Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Adesão ao tratamento do hipotireoidismo congênito segundo relato de cuidadores(2010-04) OLIVEIRA, Fabiana Pereira Sabino de; FERREIRA, Eleonora Arnaud PereiraThis study aims at identifying variables which interfere on the entry into the treatment according to reports of caregivers of children suffering from Congenital Hypothyroidism seen at the Center of Reference in Pará State. Fifty main caregivers, with different degrees of kinship to the children and ranging from 17 to 55 years old, took part in this study. The variables related to the treatment entry were identified by means of interviews with the caregivers following structured pilot instructions. Results showed that most of the caregivers are not aware of the characteristics of the disease, its etiology, diagnosis, treatment and prognostic, regardless the age, school degree, kinship and amount of time the child is on the Program, which makes the treatment entry more difficult. In most children, the Newborn Screening Test was not done in the right time, fact that brought damage to the treatment.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Adesão ao tratamento por cuidadores de crianças e adolescentes soropositivos para o HIV(2011-12) SALLES, Caroline Mota Branco; FERREIRA, Eleonora Arnaud Pereira; SEIDL, Eliane Maria FleuryThis study aimed to investigate the pattern of adherence of caregivers of HIV seropositive children and adolescents and to identify the coping strategies against the stressors of seropositivity. The 30 caregivers that participated in the study responded to a semi-structured interview and a scale of how to cope with problems. A clinical record was used as a secondary data source. The caregivers were classified in an adhesion group (n=25) and non-adhesion group (n=5), based on their behavior related to the use of antiretroviral medicaments and other criteria. No significant differences were found in coping strategies between the groups, except in the strategy based on religiosity/fantasy thinking. The results provide a basis for interventions aimed at reducing psychosocial impacts of HIV.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Comportamento de crianças, acompanhantes e auxiliares de enfermagem durante sessão de punção venosa(2010-09) LEMOS, Isabela Porpino; FERREIRA, Eleonora Arnaud PereiraThis study describes the behavioral repertoire of fourteen children, aged 4-12 years old, with cancer diagnoses, during a venepuncture procedure for chemotherapy, and of their caregivers and nursing assistants. Data collection was accomplished through direct observation with the use of the Observation Scale of Behavior Distress. Three systems of behavior categories were used (for children, caregivers and nursing assistants). There were no significant differences between concurrent and non-concurrent behaviors of preschool and school children. There was greater behavioral variability among caregivers of pre-school children and higher frequency of verbal behaviors directed to school children among nursing assistants. It is discussed the need of psychological preparation for invasive procedures in pediatric oncology.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Crenças de mães e professoras sobre o desenvolvimento da criança(2011-04) BAHIA, Celi da Costa Silva; MAGALHÃES, Celina Maria Colino; PONTES, Fernando Augusto RamosStudies have shown a link between the way the adults think and the forms they become related with the children. This study had as objective to know the mothers and teachers' beliefs about the development of the child who frequents the day-care center to identify if the beliefs had characteristics of abilities or dysfunctions. Twenty-eight adults had participated in this study (16 mothers and 12 teachers). To collect the data it was utilized the focal group and to interpret them, the analysis of the content. The results had pointed that the participants have the same belief (environmentalist) about the development, but have different conceptions about the direction where the familiar context and/or of the day-care center influences in the development. The analysis indicates that the initial and continued formation of the professionals needs to contemplate specific aspects of the children development so the more adjusted beliefs can be constructed and shared with the families of children who frequent collective environments.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Hermenêutica gestáltica de uma violência sexual intrafamiliar(2009-12) PIMENTEL, Adelma do Socorro Gonçalves; ARAÚJO, Lucivaldo da SilvaThis article shows the results of a qualitative research of orientation phenomenological-existential gestalt, which aimed to reveal some meanings attributed to the sexual violence inside family. It was configured as a case study in which the informant , from 9 to 11 years, was victimized by her father. The data were obtained in ONG República of Emaús, contemplating reading of documents, informal reports, participant observation and interview. The analysis conjugated, whenever possible, the theory of the interpretation of Ricoeur, concepts of the Gestalt-therapy (contact, figure-bottom and psychological nutrition) and of the Occupational Therapy (areas, components and acting contexts). Units of significance agglutinated meanings of the speech, that revealed positive aspects such as revelation of the experience, expansion of some contact borders and presentation of the weight of the lived experience sometimes as illustration other as bottom and negative aspects: repercussions own-contact without functionality, in the contact with the other and in some acting areas.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Processos de saúde e doença entre crianças institucionalizadas: uma visão ecológica(2009-04) CAVALCANTE, Lília Iêda Chaves; MAGALHÃES, Celina Maria Colino; PONTES, Fernando Augusto RamosThis article discusses aspects of health and disease processes among children attended in a child shelter of the city of Belém between 2004 and 2005. The data were collected from documental sources and through interviews with technicians of the institution. From a total of 287 children, 49.47% presented diseases, deficiencies and injuries when being admitted to the shelter, probably associated to the situation of poverty and negligence they were exposed to since they were born. During their permanence in the shelter, it was verified that the children contracted infecto-contagious diseases (42.5%) and manifested problems of emotional nature (18.83%) that can be related to the environmental characteristic of the institution - inadequate proportion adult/children (1:8) and overcrowding (75/month). The results allow concluding that the children's health conditions reflect the situation of material and emotional privation to which they were exposed when living with the family and during their permanence in the shelter. In this sense, the health and disease processes are discussed from an ecological perspective that recognizes the biological, social and cultural factors that constitute the family and the shelter as developmental contexts of the institutionalized child.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Treino em auto-observação e adesão à dieta em adulto com diabetes tipo 2(2009-12) FERREIRA, Eleonora Arnaud Pereira; FERNANDES, Andressa LacerdaThe present study verified the effects of self-observation over the adherence to a prescribed diet for an adult with Type 2-diabetes. The data collection was brought up by means of home interviews. Following the baseline determination, the following steps were performed: a training on the use of protocols for self-monitoring registration (Step 1), a training on the patient's verbal report over his feeding on the former day (Step 2), and a training on how to plan the adherence to the diet (Step 3). The calculation of the patient's Adherence Index to the Diet (AID) along with his verbal reports guided the data analysis, which revealed an increase in the frequency of self-observation of feeding behavior and in the AID on Step 1. This gain was maintained on Step 2 and further maximized by the training on planning the adherence to the diet on Step 3.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Treino em automonitoração e comportamentos de prevenção de diabetes tipo 2(2012-03) CASSEB, Mariene da Silva; FERREIRA, Eleonora Arnaud PereiraThis study investigated the effects of self-monitoring training for the implementation and expansion of behavioral repertoires considered as preventive in the occurrence of diabetes. The results point to behavioral changes regarding the implementation and broadening of healthy eating habits and regular physical activity. The discussion of the case includes aspects that indicate the acquisition of preventive behaviors, relating them to the literature used.
