Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Adeus Maio! Salve Junho!: narrativas e representações dos festejos juninos em Belém do Pará nos anos de 1950(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-01-08) GOMES, Elielton Benedito Castro; COSTA, Antonio Maurício Dias da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2563255308649361This study aims to analyze the narratives and representations of June festivities in Belém of Pará in the 1950s. These festivities won highlights in the pages of books, newspapers and magazines circulating in Belém from the period in question, where it was possible to find ads, chronicles and novels that deal with this festive time. The June festivals of great importance to a significant portion of belenense society, counted on the participation of several musical ensembles, “juninos” groups and audio equipment animating these events performed in various spaces of the suburbs and the city center. In addition, several were the views of journalists and intellectuals on this festive celebration, these being analyzed from the distribution of roles of values and behavior standards proposed for them in his writings. In this sense, the concept of representation, proposed by the French historian Roger Chartier, permeate the dissertation in question, in which the author points out that the speeches are interspersed strategies and practices that tend to impose authority and even induce the other the choices and they are built dialogically a game that includes interests, conflicts and negotiations. The research presented included aid supplies taken from the newspaper O Liberal, Folha do Norte, A Província do Pará, O Estado do Pará, A Vanguarda and the magazine Amazônia, published in the 1950s, as well as memoirs novels that talk about the subject worked here in the second half of the twentieth century.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Agentes da ordem e da desordem: polícia, política e sociedade no Pará de 1879 a 1904(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-01-05) VILHENA, Anderson Alexandre Cruz; FARIAS, William Gaia; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2553754490715388During the early years of the republican regime the military went through a process of institutional restructuring and consolidation of a building movement for an alleged "military class". In this movement is possible to see the making of Pará law enforcers since the Empire as a tacitly defined project in line with the ideas of civility and modernity at the time. These work seeks to understand the police beyond the result of a high officialdom national effort to impose this agenda to a local force subordinate to the Army, but as a result of a historical process in which the Pará military themselves were actors and agents. It is precisely in order to understand the process of making of the republican police force that this research analyzes the security organization in Pará, as well the subjects who embodied this project, and how they are interacting with Pará society in the late XIX century to the XX. Understanding the early decades of the Republic and the uprisings, disciplinary problems and reforms of Pará military during this period as doings of resistance that demonstrate awareness of his own agency; I consider that yet included in a military build process and monopolization of force, the Pará police must be seen as active participant in the creation of an organized, well-structured and effective military force.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Agostinho de Souza Moreira, comandante dos rios Guamá e Capim: trajetória de uma liderança cabana do interior da Amazônia (1829-1837)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-03-14) NASCIMENTO, Wesley David Silva do; RICCI, Magda Maria de Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4368326880097299This dissertation analyzes the trajectory of Agostinho de Souza Moreira, a leader from the interior of Grão-Pará in the early years of Cabanagem (1835-1836). Through the research around this subject, this work aims to address the unfolding of the hut war in the Capim and Guamá rivers, which comprises the parishes of São Domingos da Boa Vista and São Miguel da Cachoeira, and the village of Ourém; in addition to exerting influence in the town of Bragança and in the place of Viseu. In these locations, Agostinho Moreira acted as General Commander with the responsibility of legitimizing the authority of the cabano government in the region. Previously, this guy had stints in the City Council, the Ordinary Court and the National Guard, which allowed him to meet many people, the supervision of the region's production, in addition to the local geography. Historically marked by escapes, by the action of the mocambos, indigenous resistance and military desertions, this region known as the middle of the road between Pará and Maranhão was convulsed in many struggles led by these peoples, who fought for better living conditions and their freedoms, during the 1820s. Thus, from 1836 onwards, when Cabanagem began to radicalize to the interior of Pará, Agostinho Moreira secured notoriety for having control of a region that held the necessary goods for a war economy that threatened the control of the interprovincial authorities who armed themselves heavily in the hunt for the cabano leader. In this sense, we will present the region of Agostinho Moreira's activity marked by crossings and refuges. And then we will analyze his trajectory in search of a place in local power until his rise as a cabano leader, highlighting his organization, his war strategies and his escapes during the anticabana repression. We did this through the search for documentary traces that would lead us to Agostinho Moreira found in letters and correspondence exchanged between authorities, terms of council, and newspaper reports that circulated in the Empire, using the methodology of the indiciary paradigm to identify the action of the amocambados and indigenous people in the period of greatest radicality of the Cabana war.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) As almas da terra: a violência no campo paraense(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2007-08-20) SACRAMENTO, Elias Diniz; FONTES, Edilza Joana Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9447513031256372During the government of the Military Dictatorship, Amazônia he/she became part of the project of priorities to help Brazil to reach a larger development. Pará had in that process great prominence for being it ' portal of entrance of the area '. Like this, good part of the enterprises that were implanted in this state, it didn't take in consideration the population that inhabited this longínqua it leaves of Brazil, he/she has been forgetting a lot for the federal governments. The thought projects were totally opposed to the type of economic activities that during centuries worked him in the area for the existent communities, as of the natives or of the colonists. The projects agroindustriais had as goal the appropriation of great amounts of earth for they reach its objectives. With the military representatives' concession, Amazônia suffered deep changes after the installation of those agriculture business, doing with that a lot of cities that already existed lived a phase of great conflicts for they allow not that the projects if they simply installed in agreement with the those managers' will and that harmed countless families. The municipal district of Moju vivenciou that scenery. The process of installation of the agroindústrias still began in the decade of 1970, but it went in to decade of 1980 that the colonists saw each other threatened of losing its lands for those enterprises. In that way, in this work, I analyze as he/she gave him to the entrance of those projects, as well as the those colonists' organization and the enfrentamentos that had during this whole period and that did with that with that this scenery if it transformed at " war " stage for several moments. The documents used as dossier, report of newspapers, proceedingses of meetings, report of magazines, interviews of syndical leaderships, tillers, you slay of the violence, they help to understand as he/she gave him this turbulent process in the small city, that should arrive to the at every cost ' economic development.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) “Beatriz era mais fêmea que mulher”: feminilidade e masculinidade pela imprensa de Belém (1940)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-09-27) MOREIRA, Jessica Maria Pastana; CANCELA, Cristina Donza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8393402118322730In this work we will try to analyze the speeches about femininity and masculinity, using the articles from the newspapers from Belém and other capitals, which reported and updated their constituents daily with information about the crimes, imprisonment and death of a woman named Beatriz da Conceição, during 1940s. The society of the time defined spaces and behaviors for women and men, from which they could be in the order or disorder line, according to values and conducts. So, using control mechanisms - medical and legal guidelines - in order to keep an eye on the subjects and their bodies, the speeches about feminine and masculine standards were daily disseminated through the newspapers. It was so important to follow the imposed rules that the newspapers of large or small circulation - Folha Vespertina, Folha do Norte, O Estado do Pará, A Província do Pará, A Vanguarda, and O Liberal - when reporting the proceedings about Beatriz, brought in their narratives partial perspectives, value judgments about what was allowed or condemnable to women and men. And in this discursive dynamics about the standards in the public and private areas - woman of modesty, mother, prostitute, working man, murderer, and others - the complexity of the subjects allowed us to understand the multiple femininities and masculinities, considering the social markers of the individuals, also going through issues related to sexuality, crimes, honor, morality and violence.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Os Cadernos do Promotor: as ações do Tribunal do Santo Ofício no Maranhão e Grão-Pará (1640-1750)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-06-25) CARVALHO, Leila Alves de; ARENZ, Karl Heinz; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4213810951901055This research aims to analyse how the actions of the Court of the Holy Office in the Portuguese Amazon – Maranhão and Grão-Pará – within the temporal space which extends from 1640 to 1750. The intention is to understand the strategies employed by the Holy Office as a way of spreading its power in a period prior to the Visitation of 1763 during Pombal’s rule within the reality of the colony market by its huge extension and its diverse populations. In this context, we search to identify its agents, as well as the forms used to implement moral and religious discipline in this space and in this society. We will base ourselves, as main source, on the manuscripts of the Promoter of the Inquisition of Lisbon, and through them, try to detect the procedures established by the inquisitorial agents; quantitatively and qualitatively, which were the most relevant complaints from the Court's point of view; and to identify, for which reason some complaints did not turn into processes.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Cantos da floresta: temáticas indígenas na produção de canção popular de artistas da amazônia brasileira (1988-1992)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-09-30) COSTA, Jessica Maria de Queiroz; COSTA, Antonio Maurício Dias da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2563255308649361; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0223-9264This research investigates themes related to indigenous peoples in the production of popular songs by Nilson Chaves (PA), Raízes Caboclas (AM) and Trio Roraimeira (RR), artistas from the Amazon, between 1988 and 1992. Period in which discussions about a new Constitution were extremely important, with indigenous peoples as one of the main characters in that context. At the same time, the environmental debate took place in Brazil, due to the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) or popularly called “ECO-92”, held in the city of Rio de Janeiro in June 1992. The objective of this study arises due to the constant uses of these Amazonian artists to indigenous references to affirm an Amazonian identity through their musical works. It was a moment of intense environmental and sociopolitical discussion, since there was an alert to the defense and affirmation of several themes in the construction process of the new Federal Constitution, such as the protection of the environment, indigenous right and duties, labor rights and others. In this sense, there is a raise in the search for indigenuos themes due to this context. To this end, the research focused mainly on searching newspapers from the states of these mentioned artists, such as Diário do Pará (PA), Jornal do Commercio (AM) and Folha de Boa Vista (RR), between 1988 and 1992. In addition, interviews were conducted with Nilson Chaves (PA), Celdo Braga (AM) and Eliakin Rufino from Trio Roraimeira (RR) to compare information and understand their trajectories as artists and their envolvement with indigenous demands and agendas. The study of the songs and trajectories of these artists allows the understanding of approaches that reinforce and/or reconstruct conceptions about indigenous peoples in the Amazonian musical scenario, depending on sociopolitical and cultural intererests.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Caridade e saúde pública em tempo de epidemias. Belém 1850-1890(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2006) COSTA, Magda Nazaré Pereira da; FIGUEIREDO, Aldrin Moura de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4671233730699231Forced to face a serious epidemic crisis that started nearly throughout the second half of the XIX century, the inhabitants of Belém witness, from that moment on, an intense social mobilization that sought to preserve public health in the city. Public health had long ceased being object of interest to the “governo provincial” and now felt the rage of yellow fever, cholera and chickenpox which were erratically making victims around town. Based on these factos this paper seeks to analize some ways used to contain the spread of cases of these cliseases in the capital of the “Província do Pará”, by stressing the sanitary strategies put fort by the people connected to medical science. Such strategies, in most cases carried out by public administration, did not yield worthwhile results; but they interfered with and significatly modified the ways of providing assistance to the most needy patients who were in general helped in the name of charity at the “Santa Casa de Misericórdia” Hospital. The lack of knowledge concerning the etiology of those diseases brought up an even bitterer ideology conflict among medical doctors who disagreed about the possible sources of the epidemic and about the kind of therapeutic methods to be provided to patients at the same time that the risk of contamination also increased “compassion” and “charity” of al who had been direct or indirectly threatened by those diseases.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O caso de Klaus Keller: homossexualidades, narrativas populares e morte pela imprensa paraense (Belém-Pará, 1983-1990)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-04-30) BRITO NETO, Pedro Antonio de; CANCELA, Cristina Donza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8393402118322730In 1983, in the city of Belém-PA, the death of a homosexual known as Klaus Keller took over the pages of the Pará press, a death that would be revisited throughout the 80s. This narrative would be exposed in the pages of newspapers during the period of the "second wave" of the Brazilian homosexual movement and in the context of the process of re-democratization of the Brazilian state, after the Civil-Military Dictatorship (1964-1985). This led to a more critical press, with judgments condemning the actions of the police in the case, as well as explicit judgments about the victim's sexuality. However, on the other hand, there was a demand for the case to be solved, considering that Klaus was a homosexual of explicit sexuality and well-known in Belém. The Província do Pará, O Liberal and Diário do Pará were the main press outlets in Pará that wrote his story. In order to understand this publication, I used the concepts of popular and/or sensationalist press, both to understand the ways in which they disseminated news and the way in which they sold it. In addition, it was noted that this story could lead to a debate on bio-politics and necropolitics, considering state control and micro-powers over the sexual and racial identities present in the narratives. That said, this dissertation started from the present by traveling to the past, and found similar ends there. In other words, the deaths of homosexuals in the present turned out to be similar. In other words, the deaths of homosexuals in the present were similar to those in the past. In this work with press sources, it was found that the discourse has changed little, and the murders as well.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A cidade de Camilo: escravidão urbana em Belém do Grão Pará (1871-1888)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-06-26) LAURINDO JUNIOR, Luiz Carlos; BEZERRA NETO, José Maia; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7000143949499821The objective of this dissertation consists in the analysis of some aspects of black slavery in the city of Belem, between 1871 (year of the promulgation of the Law of the Free Womb) and may 1888 (when slavery was abolished). The focus of the research is directed to the “human experience” and the “everyday life” of a population that, despite being significant (at least until the middle of the 1880 decade), does not usually appear in the historiography about Belem in the late 19th century, commonly called Belem of the BelleÉpoque. Component elements of this context, as the boom of the rubber economy, the propagation of the ideas of “civilization”, “modernity” and “progress”, and the growth of the free population, end up leaving no space to the slaves that resided and/or roaming around the city and nuanced its landscape. The criminal process in which was the defendant one of this urban slaves, Camilo João Amancio, will be the conducting wire of the four chapters of this dissertation, that address the following problems: the relation of slaves with the police and justice; their insertion in the world of labor and in the urban market of slaves; the uses and meanings of non-work time that they disposed; and the networks of sociability that they wove with the most diverse individuals.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A cidade e os “bichos”: poder público, sociedade e animais em Belém (1892-1917)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2015-01-09) VIEIRA, David Durval Jesus; MOURÃO, Leila; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5665064793338456Throughout the nineteenth century, municipal governments banned certain uses, as permanence and circulation of animals in Belém through the “Códigos de Posturas”. Even after Antonio Lemos Stewardship (1897-1911), during the peak of rubber economy and the consolidation of the republican regime, the bans remained, and to it were added measures and practical actions as the creation of a Municipal Guard. This dissertation investigates how the government wanted to discipline the residents of the state capital in the use of animals and results of this, focusing the analysis on three types of bans: mistreating pack animals, letting livestock animals of any kind loose on the streets and squares, and owning dogs without the municipal license. To this end, we investigated sources as “Códigos de Posturas”, “Relatórios dos Intendentes Municipais”, newspapers, literature and images. I analyzed this documentation using concepts such as nature and civilization, in the perspective of the environmental history.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Ciência, nação e região na Era Vargas: o caso do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi (1930-1945)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-06-27) LEAL, Diego Rodrigo Guimarães; GUZMÁN, Décio Marco Antônio de Alencar; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0656841754619406; HTTPS://ORCID.ORG/0000-0003-3219-4404; SANJAD, Nelson Rodrigues; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9110037947248805; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6372-1185This dissertation is situated at the interface of environmental history and the History of Science and proposes to the relationship between science and politics between 1930 and 1945, a period known as the Vargas Era. The period is characterid by historiography as rupture in the political, administrative, social and economic sphere of the Brazilian state, in relation to the balance of force and the partten of development the so-called First Republic. This change was reflected in the cultural esphere and had consequences for the institucionalization of the Sciences and the configuration of a Brazilian heritage field. This process will be analyzed in the state of Pará through a case study, particularly the scientific work of Carlos Estêvão de Oliveira at the head of the Emilio Goeldi Museum, where he served as director for amost 15 years, since he was invited by the federal Magalhães Barata, 1930. In this context, the state of Pará was going through a serious financial crisis, as the rubber economic had collapsed since the 1910, and public instituicions, with few resources at their disposal, began to face numerous problems. The aim is therefore to understand the institutional adopted Carlos Estêvão de Oliveira during his time in office, what the scientific agenda built up during this period and how the institution was transformed into a centralizing and nacionalist political enviroment.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Cruentas guerras: índios e portugueses nos sertões do Maranhão e Piauí (primeira metade do século XVIII)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-08-19) MELO, Vanice Siqueira de; CHAMBOULEYRON, Rafael Ivan; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7906172621582952In the captaincies of Maranhão and of Piauí, in Portuguese America, there were many wars against Indians throughout the first half of the eighteenth century. This dissertation discusses how the space of these captaincies was described in colonial texts, as well as how the troops contributed to transform the landscape of the region. This dissertation examines how the colonial landscape was composed both by the Indians spaces and by the relationship that indigenous groups established with each other and with Luso-brazilian settlers. This dissertation also discusses how the wars were part of power relations within the State Maranhão and Grão-Pará and how their occurrence depended on specific political interests.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) De professores civis a oficiais militares: experiências sociais de militares temporários para o magistério na Força Aérea Brasileira (2011-2019)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-08-31) GAUDÊNCIO, Sandra Letícia Magalhães; NUNES, Francivaldo Alves; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4125313573133140This dissertation analyzes the temporary hiring process of teachers as Military Officers, considering the demands related to basic education in a militarized structure. The objective is to understand the process of training and performance of temporary military officers summoned to the teaching staff (teaching and pedagogy) of the Brazilian Air Force - FAB, between the years 2011 and 2019, at Colégio Tenente Rêgo Barros (CTRB). Therefore, it is relevant to understand the daily training of these temporary officers, “the swabs” and the dynamics of a “military spirit” whose scope was determined by internal social relations. The hypotheses raised are that the various experiences of social subjects, men and women who worked in this area, permeated through strangeness, resistance, mediation, conflicts that begin from the selection process to the performance in the CTRB. With regard to the sources, the relevance of orality is highlighted based on the use of the technique of interviews, authorized and recorded through google meet, made with the temporary Officers, their memories and forgetfulness, as well as official documents, newspapers, magazines and photographs. We will seek to understand the entry process of civilian teachers in 2011 who became temporary military and are professionals in the area of Teaching and Pedagogy, considering the demands aimed at teaching in a welfare school and the profile of the professionals who sought to reach summoned and formed for a temporary “career” in the Brazilian Air Force-FAB, the so-called 2nd class Reserve Officers Squad Convocados - QOCON.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O dedilhar folclórico de uma alma gentil: música, folclore e negritude na obra de Gentil Puget (1938-1948)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-08-28) SOARES, Ariel Silva; COSTA, Antonio Maurício Dias da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2563255308649361; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0223-9264This production sought to show, through the trajectory of an artist and intellectual from Pará, the national scene of studies of popular culture between the years 1938-1948. Through Gentil Puget and his approach to the themes of folklore, folk music and blackness, a period of national history concerned with the formation of national identity was analyzed. To this end, periodicals were selected that mention his activity in radio programs, his chronicles in newspapers and interviews. We seek to understand how this musician's production helped to build a discourse of national unity in the Vargas regime, on the one hand, while, on the other hand, he assumed an activism dedicated to folklore and the black cause that clashed with the hegemonic project of cultural policies at the time. We aim to analyze how Puget's intellectual construction was developed in his production and how his personal life interfered in his work. We also work with the connections that the folklorist established for his political-ideological positioning in defense of black demonstrations, both in Belém, with Bruno de Menezes and Dalcídio Jurandir, and in the Federal Capital, Rio de Janeiro, with Abdias Nascimento and Abigail Bastos.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O diabo na carne de Belém: o circuito exibidor de filmes pornôs durante a decadência dos cinemas de rua na capital paraense (1985-1997)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-04-05) BARBOSA, Raíssa Santos; COSTA, Antonio Maurício Dias da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2563255308649361; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0223-9264The movie theaters from streets were one of the main places of leisure among belenenses during the 20th century. Around this practice were fundamental elements for its realization, such as the production of films, distribution, exhibition, advertising, the commentary of the specialized critic in the newspapers and the search of the public. All these elements formed a movie show circuit that the city of Belém experienced for most of that century. Although it was always subject to change, the circuit altered significantly in the 1980s, when street’s movie theaters went through a phase of decay and some closed. The owners of Cine Ópera, Cine Nazaré, Cine Iracema, Cinema Dois and Cine Cassino, chose to show pornographic movies, material that had already been produced at an industrial pace in the US since the 1970s, but took a while to enter Brazil due to the dictatorial censorship. Therefore, the trajectory of the public interested on these films determined the dimensions of a new movie show circuit specialized in porn exhibition between 1985 and 1997. It is important to stress that the new circuit existed in parallel to the conventional and decaying display circuit. Our guiding question sought to understand what would have been the conditions that allowed and made possible the existence of this porn circuit. The results of the research in periodic and oral sources, pointed to the weakening of the institutions linked to censorship, the end of the dictatorship, the economic crisis of the 1980s, the massive entry of soft and hard core porn movies in the country, the expectation of profit of exhibitors, the public's curiosities (carnal knowledge) and sexual opportunities, in addition to a moral tolerance within society, as fundamental fact for its consolidation.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Dinâmica populacional e atividade madeireira em uma vila da Amazônia: a vila de Moju (1730-1778)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2013-03-15) BATISTA, Regina Célia Corrêa; VIEIRA JÚNIOR, Antonio Otaviano; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6764908679902300This work intends to look into the strategies of occupation / colonization of the Moju´s region to try to understand the practices experienced by many individuals in the colonization process of the Captaincy of Pará. In this scenario logging walked paripassu with extraction, agriculture and other manufacturing activities, catalyzing population and providing fixing stocks mainly the banks of rivers, major roads moving people and goods. In this crop of Portuguese America were settling family units represented not only by masters of mills, as is commonly often thinking, but mainly for many small farmers - Indians, mestizos, blacks and poor whites - leveraging the colonization of the area.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Os diretores de povoações: serviços e transgressões no Grão-Pará do diretório dos índios (1757-1798)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-06-28) MELO, Vinícius Zúniga; COELHO, Mauro Cezar; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7187368960757936The villages’ administrators, responsible for the settled Indians’ tutelage during the term Directory (1757-1798), are considered for an important part of historiography as subjects who took advantage of the role assignments to give account of their personal interests, disobeying constantly the legal provisions. Because of this behavior, some authors blame the administrators for the "failure" of the Indians’ Directory. This work, considering restricted this formulated vision, aims to understand better who were the directors that worked in Pará Captaincy. By analyzing the sources, found that those subjects occupied the chambers of the Villages, military troops and requested land grants and mercies. Regarding the latter, specifically, the directors required in return to their services in the Portuguese Amazon. Alongside these services, the directors committed a series of transgressions in the villages aiming to access local resources. Thus, we argue that serve the Portuguese crown and transgress one of its laws, the Indians’ Directory, were not incompatible practices but, coexisting on the day of the administrators. This is because the service and transgression was constituted on key strategies for achieving success in the region. It is due to be used for this purpose, which argued also that the transgression continued to exist on a large scale in the Grão-Pará of the second half of the eighteenth century, even as a practice on which there was moral criticism among the inhabitants of the society, and even she happening in a period in which Portugal sought to have a more effective political and economic control in the kingdom and overseas.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Do ponto de vista da caserna: memórias do cotidiano e experiências de militares da aeronáutica em Belém durante o regime militar (1964-1985)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-12-19) SANTOS, Carlos Eduardo dos Santos e; PETIT PEÑARROCHA, Pedro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1981202733448583; COSTA, Antonio Maurício Dias da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2563255308649361This work discusses the perceptions of the population of Belém on the period of the military regime of 1964, focusing on the military segment: Graduates of Military Aeronautics. We seek to understand the experience of everyday life in the state capital in the period 1964-1985. It manifests itself beyond politics and economics, depicting aspects of the company relating to work, leisure and private life, in which the different situations and instances are experienced and acquire different meanings and senses in the day-to-day. We aim to understand the meanings attributed by the military to their daily activities, whether at the institutional level or in the middle calendar. We use this insight to the documentation (photographic records, newsletters, posters) of the First Regional Air Command headquartered in Belém (I COMAR), and systematic interviews of military personnel and their families. These two spheres - Civil-Military - are focused on crossing their experiences in the civil, may have a direct or indirect relation with the political, economic and social aspects of the military regime.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) “Do sarampão as perniciozissimas bexigas”: epidemias no Grão-Pará setecentista (1748-1800)(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-11-14) MARTINS, Roberta Sauaia; VIEIRA JÚNIOR, Antonio Otaviano; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6764908679902300This paper seeks to analyze the main actions and strategies used by colonial and metropolitan authorities, towards the impacts caused by three specific epidemics that struck the Grão-Pará captaincy, in the second half of the eighteenth century. In an exercise to discuss how these strategies were born and forged out of the power exchanges across the Atlantic as well as the Grão-Pará internal context. It seeks to comprehend not only the accomplished guidelines, but also how these events were described; the converging points and the tensions of the paths traded by the epidemics.
