Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Acesso à literatura técnico-científica por discentes cegos da Universidade Federal do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-06-07) PINHEIRO, Alexandre Lobo; OLIVEIRA, Hamilton Vieira de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3172995771315859People who have visual disabilities find many barriers to access to information, such as the technical-scientific literature, widely used by university students, because the lack of accessible bibliographic material is still big. This research intends to analyze the problems around the access to bibliographic material by blind students of Federal University of Pará. The general objective is to investigate the processes that involve the technical-scientific literature access by blind students of Federal University of Pará. The specifics are: a) To promote a discussion about the mediation of information to people with disabilities as a field of study in information science; b) To discuss about legal aspects and actions related to access to information for people with disabilities; c) To identify barriers and strategies for access to the technical-scientific literature of the blind students of Federal University of Pará; d) To analyze the processes that involve the mediation of the information for the technical-scientific literature access by blind students of Federal University of Pará. This is an exploratory study in which a case study will be carried out with theoretical contributions of the bibliographical survey and field research with data collection instruments through documents and interviews that can support the study. The interviews were taken to the blind Federal University of Pará students and the librarians who work in the Braille Space of the Central Library at UFPA. Based on the collected data, categories of analysis were established based on the declarations issued by the social subjects involved in comparison with the literature of the area of Information Science and those related to people with disabilities. The results show that in the process that involves access to the technical-scientific literature by blind UFPA students there are barriers in the scope of the student-teacher relationship and others related to the availability of bibliographical material in an accessible format. These barriers have negative consequences on the performance of these students in the development of their academic activities, as in the concept of the disciplines. It is concluded that overcoming these barriers depends on efforts already underway and more investments in factors with the potential to eliminate or overcome them as human resources, technology and interinstitutional partnerships.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Mediação da informação para público com deficiência: em foco a biblioteca da Escola de Aplicação da Universidade Federal do Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2022-05-30) COSTA, Ana Cristina de Almeida; CHALUB, Tânia; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6737749200665570The mediation of information can be seen as a guarantee of accessibility, especially in the context of Inclusive Education, creating possibilities for special education students to acquire information skills for reading, researching and using information technology. It is important to know the difficulties and potential of these users in order to offer products and services to mediate information, helping the school to promote Inclusive Education. The present research has as general objective to analyze the information mediation practices for students with disabilities in the School of Application of the Federal University of Pará (EAUFPA) library. The research universe was composed by the school library of the School of Application of the Federal University of Pará. The research has a descriptive character and is classified as a Case Study focusing on the inclusive practices of the EAUFPA library. A Case Study was carried out with the field diary as an instrument for recording the data collected in the institutional documents and in the activities with professional servants who work at EAUFPA. An analysis of documents of the practice in the referred field in the last ten (10) years was carried out. At the end of the collection, the data obtained were organized in a qualitative way, through content analysis. At the end of the study, it was possible to observe that the EA library has been developing some inclusive practices and has been concerned with improving the mediation of information for the public with disabilities, with the guidelines of the Inclusive Education Coordination. However, it still needs to go a long way to reach accessibility, mainly instrumental. The study thus brings information and thougths that can help in the realization of projects that include all students of that school, regardless of conditions, characteristics and possibilities.
