Avaliação de sistemas de informação: revisão da literatura

Literature review on information systems assessment. It analyses 104 published articles in 14 dijferent periodicals between 1974 and 1997. It identifies, analyses, and systematizes dependent variable adopted for evaluating information systems through that period. It focuses specifically the attributes related to the information quality and service quality of information systems. It also presents the literature referring to the using of the service marketing area instrument SERVQUAL, as well as its applicability in the information systems field.

A sociedade da informação no Brasil: um ensaio sobre os desafios do Estado

This article treats of the challenges the State faces for consolidating an information society in Brazil. These challenges are illiteracy, the need of developing human resources and the difficulty of any citizen in accessing information technology. Information society is understood as something ambivalen for the Brazilian State. It represents challenges but at the same time opportunities for developing an informational order, characterized by very quick changes in a contemporary society. Therefore, the State has to elaborate and apply relevant public policies for overcoming these challenges in order to build up a more evenly accessible information society in Brazil.

Henry Walter Bates: um viajante naturalista na Amazônia e o processo de transferência da informação

From the XVII century on, in the Amazon it began a moving of traveler naturalists as they were attracted by the biosociodiversity of the region, which was dominated by a forest of a tropical type. Henry Bates (1825-1892), a Natural History's scholar, was one of them, though he dislocated to the North of Brazil later on, between the years of 1848 and 1859. In such a context and through this paper, it is intended to analyze the process of transference of information that was produced by this traveler naturalist after 11 years of fieldwork. With basis on the bibliographic material that was selected towards this endeavor, it was verified that such a process was successful as an ample circulation of the Bates' published work reveals it. Exactly after the 156 years of this expedition, the scientific production of Bates continue to participate of the academic knowledge's circuit referring to the Amazon in the contemporary times, be it in the field of the Biology, Zoology, Sociology, History or of the Anthropology.

A informação social no corpo travesti (Belém, Pará): uma análise sob a perspectiva de Erving Goffman

Having in mind a woman ideal, the travesties make use of a hybrid morphology, matching signs of masculinity and femininity, but the result is that they disqualified for a major society. This way, based on the notion of Goffman's social information, the objective of this paper is to analyze the bodies of the referred individuals, what is carried out according to a relational perspective. The corpus under analysis is the material obtained from an ethnographic research carried out in 2002 and 2003 among travesties, prostituted in Belém, Pará State. In general, the bodies of travesties show forth a diversity of information which conveys stigma, deviation, violence and wish, in the State capital.

Compreendendo a imigração espanhola no Pará (1896-1899): um estudo a partir das passagens grátis como fontes de informação

It discusses the free tickets granted to Spanish immigrants to settle in Pará State (1896-1899), Brazil, as a source of information. It uses quantitative documentary research to understand the factors that motivated Vigo-Spain/Belém-Brazil migration, as well as to build a profile of the Spanish settlers. Based on a documentary sample from the Spanish immigration archives in the custody of the Arquivo Público do Estado do Pará, the research brings together information on the 792 Spaniards who obtained free tickets. The information recorded on these tickets indicates the origin, boarding ships, gender, age, civil status and occupation of the people in focus. The arrival of the Spanish is associated to changes in the Spanish economy, the 'whitening' of the Brazilian population policy and the need to populate the Brazilian Amazon. The migrants are mostly male, working age and peasants. With the existence of few sources of information on the Spanish presence in Pará, it is important to preserve and diffuse this documentary heritage. In this direction, the search for national and intenational tecnique cooperation is a necessary strategy to archival institutions that guard documents of Spanish immigration in Brazil.

Study about the traditional knowledge gotten by the herb sellers of the Ver-o-Peso free market, in Belém, Pará, Brazil. On the whole, it aims to contribute with the theme in the perspective of the Information Science. From the point of view of the investigation, it uses the bibliographic and ethnographic research towards the comprehension of the process of acquisition, warehousing and transference of the information about plants, peels and medicinal roots traded by the authors in focus. It verifies that the acquisition and the transmission of this knowledge occurs by the observation and by the orality in the day-to-day contact of the work with those products, kept only in the memory of the owners. Finally, this study shows the risks that permeate the traditional knowledge of the herb sellers of the Ver-o-Peso free market and the possibilities that the theme offers to the Information Science.

The present work makes a register of the extensionist experience in the context of the Faculdade de Biblioteconomia of the Instituto de Ciências Sociais Aplicadas of the Universidade Federal do Pará. This is the project "Building the information literacy through of the strategies of consolidating of the educative use of the Technologies of Information", that among the months of August to December of 2011 concentrated the actions between the people from of the criminal system and relatives attended by the Fábrica Esperança. From the research-action, the subjects in focus were involved in oriented activities to the development of the information literacy in a total hourly load of 160 hours. Among professors, universitarians and technicians, the experience allowed to reflect about the concept of the information literacy, which is basic to think the inclusion and citizenship in the information society.

O comportamento no processo de busca da informação por meio das tecnologias da informação e comunicação: um estudo de caso sobre os discentes da Faculdade de Biblioteconomia no Estado do Pará

It approaches the relationship between the behavior during the process of information seeking and Information Technology and Communication ( ICT ) , treated in an interdisciplinary perspective in the context of undergraduate Librarianship at the Federal University of Pará ( UFPA ) . This study aims to investigate how undergraduate students in Library hold their academic research by examining whether there is successful the results, focusing , in particular , access to academic texts , for reading and textual production of these students , who are in process vocational training . The methodology was as follows: the first with the literature , based on authors such as Kuhlthau ( 1991 , 1999 , 2004 and 2005 ) , Wilson ( 1997 , 1999 , 2000 and 2006 ) and covering contributions of other thinkers on the subject addressed . In the second step , we performed an exploratory and descriptive study of qualitative and quantitative approach with a questionnaire containing closed, open and hybrid questions . The results show that students generally have satisfactory performance in the information seeking process , therefore, perform the process of information retrieval in a proficient manner.

Bibliotecário imagem social ou clichê: um estudo prático do marketing informacional do curso de Biblioteconomia/UFPA na Escola Brigadeiro Fontenelle

Introduces the practice of informational marketing as an object of study, to curb the stereotypes that exist about the image of the professional librarian. The goal of this research is to analyze the design of the 2nd and 3rd year students of E.E.E.F.M. Brigadier Fontenelle, with respect to the course Library. The method used is the qualitative and quantitative research. The results examine the points cause the stereotypes of the occupation of librarian and library science. The research concludes, showing the testimony of some students, after the lecture held at school, and as they note the inclusion of the librarian regarding the fields of expertise in library science and its real image front of society.

Enfoques da revolução francesa, nazismo e ditadura militar no Brasil: repressão e censura à informação

Deals with the censorship of the information from three world historical events like the French Revolution which brings the 'attitudes of Illuminists', 'Bücherverbrennung' on Nazism and the 'oppression in literature' in the military dictatorship in Brazil. The objective is to focus on the various forms of censorship applied to documents that were censored in these periods. The methodological approach adopted was accomplished through an exploratory research, bibliographic character based on ideas of authors like Chaffe (2009), Cornelsen (2009), Fioratti (2012) and Darnton (1992), in that approach the historical records, indicating the influence of censorship when it comes to historical facts. The text is finalized integrating historical periods to information, highlighting the importance of information in such historical periods as it opens a new path to democracy. Thus focuses on the intellectual right of access to knowledge through the freedom to search and use information to make up the story and focuses on the contribution of Information Science as an interdisciplinary field of knowledge to the understanding of historical events.

Nas causas de um sintoma social o bibliotecário atua: a mediação e uso da informação como fonte de interposição sobre o vírus HIV

It is of importance that the professional librarian has as a mediator of information vis-à-vis the reality of social cases, with regard to concepts about the HIVAIDS. And their seriousness in-group, to bring assistance through the information, as foundations against the superstitions and misconceptions regarding HIV/AIDS. The theme is relevant to all areas therefore presents the discussions about prejudices and myths in the early 80. Above all have their goals based on addressing the social formation of own information professionals, especially the contribution of the librarian on social action for the context and the spread of the HIV virus. The methodology was a bibliographical revision about the exploratory, Almeida Júnior (1997) and Marques (2002), among others. In summary, the research used two sources of information such as the bases MEDLINE, and VHL in that sought articles published in the Decade of 80, among others found articles about the drugs that inhibit HIV among them called Zidovudine (AZT). The results show a lack of information, in which prejudice still linger in the social context. Because information workers at this point rebound the librarian, which is essential in this context, where it contributes to health professionals, to take the uncertainties, assisting on the information convalidadas to the virus carriers themselves and society.

A moda como objeto de informação: o caso do Movimento Feminista Punk Riot Grrrl

Introduction: In considering the issue of fashion as an object of information, the study aims to present the behavior and attire characteristics of the punk feminist movement Riot Grrrrl as constituents of a singular language and discourse space and, therefore, subject to further investigations by the area of Library and Information Science. Method: This is an exploratory research of bibliographic and documentary base. Results: it presents the historical scene of punk feminist movement Riot Grrrrl within the punk background, analyzing the theme of feminism, the discussion of gender and its relationship with the overall fashion context. It was revealed that the Riot Grrrrls’ behavior and attire act as way of gender and political dissent. Conclusion: the visual reinterpretation of a punk feminist movement supported in their radical ideologies and their impact on the fashion world shows the representative nature of attire and behavior as emancipatory forms in the social, configured as discourse spaces and, therefore, as an information attribute.

Clodoaldo Beckmann (1927–2007): o médico cirurgião e documentalista dedicado à Biblioteconomia

Study about the life and work of the surgeon and documentalist Clodoaldo Fernando Ribeiro Beckmann (1927-2007), founder of the Librarianship at the Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA). It has the objective of recover the professional dimension of the man who has put his knowledge at service of the Medicine and Librarianship a study of qualitative nature was conducted, it was based on oral history, more precisely by biographic method, allied to documental and bibliographic research and the realization of open interviews and informal conversations with relatives, friends and ex-students. The memory recovered by evidences point the remarkable accomplishments of the Beckmann’s life that made his name entered into the history of Medicine and Librarianship in Pará.

Preservação digital em coleções bibliograficas da biodiversidade: o caso da Biodiversity Heritage Library no Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi (MPEG)

Reports the experience of the project of digitization and online publication of Essential rare works collection in biodiversity of the Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi (MPEG). The initiative is the Biodiversity Heritage Library (BHL), whose purpose is to subsidize, the strengthening and development of scientific information and communication infrastructure, biodiversity and the environment. The purpose of the study is to show the project of digitization and online publication of Essential rare works collection in biodiversity of the Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi and study the role of digital preservation in the bibliographic collection special, using the criteria of digital preservation and digitization policies. Allowing the construction of a conceptual schema to add and save the information in digital format, giving immediate access, by means of networks and sources of information, both national and international. The methodological path was conducted through an exploratory research of descriptive character, based on literature as in books, journals, dissertations, theses and scientific articles already published addressing the theme. Thus, the most relevant issues is examined in the study, with related methods with the preservation of a bibliographic collection in digital formats. In this sense, the scan is combined with digital preservation in the collection on biodiversity, and will bring enormous contribution to the library of MPEG, making scientific information more accessible, giving continuity to the memory and making sure the absolute excellence of digital supports, covered by technological innovations that remedied their future losses.
