Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Indicadores de valor social: perspectiva dos usuários do Projeto Usina da Paz(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2025-03-31) BARBOSA, Mônica Barreto; MARTINS, Harley dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3094067019584624; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1400-0939The literature on social value indicates that managers do not possess the necessary skills to incorporate social values into decision-making processes or to adequately evaluate them. Furthermore, there is no unified method to measure social value, and the existing methods use financial and monetary metrics. Thus, the need arose to identify qualitative indicators of social value, which represent the real impacts of projects and their social complexity in a nonmonetary way, based on the perspectives of the project’s main stakeholders: the users. The aim was also to identify the SDGs practiced by the project and the relationships between them and social value. To this end, research was carried out, characterized as an exploratory case study with a qualitative approach, using semi-structured interviews involving 34 users of the Usina da Paz Project, located in the metropolitan region of Belém. The interview script was adapted based on factors identified in the literature review. Data analysis was conducted through Bardin’s thematic content analysis, using ATLAS.ti software to assist in the analysis, storage, and management of data. The findings suggest that the Usina da Paz Project addresses 12 of the 17 existing SDGs, with greater activity in SDG 4 (Quality Education) with 144 mentions and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) with 72 mentions, while 5 SDGs were not addressed by the interviewees. Accordingly, 17 social value indicators were identified, represented qualitatively, showing that social value is present in the project and is directly linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Based on the identified indicators, the 17 codes were grouped into 6 categories, according to key themes for better understanding. SDG 4 (Quality Education) presents a strong relationship with the social value indicators of the Usina da Paz Project, especially education and training (coefficient 0.50), equality and opportunities (coefficient 0.14), and culture and personal enrichment (coefficient 0.17). This suggests that the project is on the right path to contributing to the UN 2030 Agenda. The aim of this study is to analyze the relationship between environmental initiatives and organizational citizenship behavior for the environment (OCB-E) in federal universities. This is a descriptive and quantitative study with canonical correlation analysis conducted with staff from the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) and the Federal Rural University of the Amazon (UFRA). The applied questionnaire utilized the Environmental Initiatives Scale and the OCB-E Scale. The results indicated that environmental initiatives have a positive influence on OCB-E, with emphasis on environmental policy and eco-initiative, while civic eco-engagement showed a moderate relationship. The study contributes to expanding knowledge about institutional factors that encourage sustainable practices in the university environment and provides support for managers in developing strategies aimed at sustainability and environmental engagement of public servants in line with Sustainable Development Goals 4, 11 and 12, which provide for quality education, sustainable cities and communities, and responsible consumption and production, respectively.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O efeito do status do consumo sustentável no engajamento e no boca a boca na categoria de consumo moderado pelo tipo de comunicação no ambiente online(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2025-02-07) CARDOSO, Diego Tavares; ARRUDA FILHO, Emilio Jose Montero; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9895428179606886; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1574-8332The status of sustainable consumption has emerged as a differentiation capable of generating demand for environmentally friendly products, which is why several studies have dedicated themselves to better understanding this positioning phenomenon in the context of sustainable consumption. Thus, this research sought to understand the effects of this status of sustainable consumption on engagement and, consequently, on word of mouth when moderated by the type of communication in the virtual environment (rational x emotional). To this end, three quantitative studies were developed, in which statistical techniques were applied using SPSS 23 and PROCESS 4.3 software to analyze the data obtained and achieve a greater understanding of the phenomenon studied. Among the findings of this research, the moderating effect of emotional communication on the relationship between status and engagement stands out, in addition to status with word of mouth. Furthermore, we identified that engagement acts as a mediator in the relationship between status and word of mouth. This study makes significant contributions to the literature and to marketers, offering insights into the most effective type of communication for sustainable products with high or low status appeal, as well as suggesting directions for future research.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Liderança feminina na Polícia Militar: um estudo na Região Norte do Brasil(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-12-03) NEGRÃO, Íris Alves Miranda; POLETO, Thiago; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2623462990819090; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7100-2319This dissertation investigates female leadership in the Military Police of the Northern Region of Brazil. The aim of the study is to understand the new competencies developed by women in leadership positions within this institution, with a focus on shared leadership. The methodology employed is qualitative, based on semistructured interviews with 24 female police leaders selected for their experience and relevance to the topic. The study utilized MAXQDA 24.6 for data analysis, following a thematic approach that identified categories related to female leadership practices, such as courage, confidence, competitiveness, control, compassion, commitment, creativity, and charisma. The results indicate that female police officers possess unique skills, such as empathy and resilience, which foster a culture of shared leadership. The study concludes that integrating these competencies can enhance both community service and the work environment in security forces, while also contributing to the literature on police leadership by offering a new perspective on the influence of feminine characteristics in public security organizations.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Integrando a teoria do comportamento planejado e o oportunismo para prever os efeitos na intenção de renovação contratual de serviços contínuos na administração pública(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-12-18) SÁ, Najla Andrade Massoud de; POLETO, Thiago; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2623462990819090; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7100-2319Purpose: This study explores the integration between the theory of planned behavior and the concept of opportunism to analyze contract renewal intentions in continuous services in public administration. Originality: The research advances the academic field by applying this theoretical combination to understand the decisions of public managers regarding contract renewal. The study highlights the relevance of cognitive elements in managers' decisions regarding contract renewal. This theoretical approach deepens the understanding of public sector decision-making processes and converges with external assessments related to contractors' pportunism. Approach: The quantitative methodology examined the responses of 198 public managers in charge of continuous service contracts. The method used to analyze the results is Partial Least Squares (PLS), based on SmartPLS 4.0 software. Conclusions: The results indicate that the variables of the theory of planned behavior (subjective norms, attitudes, and perceived behavioral control) exert a positive influence on contract renewal intention. However, opportunism had a negative effect on contract renewal intention. Furthermore, opportunism positively moderated the relationship between attitude and intention, while there was no moderation between subjective norms and perceived behavior control. Practical implications: It is proposed that managers adopt negotiation strategies that prioritize transparent dialogue, which is essential to establish trust between the parties. Furthermore, public administration should invest in improving managerial capacity in order to implement appropriate solutions for contract management.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Influência da autoeficácia na satisfação no trabalho na intensão de rotatividade: um estudo com professores federais da educação superior(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-12-18) ANDRADE, Nilda Maria da Cruz; MATTOS, Carlos André Corrêa de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3337808570398709; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3027-7479This study aims to analyze the relationship between self-efficacy and job satisfaction, both individual and group-based, and the implications of these relationships on turnover intention among federal higher education professors. A survey was conducted with 165 federal professors selected through non-probabilistic convenience sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire based on the New General Self-Efficacy Scale (NGSE), Short Index of Job Satisfaction (SIJS), Group Work Satisfaction Scale (ESAGT), and Turnover Intention Scale (EIR), and analyzed using structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM).The results indicated that self-efficacy is a significant predictor of job and group satisfaction. However, a paradox was observed: while self-efficacy generally enhances satisfaction, in contexts of low professional recognition, it may increase turnover intention. This finding highlights the need for strategic actions that foster professional development and recognition, creating an environment that enhances self-efficacy while reducing dissatisfaction and turnover intentions. Artificial intelligence is playing an increasingly important role in the treatment of patients in various areas of medicine. The aim of this research was to identify how the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has contributed to patient care. To this end, a literature review was carried out in order to research the theoretical framework that underpins the construction of the research. A framework was then drawn up based on the main theoretical approaches in the current literature. In conjunction, field research was carried out, which included an empirical investigation in the place where the phenomenon occurs, using a semi-structured interview script with health professionals working in Federal University Hospitals (HUFs) located in the Legal Amazon region. The research is justified by the need to improve patient care in the HUFs, with the aim of contributing to new models of service provision. The data obtained from the interviews with professionals at these hospitals was compared with the results from the literature review, and the empirical characteristics of the research brought out positive and negative points in relation to their use of AI in patient care. As a solution, this research presents a model to support patient care with the insertion of AI in HUFS, considering the concept of mimetic isomorphism, in which this practice tends to be homogenized or standardized imminently through its consolidation in the market.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Uso metodologia lean seis sigma para diagnóstico da qualidade dos serviços prestados em uma empresa do setor de telecomunicações(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2025-02-08) ARAÚJO, Mateus Araújo de; MARTINS, Harley dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3094067019584624; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1400-0939Growing competitiveness in the telecommunications market and increased demand for internet services have required companies to adopt more effective quality assessment methods, with a focus on continuous service improvement and customer retention. Among the various approaches available is Lean Six Sigma (LSS), a methodology that aims to improve operational performance and service quality. The aim of this research was to carry out a diagnosis of the quality of services provided in a telecommunications company, using the LSS methodology by analyzing cases of customer complaints. In addition, the study seeks to contribute to the scientific literature, given the limited number of studies dealing with the application of LSS in the telecommunications sector. To carry out this research, a case study strategy was adopted, covering all complaints registered throughout 2023. Data collection was based on secondary information extracted from the company's ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system. The data was processed using Microsoft Excel software, enabling detailed analysis of the complaints. It was identified that the company's process was below excellence levels, with a sigma level of 3 and a cost of quality of 25 to 40%, suggesting significant opportunities for improvement. The Pareto diagram revealed that approximately 92% of the complaints were concentrated in two main problems: “slow internet” and “no internet”. Analysis of the Ishikawa diagram showed that the causes of the complaints were multifactorial, covering technical, operational and environmental aspects. The 5W1H and GUT Matrix tools were key to organizing and prioritizing improvement actions efficiently, ensuring that the proposed interventions focused on the most critical problems. The diagnosis provided a detailed overview of the quality of the company's services, serving as the basis for implementing a continuous improvement plan. In addition, the research fills a gap in the literature by addressing the application of LSS in telecommunications companies. The results can serve as a reference for other organizations in the sector seeking to optimize their processes and improve customer satisfaction. However, the research had some limitations, such as the exclusive focus on the 2023 complaints, the absence of a satisfaction survey applied directly to customers and the nonimplementation of the proposed improvements. For future studies, we suggest extending the period of analysis, including positive and neutral customer interactions, applying satisfaction surveys and validating the recommended improvements in practice. These actions will allow for a more comprehensive understanding of service quality and confirmation of the effectiveness of the proposed improvements.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Interação entre estilos de liderança e dimensões da cultura organizacional: avaliação do impacto no desempenho na indústria de transformação(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-10-22) SILVA, Luciana Lobato; LUCENA, Bruno Rafael Dias de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0451524747464562The research that resulted in this dissertation sought to empirically investigate the interaction between leadership and culture, as well as the effect of this interaction on the performance of manufacturing companies in the Amazon region. A multi-method methodological approach was used, starting with a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) on the aforementioned themes and object of investigation. Based on this review, the dimensions of culture and consolidated leadership styles were shown, and how they interact to contribute to companies in terms of improving organizational performance, be it operational, financial or environmental. An article was formatted with the results of the SLR, which was accepted at the XV Colloquium on Organizations, Development, Sustainability & II International Conference on Creative Economy and Public Policies. After the SLR, an empirical survey was conducted with 80 manufacturing companies located in the state of Pará, Amazon region of Brazil. In the discussions of the statistical analyses, Contingency Theory was applied to explore how contextual variables and scarce resources influence performance. The results reveal that the effect on organizational performance measures in view of the interaction between leadership styles and organizational culture adopted by companies in the Amazon Region is not homogeneous. These survey results are organized in detail in an article format.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Brasil, mostra tua cara: as (in)visibilidades estatísticas de LGBTQIAP+(Universidade Federal do Pará, 2024-03-12) MATTOS, Marcos Fabrício da Costa; LUCENA, Bruno Rafael Dias de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0451524747464562This dissertation brings to light the relevance of discussions on the dynamics and understanding of LGBTQIAP+ identities in their multiple daily lives involving gender relations and sexual diversity in the Brazilian socio-political context. It is a study based on the 1988 constitutional premise, which states that it is the duty of the state to promote the well-being of all, without prejudice to origin, color, age, or any form of discrimination. Its importance is therefore justified in three respects: a) Social, since the issue of promoting citizenship for vulnerable populations is a current debate in various fields, pointing to constant transformations and, consequently, advances and setbacks in Brazilian society over the last thirty years; b) Academic, since research related to LGBTphobia is of the utmost importance to encourage studies on the practice, delimitation and analysis of this type of violence, as a way of confronting all types of violence and prejudice, making a great contribution to scientific, social and political circles and, based on this understanding, it was also observed that there is still no debate on Organizational Management related to the LGBTQIAP+ population in the PPGAD/UFPA database, making the work unprecedented. c) Institutional Practice, since it can help in the creation, implementation, and maintenance of policies, as a conquest of rights for LGBTQIAP+ people in the country. In view of this, the research was mainly dedicated to qualifying the citizenship of this population, understood in the concept of Human Rights, with the aim of making it a reality, using statistical indicators generated by organizations, in this case the IBGE, as a possible instrument for the effectiveness of current policies carried out by the Brazilian state. Therefore, understanding that the problem of discrimination permeates the intersectionality of various social markers that make up Brazilian society, the study sought to answer the question: What is the importance of adopting the terms "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" in government instruments for the dynamics of public policies for LGBTQIAP+ people? To achieve this goal, the methodological approach was qualitative research, as well as a systematic and bibliographical review of the themes necessary for critical and constructive interpretation in terms of identifying the political and identity processes of the movements and the violations of their rights. It also used documentary analysis of the activities conducted regarding public policies in Brazil, in the legislative, judicial, and executive spheres from 1992 to 2022. The results led to an eminently historical observation and recovery of the memory of the struggles of the LGBTQIAP+ movement and the particularities of its achievements, through programs, plans and policies implemented in the aforementioned period, presenting themselves as advances but at the same time not so effective, with many failures and moments of setbacks. Another piece of evidence is the mismatch between government institutions when it comes to dealing with and resolving LGBTQIAP+ demands. Therefore, during the research, it became clear that in contemporary Brazil, there is no official data on this population, which are important tools for legitimizing citizenship and guaranteeing rights. There is an opportunity for research to investigate whether Pará municipalities are implementing environmental management through environmental secretariats. This environmental management monitoring helps to identify and correct problems. As a social impact, this research will assist in the quality of life of local communities, through a sustainable environment. However, there are gaps in understanding the factors that affect the intention to continue using these services, particularly among elderly users. The objective of this research is to analyze how image barriers, tradition barriers, digital skills, and the quality of internet access contribute to the resistance of elderly users to the continuous use of Brazilian government services. To test and validate the proposed conceptual model, structural equation modeling was used with data from questionnaires of 426 respondents. The research results reveal effects among the evaluated constructs, with the two barriers highlighted by the Innovation Resistance Theory, tradition and image, demonstrating statistical significance. Additionally, the quality of internet access and digital skills also emerge as factors that predict the intention to continue using the services. The application of this model showed that Image Barriers, Tradition Barriers, and Digital Skills explain 47.8% of the variance in the respondents' Intention to Continue Using (ICU). This model, considered innovative in the public service, uses Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to improve administrative processes and increase bureaucratic flexibility, generating better results. In addition, the Theory of Adaptive Structuring (ASD) explains the implementation and use of Information Systems as a social construction by the technological appropriation of the members of the organization. Thus, the objective of this research is to analyze the implementation of telework in the servers of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Pará (IFPA) and the Federal University of South and Southeast of Pará (UNIFESSPA) from the perspective of ASD. The research is of an applied nature, with exploratory purposes, and uses a qualitative and quantitative approach of descriptive character, with a survey as a strategy. The non-probabilistic convenience sample used Multiple Regression analysis to interpret the data. The results show that the variables Communication, Technological Infrastructure, Autonomy, Organizational Adaptation and Impact on Quality of Life influence the implementation of telework, and the most interesting thing is that what is significant for one institution was not for the other. In addition, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used to verify whether the respondents' profile influences the results. The insights gained are crucial for other institutions considering adopting telecommuting, providing an evidence-based guide to a successful transition. In addition to the practical and empirical impact, this research is also of great relevance in the academic context, as it contributes to the advancement of knowledge about the adaptation and use of technologies in the public sector. However, there are gaps in the understanding of factors that affect intentions to use and adopt this technology, especially considering more experienced users of mobile application technology. The research aims to investigate technology acceptance in order to assess the determinants of mHealth adoption in the Amazon. To test and validate the proposed conceptual model, structural equation modeling was used with questionnaire data from 352 participants. The results obtained from the research indicate significant relationships between the constructs evaluated and that perceived privacy mediates the effect between trust and behavioral intentions to adopt mHealth applications, as well as indirect influences such as self-efficacy and direct effects such as perceived usefulness and attitude. The use of this model, with four potential antecedents, made it possible to explain 58% of the variance in respondents' behavioral intention to use. One of its main functions is the provision of public services that meet local needs regarding the realization of human rights. The work began with an in-depth review of the national literature that generated the article “Local Public Management and Human Rights: A bibliometric study in national literature”, submitted to the Humanities and Innovation. The second paper analyzes the governance instruments of municipal management in human rights, particularly the actions implemented for selected vulnerable groups, aiming to create a general indicator of municipal management performance using the Item Response Theory technique. In addition to enabling a comparative assessment of local governments in human rights, the approach allows identifying actions with greater or lesser implementation, providing managers with the possibility of identifying points in which they need to improve their performance. The aim is to identify different perceptions in the context of gift packaging, bringing a consumption experience beyond the present itself, showing all the charm in unwrapping a received content, and all its subjectivity in the perceived value, thus constituting a mediation of the relationship between the Unboxing Experience and satisfaction with the gift. The methodological conduction was carried out through a quantitative experiment with a 2 x 2 factorial study, presenting perceived value as a mediating variable and expectation with the present as a moderating variable. The objective of the research is to identify factors and prove the influence of the transparency of government information on social control and citizen participation of public agents in the state of Pará. An exploratory and descriptive survey was carried out with quantitative treatment and non-probability sampling for accessibility. The population consisted of 402 respondents. The data obtained through a questionnaire with 67 indicators were treated with quantitative techniques in the form of descriptive, correlational and multivariate statistics (exploratory factor analysis) and structural equation modeling in the form of partial least squares (PLS-SEM), to confirm the factors and test three research hypotheses. In the Brazilian public sector, at the federal level, the interoperability of systems becomes mandatory through Law Nº. 14,129, of March 29, 2021. Thus, research aimed at identifying influences on the interoperability of systems in the public sector is urgent and necessary. Design/Methodology/Approach: This research uses the qualitative-quantitative approach to investigate the effects of the barriers brought by the Semiotic Interoperability Theory in the use of interoperable systems, as well as to investigate the influence of such systems on the quality of shared information and engagement at work. As the object of the research, the SIG System used at the Federal University of Pará was chosen. Data were obtained through a survey. After data collection, the data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Originality: This research contributes to the literature by expanding the debate on the interoperability of systems in the public sector in an intra-organizational way, since research on the subject is still scarce. In addition, it offers practical perspectives by analyzing the barriers and influences of the intra-organizational process of system interoperation in the Brazilian public sector. Findings: As a result, it was observed that the variables of the Se-miotic Interoperability Theory are able to explain the use of systems that are in intra-organizational interoperation. Rational actions tend to be influenced by the decision-making process, which, together, influence organizational efficiency. Decision-making based on rationality has been the subject of studies in several theoretical and empirical studies. In the field of rational choice, there is extensive literature involving private sector entities; however, few studies are found regarding public sector organizations. The efficient execution of operations in public administration has been increasingly demanded by society, especially after Constitutional Amendment No. 19/1998, which introduced the principle of efficiency in the Brazilian constitution, imposing that public administration be exercised with promptness, quality, perfection, effectiveness and functional performance. The reality exposed was motivating for carrying out this research, which demonstrated the importance of rational decision-making by public managers to improve organizational efficiency. Thus, exploratory research was conducted with a quantitative approach, using the field research technique, through the application of 167 questionnaires to decision-makers in Public Higher Education Institutions in the city of Belém, state of Pará. Our findings show, through the theoretical model adopted in the research, that the Decision-Making Process directly influences Rational Choice and Operational Efficiency. In turn, Rational Choice directly influences Operational Efficiency, that is, there is a strong interrelationship between the Decision-Making Process, Rational Choice and Operational Efficiency constructs. Exploratory factor analysis explains 59% of the variance of the proposed model. Another finding of this research is the confirmation that rational choice mediates the relationship between the Decision-Making Process and Operational Efficiency with a statistical significance level lower than 0.05%. With a relevant and original approach, the research contributes to scientific and academic knowledge by investigating the interaction of two constructs in a performance proxy based on rational choice theory. That said, it points to the behavior of managers adopting a growth and agile mindset, even in public organizations that adopt a more traditional type of management, since managers aim to improve decision-making in a rational way, even when they are in an environment of uncertainty and constant evolution. In the social sphere, this research contributes to better practices in the provision of services offered to society, in a timely and high-quality manner, guiding, in some way, institutional governance. To achieve this, an exploratory-descriptive survey of a quantitative nature was conducted among 401 employees of a Federal University located in the state of Pará, Brazil. The questionnaire utilized the Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument (OCAI) and Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) scales. Data were processed using the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) technique through SmartPls4® software. Results indicated a prevalence of hierarchical and clan cultures, along with high OCB scores, both individual-focused (OCBI) and organization-focused (OCB-O). It was concluded that OCB-I is positively and significantly influenced by clan (H1a), adhocratic (H3a), and market (H4a) cultures, while OCB-O is influenced by clan (H1b), hierarchical (H2a), and adhocratic (H3b) cultures. The research contributes theoretically to understanding the role of OCB and its interrelation in the workplace. The expectation is that these findings guide managers in formulating organizational strategies, especially in the public sector.
