(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-06) PANTOJA, Ana Lídia Nauar
The purpose of this article is to reflect on the importance of traditional knowledge and traditional healing practices among the Tembé Tenethehar indigenous peoples, in the northeast of the state of Pará, through the biographical narratives of a midwife, shaman and healer from Aldeia Ytuaçu. The exploratory research using the biographical method and oral history, had the data submitted to qualitative analysis, pointing to the importance that women assume in the community and in particular the midwife Francisca, whose trajectory reveals, the tradition of popular medicine that it is not always valued in the context of indigenous health care policies that have been implemented by the State and at the local level, thereby pointing to the risks of uprooting ancestral cultural values essential to the preservation of their traditions and identities.

This article illustrates the trajectories of two female doctors from state of Pará-Brazil, graduated from the former School of Medicine and Surgery of Pará, now, School of Medicine of Federal University of Pará in the late 1930s, and who had important roles in Cardiology, which had only begun to establish itself as a medicine specialty at the time: Maria do Carmo Sarmento Carvalho and Bettina Ferro de Souza. The former, was the first to use electrocardiography in Belém-Pará, and, who was also a great activist for the Brazilian Communist Party; her pioneering, however, seems to have been forgotten. The latter, stood out both academically, by teaching at the School of Medicine and also, in the Cardiology field, thus becoming some kind of patroness of this specialty in Belem-Pará. The differences between these two women will be presented and discussed in order to try and find the possible reasons why one is celebrated while the other was somewhat erased in the memory of people.

The first years of the Republic in Manaus were busy due to significant changes in the city's landscape, such as the construction and levelling of streets and the embankment of creeks. These events were propitiated thanks to the accumulation of capital from the latex trade, to the point where the city became known as the "Paris of the Tropics", given the cosmopolitanism that the city assumed with the rubber economy. At the same time as it expanded as a city, Manaus also saw the expansion of diseases such as malaria, which led to successive epidemics during the Belle Époque. In this article we will address how the disease gained a different visibility in relation to the provincial period, highlighting the reports of health authorities and rulers at the dawn of the Republic in Manaus. For that we will use the technique of discourse analysis in order to verify the changes and permanences in the understanding about the disease between 1898 and 1904. At the same time, we will verify how the recrudescence of the disease in the city brings, in tow, new clashes between Amazonian physicians in relation to the etiology and transmission of the disease, that is, from the idea of the mosquito as a vector in the early years of the twentieth century.

“No olho do furação”: a construção projeto de isolamento social frente ao Covid-19, em um grupo indígena na Amazônia
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-06) POTIGUAR JUNIOR, Petrônio Lauro
Here we expose this experience report, the result of a journey of five months of field research in the village Mapuera, where several indigenous groups live, generically called “Wai Wai Ethnicity”, in the city of Oriximiná, northwest of the state of Pará, because of the final phase of the doctoral thesis that is underway. Here we present the moments of distress and concerns experienced by the author of this report and native people in this place, in the first manifestations of the Covid-19 pandemic, here denominated “eye of the hurricane”, in March 2020. This experience leads us to the following question: How could an anthropologist help in the pandemic context that affects indigenous groups, especially in Mapuera? From that question, articulations were made involving the cacique chief, leadership, Mapuera Health Council, leaders of the local evangelical church, teachers and health professionals who provide service on the scene by Ovídio Machado Foundation, in front of the Guamá Tocantins- DSEI-GUATOC Sanitary District, focused on the development of a social isolation project. Until the first half of June 2020, moment of field departure, the referred project had not been used, since no case of Covid-19 had 1 Doutorando em Sociologia e Antropologia/PPGSA UFPA; Mestrado em Agricultura Familiar e Desenvolvimento Sustentável. Also news reports that, despite the non adherence to the “Social Isolation project” by the DSEI-GUATOC, its production served as a parameter for the development of a protection plan for the health team and the native people of the place, revealing one of the goals of this proposition: Inspire public policy actions in times of pandemic to protect indigenous peoples in the Amazonia, regardless of whoever they are.

This article presents an excerpt from a broader study of the dissertation entitled “Cuban Doctors and the Bragantine Community: Notes on Spanish / Portuguese Linguistic Contact in Brazilian Lands” which aimed to present some aspects of the situation of linguistic contact that was established between Cuban doctors and part of the bragantine community within the scope of the Mais Médicos Program, from 2015 to 2017, in the municipality of Bragança-PA. In this section, we present some linguistic issues that emerged from this linguistic contact in health practices between Cuban doctors and Bragantine patients, in which both were interested in understanding and making themselves understood in their verbal reports. Thus, the research consisted of analyzing the impasses imposed by the linguistic differences of the two groups as well as on the strategies developed, by both, to achieve the priority purposes of medical consultations in the context in which they found themselves. Thus, the results showed that the mutual effort and cooperation in accepting the strategies and translation efforts proposed in the context guaranteed the success of the interpretations of the symptoms of the disease and their diagnoses, culminating in an integrative experience between health, language and humanization in the Amazon.
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-06) FIGUEIREDO, Augusto César Pinto
This article is the result of the first year of field research developed for the doctoral thesis entitled: “The history of prostitution in dam areas in the Amazon: The dark side of great capital”, It is also the results of the discussions conducted in the discipline “Sociobiodiversity and job". This paper, we discuss several aspects such as the profile of sex workers, the profile of clients, the value of a pool, we briefly discuss the reasons that lead these people to enter the sex market. We talk about the challenges of doing field research during the pandemic period, we present the transcript of dialogues that were collected throughout the year 2020 with a total of 50 sex workers. The questions were initially open, but as soon as the interviewees felt at ease, the open questions turned into life narratives and trajectories that started from family history to the moment that led them to “choose” the sex market. The data collected resulted in a table that presents the physical characteristics, age group, types of pooling and the average fees charged per pooling.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-06) OLIVEIRA, Marcelo do Vale
The general objective is to understand the challenges of including local social and environmental knowledge and practices in the co-production of the Resex Caeté-Taperaçu Management Plan. The central question is what are the challenges of including local socioenvironmental practices in the co production of the Management Plan for the Caeté-Taperaçu marine resex? From an approach of the Sociology of Public Action (LASCOUMES and LE GALÈS, 2012; TEISSERENC and TEISSERENC, 2014) we link a new perspective of interdisciplinary view on public policies, in which the State has its centrality contested, with greater participation of different actors in discussions with implementations and management, based on new dynamics and local mobilizations. The analyzed database was constituted from documentary information and interviews of twenty people involved in the co production. And the main result shows that in a process so rich in learning and socioenvironmental achievements, it has not yet been possible to break with the hegemony of other interests linked to a rationality that is neither environmental nor local populations. However, the capacity to resist, to invent, to learn, from social segments such as traditional populations, in partnership with other segments of actors (teaching and research institutions, State bodies), has been able to impose itself, face political and economic forces that deny them, through the adoption of environmental conservation references.

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-06) RIBEIRO, Vanderlei Vazelesk
In this work is discussed the process of agrarian reform and counter agrarian reform occurred in Chile between 1960 and 1990. Initially there is a reflection about the agrarian reform process developed during the government of Jorge Alessandri (1958-1964), Eduardo Frei (1964-1970) and Salvador Allende (1970-1973). In sequence, there is an evaluation on the effort for reversion of the executed process during the regime led by general Augusto Pinochet between 1973 and 1990. The aim is not to comprehend the movements as homogeneous, but to observe their internal divergences which sometimes lead to interorganizational breaks. On occasion, there will be compared the agrarian reform and counter reform development in central and south Chile, among the conflicts between landowners and mapuche population in the struggle for land ownership. In this way we are able to weight the indigenous theme in this region, which would lead to consequences in the national landscape.

This article intends to discuss and bring up ideas for the development of a historical-critical materialist pedagogy within the Portuguese language classes, emphasizing questions and activities to be developed in Elementary School, but which can be applied with variations in other grades too. The texts chosen for analysis and development of the didactic sequence were A Festa no Céu (The party in the Sky), a traditional Brazilian tale narrated by Luís Câmara Cascudo andThe fox and the grapes, one of Aesop's fables. Thus we intend to contribute to the teaching of Portuguese language in Brazil and with the literature`s teaching in Latin American`s Elementary School, reflecting the voices of a pedagogy focused on humanization, critical thinking and reflection on the reality that surrounds us. For this study, we used the theoretical contributions of Labov (1997), Barthes (1976) e Fiorin (2008).

(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-03) ALCOFORADO, Joaquim Luís Medeiros; FRIAS, Mafalda; CORDEIRO, António Manuel Rochette
By combining professional training policies with technological innovations, changes in production and work organization seek to define strategies that result in the individual’s effective participation in their production environment. With an integrative intention and by taking into account the processes and contexts’ changes of the economy sectors, professional training entities should, by adopting a broader view of action, focus on the development of training initiatives adjusted to society’s real needs and, specially, adjusted to the local community in which the citizens act. As a result, within a municipal context’s education strategic project – Local Educational Project – developed between the University of Coimbra and a Lisbon’s Metropolitan Area County (Sintra), still in a diagnostic phase and by using the Focus Group technique, some companies and training institutions representatives of the territory counties were heard about the business characterization and its needs in terms of human resources and training areas. Assuming that local development calls for the participation of all agents and all people, based on a holistic preparation, professional education, as a vital contribution to economic, social and cultural development, becomes a multidimensional phenomenon essentially focused on promoting action capacities and strengthening the conditions for individual and group participation, in the processes of integrated and sustained development, based on the realities of people and their communities.

A questão do tema gerador em Paulo Freire: práticas e experimentações em Tracuateua-PA
(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2021-03) PINHEIRO, Marcio Fernando Duarte; SILVA, José Bittencourt da
The objective of this text is to expose and analyze the practical implementation of Paulo Freire's ideas in the scope of Youth and Adult Education in the municipality of Tracuateua, state of Pará. The theoretical and practical bases of education that this intellectual presented were taken as a reference in the schools in the municipality since 2015, although reframed and adjusted to the reality of the place. Based on a documentary survey and interviews with Pedagogical technicians from the Municipal Education Secretariat (SEMED), it was concluded that Paulo Freire's ideas are essential for the formative path of students in Tracuateua. For this reason, local educational agents have resisted pressures in the current Brazilian political scenario, seeking to maintain the pedagogical work based on listening and dialogicity so dear to the Freirian paradigm of education.

The study aims to analyze the knowledge and practices experienced by children during the marujada party in the city of Tracuateua / PA. The problem raised was guided by the following question: what is the perception of the children of the marujada from Tracuateua / PA on the knowledge / practices of this festival? For this, it was necessary to discuss the categories culture, education, knowledge and childhood about new perspectives from the perspective of culture represented as a “web of meanings” constructed in the social relations of men; education as a “fraction of that culture” that can be developed in different places with different social groups; knowledge as a learning transmitted between generations in a heterogeneous way of doing; childhood was analyzed in the light of “childhood sociology”, understanding the child as the protagonist of their experiences. This study had as interpreters 16 (sixteen) children, 10 (ten) girls and 6 (six) boys, aged between 6 (six) and 12 (twelve) years of age, participating in the party. The methodological path was characterized by a qualitative approach with research techniques such as conversation circles, observation, field diaries, photographic records and the dynamics with drawings. Thus, based on the diversity of knowledge constructed in the daily life of the marujada, knowledge and actions inherent to the party were identified, experienced and shared by / by the movement between sailors and sailors of different generations through listening, observation and orality.
