired people to access graphic contents, one of them is the use of tactile drawings that enable to explore graphic representations using the sensory touch system for this task. However, it is difficult for visually impaired people to be autonomous in reading and exploring tactile drawings usually needs the help of a sighted person to provide initial information, such as the general message conveyed by the tactile drawing, and to guide the individual in step-by-step reading. The absence of such a person may make it impossible or considerably difficult for visually impaired people to use tactile drawings. Assistive technologies have been developed to make it easier for visually impaired people to access graphic data and even to make displays more dynamic. In this paper we list some of the main assistive technologies that aim at helping visually impaired people to read and interpret tactile graphs using various forms of feedback for vision substitute sensory systems. After studying different strategies for exploring tactile designs adopted by visually impaired people, we proposed to develop an application for ordinary tablets exploring the benefit of multimodal interactions by overlaying tactile designs printed on touchscreens intended to assist the visually impaired people in reading tactile drawings. After confirming that interactions with current touchscreens devices are possible through the papers used to explore tactile designs superimposed on the screen. In a case of study, the application prototype was tested with three blind students demonstrating that the solution has a promising approach to improve exploration of tactile designs. It also raised improvement requirements. After the implementation of these improvements, a controlled experiment with 8 blind participants was performed to compare the exploration of tactile designs with braille subtitles with multimodal tactile designs, using the developed application, and to evaluate the application usability through a SUS (System Usability Scale) questionnaire. The results showed that the application has excellent usability, according to the participants, and that the task of tactile exploration is more enjoyable, easier and faster with multimodal tactile designs, demonstrating also a performance gain and improved understanding of tactile design, and at last that user satisfaction was higher when using the application.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Redes neurais convolucionais aplicadas à inspeção de componentes do vagão ferroviário(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-02-03) ROCHA, Rafael de Lima; GOMES, Ana Claudia da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9898138854277399; SILVA, Cleison Daniel; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1445401605385329; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8280-2928The railcar is one of the most important assets in a mining company, where tons of ore are transported daily by it, besides, the railcar can be used to transport people. Therefore, the inspection of defects in structural components of the railcar is a very important activity, making it possible to avoid problems in railway logistics, as well as to prevent accidents. The inspection task is performed visually by an operating technician who is exposed to accidents where the inspection is performed, in addition to the possibility of human error due to stress, fatigue, and others. The pad is a rail component analyzed in this work, where it is responsible for the primary suspension, a role that is important in the railcar dynamics. Thus, the purpose of this work is to use deep learning techniques, specifically convolutional neural networks (CNN) for the component inspection. CNN classifies the image of the structural component analyzed concerning the possible state it is in the railway, absent pad, undamaged pad, and damaged pad. Also, it intends to investigate the contribution of the component image in the frequency domain obtained through the magnitude and phase of the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) of the original image (spatial domain) in the CNN classification process. Histogram equalization and increasing the number of images through data augmentation techniques are also examined to evaluate their collaborations in improving classification performance. The results of CNN inspection of the pad prove to be quite inspiring, especially when the spatial component image is used together with the DFT magnitude image of the original image as CNN inputs, which are superior when only the original (spatial) image of the component is used, achieving a classification accuracy of 95.65%. In particular, the method that uses the increase in the number of training images by the data augmentation and the spatial domain and frequency (magnitude) images achieves the highest accuracy, with 97.47%, which represents approximately 385.5 correctly classified images from a total of 395.2 images.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Interlib: ferramenta colaborativa para tradutores e intérpretes de libras(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-07-06) MACHADO, Ralfh Alan Gomes; MERLIN, Bruno; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7336467549495208; FÜLBER, Heleno; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5018616409948511The growth in the use of information and communication technology (ICT) has revolutionized the way we share information, as an example we can mention the collaborative tools. These are of great importance for group teaching-learning, in addition to assisting in the dissemination of knowledge and activities aimed at the transmission of knowledge. In the teacher's communication with Deaf students, the Libras translator and interpreter is the agent who plays the role of knowledge mediator, however, this specialist needs to overcome different challenges such as the lack of specific signs. Therefore, this research consisted in the development of a collaborative tool which had as main objective the qualification, interaction and support with lexical choices in the interpretative process of these professionals. A hybrid methodology was used in its development process based on common software engineering techniques and requirements specification. A qualitative, exploratory assessment was carried out, with descriptive analytical guidance, through semi-structured interviews. After analysis by 12 Libras experts, the evaluators considered the main results to be the help in improving knowledge and interaction of these professionals, cataloging and disseminating signs in regions of difficult access, enabling linguistic variation respecting regionalism, contributing to social and digital inclusion for the community, enabling the validation of signals, narrowing territorial barriers through the integration of translators and interpreters from different areas of expertise and professional experience. The developed tool can be used in the computational area as a model for building collaborative tools used for the purpose of sharing knowledge for specific audiences.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Tecnologia assistiva para auxiliar o ensino de genética clássica a deficientes visuais: um estudo de caso na região amazônica(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-07-10) OLIVEIRA, Mônica Silva de; MERLIN, Bruno; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7336467549495208; VERAS, Adonney Allan de Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2201652617167877; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7227-0590Assistive Technologies has contributed significantly to the inclusion process, encompassing solutions that contribute to the dynamic and gradual construction of the teaching-learning process. However, difficulties such as the lack of diverse resources (technical, financial, human and others), make this task difficult to perform. In view of the adversities that institutions find in modernizing their legacy systems, this work proposes an approach, defined as Kirn, for the technological evolution of these systems, which has as premise the reengineering of software in an agile way, with efficient use of the available resources aiming the optimization of this practice. To assist in this activity, a tool called Kirn Framework was developed, which helps in mapping the requirements of legacy systems and in creating a base application, which will be the starting point of technological evolution. As a proposal for the evaluation of this approach, an experiment was developed at the Superintendência do Desenvolvimento da Amazônia (SUDAM), using experimental software engineering concepts, in which the prototypes developed with the institutional approach and the Kirn approach were compared through the use of pre-established indicators in the experiment’s planning.
