Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) À procura de Mário Faustino tradutor(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-03-31) VERÍSSIMO, Thiago André dos Santos; LEAL, Izabela Guimarães Guerra; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2507019514021007The 1940s and the 1950s are significant for the process of cultural diffusion in Brazilian newspapers, with notable performances of writers, poets and scholars on many journals of that time. Thus, the ambiance of the newspapers became modern and creative on behalf of culture and literature. At that time, there were two newspapers which contributed, through their literary supplements, to the cultural movement in Belém, state of Pará, Brazil, which were: “Arte Literatura”, from Folha do Norte and “Arte e Literatura”, from A Província do Pará. In this ambiance, Mário Faustino has initiated his literary life publishing chronicles and poems in newspapers, and, above all, he worked as a translator of poetry. At the age of only 16 years old, Faustino has begun translating a laundry list of writers of international literature, from the Spanish, the French and the English. This analysis work aims to map Mário Faustino’s training as a translator, from his early translated poems. For this purpose, we discuss the notion of translation as a process of training and critical development.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Arquivos, bibliotecas e periódicos na Vigia oitocentista(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2011-09-01) ARAÚJO, Joseane Sousa; SOUZA, Simone Cristina Mendonça de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9233950092812632; SALES, Germana Maria Araújo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8723885160615840The 19th century was a period in history marked by changes in the Brazil. The process of articulating coordinated sentences of the language in question was initially described by Ferreira (2003), which verified the switch-reference mechanism by means of the occurrence of two specific conjunctions nã and mã, one for the identical subject (SS) and the other for the co-ordinated sentence of the language in question different subject (DS), respectively. This dissertation describes the coordination between nominal and verbal phrases in Parkatêjê and points to some facts about the language: (1) it is confirmed that the language presents switch-reference (FERREIRA, 2003); (2) it is confirmed that a homophone form a mẽ occurs as a conjunction to coordinate noun phrases and names in series (FERREIRA, 2003); (3) the occurrence of the nã/mã conjunction of the switch-reference phenomenon does not seem to be mandatory, according to the data analysis, that is, the juxtaposition mechanism (parataxis) is also used. The methodological contribution for the development of this research followed steps like bibliographic research, fieldwork, transcription and organization of linguistic data and analysis / discussion of the data collected.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Discurso do desenvolvimento sustentável: a polêmica relação entre preservação ambiental e desenvolvimento econômico(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-11-05) SERRÃO, Glaciane Felipe; PESSOA, Fátima Cristina da Costa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4011084861970140This research has the objective to investigate the polemics founder of the discourse of sustainable development. We used a standard and specific method called Measurement-Based (DENO, 1985), which evaluates the measured reading speed of a subject, which is calculated by subtracting the total errors of the total words read correctly in one minute. This research was conducted with the participation of 76 students in order to observe if they read a fragmented way or in large groups of words and reading can flow smoothly, with a good level of recognition vocabulary. During conducting the research, it was found considerable information taken from the reading samples. Most of students have shown that their reading fluency is way bellow of the expected for the high school students. The majority demonstrated to have a suitable reading still for the beginning of the 9th grade and the other half of the students got proper reading yet for the 6th grade, and some students less than that. According of reading analysis by the CBM method, it is a result of little knowledge of the vocabulary, failures in automatic recognition of words, causing much slowness and hesitation in reading, which may contribute to failures in students understanding.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estudo geossociolinguístico da variação lexical na zona rural do estado do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-05-28) GUEDES, Regis José da Cunha; RAZKY, Abdelhak; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8153913927369006Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Um estudo sobre os ensaios jornalísticos de Franklin de Oliveira: a face das críticas rosianas(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-02-28) SILVA, Elizandra Fernandes Reis da; HOLANDA, Sílvio Augusto de Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0928175455054278Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O herói na interpretação e na recepção crítica de “Grande sertão: veredas”(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-02-28) ROCHA, Márcia Denise Assunção da; HOLANDA, Sílvio Augusto de Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0928175455054278The present dissertation consists of a reading based in the aesthetic molds of the novel Grande sertão: veredas, by the writer Guimarães Rosa (1908-1967). After an art-historical study of the types of heroes presented in the course of universal literary history and analyzed by the critics, such as in the epic (epic hero), in the medieval (medieval hero), in the tragedy (tragic hero) and romance (hero romanesco), including the hero category hero formulated by Georg Lukács: the demonic hero, as well as the hero in modernity (modern hero), there is in the present work a differentiated examination of the figure of the persona based on jaussian model, which will be used for consideration of an interpretive and critic reception study of the character in Rosa‘s work, especially since 1956. This way, it will demonstrate that current theme is sustained by the literary works that offer themselves as objects of questioning for critic thought, renewing the theoretical principles of each era. Thus, the analysis turns to a critic study of some major authors of literary criticism in Brazil and abroad, whose selection is according to the hero categorie, like Manuel Cavalcanti Proença (1958), Mario Vargas Llosa (1966), Antonio Candido (1969), Walnice Nogueira Galvão (1972), Benedito Nunes (1982), Davi Arrigucci Jr. (1994), José Antonio Pasta Jr. (1999) e Ettore Finazzi-Agrò (2004) with the aim of understanding and explaining the importance of reconstruction of the horizon of expectation from the hermeneutic triad, that allows the reader to participate in the genesis of the aesthetic object, expanding its context and meaning.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O (Inter)cultural em livros didáticos de português brasileiro para estrangeiros(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2010-11-30) BATISTA, Marcos dos Reis; CUNHA, José Carlos Chaves da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3117544056791050Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Leituras a vapor: a cultura letrada na Belém oitocentista(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2009-04-27) NOBRE, Izenete Garcia; SALES, Germana Maria Araújo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8723885160615840Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Literatura e imprensa em Belém do Grão-Pará: o romance-folhetim no periódico Diário de Notícias, nos anos de 1881 a 1893(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2012-07-02) CRUZ, Lady Ândrea Carvalho da; SALES, Germana Maria Araújo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8723885160615840This work presents researches realized at the journal Diário de Notícias, from Belém, Pará, from 1881 to 1893, having as goal the recover of fictional texts, specially the feuilleton, genre which emerges from the intense relation between literature and journal in the 19th century. Is this period, the journal appears as an important communication media to culture and politics, considering its lower expense in comparison with the books. The feuilleton reaches, inside the journal, a great popularity among the readers. Between the recovered feuilletons, we choose to analyze the Negro e cor de rosa: o canto do cysne, by the French writer Georges Ohnet, published from July to August, 1887, inside the Diário de Notícias’s Folhetim section. We based our analysis in the studies of Jésus Martín-Barbero about the feuilleton’s enunciation mechanisms. With this research, we tried to investigate how the publishing market characterized itself in Belém, asking about the relation between the public’s taste and the strong presence of French writers, and the marketing’s relations between publishers and booksellers. In this way, the relevance of the studies in History of Book Lectures is emphasized, for it allows us a recovering work of information to the memory of the History of Brazilian Literature.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Mário Faustino e seus ciclos tradutórios: do arte-literatura ao poesia-experiência(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2014-03-31) ALMEIDA, Dayana Crystina Barbosa de; GUIMARÃES, Mayara; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6834076554286321; LEAL, Izabela Guimarães Guerra; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2507019514021007This work has as its goal analyzing how the intertextuality of the writers T. S. Eliot, James Joyce, Robert Stock, Emily Dickinson, Walt Whitman and Ezra Pound, occurs in the literary work of Mario Faustino. According to Bosi (1994) and Benedito Nunes (1985), the poetry of Faustino results of the various authors that he read in different moments, as in: Mallarme, Yeats, Rilke, cummings, Joyce and Pound, From Pound he used the motto “make it new”. The motto of Pound takes back directly or indirectly the voice of other authors in some of Faustino's poems. This fact was always taken as practical confirmations. That’s how we defined some parameters to choose which authors would be studied: We are going to use only Anglophone authors, and among them, only authors that Faustino translated in some literary supplement and in one magazine. Going from these points, the authors were divided in two cycles: The North cycle that contains the Art-Literature supplement and the North magazine; the Southeast that contains the Poetry-Experience supplement. In both cycles, we try to demonstrate how the author’s presences are felt in Faustino's works, by means of the creations of new poems based by the poems of Anglophone authors or by means of the incorporations of elements that define the characteristics of a single Anglophone author. In this work it is presented some considerations according to: Chaves (1986) Kristeva (1974) e Bakhtin (2003; 2006), Santiago (1978), Nunes (1985; 1986; 1997; 2009) e Campos (1977; 1992).According to Compagnon (2007) we can notice the reconstruction of the words. In this case, In this case, in the analyzes of the translations made by Faustino and his own work in which each step is a bond of an immense plot that links this text to other read texts and that were “cut out”, that are manipulated by one person at the same time author and reader (Faustino). This way the author/ reader, has practice working on quoting, that means, retell what was told by others.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A memória das representações de morte e AIDS no conto e no cinema na década de 80(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-08-23) ARAÚJO, Francisco José Corrêa de; SARMENTO-PANTOJA, Carlos Augusto Nascimento; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3263239932031945The present dissertation entitled "The Memory of Representations of Death and SIDA in the 80's in the Short story and Cinema" analyzes how the memory of the representations of death and aids in the contisio of Caio Fernando Abreu and in the cinematographic production of the end of the decade was constituted. 80. Therefore, in this process we resort to literary, historical, sociological, philosophical and artistics contributions regarding the relations between memory, death and SIDA. The 1980s were marked by the discovery of SIDA and this discovery generated worldwide fear because of the high levels of disease lethality. We can say that the discovery of the HIV virus "immobilized" science, because it was responsible for provoking a set of traumatic situations, which involved silencing, prejudice and entanglement. Therefore, we seek to identify the memory-building process in the history of death and SIDA representations in Brazil, to recognize how Caio Fernando Abreu, in The Dragons do not know paradise (1988), represents death by relating it to SIDA using a literary language of resistance, and reflect on the testimonial content of the film: Crossroads (Directed by Rob Epstein, USA / 1989). The research proposed here follows a methodology of bibliographic study in which we conclude that the memory of SIDA in the 80s reveals a representation of catastrophic death and silencer, marked by prejudice and inefficiency of public policies, but also witnesses the resistance of social movements for the conquest of rights. Thus, the existence of a collective memory that represented the historical reality of SIDA enables us to hope for better days where the human being is more harmoniously related to death, where there is greater understanding of the difference between living with HIV and dying of SIDA. And in this textual construction literature still has much to contribute to breaking the silences that surround the temporality of existing.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Poética do fracasso: utopia, memória e esquecimento em “os Detetives selvagens” de Roberto Bolaño(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-08-28) LOUREIRO JÚNIOR, João Pereira; ALMEIDA, Carlos Henrique Lopes de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9511564560016368Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Pronomes em parkatêjê: a expressão da terceira pessoa(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016-01-29) SILVA, Nandra Ribeiro; FERREIRA, Marília de Nazaré de Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4291543797221091; GALUCIO, Ana Vilacy Moreira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3697197245602067The Parkatêjê language is a member of the Timbira dialect complex spoken in the southeast of Pará, near the town of Bom Jesus do Tocantins. This language has two series of personal pronouns (free and bound) that receive case and number markers. The two series, according to Ferreira (2003), distinguish first and second persons, however a specific form for the third person referents had not been described. This dissertation describes the expression of the third person in Parkatêjê pronominals, and compares them to the third person pronouns forms described for other northern Jê languages, such as Mēbēngokrê, Krahô, Pykobjê and Apãniekrá.
