Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Apropriação teórica e formação de professores na graduação em Letras: o processo enunciativo em análise(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2017-11-08) PEREIRA, Eunice Braga; FAIRCHILD, Thomas Massao; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1771292039081039In this work we will present the results obtained from the research developed in the PhD program in Language and Arts of UFPA (Federal University of Pará). In this research, we will investigate the theoretical appropriation as it is understood as a fundamental part of the teacher training process. We seek to answer the following question: what kind of relation do the undergraduate students that are considered training teachers establish in their speeches according to the different theoretical frameworks presented to them during the language and arts course? The initial hypothesis is that as long as there is no theoretical appropriation in fact, the theory will not have a constitutive role in the students' discursive practices neither in their training for future teaching work. Thus, our general objective is to understand how English and Arts undergraduate students appropriate and mobilize the theoretical constructs taught in the course which will be or should be used in their future professional activity as teachers. The corpus used is composed of two types of academic productions carried out by undergraduate students: 1) Online didactic interactions carried out in a social network when it is re-designated as a teaching platform; these data are the result of an educational project executed in the undergraduation of Language Major in Portuguese of the Federal University of Pará for two years; 2) Written productions more common in academic environment such as internship report , essays and thesis, also held at Federal University of Pará. As a theoretical contribution, we work with The Polyphonic Theory of Ducrot (1987) and also the Theory of Semantic Blocks (TSB) by the same author; we also applied the Authier-Revuz framework (1990, 1998, 2004) on discursive heterogeneities; we also resort to some features of Foucault's enunciative analysis (1999, 2014), mainly the concepts of ritual and discipline. Amazonian communities that had been concealed by the narrative of the majority groups of the Amazon belle époque period, which took place during the gomiferous economic cycle, and these communities were hidden from the conformation narrative of the city. In this cycle there was an enunciative agency of Euro-indigenous essentiality, fed through an artistic production committed to the State apparatus. It is interesting for this paper what the referred works have of Minor Literature, working with the signs of Afro-Amazonian territorializations in the city of Belém, erasing the origin genealogies that generate racisms and hierarchies, which diminished the African descent participation in the Amazonian history. As tools for reading the studied works will be used Comparative Studies, as well as Cultural Studies, in a transdisciplinary perspective.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Corpo, linguagem e transgressão em lavoura(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-02-26) SANTOS, Elijames Moraes dos; GUIMARÃES, Mayara Ribeiro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6834076554286321This thesis titled Body, language and transgression in Ancient Tillage is a study on issues related to the eroticism of bodies, and the transgressions that take a place in and by the language of the novel's narrative, by Raduan Nassar, published in 1975. I proceed with the hypothesis of in Ancient Tillage, there is a conflict between instinct and reason, which are unfolded in the narrative discourses through an allegorical language. Therefore, it is through the body's instinct which the subject violates the patriarchal norm and, at the same time, reveals how desire and sexuality are forbidden. For this purpose, the theoretical path used to support this study is based on the work of Georges Bataille (2016; 2017; 2018), by Walter Benjamin (1984; 2013, b); Michel Foucault (1977; 1988) and Sigmund Freud (2006; 2011; 2013); Giorgio Agamben (2007) and Mircea Eliade (2001). I aim at in Ancient Tillage narrative is based on a language that transits an eroticized poetics, which reveals the subject's instincts and their conflicts. Indeed, there is a confrontation between reason, the world of patriarchal values, and the subversion of the son who leaves the family home and goes in search of new achievements. It is with André's departure that the problems related to the issue of forbidding desires and passions are revealed. Thus, this body carries within itself the unmeasured, which will be revealed by the fragmented form, the emptiness, and in turn by the ruin that spreads over the other members of the family. With this, from the theoretical set outlined here, it was possible to present a discussion around Raduan Nassar´s narrative regarding the presence of the body, its impulses, among other issues that are in the order of violation of the norm, the law, that is, what is forbidden by the father. I reinforce, therefore, that there were some developments through allegories inherent to the language of the corpus, which reveals the fragmentation of a body that emanates the tragic.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Desamparo e insulamento nas obras literárias a "Ilha da Ira", de João de Jesus Paes Loureiro e "Órfãos do Eldorado, de Milton Hatoum(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-09-12) FERREIRA, Lourdes Nazaré Sousa; SARMENTO-PANTOJA, Tânia Maria Pereira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3707451019100958The present thesis sought to analyze two contemporary literary works, the novel Orphans do Eldorado de Milton Hatoum (2008), and the play The Island of Wrath, by João de Jesus Paes Loureiro, present in the book "Collected works: theaters and essays" (1976). The discursive voices that resonate with the characters in the narratives were important to answer the argument that this thesis is based on: the concept of helplessness as understood throughout the centuries proves sufficient to account for the anguished and traumatized experiences erected in the literary text . And since it is always necessary to construct meanings to represent psychic aspects, this study was based on the observation of all the expressive theoretical procedures for textual composition. It becomes fundamental to clarify, in view of the proposition that was exposed and evaluated in this work, the terms insulation and helplessness. Therefore, the objective of this work was to perform a comparative reading of the two works, verifying through the discourses of the characters how the helplessness is revealed in a literary production from the twentieth century. Through this bias, the developed reflection focused on visions undertaken through a theoretical-investigative study based mainly on a transdisciplinary theoretical framework with Freudian psychoanalysis, in order to broaden the view on helplessness as it emerges from the literary space. These discussions found their main theoretical support in the books Inhibitions, Symptoms and Anguish, by Sigmund Freud (1996), Birman (1999), Camon (1990), Maffesoli (1987), Michaud (2001), among other theorists whose contribution was thorough relevance as a way of presenting the arguments, their contexts and the relations they have with the core of the research. The research allowed to identify in the works of the corpus, the existence, as a metaphorical arsenal of sensations and affections that are manifested with immense force representative of universalizing behaviors and conflicts, such as loneliness, anguish, violence, abandonment, lack. For this reason, the abandonment will be understood, in this study, that in erecting contemporary literary productions will present itself as an aggregator of affections and senses being pertinent to take it as a paradigm or analytical tool for the understanding of other similar fictional texts.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O discurso do Infilmável: formas de pensar a adaptação entre literatura e cinema(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2023-09-11) LOUREIRO JUNIOR, João Pereira; SARMENTO-PANTOJA, Carlos Augusto Nascimento; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3263239932031945; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0552-4295This thesis reflects on the discourse of the infilmable from the representation of the impossibility in the translation process between literature and cinema, potential justification to evidence a supposed aesthetic impediment in the interartistic relationship the literary and the filmic. To discuss the ways of thinking adaptation from this perspective, we assume that the unfalmable reveals the conflictive relationship between what is proposed to be done (from mechanisms and resources built in the making of the script) and what materialized as an adapted product. This occurs through an intense process of searching for the film and finding solutions to assume the particularity of the cinematographic work, which in the filmable, is as unfalmable, because all cinematic translation is a possibility, a desire to transform aesthetic creation into a language in all its imagery potential. To analyze the constitution of the unfalmable discourses, we used several theoretical frameworks in the field of adaptation that helped us in the research. To discuss relational constructions around the game literature, cinema and translation, we used authors such as Borges (2007), Benjamin (2008), Llosa (2004), Cândido (1972), Adorno (1970), Bernardet (1985). When we discuss the unfalmable, starting from a conceptual, etymological, semantic, linguistic and historical perspective, to reach the places of speech that feed the term, we use authors such as Stam (2008), Avellar (2007), Bazin (1991). To support our readings on translation, adaptation and other related concepts, we propose a dialogue with Figueiredo (2010), Sanchez Noriega (2001), Plaza (2003), Seger (2007), Hutcheon (2013). In order to enhance our discussion, we analyzed some adaptations of films/TV series, based on Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes, we used as theoretical contribution scholars such as León (2015); Hidalgo and Arruda (2020), Morell (2022) Silva (2016), Johnson (2003). To apprehend the senses effects of the discursive experiences in the work context, there is the guiding question: How to understand the tension inherent to the discourses that imply the figure of the cowherd, still rooted to the traditions, and the contemporary, more distanced from them? For this purpose, the theoretical and analytical path is intertwined with the theoretical and methodological framework of Discourse Analysis (DA), based on the postulates of Dominique Maingueneau, focusing on the concepts of de deixis, discursive practice, enunciation scenes, simulacrum, and polemic, to think about productive activities in the labor universe, in a construction that is mediated discursively. Added to these contributions are the principles of Ergology, based on the postulates of Yves Schwartz, to think about the relationship between language and work, in the reference made to the prescriptions of work and the performance of the cowherd in the daily toil. The narratives of life, based on the postulates of Daniel Bertaux, are used to think about the access to the discourses about the work of the cowherd, in the telling of the experiences of the work in a space in which the enunciation acquires meaning. The investigation was carried out through narrative interviews, with subsequent transcription, which constituted a point of articulation between the phenomena of language and the work of the cowherd and how professional identity is constructed in a discursive practice. The choice of the theme is justified by the relevance of the studies on Marajoara cowherding, and to contribute to the discussion around a discursive subject thought from a place. In this direction, the locus of the investigation concentrates on ten farms located in the fields in Marajó, municipality of Soure. The focus is on the articulation of two analytical corpora: the life narratives of sixteen Marajoara cowherds, distributed in four categories of professionals, whether they are day laborers, effective, foremen, and retired; and Law 12870/2013, which regulates the profession of the cowherd. This deepens the recognition of an interdiscursive operation between the meanings produced in the legal field and the meanings produced in the labor field. In the foundations on which the analyses are built, the voices that narrate weave a network of discursive relations implied in the saying of oneself and of work with a register of significant marks in the production of meanings in the historically marked activity of cowherding in this region of the fields of Marajó.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Eles muitos cavalos e pssica: a literatura brasileira contemporânea imersa no caleidoscópio citadino(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2025-02-11) COELHO, Luana da Silva; PEREIRA, Helena Bonito Couto; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9240687015870539Based on the assumption of the complexity of life in urban centers, which causes social and psychological impacts on the individuals who constitute this reality, this work seeks to analyze how this space is being represented in contemporary Brazilian literature, focusing on the novels Eles eram muitos cavalos (2001) by Luiz Ruffato from Minas Gerais and Pssica (2015) by Edyr Augusto from Pará. With the help of bibliographical research method and comparative literature, the aim is therefore to analyze the city as a space-character in the aforementioned novels, guided by the marks of Romanesque fragmentation, discussed by authors such as Sá (2007), Hossne (2007), Ricciardi (2007) and Macedo (2007); the forms of contemporary realism, based mainly on Schøllhammer (2009; 2012; 2013), the influences of cinematographic montagem techniques, elaborated by Eisenstein (1990), Leone & Mourão (1993), Stam (2000) and Carone (1973) and traces of the detective novel, theorized by Reimão (1983) and Massi (2011). In view of this, since the city is a theme that permeates the history of Brazilian literature, it can be inferred that its recurrent presence in contemporary writing is notable, since it is the locus that brings together a set of social ills. This theme has captured the attention of writers in today's context, being treated in different ways and represented through writing techniques that permeate the simultaneity of events occurring in big metropolises and influenced by the chronotope in which each author and work are inserted – from São Paulo, as in Ruffato's novel, to Belém and the Amazon region, as in Edyr's case.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Ensino e aprendizagem de línguas adicionais na complexidade: a emergência do método por projetos(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-08-22) CARNEIRO, Tiago da Fonseca; MAGNO E SILVA, Walkyria Alydia Grahl Passos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6129530461830312; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8572-147XProject-Based Learning (PBL) has increasingly garnered attention in both international and national discussions as it aims to bring students closer to everyday issues of high relevance in their communities, as well as to 21st-century life skills and competencies. This approach allows the learning of school content to emerge from reflecting on these community problems and challenges (Bender, 2014). Thus, PBL meets the demands outlined in the Brazilian National Common Core Curriculum (BNCC) by making learning meaningful in its context and time. However, in the context of additional language teaching and learning (ALTL), the absence of a Project-Based Method (PBM) grounded in discussions specific to Applied Linguistics (AL) poses challenges for teachers in its implementation, particularly when considering the classroom as a complex adaptive system (CAS). In view of this, the general objective of this study is to propose the PBM in light of complexity theory. Specifically, the following objectives were met: 1) to situate the PBM within AL by referencing the approach from which it derives, namely the Multiple Intelligences Approach; 2) to describe how the design of the PBM functions as an initial condition for PBL; and 3) to indicate how viewing the classroom as a hologram can support teachers in using the PBM as a complex method. Regarding the methodology, we conducted action research with first-year high school students at a public school in Belém, employing the following research instruments: focus group, observation protocol, and evaluation protocol. The results indicate that the PBM proposal and the suggestion of underlying procedures mitigated the difficulty of incorporating elements of PBL into ALTL, particularly due to the emergence of the managerial axis. Furthermore, it was confirmed that the PBM should operate as an initial condition, with its design being open to contingencies, and that viewing the classroom as a hologram facilitates the retroactive adaptation of the method's design. Prospectively, we hope that the PBM can support the implementation of a bilingual curriculum at the aforementioned school, as it can be utilized as a method within another approach, namely Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL).Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Entre cabeças, olhos e boca: transitanto por Moqueca de maridos e História do olho(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-12-22) FERNANDEZ, Rafaella Dias; LEAL, Izabela Guimarães Guerra; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2507019514021007This thesis begins with a reflection on the reading of the myth of creation and the destruction of the world for the Tupinambá people. From this narrative, a fundamental element emerges for this people: the land without evil. After a reflection on the importance of this land to the Tupinambá, it is observed that revenge and anthropophagy are vectors of strength and help to build the memory of this indigenous people. These two components, so primordial to the Tupinambá, also emerge as essential elements to understand the narratives present in anthropologist Betty Mindlin's book, Barbecued Husbands – and other stories from the amazon. Written by the anthropologist and indigenous narrators of six ethnic groups: Makurap, Tupari, Wajuru, Djeoromitxí, Arikapú and Aruá. It is worth pointing that the six indigenous peoples who build the records of the myths in the book derive from the Tupi trunk, just like Tupinambá’s. After the reading, there was a constant presence of revenge, murders, torture, eroticism and anthropophagy. Hence, it is proposed to analyze the symbolic meaning of each vector present in the indigenous narratives and its probable correlation with the novel Story of the Eye, by Georges Bataille. These two readings, far from being conflicting, catch the intrinsic connection between two fields considered distinct: indigenous myths and Western literature. After an investigative analysis, it was found that there are points where both seem to resonate one another. Thus, in what sense is it possible to think of convergences between myths and the bataillian novel? What is the symbolic meaning of violence, eroticism and anthropophagy in both? Thus, the central objective of this thesis is to propose a comparative analysis between the works and problematize the metaphorical sense of eroticism, anthropophagy and violence in each of the works. The convergence between French literature and indigenous erotic myths was thought by Eliane Robert Moraes, a scholar of eroticism in Brazil. The author places a brief correspondence between the two by stating that the indigenous imaginary seems quite familiar to those who know modern erotic literature. To accomplish this work, we are based mainly on the studies of Georges Bataille, Eroticism (2013) and Literature and evil (2015), by Georges Didi-Huberman, La Ressemblance Informe ou le Gai Savoir Visual selon Georges Bataille (2015), and the anthropologist Eduardo Viveiros de Castro, A inconstância da alma selvagem (2016). Thereby, in order to give breath to an unprecedented work of comparison between both, we aim to propose thematic resonances and highlight the differences in the two readings.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Entre críticas e aplausos: os caminhos da consagração dos contos machadianos(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-04-06) CASTRO, Valdiney Valente Lobato de; SALES, Germana Maria Araújo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8723885160615840Newspaper was the main means through where literature was conducted in the second half of nineteenth century, reaching, as locomotive, diverse readers in different spaces. Great part of these individuals was highly educated and would follow avidly the literary production conveyed in pamphlets. Machadian short-stories are among these compositions. Even though specialized critics appreciated this type of work as an eclipsed form of other successful genres, the production has toured newspapers’ pages for almost half century and helped consecrate Machado de Assis’ name much before the edition of his first novel. In 1870, with more than thirty written short stories, the author began to gather these narratives in collectanea and publish them, reaching a significant amount of printing and sale to editors at expressive values, resulting in seven anthologies: Contos Fluminenses (1870), Histórias da Meia Noite (1873), Papéis Avulsos (1882), Histórias sem Data (1884), Várias Histórias (1896), Páginas Recolhidas (1899) and Relíquias da Casa Velha (1906). When these selections won the streets, public papers of Rio de Janeiro released disclosure notes, comments of readers, advertisements, and critics, what reveals great attention of reception. To analyze such writings is the main aim of this study. As well as comparing to the judgment built for decades upon the short stories that currently results in an estimable critical fortune. However, many times primary sources such as contracts, manuscripts, letters, and newspapers themselves where the short stories were originally edited have been underestimated. Considering these collections for organizing collectanea is also the aim of this thesis, once Machado, when selecting them, would concern about the representation he wanted to build on readers, as prefaces and letters to his editors well reveal. The reading of texts published in the Brazilian gazette through the launching of short-stories volumes might help framing the understanding Machado had about his readers as to conceive the reception’s judgment criteria of readers in relation to the author’s publishing.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Estudo do léxico da língua Apurinã uma proposta de macro e microestrura para o dicionário Apurinã(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2020-02-28) PADOVANI, Bruna Fernanda Soares de Lima; FACUNDES, Sidney da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9502308340482231; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7460-8620This thesis aims to describe and analyze the lexicon of the Apurinã language (Aruák) with the purpose of elaborating a bilingual bi-directional general Apurinã-Portuguese/Portuguese- Apurinã dictionary. Apurinã is an indigenous ethnicity and a minority language spoken mainly in communities scattered along the banks of several tributaries of the Purus River in the south part of the state of Amazonas. This work sought to articulate academic and social objectives in which, on one hand, we have the description and analysis of the lexical system of the Apurinã language and, on the other, a comprehensive documentation of this language in order to ensure written registration of it, helping the Apurinã people in their native language teaching-learning and literacy initiatives. It is noteworthy that, in the case of Apurinã and other Brazilian indigenous languages, the importance of the latter aspect is increasing, since indigenous languages are in danger of extinction. To this end, this thesis was organized in two volumes. The first volume consists in four parts, which in turn consist of seven chapters. The second volume presents the Apurinã dictionary, product of this thesis. In the first part of the first volume entitled, Initial Considerations, we have in the first chapter an introduction to some general characteristics of the language, culture, and territory of the Apurinã people, as well as the context of the research; in the second chapter we present the theoretical contributions necessary for its construction; in the third chapter we discuss about the construction and organization of the corpus used in this research. In the second part, Apurinã Lexicon Structure, we present in the fourth chapter an overview of the phonetic-phonological aspects of Apurinã, where we show the inventory of vowels and consonants, pointing out the variations that occur involving some segments, and the different language spelling proposals; in the fifth chapter we focus on the open lexical categories of the language, beginning with the description of nouns, their subcategories, discuss the processes of lexical innovation, linguistic variation and the phenomenon of double vocabulary, then deal with verbs and their subcategories. In the sixth chapter, we deal with the closed lexical categories (pronouns, demonstratives, interrogative words, floating particles and morphemes), pointing out their main characteristics and functions. In the third part, Apurinã Dictionary, which is made up of the seventh chapter, we discuss how the dictionary was organized and the decisions made regarding the proposed macro and microstructure. The fourth part of this thesis, Final Considerations, is composed by the conclusions, where we make an overview of the work and the possible developments that can be explored from the dictionary, for example, an electronic version of the dictionary, pedagogical dictionaries, glossaries of specific fields of the Apurinã culture and thematic booklets; the appendixes are formed by small texts collected exclusively for this research; and by the questionnaires. However, the current configuration of modern societies has led the area to accept the importance of sociolinguistic factors and linguistic contacts in understanding linguistic phenomena, and, from that moment on, to consider other dimensions in which a natural language can vary. The current thesis was carried out within the geosociolinguistic and/or multi-dimensional perspective. It sought to investigate the lexical variation of Portuguese spoken in Tupí-Guaraní indigenous areas in the states of Pará and Maranhão in the light of the Pluridimensional and Relational Dialectology proposed by Radtke and Thun (1999), Thun (1998, 2000, 2010, 2017), which combines the horizontal (diatopic) dimension with the vertical (diastratic) dimension and the studies by Cardoso (2010), Cardoso and Mota (2016) Razky (1998, 2010), Elizaincín (2010), Calvet (2002), Romaine (1996), Chambers and Trudgill (1998), Trudgill (1999) and Berruto (2010). Four indigenous lands were studied: Trocará (Asuriní do Tocantins/PA), Nova Jacundá (Guaraní Mbyá/PA), Sororó (Suruí Aikewára/PA) and Cana Brava (Guajajára/MA), which are the diatopic dimension of this study. In each community, we sought to interview ten participants. The dimensions considered were the diagenerational (5 to 10 years – Age group C, 18 to 37 years – Age group A, 47 to 75 years – Age group B); the diageneric (male and female), and the diastratic (not educated or educated until the 8th grade (9th grade) and educated from the 1st grade of high school). In addition to the previously mentioned dimensions, the dialingual one (referring to the contact between two or more languages in a language community) was also considered in the research. The dialingual dimension was broadly contemplated by the following linguistic contact relationships: Portuguese/Asuriní from Tocantins; Portuguese/Guaraní Mbyá, Portuguese/Suruí Aikewára and Portuguese/Guajajára. Data collection was carried out on-site and employed the Semantic-Lexical Questionnaire (QSL) of the Brazilian Linguistic Atlas (ALiB) Project. In addition, the situation of bilingualism in the studied communities was observed through the Sociolinguistic Questionnaire (QS). In general, the results show that the lexicon of Portuguese spoken in the studied indigenous lands reflect a continuum, both in the indigenous area considered in data collection and in non-indigenous areas where the ethnic communities are located. The study is based on a corpus of English texts that have been translated online into Portuguese. The study shows that, on the one hand, the translation process bears similarities to traditional translation practices and strategies while, on the other hand, the actors move flexibly between the different roles, adapting themselves easily to the various possibilities that a virtual environment offers. Characteristic of fanfiction in translation is that it is a dual process of 'rewriting': on the one hand, the creation by fans (readers / writers) of new stories based on existing characters and plots, and on the other hand, the translation itself, which can be described as a process of "rewriting". According to the definition of Lefevere (1995), all translation is a form of rewriting of an 'original', a process related to power relations embedded in a particular social context. After introducing the concept of translation as ‘rewriting’, the specific aspects of the translation of fanfiction as a process of 'rewriting' are analyzed, such as the temporal aspect (the ‘pace’ of translation) and the relationship between author / reader of fanfiction and his / her translator (s). The analysis makes clear that in the digital age, the relationship between entities such as author, reader and translator has become extremely complex and that these entities can no longer be considered or observed as fixed and distinct realities. The roles and functions that are observed are interchangeable and this plasticity is accentuated by the use of technology (machines), which transforms the actors into 'cyborgs', able to simultaneously assume the role of author, reader and translator. Traditional dichotomies such as ‘writer’ versus ‘reader’, ‘reader’ versus ‘translator’, or ‘translator’ versus ‘reviewer’ have changed substantially in cyberspace. The cyborg-translator is both part of the real world and the parallel world of the Internet; from behind of his / her machine he/she participates in various fields, assumes distinct roles and interacts with readers and writers. The generalized access to the Internet raises questions regarding the future of the practice of writing, reading and translating. Is it possible that the boundaries between writer, reader and translator will be erased in the digital age and that the different roles can be adopted simultaneously by the different actors? From the perspective of the humanities, the digital era requires us to reconsider traditional categories of division of labor separated from each other by sharp boundaries. The rise of the internet has created new genres and makes participation in the cyberspace possible to what was once limited to only part of the population. In Liquid Modernity (2001), Bauman states that patterns of human interaction and dependency, as compared to previous generations, have become malleable in an unimaginable way, but also that their shape - just like all liquids - does not remain stable. By analogy with this observation, we can say that some traditional dichotomies that once helped us to understand and analyze our society, are evaporating or beginning to merge one into another. Bauman’s metaphor can be applied to the study of literature and translation in the digital age, characterized by actors moving in different directions. By analogy with the notion of fluidity, this thesis based on a corpus of translations of fanfiction studies the changed roles of reader, author, and translator in the digital age and its significance for the traditional dichotomies of literature and translation studies.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A figuração da mulher em Dalcídio Jurandir: entre o desamparo, a opressão e a transgressão(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-05-24) SANTOS, Alinnie Oliveira Andrade; FURTADO, Marli Tereza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2382303554607592Dalcídio Jurandir (1909-1979), Brazilian writer, published eleven novels, ten of which make it part of the called Ciclo do Extremo Norte: Chove nos campos de Cachoeira (1941), Marajó (1947), Três casas e um rio (1958), Belém do Grão Pará (1960), Passagem dos Inocentes (1963), Primeira manhã (1967), Ponte do Galo (1971), Os Habitantes (1976), Chão dos Lobos (1976) and Ribanceira (1978) that thematize about man and the Amazon region customs. Even though in these novels men occupy the position of protagonists, it impresses the great number of female characters that collaborate for the development of the narratives, contributing in a hard way to the construction of the plots and the dramas present in the work. This thesis, therefore, it aims to analyze the female characters of the called Cycle, grouping them according to the social situation in which they are. Futhermore, we create the following categories of analysis: helplessness, oppression and transgression, which are not mutually exclusive, but we argue in this work that the characters pass between these three categories. For that, we used as reference the works of BRAIT (2006), ROSENFELD (2011), CANDIDO (2011), WOOD (2011), REIS (2015) to reflect on the fictional character; CASTELO BRANCO and BRANDÃO (1989), BRANDÃO (2006), ZOLIN (2009) and ZINANI (2013), thinking about the relation between woman and literature and the studies of RAGO (2011), SAFFIOTI (2013), ALAMBERT (2004), LENIN (1979), BEAUVOIR (2009), which enabled us to understand the issues of women as well as gender relations. From the sixteen women characters analyzed, six, predominantly, are in the category of helplessness, of which they stand out: Orminda, D. Inacia and Lucíola; three are in oppression, and Felicia and seven of them are in the transgression, of which stand out: Alaíde, D. Amélia and Isaura.Investigating, therefore, the female character of the novels produced by Dalcídio Jurandir, which have a strong social denunciation aspect, helps us to care for Brazilian society at the beginning of the last century, as well as how this society was portrayed in Brazilian literature.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Futurosos e futuristas: uma história pelo avesso da arte moderna no Pará(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018-12-14) QUEIROZ, José Francisco da Silva; PRESSLER, Gunter Karl; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0100053541433805This work of literary history focuses on the cultural and literary ambience of the city of Belém, capital of the state of Pará, during the 1920s. Historical and chronological extrapolations that overcoming this decade, both before or after, were necessary to emphasize some positions esthetic and affirmations made according to the Modernism Canon instituted. Starting from a narratological approach (SCHMID, 2010; DOLEZEL, 2010), assisted by notions of the Aesthetic of Reception (JAUSS, 1994, 2010); some theoretical tools and critical reflections were transmigrated from these branches of research to employ them in the composition of a historiographic narrative based on the “literary archives” configured in the journalistic media. In this narratological scope were made some critical assumptions in the evaluation of some literary works published in this period, as well as the contestation of the canonized history about the supposed Modernism of Pará. In these terms we present a different perspective on the events that moved the cultural ambience of Pará during the first decades of the twentieth century. The subjects explored here bear the poetic and narrative tradition created by authors from Pará or settled in the State; presents the culture of civic celebrations and the associative commitment of the intellectuals; (Dadaism, Cubism, Futurism…); which were openly criticized by the great majority of intellectuals (journalists, poets, story teller…) “News” or “Elders”. If the most known historiographical works about the 1920s affirm the “triumph of the modernist idea” in Brazil (GOUVEIA, 2013), this research will demonstrate a narrative in which the appreciation of the poetic tradition, telluric writings and historical patriotism were the concepts fundamental that unified artist and “local” intellectuals and not the propounded history of an “adhesion” to Paulista Modernism.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O governo da língua na cabanagem: (des)encontros coloniais na Amazônia(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-05-12) LAVAREDA, Welton Diego Carmim; NEVES, Ivânia dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2648132192179863The research that resulted in the current doctoral thesis analyzes in general, how the different governmentality strategies defined by the colonial device, during the period of Cabanagem, favored the establishment of a European linguistic heritage in the Amazon, inserted in a series of conflicts, predominantly, linguistic. Taking as a starting point the archivist series cataloged in the Public Archives of Pará, in the Public Archives of the Municipalities of Cametá-PA and Vigia de Nazaré-PA, in the Foreing Office (London) and in the publication “Political Riots or history of the main events politicians in the Province of Pará from 1821 to 1835 ”(1970), this research proposes, in a specific way, to map the historical movements and the linguistic practices experienced at the time of the colonization (which served as base for the analyzes). Also in a specific way, we seek to identify which discursive tensions were legitimized, by the colonial device, for the maintenance of a government of the language that favored the European linguistic management in the Cabana Province (1835-1840). The theoretical and methodological framework were built under the basis of interdisciplinary dialogues that could refer to historical experience, adopting as main analytical basis the archeogenealogical perspective of Michel Foucault's discursive studies (1964; 2009; 2008, 2010a; 2010b; 2010c; 2011; 2016a; 2016b ). In order to understand the process of lusitanization and the historical emergencies of linguistic policies related to the Colonial Period, we turn to Rosa Virgínia Mattos e Silva (2004), Cristine Severo (2013; 2014; 2016) & Sinfree Makoni (2015) and Bessa Freire (2011). When we mobilizing the dimension of linguistic necropolitics and the concept of language in recent modernity, we follow the studies and conceptual operationalization that has been developed by GEDAI-CNPq (LAVAREDA & NEVES, 2018; 2019; 2020; OLIVEIRA, 2018; NEVES- CORRÊA, 2018; LISBÔA, 2019). By using as a reference the definition of coloniality of power guided by decolonial studies, driven by Aníbal Quijano (1999; 2005), and adopting the constitution of the language through the bias of modernity and coloniality as mutually constitutive projects (MIGNOLO, 2020; MARTÍN-BARBERO, 2009 ; 2014; WALSH, 2019), we moved the discussions about the colonial device proposed by Ivânia Neves (2009; 2015; 2020), in order to think about the technologies of power that are still active in the production processes of the subjectivities of Amazonian societies and of the discourses that circulate over them. The research on the cabano movement observed by Magda Ricci (2001; 2016), the studies on Afro-Brazilian populations in the social struggles and ethnic composition of Pará and on the Cabanagem, carried out by Vicente Salles (1992; 2005; 2015), also compose the global theoretical architecture of the proposed debates. Finally, it is ratified that the “invention” of a Portuguese-speaking government in the Cabano scenario intensified the transposition of varied discursive genres to the conditions of emergence of colonized peoples in the Brazilian Amazon and, in the same direction, potentiated the emergence of metacategories that were taken as discourses of truth until the history of the present.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A heterogeneidade linguístico-cultural em turmas de português língua estrangeira: o impacto na produção escrita(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2019-08-28) SALES, Hellen Margareth Pompeu de; CUNHA, José Carlos Chaves da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3117544056791050In this study, we discussed and analyzed written texts of students from different countries, participants of ―Programa de Estudante Convênio Graduação‖ (PEC G), of the Portuguese for Foreigners course, at Federal University of Pará (UFPA), who submitted to ―Certificado de Proficiência em Língua Portuguesa para Estrangeiros‖ (Celpe Bras), in the years of 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. The objective is to investigate the impact of the linguistic cultural heterogeneity of the student and the class in the teaching learning of the Written Production (PE) in Foreign Language Portuguese (PLE). It is, especially, an research action supported by the language biography procedure. Our theoretical base is based on studies on Plurilingualism, Pluriculturalism and Interculturalism (ABDALLAH PRETCEILLE, 2003/2010; BLANCHET, 1998/2014; CONSELHO DA EUROPA, 2001/2010; COSTE, 2001; 2010...), Competences (CONSELHO DA EUROPA, 2001/2010; HYMES, 1984...), and others, associated with the Interactionism Sociodiscursive ISD (BRONCKART, 2003/2017; DOLZ, 2004/ 2016; SCHNEUWLY, 2004/2014; BULEA, 2010/2012...). In order to constitute our data we developed Written Production workshops (directed to the target public) that gave us several texts written by the learners. They are texts that we call "real" (account of experience / linguistic biography, sketches / drafts) or of "simulated" (tasks of written production of diverse textual genres). All this material allowed us not only to identify the influence of languages cultures in the texts written in Portuguese by the learners, but also to verify attitudes, behaviors ... that sometimes helped, or sometimes they made it difficult to the process of Production written in Portuguese. The analysis of our data: 1) indicates that several texts written by the learner present "deviations" that studies, only, on textuality, do not explain satisfactorily, since they are related to the history of learning, with the attitude that the student assumed to learn portuguese etc. These are phenomenas that are often not perceived by the teacher (nor by the student) in the classroom, but which impact the teaching learning process; 2) confirms the need to deepen the study of the impact of the linguistic / cultural heterogeneity of the students, and of the group coming from their educational cultures, their learning paths of language cultures ... to understand better their written production difficulties in PLE and, thus, be able to optimize the teaching learning process.
