Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) A reforma do Estado nos anos 90 e suas implicações para as políticas públicas educacionais na região amazônica(2000-12) CORRÊA, Paulo Sérgio de AlmeidaThe article discusses how the State reform process has been developed in Brazil, focusing particularly the implications that this reordering has been bringing for the educational public politics, which began to be implemented in the amazon area by the government of the State of Pará since the second half of the nineties. Guided by the hypothesis that the educational politics practiced in the amazon area by the Para’s Government are based on the guide lines of the managerial public administration, the study considers the relationship of that choice with the widest process of those changes happened at the present time on the world wide capitalism.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Reformas internacionais da educação e formação de professores(2003-03) MAUÉS, Olgaíses CabralTeacher training is currently the center of events in the world of education, yielding approval and controversy, and pointing out the need for reforms in the area. Reasons for these reforms, for some, are linked to the negative results in student performance, which have not met the labor market's demands. This text analyzes teacher training reform as an international trend, linked to multilateral agencies' requirements, whose purpose is to serve the process of globalization. Based on this logic, the aim is to identify the premises of such reform, the conceptual framework and the methodological contributions which have supported the process. The text presents some axes which have sustained teacher training reforms, such as: "universitarization"/professionalization, emphasis on practical training/certification of experience, continuous training and competence-based pedagogy, analyzing the importance of each in the international context.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Políticas da educação e sistemas filosóficos: a vontade da exclusão(2004-12) GIORDANO, Rosely CabralThis paper braces, with the help of the thinkers from Frankfurt: Adorno and Horkheimer, a frontal battle against the thought that unifies, excludes and reduces the other thoughts. For this, the category of experience plays the main role: an exercise of sharing with the different, abdicating of domination, in constant search of the full enlightenment movement of the autonomy and the social and political emancipation.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Só de corpo presente: o silêncio tácito sobre cor e relações raciais na formação de professoras no estado do Pará(2007-04) COELHO, Wilma de Nazaré BaíaThis text diagnoses one of the most serious problems of education in Brazil: the non-tackling of racial discrimination and prejudice. More than just exposing its existence, it analyses one of its sources: the absence of discussion on race, colour and prejudice in the formation of educators in the State of Pará. On the basis of an analysis of the teachers' formation provided by the Institute of Education of the State of Pará, a secular institution which constitutes a reference for teachers' formation in the State of Pará, this work shows that a good part of the teachers' actions are a consequence of a training that did not deal with fundamental aspects, such as the constitution of Brazilian nationality. We conclude that, despite definite advances forged by social activism regarding the issue of racism since the 1960's, the training of teachers is a factor that continues to contribute to the reproduction of stereotypes and prejudice.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) O contexto das brincadeiras das crianças ribeirinhas da Ilha do Combu(2008) TEIXEIRA, Sônia Regina dos Santos; ALVES, José MoysésThis study describes the context of plays among preschoolers on Combu Island, near Belém, PA, focusing on aspects of physical and social environment as well as the main activities of adults and the peculiarities of the make-believe play. We approach the interpretations of José Veríssimo on the national problems of the Brazilian education in the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century. Our intention is to present and analyze these interpretations, carried through in the First Republic. José Veríssimo was born in Óbidos, Pará, in 1857, and died in Rio de Janeiro, in 1916. He spent part of his intellectual life in Pará and another part in the capital of the Republic, where he established and participated actively in the Brazilian Academy of Letters (ABL) and in the Brazilian Magazine (Revista Brasileira). The author was an important studious man in the discussions on the consequences of the Portuguese colonialism and the frustrated attempts to have some republican politics of education in Brazil. For José Veríssimo, the public education would have strategically overcome the racial degenerations promoted by the settling in Brazilian backlands. The "Brazis" that sociologically made the domestic territory to that time are thought by Veríssimo as an impediment to be overcome by the Republic for the insertion of the Country in the modern order that for him meant civilization. But this so called civilization would be effective under his perspective, as all the Brazilians were included in a project of national unit.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Expansão da privatização/mercantilização do ensino superior Brasileiro: a formação dos oligopólios(2010-06) CHAVES, Vera Lúcia JacobThe main objective of this article is to present a critical analysis of the post-1996 LDB (Law of Basic Tenets and Guidelines of Brazilian Education) educational policies regarding the expansion of higher education in Brazil. We focused on the effects of different programs of professional education in the city of Belém, state of Pará, in the period of 1995 and 2003. We could verify that these programs had been guided by references identified with Pragmatism. We conclude indicating that a new professional education is still to be constructed.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Fatores de risco e proteção na escola: reprovação e expectativas de futuro de jovens paraenses(2014-08) NUNES, Tatiene Germano Reis; PONTES, Fernando Augusto Ramos; SILVA, Lúcia Isabel da Conceição; DELL’AGLIO, Débora DalboscoIn this study we investigate the relations existing amid school failure, perceptions concerning the school and expectations of future among young people, from data of a sample of 610 young people with ages between 14 and 24 years (m=16,56; dp=2,37), of both sexes, students from public schools of Belém city in Pará state. It points out common features between those life histories as sexual violence during childhood, poverty, and schooling in order to demonstrate that teaching cannot be thought out of a wider context of women's constitution. It argues that the women status in this region has historically performed singular possibilities that explain how and why girls who were excluded from the school world for a long period turned into teachers. It demonstrates how being a teacher joins to the social processes of the riverine space, ensuring a whole interrelation process.Item Acesso aberto (Open Access) Transgressão do Paradigma da (multi)Seriação como referência para a construção da Escola Pública do Campo(2014-12) HAGE, Salomão Antônio MufarrejThe article analyzes the reality of rural public schools by including their particularities in the broader challenges facing the popular social movements of rural areas. These social movements seek to ensure the right to universal Basic Education with socially relevant quality and affirmative of the sociocultural and territorial diversity that constitute the rural areas in Brazil. It shares the results of studies carried out by the Group of Study and Research in Rural Education in the Amazon - GEPERUAZ, that investigates the reality of rural schools with multigrade classes, considering the paradox between disrepair and precariousness that to a large extent characterize the conditions of existence of these schools and the creative actions taken by teachers and students in school daily life that defy the adverse conditions experienced therein. It indicates references to the transgression of the urban grading teaching paradigm, currently hegemonic in these schools.
