This article aims to present the first results of an ongoing research on cultural constructions that is
being held at the Agricultural Village of Princesa do Xingu in Altamira-Pará. A brief discussion about
the concept of culture within the ethnographic approach was constructed in order to guide the
references in which the results i n question were collected. To that end, the perspectives of Geertz
(1989) and Albó (2005) on culture were guiding in the understanding of the cultural constructions of
the dwellers of the Agricultural Village in question after approximately 46 years of its foundation. In
addition, the ethnographic approach to scientific research in the view of Geertz (1989) and Mattos
(2011) is also parameter for the data presented here. Instruments of ethnography such as participant
observation, field notes, photographic records, and interviews were used to collect data until now.
